Colorado's transgenderism bill has Orwell rolling in his grave

Parental rights warriors are sounding the alarm on what they’re calling a straight-up "totalitarian" transgenderism bill that just got rammed through the Colorado state House. This thing’s got ‘em worried it could tank parents’ chances in custody battles if they dare "misgender" or "deadname" their kids. Yeah, you heard that right. Dystopian much?

Erin Lee, a fired-up mom from the Centennial State, laid it out plain on Fox News' "The Faulkner Focus" Monday: "This is giving the authority to our state to take our children away if we don’t agree with these gender transitions, so it’s got huge ramifications for all parents, especially those in custody situations who are fighting with their ex-spouses to stop their children from being medicalized." She didn’t hold back,
adding, "It opens the door for all parents to potentially have their children forcibly removed by the state if they’re not willing to affirm their child’s mental health distress."

The bill in question, HB25-1312, is a doozy. It slaps state-mandated gender policies on schools and calls it "coercive control" in custody cases if a parent doesn’t play along with their kid’s gender identity.

Imagine this: the bill flat-out says, "when making child custody decisions and determining the best interests of a child for purposes of parenting time, a court shall consider deadnaming, misgendering or threatening to publish material related to an individual’s gender-affirming health-care services as types of coercive control."

Dubbed the Kelly Loving Act—named after a transgender man killed in that 2022 Colorado nightclub shooting by a nonbinary gunman—this bill also tells Colorado courts to flip the bird to other states’ laws that yank kids from parents who green-light transgender treatments for minors. It’s a bold Orwellian move, and it’s got people angry.

For moms like Lee and California’s Erin Friday, this isn't just politics—it’s personal.

Both their daughters went through a phase of identifying as boys, but Lee and Friday held firm, didn’t buy into it, and their girls eventually dropped the transgender label. Friday, who’s been a Democrat her whole life, didn’t mince words: "This bill will not only determine that parents like Erin and I are abusers — both of us had Child Protective Services come to our home when we refused to call our daughter males — but this bill also affects the press and its freedom of the press, and it will require them to use the chosen name of a child, how they choose it, and any adult."

She’s calling it a "massive First Amendment violation," and she’s not wrong. This thing’s a constitutional gut-punch and like all good communist ideas, it takes parental authority away and gives it to Big Brother,.

Friday’s pushing for a bipartisan rebellion, saying parents gotta hit the courts, the public square, and those legislative hearings hard. She and Lee are crystal clear: the whole “born in the wrong body” idea is nonsense, and they’re not here for it.

The bill’s now headed to the state Senate, so the fight’s far from over.
Oh, and get this: at a heated hearing last month, some Colorado Democrat had the gall to compare concerned parents to the KKK. Classy move, pal. Stay tuned, ‘cause this one’s gonna get messier than a bar fight on dollar-beer night.

Biden does it again in Colorado, and it isn’t funny

Alleged President Joe Biden is losing it. There can be no doubt at this point that his mind is as sharp as water and he says things that highlight his confusion and anemic intellect. There are just some things one doesn’t say as POTUS, but Biden either didn’t get the memo or has reached the point in his senility where reading interrupts his thinking about hair and such.

On Wednesday, the so called President was in Colorado at a manufacturing plant where he bragged about having the code to “blow up the world.” Really, the old codger really said that.

“Now look, my Marine carries that, but it has the code to blow up the world,” Biden said, adding “Nuclear weapons” to clarify his statement.

He was, of course, referring to what is known as the “nuclear football.” It is taken along with the President whenever he is away from fixed command centers, such as the White House Situation Room.

It’s highly unusual for a President to mention the nuclear football and even weirder to brag about the ability to “blow up the world."  The fact that Biden said this publicly shows his inability to self-censor, a common problem among the elderly with dementia.

I predict that he will not run in 2024, in spite of it being a “sure thing” that he will because he said so and he’ the President. I believe there will be unforeseen circumstances that will interfere with him running, or he will simply agree to step away from the election.

Thoughts?

Dem charged with a felony: can get 3 years and $100K fine

Colorado State Senator Pete Lee (D) and chair of the chambers judicial committee was indicted in early August for allegedly lying about where he lives for the purpose of voting. And this dolt is the freaking chair of the judicial committee--it's like a Babylon Bee story.

A grand jury for El Paso County indicted the Democrat, but he denies the charges, according to the Associated Press. The indictment alleges that on March 3, 2020, Lee “voted giving false information regarding the elector’s place of present residence,” the Colorado Sun reported.

Lying about one's residence is a Class 5 felony.

But it isn't as if he had documents on his computer about deals with China, or classified documents that only a President could declassify with just his word. It wasn't as if he video recorded himself smoking crack off the butt of a prostitute or "doing a Toobin" in a swimming pool and recording himself on video. No, it was lying about where he lived so that he could vote.

Lee had no comment when the indictment was handed down but he asked to be taken off the interim committee on judicial discipline because the irony was too ironic.

He wanted “to avoid having my personal circumstances become a distraction," [yadda, yadda] according to a statement, the AP reported.

Lee's lawyer said the case will be vigorously challenged.

Lee can get 3 years in the slammer and a fine of up to $100,000 if found guilty. But unlike Republicans, especially Republican Presidents, a Democrat is innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.

Prisoner released to protect him from Covid murders young mom

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis (D) gave an executive order that eventuated in a prison release that resulted in the murder of a 21-year-old mother. [H/T: Blue Lives Matter]

Polis' executive order granted an early release of a prison inmate to protect him from the coronavirus, however, it did nothing to protect the victim and citizens of Colorado.

But hey, that ought to get Polis the leftist vote come next election because it shows he knows how to virtue signal to his base.

The scumbag in question, Cornelius Haney, 40, was serving a seven-year sentence stemming from an armed robbery charge when he was allowed to walk out of the slammer on April 15, according to WJAX.

“Mr. Haney was released due to special needs parole criteria,” Colorado Department of Corrections (DOC) spokesperson Annie Skinner said in a statement. “When looking at special needs parole criteria, the Department of Corrections’ medical staff reviews offenders for risk factors related to COVID as documented by the Centers for Disease Control.”

It's a good thing they reviewed Haney's risk factor because it did a lot of good for Heather Perry, the mother of two. She had been fatally shot and her body was found in an alley in the 1400 block of North Verbena, the outlet reported.

Surveillance footage helped identify Haney, tracing him to the scene.

Haney, a convicted felon, was located in a motel bathroom two days after Perry was killed. He had two bags of suspected cocaine hidden in the toilet. He had been out of the joint only three weeks before he allegedly killed Ms. Perry, thanks to the assessment of his risk factor, obviously not an exact science.

As to why his risk factor did nothing to warn the Colorado Department of Corrections that letting him loose might be a problem is a mystery. After all, his other convictions included kidnapping, theft, attempted escape and drug charges, and he'd served a separate five-year sentence for felony assault. The guy was a softie--no danger to the public, according to his risk factor.

I mean, c'mon man, do the math.

The dude faces new charges of gun possession by a previous offender, second-degree kidnapping, drug possession, theft, second-degree murder, and felony murder, as reported by the Canon City Daily Record.

On Friday, Colorado Governor Jared Polis confirmed that Haney had been released under his executive order, but argued that he would have gotten out of prison by late summer anyway, so it was no big deal that he was let go.

“He would have had mandatory parole granted in August of this year,” Polis said. “He has been up for parole since 2017.”

Maybe this parole thing also needs to be looked at. The guy was denied parole in the past.

“You get passed over for parole because you’re not complying,” Eighteenth Judicial District Attorney George Brauchler said. “If the Department of Corrections had not cut this guy loose, he would not have murdered this woman. That’s just the fact.”

Polis did not speculate about why the parole board denied Haney’s release for three years, because having speculated on that might have proven his risk factor assessment is as worthless as a degree in lesbian dance theory.

The father of Colo. school shooter a serial felon and illegal alien

Colorado -- El padre of one of the STEM School Highlands Ranch shooters is an illegal alien and a serial felon, the DailyMail.com reported.

Jose Evis Quintana is the papa of the alleged killer, a 16-year-old whose name will not be revealed as it has been determined that giving these shooters publicity tends to create copycat killers. The father had been incarcerated for 15 months for domestic violence against his wife and for "menacing with a weapon."

So the manzana evidently doesn't fall far from the ábol.

Quintana's daughter is a transgender who believes she's a boy. She has been charged with her 18-year-old friend of killing one student and injuring eight others.

According to records, Quintana, 33, has been deported twice and has a long record of arrests in Colorado from 2008 to 2017.

Court papers show that despite Quintana terrorizing the alleged shooter's mother Morgan Lynn McKinney, 32, he managed to convince the co-dependent woman to marry him in 2009, a year before his first deportation.

Quintana, 33, who admitted to having a history of alcohol and drug problems, was sent back to his native Mexico on December 9, 2010.

The transgender 16-year-old had posted a message on social media about missing her father, just 11 days before the Tuesday May 7 shooting which saw her and her friend, an 18-year-old, allegedly kill one student and injure eight others.

Transgender shooter, who was born a girl,  turned 16 on April 14 and wrote on twitter on April 26: 'My mom talking to me about how she hates the new xxxx. Mom: I miss my xxxx can you find him for me. Me: I miss my dad can you find him for me.'

One can easily see how social media has turned the new generation into grammatical illiterates, but that's another story.

In August 2009, Quintana was jailed on a weapon and domestic violence charge against Morgan Lynn McKinney, a hairstylist and lipstick technician.

On August 22, 2008, Quintana was charged with attempting to kidnap, 'menacing' with a weapon, and failing to stop for police, in the same spirit as Beto O'Rourke who ran from them due to being drunk and getting caught.

He was arrested He was jailed on February 3, 2009, pending his trial, when he failed to see a court official.

Court papers said Quintana "wishes to stay in custody since he has a problem with drugs and alcohol."

The court agreed and also allowed Quintana to have supervised visits with his transgender daughter who believes she is a boy, and her siblings in jail, on condition Morgan was not present.

On July 29, 2009, with Quintana in jail pending his trial, Morgan successfully gained permanent custody of their three children.

On September 2009 Quintana was sentenced to 15 months in prison when all the charges against him, apart from "menacing" Morgan with a weapon, were dropped. He was also ordered to undergo domestic violence counseling, but no psychiatric evaluation was ordered, as should have been.

Despite the sentence and the crimes Quintana committed against her, Morgan, proving to be a fully-fledged idiot, married Quintana in Castle Rock on November 28, 2009.

Quintana was finally deported and sent back to Mexico on December 9, 2010.

In divorce papers filed by Morgan on November 19, 2014, Morgan described how Quintana 'has been traveling illegally between Colorado and Mexico' since the deportation.

Morgan was unable to serve Quintana with papers but the court granted her a divorce on May 11, 2015.

On December 27, 2016, police in Castle Rock learned a warrant had been issued against Quintana in New Mexico for domestic violence.

They found him at a house in Castle Rock and arrested him for being a fugitive from justice. He was jailed pending his extradition to New Mexico.

Quintana never made it to New Mexico. On April 21, 2017, he was taken into custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and deported. Democrats were furious, but ICE did their job in spite of the pushback.

On July 4, 2017, his daughter posted on his twitter account "And I wonder why my dad left."

She may have been the victim of bullying at the school. On January 25, 2019, she posted on twitter: 'F**K stem kids i swear to f*****g god," causing Tom Perez to cheer her for her bold language [although he referred to her as a "he."]

It has been revealed five months before the shooting, a district official urged the school's executive director Penelope Eucker to investigate allegations made by a mother who was concerned that student bullying could lead to the next "Columbine."

The December 19 letter said the anonymous parent had raised "concerns about student violence due to a high-pressure environment."

It added that the mother had told Douglas County School Board of Education Director Wendy Vogel by telephone that "many students are suicidal and violent in school. Several students have reported sexual assault and nothing is being done."

The letter referenced an alleged bomb threat and an extremely high drug culture at STEM.

The parent had said she was worried about a repeat of what happened at Columbine High School, where 12 students and one teacher were killed, about five miles northwest of the STEM school.

It was the 25th anniversary for the Columbine massacre on April 16 this year.

The school hired a lawyer and told parents on February 1st that it was looking at taking legal action against the unnamed mother who had made, what turned out to be foretelling accusations.

Imagine, taking legal action against a mother with concerns over the safety of the children in her kid's school.

Colorado school shooters not Trump fans but dug socialism

Image altered to keep this
creep anonymous
The Colorado shooting suspect is not a Trump supporter nor does he like Christians because he believes they "hate gays," because he doesn't know much about Christ and His teachings.

The social media posts by this creep [who shall not be mentioned by name to reduce the chances of copycats] in the STEM School Highlands Ranch shooting in Colorado depict his opposition to "Christians who hate gays," criticism of President Trump, and support for the left-wing Occupy Democrats.

On his now-deleted Facebook account, the murderer, 18, posted:
"You know what I hate? All these Christians who hate gays, yet in the bible, it says in Deuteronomy 17:12-13, if someone doesn’t do what their priest tells them to do, they are supposed to die. It has plenty of crazy stuff like that. But all they get out of it is ‘ewwwwww gays.'"
Does anyone actually know a practicing Christian or Jewish person who has such an attitude toward homosexuals? We are taught to hate the sin, not the sinner.

The other suspect in the shooting, which left one dead and seven wounded, has been identified as in court documents as a 16-year-old girl whose delusion has her believing that she is a boy, and prefers to be called Alec. She also wants the court to use the pronoun "he" to go along with her delusion.

She appeared in court with long, busy hair, half of which was dyed purple. The judges ordered that no images of her could be used by the media.

In 2016, the boy shared a video of late-night host Seth Meyers criticizing President Donald Trump prior to the 2016 election, and had shared an Occupy Democrats post that praised President Barack Obama.

In a post on his Instagram, he posted, "I’m covered in ink and addicted to pain."

Far Left Youth, a group on Twitter using the handle @MarxFolks, tweeted that "one of our admins knew him personally" and that the shooter "had no love for socialism. What was done was evil and totally out of line with any leftist values."

So the shooter loves socialism, but because of what he did, the socialist site lies about it.

Denver 7 reported that because the suspects were under age they stole two handguns from one of their parents. Kendrick Castillo, 18, was killed after charging one of the shooters during the attack. Eight other students were wounded.

Brendan Bialy, a senior who enlisted into the Marine Corps Delayed Entry Program, also charged the shooter and has been credited with stopping the attack.

Democratic state senator's face flushes over women's toilet

A biological male Democrat who may, or may not identify as such, has been accused of repeatedly using the women's restroom. This has been quite disturbing to women Democrats who identify as such and believe that anyone should be allowed to use any restroom if they so choose to identify as whatever, as long as it doesn't involve them being in the restroom at the same time.

State Sen. Daniel Kagan (D-CO) has been accused by female colleagues earlier this year of using the women's restroom. Now the senator, a white male, is resigning in January.

“It’s been a great honor to serve the people of Colorado for just short of a decade,” Kagan said in a statement. “An important obligation of leaders, I believe, is to be open to acknowledging that it’s time to pass the torch to new leadership and, for me, that time is now.”

He wanted to pass that torch along the third bathroom stall but the party refused his request.

Kagan was instrumental in repealing a 19th-century law that criminalized adultery, a law he regarded as giving authorities the power to question people about their personal lives, “which is a gross invasion of privacy that’s fully within the rights of the police right now.” He felt adultery laws are similar to laws about domestic violence--it's private and nobody's business if your spouse just won't listen to your commands. He also doesn't believe that adultery is such a bad thing as long as you don't get caught.

Republican state Sen. Beth Martinez Humenik said several women attested that they saw Kagan using a women’s restroom on multiple occasions since January 2017. Humenik filed a workplace sexual harassment complaint against Kagan in March, which, according to what Democrats claim, should not be a problem if Kagan identifies as a woman while using the women's toilet, or at times when a female state Senator is using the facilities.

Kagan said he’d entered the women’s restroom only once by mistake because it was unlabeled and he couldn't tell if the meme on the door was that of a person in a skirt or a Scotsman wearing a kilt.

The debacle prompted the state Senate to post signs outside its restroom designating “men” and “women,” Denver’s KUSA-TV reported. However, it isn't clear if Kagan is literate because it happened more than once.

“I asked for a public apology to all involved, not a resignation,” Humenik said Wednesday. “We are still waiting on his apology.”

But waiting for an apology from a Democrat is like waiting for the petal of an iris to open, or for John Kerry to go bald.

Colorado GOP spokesman concurred, saying Kagan should have apologized rather than “just resigning to avoid having to look at them.”

Colorado Public Radio reported earlier this year that Kagan, quite ironically, was among a group of Democratic senators who have hypocritically called for the ouster of Republican state Sen. Randy Baumgardner, amid accusations that he groped an aide in 2016. [At least Baumgardner uses the men's room when he has to answer the call of nature.]

“Many butt-slappers and thigh-strokers fancy that they are merely flirting and flattering,” Kagan said before the Senate.

Seriously, he really said that.

Another reason the left sucks socks that smell

Rep. Jovan Melton (D-Colorado) won re-election for the Colorado House AFTER his arrest record resurfaced. The 1999 guilty plea for misdemeanor assault didn't stop Democrats from voting for him.

But neither did his 2008 arrest on another charge of misdemeanor assault which was dropped soon after the incident. Perhaps he didn't hit her quite so hard in this domestic violence incident and was able to convince her to let it go.

So now that his arrest record went public, Melton won his election by his largest margin in his fourth and final election, winning 15,033 votes or 61.89 percent of the total, according to the Secretary of State's website.

Melton was running unopposed then Republicans nominated former Arapahoe County Commissioner Lynn Myers just a few days after The Denver Post reported about his criminal background.

Upon winning, Melton said, "The voters determined one should not be judged on their past."

Actually, upon Melton winning, the voters determined that they don't care a fiddler's flatulence about a person's character, only their party.

Trying to save face, top Democrats in the state House tried to encourage Melton to resign in October due to the "deeply disturbing and very serious" revelations in The Denver Post.

But he didn't.

Melton's arrest in 1999 was for trespassing and harassment related to domestic violence [use your imagination], according to the Boulder County District Attorney's Office. He pleaded guilty to misdemeanor harassment and received a deferred sentence, much like the migrant Muslim doctor in Germany who raped four women and got a suspended sentence. In Melton's case, the judge granted the victim a permanent restraining order against him.

In the 1999 incident, Melton allegedly shouted derogatory vulgar expletives at the victim and was physically violent, according to a police report. The police found no physical evidence of assault, but it might be due to the fact that Melton hits like a Democrat.

Although be pleaded guilty, he later denied any wrongdoing in both arrests, making him a liar at some point.

Due to leftist intersectionality [aka: racism] his fellow legislators and leaders in Denver's black and faith communities rallied around him basically throwing his victim under the proverbial bus.

The funniest part came when former Denver Mayor Wellington Webb said at a news conference, "The Democratic leadership needs to apologize to him and step down themselves," implying that there is no room in the Democratic Party for people who oppose domestic violence.

And the left went after President Trump when he said during his campaign that he could shoot someone on Broadway and get away with it.

Letter to editor suggests POTUS should be executed

If this was about Barack Obama the left would go ballistic. The Denver Post published a letter to the editor suggesting that President Trump should be executed for treason. The letter also criticized Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO) following the president's summit with Vladimir Putin in Helsinki.

Suzanne Gagnon of Lakewood wrote that Soviet spies Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, who gave secrets on the atomic bomb to Moscow, were executed for "far less." This may be due to Gagnon's affinity to the communist nation of Russia who, she may see as deserving to know all about the big bomb.

Her letter came in response to the paper's editorial last week which gave praise to Gardner, saying he "deserves credit" for taking a tough stance against Russia and sponsoring a bill to add Russia to the state sponsor of terror list.

"Sen. Cory Gardner is insipid, at best," the leftist anarchist wrote. "His words are always carefully chosen and, if challenged, their intent open to 'spinning' to his own advantage. No surprise here he didn't call President Donald Trump out by name. [At least Obama and Bill Clinton never chose their words carefully, she didn't add. Of course, there isn't any 'there' there.]

"The legislation he has proposed is weak, not tough; it's simply more wordsmithing," she said. "Gardner is certainly not the only politician I take issue with, but I don't see The Denver Post championing anyone else like you champion Gardner."
Obama to Medvedev: "I'll have more
flexibility after the election"
She compared Trump to the Rosenbergs, who were tried and executed in 1953 for espionage [the same thing Hillary Clinton committed but got a free pass on]. Gagnon said there are "many more actions" that need to be taken against Trump [because he beat Hillary].

Next, the angry Gagnon used the "If it walks like a duck" analogy because she apparently has a rather empty imagination.

"If it walks like a traitor, and talks like a traitor, and acts like a traitor . . . it is a traitor," she wrote. "Ethel and Julius Rosenberg were executed on a basis of far less evidence than is had on Trump and many in his administration."

"Besides being in agreement with the actions recommended in the editorial of July 19, I believe there are many more actions that can and should be taken against Trump to keep him from destroying the U.S.," she said. "If our leader doesn't support any swift, significant pushback against Russian meddling [unlike Obama who sat on his hands while knowing about the meddling] our votes aren't worth much."

Naturally, she offered no reference regarding how Trump acted like a traitor, but she's a leftist and her feelings are all that matters. If you want to talk treason or espionage, think about the fact that Hillary Clinton had an illegal email server that was clearly against the law and Espionage Act and she wiped it clean after it was subpoenaed. That's an actual fact, not speculation, and because of the corrupt former FBI director James Comey, she's still on the campaign trail in her mumu.

Compass Colorado, a conservative nonprofit organization, points out that the editorial is in line with the "increasingly violent tone" of political rhetoric on the left.

It would be like me suggesting that anyone who speaks out against a sitting president, asking for his or her execution, should themselves be put to death for seditious and treasonous behavior.

"The mere fact the Denver Post would publish a letter to the editor with this type of language speaks to both the increasingly violent tone of liberals in Colorado politics and the desperation of the Post for readership," said Kelly Maher, executive director of Compass Colorado.

"This trend of violent language in Colorado is deeply concerning," Maher said. "Just a few months ago the Boulder Daily Camera published a letter to the editor asking if citizens have a moral responsibility to take arms against oil and gas well workers, and the liberal group ProgressNow Colorado tweeted out a picture of Senator Cory Gardner with blood on his hands after a shooting, and now this Denver Post letter."

Yes, liberals never take responsibility for their own actions but blame their violence on the target--not unlike an abusive spouse or Antifa.

"This violent and divisive rhetoric will do nothing to change hearts or minds, it's designed to entrench and inflame," Maher said.

BREAKING: SCOTUS rules in favor of Christian baker

The Supreme Court ruled Monday in favor of Jack Phillips, the Colorado baker who refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex couple.

In a 7 - 2 decision, SCOTUS set aside a previous Colorado court ruling against the baker, but did not decide the broader issue as to whether a business can refuse to serve gays and lesbians. Nor does it deal with whether a transgender man who marries a transgender woman can be refused service.

The opinion was written by Justice Anthony Kennedy, often the swing vote in tight cases. [Kennedy tends to swing both ways judicially.]

The narrow ruling focused only on what the court described as anti-religious bias on the Colorado Civil Rights Commission when it ruled against the baker.

"The Commission's hostility was inconsistent with the First Amendment's guarantee that our laws be applied in a manner that is neutral toward religion," Kennedy wrote.

The two justices who dissented were Ruth Bader Ginsberg and Sonia Sotomayer, both who have souls as black as the nether regions of George Soros.

The court said the broader issue "must await further elaboration."

"The reason and motive for the baker's refusal were based on his sincere religious beliefs and convictions. The Court's precedents make clear that the baker, in his capacity as the owner of a business serving the public, might have his right to the free exercise of religion limited by generally applicable laws. Still, the delicate question of when the free exercise of his religion must yield to an otherwise valid exercise of state power needed to be determined in an adjudication in which religious hostility on the part of the State itself would not be a factor in the balance the State sought to reach," Kennedy wrote.

It all began in July 2012 when Charlie Craig and David Mullins of Denver visited Masterpiece Cakeshop to buy a custom-made wedding cake for their homosexual wedding. Phillips, a religious Christian, refused their service, not because they were gay, (he never refused to serve gays or lesbians in the past) but because his religion does not condone same-sex marriage.

The state civil rights commission sanctioned Phillips after the gay men, rather than going elsewhere for their cake, filed a formal complaint.

Mullins described their case as symbolizing "the rights of gay people to receive equal service in business . . . about basic access to public life."

The case also symbolized the 'rights of gay people override the rights of religious beliefs.' And that the LGBTQ community can force someone to provide a service that goes against their moral beliefs.

The Trump administration supported Phillips, who was represented in court by the Alliance Defending Freedom, a conservative Christian nonprofit organization. But Phillips lost all his legal appeals, bringing the case to the Supreme Court's decision Monday.

In all the time this has been going on, Phillips lost his business and had to let employees go.

Phillips was clear as to why he refused to bake the cake: "It's not about turning away these customers, it's about doing a cake for an event--a religious sacred event--that conflicts with my conscience," he said last year.

The court specifically examined whether applying Colorado's public accommodations law which compelled the baker to crate commercial "expression" violated his constitutionally protected Christian beliefs regarding marriage.

Upon hearing the arguments in December, Justice Kennedy was bothered by certain comments by a commission member. Kennedy said that the commissioner seemed "neither tolerant nor respectful of Mr. Phillips' religious beliefs."

Probably due to the fact that the court's decision today was so narrow, liberal justices Stephen Breyer and Elena Kagan joined with the conservative justices while Sotomayor and Ginsberg refused.

Liberal Governor pardons felon from being deported

High in Denver -- Leftist Governor John Hickenlooper (D-CO) pardoned a Cuban immigrant felon and is so confident he made the right decision, he's having him stay at his house until he can get back on his feet and find a way to get his hands on some cash.

Just kidding.

The pardon was for Rene Lima-Marin, 38, a man convicted of armed robbery committed 19 years ago. He came to the U.S. as a toddler as part of the 1980 Mariel boat lift from Cuba and had his legal residency revoked in 2000 due to his criminal conviction. He was sentenced to 98 years in prison for the robbery, but somehow was mistakenly paroled from Colorado state prison in 2008.

Lima-Marin married, had a child and got a job installing glass. But in 2014, state authorities removed their heads from their nether regions and realized their mistake for releasing him from prison. They sent him back to finish out the remainder of his 98 year sentence.

A judge ordered Lima-Marin to be released from prison, saying it would be "draconian" to keep him locked up. However, before he could return home to his loving wife and adorable child, mean immigration authorities spirited him away, citing a still-active deportation order from 2000.

Talk about efficiency.

Lima-Marin's law team said that only a pardon could stave off deportation.

So low and behold, Hickenlooper, along with bipartisan support of the 98 members of the state Assembly, granted the man clemency.

(Remind me to play the number 98 on the Scratchoff.)

"This was a question of justice," Hickenlooper said at a news conference. "This was a pretty clear example of someone who's done all the work necessary to earn a second chance."

It is still uncertain whether the pardon will stop the deportation, but after Lima-Marin's years of good behavior, and the young age at which he committed the crime, I think he deserves a second chance--let's hope President Trump does too.

District Attorney George Brauchler, who is running against Hickenlooper for governor, and whose office prosecuted Lima-Marin, said the governor didn't give prosecutors time to review the pardon application as required by state law.

Sounds like Brauchler is trying to discredit the governor for his own political gain at the expense of a man's future--kind of a crummy move.

Carl Rusnok, an ICE spokesman, and a man not running for political office, said that Hickenlooper's pardon alone wouldn't stop the deportation. "Rene Michael Lima Marin currently has final orders of removal from a federal immigration judge," he said in a statement.

[Hint, hint, Mr. Trump.]

Hans Meyer, Lima-Marin's attorney, said he would file motions to vacate that order. "We're incredibly grateful to the governor for a just and fair solution," the smart, Jewish lawyer said. "This is a tremendous first step."

Jason Kasperek, a man known to hold a grudge and the assistant manager at the Blockbuster Video store Lima-Marin and an accomplice robbed in 1998, said that Lima-Marin should be back in prison.

"I just think that it's scandalous how he used the system," Kasperek said as he recalled how the pair held a rifle to his head and forced him to open the store safe. "I think it's completely ridiculous. It's unjust for all victims who have been involved in it."

The Blockbuster was one of two video stores he and Michael Clifton robbed. Both were convicted on multiple robbery, kidnapping and burglary counts.

Clifton is still in prison serving his 98-year sentence.

Kasperek makes a good point. Why not Clifton?

Lima-Marin had been in immigration detention before this recent development. After his 2008 parole, immigration authorities held him for 180 days, but Cuba would not accept anymore people who had arrived on the Mariel boat lift as deportees. Thus, Lima-Marin was released, but continued to check in with immigration authorities regularly, his wife Jasmine said.

When Obama ended the "wet foot-dry foot" policy that protected Cuban immigrants who'd arrived here, it opened the door for more Cubans from the Mariel boat lift to be deported.

We have to ask ourselves whether Lima-Marin is so smart that he married Jasmine and had a child as part of an elaborate plan to stay out of prison and stay out of Cuba too.

I doubt it.

Most criminals, not all but most, aren't that bright nor have the foresight to plan that far ahead in life. I believe Lima-Marin falls in that category.

But if he commits even one more crime, big or small, he needs to go.

Do you agree?

Colo. sexual assault may be hate crime

Aurora, CO. -- A sexual assault in Aurora on Friday may have been a racially-motivated hate crime.

Law enforcement officials say a woman was attacked Friday morning at the Mission Viejo Plaza Shopping Center by two black men. The 23-year-old woman, who is white, said they were yelling racial slurs before fleeing.

Aurora police would not comment on whether the case is being classified as a bias-related attack.

"I'm afraid; I'm scared," said Mirna Ontiveros, who works at the shopping center. She told the media that she had been recently robbed at gunpoint, and despite the area surveillance cameras, she would still like to see a greater police presence.

"I really hope they find them because we don't feel safe. And I hope she's okay [the victim] and hopefully we'll have more protection in the area," she said.

Currently, there are no suspects and no leads, but the search continues.

Police are canvassing the area and going through surveillance video.

Muslim workers fired after walking off job

Cargill Meat Solutions in Fort Morgan, Colorado, has fired 190 Somali Muslims who walked off the job last week because the company refused to bend over backwards to accomodate their demands.

A Cargill spokesman said, "There has been a desire among some employees to go in larger groups of people to pray. We just can't accommodate that. It backs up the flow of all the production. We're a federally inspected USDA inspected plant. We have to ensure food safety. We have to ensure the products we produce meet consumer expectations."

Balderdash! Muslims believe they come first and must be accommodated before the infidel public. The company better take heed.

The truth is, prayer times in Islam are rather flexible and missed prayers can be made up later. Thus, there should be no doubt that a ploy such as this is merely an Islamic supremacist act to secure special perks for Muslims.

If this was the first time that Muslims asked for special privileges, I wouldn't have wasted time writing about it, but it isn't. A Muslim trucker refused to deliver beer because of his religion and was awarded a ton of cash. Read about it in the PJ Media article--it's a hoot.

The bottom line is this: when our laws come in conflict with Islamic law, even when the latter allows for flexibility, it's our law that must bow toward Mecca.

One has to give Cargill some credit. They tried to resolve the dispute with the Somali demands, but in the end, the Muslims refused to bend and out they went to collect unemployment and perhaps wage legal jihad with Cargill.

The firings of the workers came after they failed to report for work for three consecutive days last week to protest what they claimed were changes in times allowed for Muslim prayer. Remember, even Islamic scholars agree that prayer time (salat) can be flexible according to the circumstances. The workers know this but refuse to be flexible in order to show Islam's superiority over the infidel world.

Cargill said it made a "reasonable attempt" to give religious accommodation for all their employees at the Fort Morgan plant without interrupting the operations of the facility.

"At no time did Cargill prevent people from prayer at Fort Morgan," Michael Martin, a spokesman for the company said. "Nor have we changed policies related to religious accommodation and attendance. This has been mischaracterized."

Naturally, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas-linked organization, will step in to represent the fired jihadists, in spite of the fact that their complaints with Cargill were vague and centered around space and time provided to pray. CAIR specializes in legal jihad and uses "lawfare" to get what they want.

And what they eventually want, and are willing to wait for, is a world caliphate.

Bad judgment or simple stupidity: Hillary will not say

Platte River Networks' apartment building
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton continues to deny having sent or received classified information on her private Platte River Networks bathroom closet server belonging to a Denver-based IT company.

Clinton hired the "mom and pop op" back in 2013 when she thought it best to maintain Obama-like transparency and avoid scandals. Well how'd that work out fer ya Hill?

For Hillary Clinton. the US Secretary of State, to choose Platte River Networks to store her sensitive and confidential government email, is like Caitlyn Jenner choosing Chuck E. Cheese as her wedding site.

A former employee Tera Dadiotis of Platte River Networks told The Daily Mail that "At the time I worked for them they wouldn't have been equipped to work for Hillary Clinton because I don't think they had the resources, they were based out of a loft, so [it was] not very high security, we didn't even have an alarm." She worked for the company from 2007 - 2010.

"We were like your local IT company," Dadiotis said, "nothing special or fancy, we had a really good reputation but that was on a local level."

The only "little bit o' trouble" Platte River Networks has is that it was sued for stealing dozens of phone lines, some of which were used by the White House. Coincidence or Clintonence?

The company is said to have illegally accessed the master database for all US phone numbers and seized 390 lines that totally threw the government into a fisherman's bird's nest. Some of the phone numbers that suddenly stopped working were to White House military support desks, the DoD and the Department of Energy, according to the lawsuit. I suspect there will be more to follow on this.

The State Department has had Hillary's back for months on her claim that she didn't send or receive classified information on the toilet server, clearly going against government policy and common good sense.

The State Department is now stamping several dozen of the publicly released emails as "Classified" but stresses that it isn't evidence of rule-breaking, only abject stupidity, and that's should never disqualify a liberal from running for office.

Further details included in those "Classified" stamps, including dates, letters and numbers describing the nature of the classification, tend to throw a monkey wrench into the claims and the stuff is flying off the proverbial fan as I write this.

The stamps show that some of Benghazi-Hill's emails as Secretary of State have information that would deem them "born" classified from the time they were written. So far only 30 of the few scrutinized emails from 2009 include what the State Department's "Classified" stamps identify as so-called 'foreign government information,' which, due to the government definition that says any information, written or spoken, provided in confidence to U.S. officials by their foreign counterparts, are classified at the 'get-go.' In other words, they need to be presumed confidential at the very least.

The State Department disputes these claims but are still trying to come up with why these claims don't hold water.

Anyone who still thinks Hillary Clinton should be allowed to run for president, does not have the best interests of the nation at heart.

At least the FBI isn't acting like it's baffled by this bull-jack and are continuing to conduct their investigation.

One thing learned thus far is that Hillary sent at least 17 of the 30 email threads herself that have been reviewed by Reuters. At least one of those emails was to Sidney Blumenthal, a non-government person who is not eligible to receive the email.

In another email, the principal private secretary to David Miliband, the British foreign secretary at the time, indicates in the text that he is sending information about Afghanistan from Miliband in confidence. This was sent to Huma Abedin Weiner, Hillary's senior aide and a person with close ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and Muslim Students Association. He writes to Huma that Miliband "very much wants the Secretary (only) to see this note."

The note had about 5 fully redacted pages of information and Huma Abedin sent it to Clinton's private bathroom closet server.

I suspect that after Miliband thanked Hillary, China and Russia quietly thanked Platte River Networks.

Yo Dude, Don't Bogart the Bong

Well, today is the first official workday of the new year and the first day that marijuana can be purchased legally in Colorado, dude. Many conservatives think that it's a terrible thing to legalize pot, but did you know that there was a time in our history when drugs like heroin, opium and pot were legal and alcohol wasn't? Yes, that was Prohibition.

Everything is Political

Nothing anyone can say will get by without offending someone. Everything seems to be politicized lately. Everything bothers at least one group of people.

The latest Colorado school shooter was a socialist. Phil Robertson is homophobic, in spite of the fact that he used to bible to make his statement about gays. The Washington Redskins name is an insult to native Americans who used to be called Indians but that offended people from India and Indians born here. The New York and San Francisco Giants offends little people who used to be called midgets but were offended by that title. The Broncos, Panthers, and Jaguars probably offends PETA, an organization who likes critters more than they like people. Everyone is so easily offended about everything.
