JoAnna Mendoza (D) Definitely Doesn't Support Defunding the Police, She Just Cashes Checks From Groups That Do

The presumptive Democratic nominee in Arizona's Sixth Congressional District, comrade JoAnna Mendoza, is heroically attempting to distance herself from her past comments calling to defund police. At the same time, she's holding fundraisers with far-left groups that have called to defund police, the conservative outlet, The Washington Free Beacon review found. 

Consistency is for losers, after all.

On Friday, for example, Mendoza headlined a big-ticket fundraiser in Los Angeles's affluent Brentwood neighborhood, cohosted by the Heart of LA Democratic Club. The club, which describes its mission as "championing feminist leadership and women's full representation in politics and policy," repeatedly backed the Defund the Police movement. 

In a since-deleted June 2020 tweet, it praised the Los Angeles Black Lives Matter chapter's "compelling presentation to LA City Council on defunding the police" as "a big step towards progress." The club backed a bill to defund police around the same time, and one of its officers, Sarah Kate Levy, said she "see[s] clearly the need to defund." 

She says, "I don't support defunding the police" while raising money with people who do.

Months earlier, in January, Mendoza held another Brentwood fundraiser with the Los Angeles-based Stonewall Democratic Club, which signed a 2020 letter calling for the "divestment of public funding from police" and a resolution calling for "budget reallocation" from police departments "to programs that end systemic, abusive, and unlawful use of lethal force on Black and Brown People." The move, the group said, was about joining "the struggle to end white supremacy, institutional racism, individual bigotry, and mass denial." 

Mendoza, of course, was just there for the finger food, and definitely not the ideology. 

The fundraisers come as Mendoza attempts to distance herself from her prior support for anti-police policies in her campaign against incumbent Republican congressman Juan Ciscomani in a district President Donald Trump carried narrowly in 2024. In 2020, when the comrade ran unsuccessfully for Arizona's State Senate, an audience member at a virtual town hall asked her whether she would "defund the police," to which she replied that she supports "the reallocation of funding" away from law enforcement. 

Reallocation. Such a gentle, non-threatening word for taking money from cops and giving it to someone else.

"Police reform is just one aspect of addressing systemic racism in our nation, and specifically here in Arizona," Mendoza said. "I support the reallocation of funding to programs that would allow people to live their best lives, such as the social service programs, such as housing, public education, health care, ensuring that we're addressing economic stability and environmental safety." 

In that same virtual town hall, Mendoza accused police officers of violating their "oath to protect and serve their communities" and appeared to justify the anti-police riots that swept the United States following George Floyd's death. "There are hundreds, hundreds of deaths at the hands—murders—at the hands of police brutality," she said. "And so what we're seeing right now from folks is we're seeing the demand for change through the protests, through the civil unrest. We are seeing that folks no longer trust law enforcement agencies who, by the way, have taken an oath to protect and serve their communities and have clearly violated that oath time and time again."

When Fox News reported on Mendoza's comments in March, her campaign lied that she "has been on the record for years that police need MORE resources to do their jobs, not less, including body cameras and training," adding that "she has repeatedly stated that she does not support defunding the police."

Mendoza also attempted to walk back her comments about the "reallocation of funding" several months following her initial remarks, saying during a different town hall that she did "not support defunding the police." The Arizona Police Association endorsed Ciscomani in May, not long after the "reallocation" video came to light. Apparently the cops can read. 

Policing is not the only area of inconsistency for Mendoza. Shortly after the Free Beacon reported that she had a net worth of up to $4.7 million, according to her 2025 financial disclosure, Mendoza issued a new financial disclosure claiming she is worth no more than $336,000. The new filing also revealed that she had concealed ownership of a rental property in Tucson worth between $250,000 and $500,000. 

This is how socialism works: those in power have the money while everyone else is equal . . .  equally poor.

Seattle Discovers Firing Police Chief Creates Exactly One New Emergency

In a shocking development that absolutely no one outside Seattle City Hall could have predicted, Seattle Mayor and Democrat comrade, Katie Wilson, has managed to turn one public safety disaster into two.

Police Chief Shon Barnes is out. Officially, he "resigned." In political English, that usually means someone politely handed him a cardboard box and had him escorted toward the exit.

Barnes took the fall after the chaotic response to last weekend's Bite of Seattle shooting that left three people dead. Unfortunately, being the city's top cop while spending significant time somewhere else apparently tested even Seattle's famously flexible workplace standards.

According to KOMO News:

After multiple Seattle City Council members told KOMO News that Mayor Katie Wilson asked Seattle Police Chief Shon Barnes to resign Wednesday night, and that the mayor has confirmed to the council that there will be a "transition" in the Chief's office, the mayor's office officially released a statement announcing the resignation Thursday.

The mayor is appointing Deputy Chief Andre Sayles as Interim Chief of the Seattle Police Department, the announcement said.

"Chief Barnes has served this department and this city with dedication, and I am grateful for his service," said Mayor Wilson. "The courage and professionalism that the officers of the Seattle Police Department showed deserves to be honored. I share Chief Barnes' hope that we can return our focus to addressing youth gun violence and ensuring that every family can feel safe in their neighborhood and across the city."

Seattle then immediately remembered it is Seattle.

Rather than debating whether the city's leadership failed to keep residents safe, the political conversation quickly shifted to whether firing a Black police chief was itself the real crisis. Black civil rights leaders reportedly confronted Wilson, demanding answers and hoping she would reverse course.

Apparently, in modern progressive governance, every personnel decision comes with a complimentary identity politics audit.

Wilson now finds herself trapped in the classic progressive paradox. If crime goes unchecked, voters complain. If she fires the official responsible, activists complain. If she hires another police chief, someone will probably demand the position be abolished altogether.

Democrats Scramble to Replace One Embarrassing Candidate With Guy Who Had Kids With His Second Cousin

[COUSIN] BANGOR, ME — The Democratic Party, ever the champions of normalcy and family values, has once again demonstrated its unmatched talent for candidate selection. 

After Graham "HH" Platner withdrew from the Maine Senate race amid a rape allegation (which he called "categorically false"), party leaders tapped Troy Jackson as their shiny new replacement. A Maine Wire report soon revealed that Jackson and his high school sweetheart share the same great-grandparents, and the couple has two adult sons together. 

But at least they aren't siblings like Ilhan Omar.

Jackson, a former state senator and failed gubernatorial candidate, was formally nominated at the Maine Democratic Party's U.S. Senate Nominating Convention earlier this month. The report noted that such relationships are not uncommon in northern rural Maine and remain perfectly legal, a detail that only heightened the internet's reaction.  

Conservatives wasted no time celebrating the party's latest personnel decision."Can’t wait for Democrats to defend cousin marriage!," Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), posted on X.

"If you thought Platner was a freak - meet Troy Jackson," former White House press secretary Sean Spicer posted on X.

"WTF?! Maine’s new Democratic Senate candidate Troy Jackson is in a ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP with his COUSIN, and has TWO CHILDREN with her. THIS is the guy the Democrat Party swapped Graham Platner out for," conservative influencer Nick Sortor posted on X.

I have no idea WTF stands for but it sounds bad.

"The Democrats are having a REALLY tough time finding candidates who aren’t total freaks," Sortor added.

"Troy Jackson's 'partner' is his second cousin, according to genealogical records found in Maine. Which means his kids are also his third cousins. Who said Democrats were anti-family?" Drew Berkemeyer, a writer for the Daily Wire, posted on X.

In a post on X, Independent Women's Forum Senior Policy Analyst Inez Stepman wrote, "Second cousins seem like relevant information here. But it is funny that Dems keep selecting candidates who fit the vicious stereotypes they hold about rural or working-class people: beats women, hooks up with cousin, etc."

"It's truly hysterical how Democrats can't seem to find one normal dude to run for office," conservative commentator Greg Price posted on X. The Republican account on X also posted, "Wellness check on Maine Democrats."

The Jackson campaign responded by changing the subject, telling Fox News Digital: "Susan Collins will do anything to distract from the fact that she votes with Trump 96% of the time and has sold out working people in Maine. Personal attacks on Troy's family are shameful and desperate."

Jackson will face incumbent Republican Sen. Susan Collins on Nov. 3 as Republicans work to protect their 53-47 Senate majority. In the meantime, Maine Democrats continue their proud tradition of proving that when it comes to finding candidates free of personal baggage, they remain the gold standard of political incompetence.

AOC Opposes Abolishing Senate Because She Still Needs Somewhere To Call Everything 'Jim Crow': here's some facts of which she is oblivious

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez clarified Thursday that she does not support her fellow Democratic Socialists' plan to abolish the U.S. Senate, explaining that it would be far too difficult to eliminate an institution before first accusing it of every historical crime ever committed.

Speaking with reporters on Capitol Hill, the New York congresswoman declined to endorse the Democratic Socialists of America's latest wish list, which includes abolishing the Senate, replacing the presidency with a prime minister, restructuring the judiciary, and apparently seeing how many pages of the Constitution can be fed into a paper shredder before lunch.

"That is, of course, a constitutional question," Ms. Ocasio-Cortez told reporters, acknowledging that even revolutionary manifestos occasionally run into inconvenient details like the Constitution.

While stopping short of supporting the Senate's elimination, Ocasio-Cortez made it clear she still considers the chamber historically suspect.

"We've all got our complaints," she said. "I don't support the filibuster. I don't support elements of this institution that we know were founded on Jim Crow."

[The term 'Jim Crow' comes from a 19th century minstrel show character, Thomas Dartmouth "Daddy" Rice. He performed in blackface [see also Jimmy Kimmel, and Justin Trudeau] singing to "Jump Jim Crow," where he portrayed a stereotypical buffoonish Black man. Thus, the name "Jim Crow" became a derogatory slur for Black people, and by the end of the 19th century it was even applied to the segregation laws. 

After the Civil War and the 13th Amendment ended slavery (1865) Democratic Southern states continued to limit the freedoms of Black people by passing Jim Crow laws (1870s - 1960s). 

When federal troops withdrew from the South in 1877 (as part of the Compromise of 1877 that ended Reconstruction), Southern Democrats regained full control and systematically rolled back Black political and civil rights gained during Reconstruction. By the 1880s to the 1890s the South went nuclear with Jim Crow laws. Public transportation, restaurants, schools, parks, hospitals and restrooms, were segregated. Interracial marriages were outlawed and there were poll taxes, literacy tests, grandfather clauses, and additional roadblocks to disenfranchise Black voters [until they started voting for Democrats].

But by the mid-20th  century, Jim Crow laws began crumbling. In 1954 Brown v. Board of Education was the start, followed by the Montgomery Bus Boycott ignited by Rosa Parks, the sit-ins of the 1960s; the 1964 Civil Rights Act, which banned public segregation and employment discrimination; and finally the 1965 Voting Rights Act that outlawed discriminatory voting practices.

During the entire Jim Crow era, (approximately 1877 to the mid-1960s) it was the Democratic Party's Southern wing that was responsible for creating, passing, defending and enforcing Jim Crow laws.

For example, President Wilson, a Democrat, segregated the federal workforce in 1913. And the Southern Democrats dominated Congress for decades and used seniority and the filibuster to block civil rights legislation; not the Republicans who fought against it. By 1948, Southern Democrats broke away from the Dixiecrat party in order to defend segregation. 

Meanwhile, Republicans were generally supportive of civil rights at this period. So Black voters in the South overwhelmingly supported the GOP in the late 19th and early 20th centuries as national Republicans overwhelmingly opposed Jim Crow measures. 

When the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Voting Rights Act of 1965 were signed by Democrat Lyndon B. Johnson, it faced strong opposition from Southern Democrats in Congress and it was the Republicans that provided the crucial votes to overcome filibusters. However, this realigned the two parties as the Democrats took credit for both Acts and Black voters in the South, began voting Democratic. 

Bottom line: Jim Crow was a Southern Democratic project. While not every Democrat supported it (especially many Northern ones later on), the political machinery that built and maintained the system was overwhelmingly in Democratic hands in the South for nearly a century.]

Historians reportedly spent several hours trying to determine exactly how Congress, an institution created in 1789 managed to be "founded on Jim Crow," which emerged nearly a century later, before concluding that modern political rhetoric no longer observes the constraints of linear time.

The Democratic Socialists' platform also calls for replacing the presidency with a parliamentary system, making the judiciary subordinate to Congress, ending American support for Israel, and prosecuting U.S. and Israeli leaders for what it describes as "genocide in Gaza." Political observers noted that the platform appears to have been assembled by asking, "What if Reddit moderated the Federalist Papers?"

Constitutional scholars pointed out that abolishing the Senate would require an amendment approved by two thirds of Congress and ratified by three quarters of the states, making the proposal only slightly more realistic than getting every member of Congress to voluntarily delete their social media accounts.

Although Ocasio-Cortez has been floated as a potential 2028 presidential candidate with support from the DSA, she insisted she is not currently running for another office.

"I could run for dog catcher," she said with a chuckle. "So I think any situation is hypothetical."

Sources confirmed that within minutes, several progressive activists demanded the office of dog catcher also be abolished because golden retrievers have historically benefited from systemic privilege.

Top Democrat Heroically Explains Virginia Election Law To Actual Virginia Voter, Gets Corrected Immediately

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Democrats continued their proud tradition of lecturing America about democracy while displaying only a passing acquaintance with reality after Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA) confidently misrepresented his own state's voter ID law on live television.

The remarkable performance came during ABC's This Week, where Warner attacked President Trump's election security agenda and denounced Republican support for the SAVE America Act, all while accidentally demonstrating why voters are increasingly skeptical of politicians who insist they alone are the guardians of truth.

Host and alleged journalist, Jonathan Karl, asked the Virginia senator whether Democrats should simply embrace photo voter ID, given that overwhelming majorities of Americans support it.

"You know what? In Virginia, we have voter voter ID and photo ID," Warner declared with the confidence of a man who had clearly spent several seconds thinking about the subject and taking a long shot,

Karl, who apparently knew more about Virginia election law than Virginia's senior senator, politely interrupted the lesson.

"That's actually not the case," Karl replied. "I mean, I'm a Virginia voter. You don't need to show a photo ID in Virginia. There are a wide range of things you can show for ID. And if you don't show one of those, you can sign an affidavit." Karl was referring to library cards, credit cards, Blockbuster membership cards and the like. In other words, you don't need to produce actual photo ID.

Sources say producers briefly considered replacing Warner with a random DMV employee, who statistically had a better chance of knowing the law.

Undeterred by the embarrassing correction, Warner quickly shifted to the classic Washington strategy of redefining what he meant after saying something demonstrably balderdash. He insisted Virginia still has "voter ID of one form or another" before racing back to his prepared talking points about Republican election reforms.

Political analysts noted that Democrats have become remarkably consistent in arguing that voter ID laws are simultaneously racist, unnecessary, and already the law everywhere. [Isn't everything the Left disagrees with racist?]

Virginia law, meanwhile, stubbornly refuses to cooperate with Warner's version of events. Voters may present various forms of identification, [see above examples] and those without acceptable ID can simply sign an ID Confirmation Statement and cast a regular ballot. A photo ID is not required.

The irony grew even richer considering Warner serves as the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, where members are generally expected to distinguish between verified facts and things they vaguely remember from a campaign memo.

Warner went on to insist, "The SAVE Act is about voter disenfranchisement. The SAVE Act is going to take anybody that changed their name when they got married. They don't get to vote unless they go back and find [proof of a name change]."

He also claimed, "The irony here would be the case if you can show any photo that is government stamped would be fine. Certain states will say we're going to let you show your … NRA gun license but you can't show your student ID."

Election law experts noted that reality once again refused to cooperate. While some states accept qualifying handgun carry permits, many of those same states also accept qualifying student IDs under specified conditions.

At the present time, Democratic leaders had announced a new initiative encouraging elected officials to spend at least five minutes reading the laws they denounce before appearing on national television, though insiders cautioned the proposal faced stiff opposition for placing an unreasonable burden on public servants.

Mamdani Discovers Crime Stats Improve Dramatically If You Explain Them Long Enough

New York City Mayor comrade Zohran Mamdani found himself taking incoming fire Monday after offering what may become the Left's newest crime-fighting strategy: explaining away bad statistics until everyone forgets why they were worried in the first place. That tactic is known in the military as "baffle them with your bullsht."

During an interview with PIX11 News, Mamdani was asked about concerns over rising rape and felony assault numbers raised by New York City Council Speaker Julie Menin. Rather than promising tougher enforcement or more police, the mayor reached for a familiar progressive comfort blanket, context.

"And what I think is important to know is a lot of the increase in rape also comes from an expanded definition of what counts as rape, as well as survivors coming forward for acts that took place years prior," Mamdani said. "And we are thankful for them coming forward, the courage and the bravery it takes, but just to provide New Yorkers with that context."

Translation: don't believe your lying statistics.

To be fair, Mamdani also pointed out that murders and shootings remain among the lowest on record. Unfortunately for New Yorkers, that reassurance landed about as well as telling someone their apartment fire isn't so bad because the kitchen is still standing.

Even some Democrats were less than thrilled with the explanation.

New York City Council member Susan Zhuang wrote on X, "Expanding the legal definition of rape was an important step toward recognizing more survivors under the law. But it should never be used to deflect from the responsibility to reduce sexual violence. Survivors deserve leadership, action, accountability, and justice. They don’t deserve deflection."

Women's sports advocate Riley Gaines summed up the reaction with a question many were already asking: "HOW did women vote for this guy?"

Rep, Chip Roy (R-TX), offered his own assessment: "Rapes are up. Rents are up. Foreign diseases and parasites spreading. Historic Churches burning left and right. Elect the third world, get the third world."

OutKick founder Clay Travis piled on with, "Sure, New York City rents hit an all time record high today, but at least the mayor is still very eloquent on social medi…whoops!"

RedState writer Bonchie simply observed, "Going great."

Pro-Israel activist Lizzy Savetzky added, "Didn’t realize rape had a dynamic definition."

Substack writer Jim Treacher quipped, "No wonder these guys saw no problem with Platner."

Mamdani's reference to an "expanded definition" appears to point to New York's Rape is Rape Act, signed by Gov. Kathy Hochul in 2024. The law broadened the legal definition of rape to include forms of nonconsensual sexual assault beyond vaginal penetration.

That explanation, however, leaves one awkward detail. The law took effect in September 2024, yet the NYPD's latest CompStat report still shows rapes up 6.6 percent compared with the same period last year, well after the legal definition had already changed.

Apparently, in progressive governance, reality is just another statistic waiting for the proper explanation.

Ro Khanna pulls a Greta Thunberg with his camera crew and NY Times "reporter"

Last Wednesday California Democrat Ro Khanna took a page from the Greta Thunberg coloring book and arranged his own capture. This time the villains were not the Taliban but Israeli settlers in the West Bank, as if that was a real thing.

The leftist congressman, probably wearing facial makeup, wandered down a road closed to civilians. He had a camera crew and New York Times reporter in tow, creating the ideal conditions for a political stunt that collapsed faster than a Karen having 'the vapors.'

Khanna had skipped meetings with October 7 survivors and passed on any briefing about Israel’s actual border threats. He was far too busy chasing a dramatic capture in what he hoped would be some violent event.

When the footage finally dropped the so-called hostage video turned out to be as calm as Hindu cows.

The obvious goal was to gin up anti-Israel hatred at home and float a 2028 presidential bid. Behold the circus.

Even New Jersey Democratic Rep. Josh Gottheimer called him out: "Let’s be honest, this was a publicity stunt. Iran Tells America to Stop Being Mean Before It Agrees to Another Deal

Araghchi gets caught picking nose, pretends to be scratching it

One of the more amusing traditions of modern diplomacy is watching the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism lecture the United States about proper etiquette. It is a bit like being scolded on table manners by a burglar climbing through your kitchen window.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi took to X on Tuesday to announce that "negotiations on a final deal will not commence" if the United States continues making military threats. Apparently, the regime that has spent decades funding terrorist proxies, chanting "Death to America," and pursuing regional domination has suddenly become very sensitive about harsh language.

Araghchi insisted that "Para 13 of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is clear. Negotiations on final Deal (sic) will not commence if threats continue."

Then came the wonderfully indignant command: "Honor your signature."

There is something almost poetic about hearing representatives of the Islamic Republic lecture America about honoring agreements. This is, after all, the same regime that has treated international commitments as Dad jokes whenever they stood in the way of its ambitions. But now Washington is expected to speak softly while Tehran pockets concessions.

Paragraph 13 of the memorandum states that the United States and Iran are committed to implementing a ceasefire, lifting the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, waiving sanctions, and unfreezing restricted assets before broader negotiations begin.

It adds, "The United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran will start negotiations regarding the final deal exclusively on the other paragraphs."

The timing of Araghchi's warning was hardly mysterious. He appeared to be responding to President Donald Trump's remarks on Monday when Trump reminded Tehran that America still possesses both patience and overwhelming military power that can 'bomb the crap' out of Iran if we so choose.

"We're going to make a deal, or we're going to finish the job," Trump said.

That is called leverage. It is also what happens when the world's strongest military negotiates with a regime that has spent years mistaking Western weakness for virtue.

Araghchi attempted to project confidence by declaring, "Millions of proud Iranians rallied in unity to honor Grand Ayatollah Khamenei and his legacy. Neither they nor our Brave Armed Forces are moved by any threats."

Governments that are truly unafraid rarely feel compelled to announce it. History has a funny way of exposing the difference between confidence and propaganda.

America should remember a lesson that has too often been forgotten. Peace is preserved not by pretending tyrants are misunderstood partners. Peace comes when America's adversaries understand that our promises mean something, our patience has limits, and our strength is more than a talking point. 

If Tehran finds that intimidating, perhaps the problem is not the tone coming from Washington. Perhaps it is finally realizing that the era of endless American apologies has come to an end. 

The reality is that while the regime leaders and the IRGC continue to turn oxygen into carbon dioxide, this conflict will never end.

Michigan Democrat Mallory McMorrow Flees the Red Dawn She Helped Unleash, Leaving Michigan One Step Closer to the People's Republic of the Great Lakes

In a scene straight out of a Bolshevik fever dream, complete with hammer, sickle, and probably a few portraits of Che on the campaign wall, Democrat Michigan state senator Mallory McMorrow has suddenly suspended her campaign for U.S. Senate, just weeks before the August 4th primary. Comrades, the revolution is eating its own again.

This leaves the Democratic primary as a glorious two-way cage match between establishment moderate Rep. Haley Stevens (the Chuck Schumer-approved choice, because nothing says “fighting for the working class” like a career politician backed by super PACs) and the full-throated socialist Abdul El-Sayed, endorsed by the anti-Zionist deadbeat Comrade Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Obviously-Communist, the dynamic duo of “free stuff for everyone except the kulaks.”

McMorrow’s name stays on the ballot because, in true Democrat fashion, the ballots were already printed and mailed out like Soviet ration cards. The eventual winner, whichever flavor of leftism triumphs, will face former Rep. Mike Rogers in November for the seat being vacated by retiring Sen. Gary Peters. 

This is a must-hold for the Democrats if they want to claw back the Senate from the evil, freedom-loving GOP, which currently holds a 53-47 edge. Nonpartisan handicappers call it a toss-up. Let's be serious, America is one bad primary away from the gulag. 

In her weepy little video on X, McMorrow offered no real reason for bailing. She just thanked her staff and supporters for a campaign powered by “small-dollar donations and no corporate PAC money.” Sure, Mallory. You built that plucky little progressive dream right up until the polls showed you getting steamrolled by both the corporate Dems and the actual Reds. Then poof; vanishing act.

But fear not, comrades! She pledged full support to whichever Democrat wins and faces off against Rogers. Quote: “So here's what we do next. Every day through November 3rd. We win this Senate seat and send Mike Rogers back to Florida for good. Whoever wins this primary on August 4th will have my full support.”

How touching. A true display of socialist solidarity, right before the knives come out. 

Stevens, naturally, called McMorrow an “important voice” for Michigan families and positioned herself as the electable one who’ll “lower costs, protect manufacturing jobs, and stand up to Trump’s abuses of power.” Of course, Michigan's manufacturing is 'protected' by the party that plans to regulate, tax, and green-new-deal everything to death.

Meanwhile, El-Sayed, the man who would be America’s first Muslim senator and who looks at Bernie Sanders the way a lovesick teenager stares at a Che Guevara poster, praised McMorrow for challenging the “rigged system.” Quote: “Throughout this campaign, Senator McMorrow showed what it looks like to fight back against politics that rigs the system against too many of us. . . .  The same party insiders she had the courage to challenge have been bullying anyone who opposes their chosen candidate. . . . I welcome her supporters to our movement to stand up against money in politics, to put money back in pockets, and pass Medicare for All. We cannot allow the establishment to decide our nominee for us.”

So come join the glorious people’s struggle! We’ll abolish ICE, call Israel’s fight against Hamas “genocide,” demand single-payer socialism, and make sure the only people with money are the ones running the re-education camps.

This is the choice Michigan Democrats face: Schumer’s corporate shell or Bernie’s full Commie. El-Sayed wants Medicare for All, open borders, and to turn Michigan into a sanctuary state for every radical idea short of immediate collectivization of the auto plants. The establishment is terrified he’ll push the party so far left that even the state Trump carried by a whisker two years ago will finally go full Venezuela.

The NRSC nailed it: “Bernie Sanders’ radical socialist flank is completely taking over the Democrat Party.” Exactly. The mask is off. What used to be hidden behind flowery rhetoric about “progress” and “equity” is now out in the open: government control of health care, demonization of Israel, abolition of borders, and the slow march toward the dictatorship of the proletariat.

Michigan’s Senate primary has gone from clown car to flaming wreck. And the rest of America gets to watch as the Democrats decide exactly how fast they want to drive the country off the Marxist cliff.

God help us all if they win. The red flag is already waving over the primary. Next it’ll be over the Capitol.

California's Political Family Reunion Interrupted After FBI Reveals Someone Actually Wore A Wire: OMG!

There are few things more sacred in California politics than the unshakable belief that everyone in the room is on the same team. Apparently, that confidence took a slight detour when one of the Democrats brought recording equipment instead of campaign talking points.

Attorney McGregor Scott, representing former California chief of staff Dana Williamson, says Democratic political operative Alexis Podesta had been quietly cooperating with federal investigators since at least June 2024. Somewhere in Sacramento, every politician who ever uttered the phrase "this stays between us" is suddenly remembering every lunch meeting they've had for the last two years.

As Scott bluntly put it, “Alexis wore a wire, and Dana did not.”

That single sentence probably produced more panic in California's political class than a surprise audit from the IRS.

Williamson pleaded guilty in May to conspiracy to commit bank and wire fraud, filing a false tax return, and making false statements to the FBI. Prosecutors allege she helped divert roughly $225,000 from a dormant campaign account belonging to former Xavier Becerra. According to prosecutors, the money was disguised as consulting payments while benefiting Becerra's former chief of staff, Sean McCluskie.

The scheme has all the familiar ingredients of modern political consulting. Money leaves one account, appears in another, everyone calls it "consulting," and nobody can quite remember who actually consulted on anything.

The revelation also explains a mystery that had been puzzling Sacramento insiders for months. Last fall, lobbyists and political figures began receiving FBI letters informing them that some of their phone calls had been intercepted.

Republican Assembly member Josh Hoover was among them.

“A lot of people received letters essentially informing us that there were certain periods of time where the FBI was given access to follow phone calls,” Hoover said.

“I don’t know how these investigations work, but it sounds like they cast a pretty broad net across the Capitol community to see what they could find.”

Translation: when Washington says it's only a "limited inquiry," buy extra coffee because everyone is about to have a very stressful week.

Another Sacramento insider reportedly received one of those letters despite never having met Williamson.

“Dude, I got this f—ing letter. I never even met with Dana Williamson!”

“Their curiosity was that they never even met with Dana Williamson, so they were wondering what this is all about,” another source explained. “And now you have the answer.”

Nothing says "healthy political ecosystem" quite like discovering that your innocent phone call about lunch reservations has been preserved forever in an FBI evidence locker.

The investigation has now grown beyond Williamson. Last month, Governor Gavin Newsom announced that he, his wife Jennifer Siebel Newsom, and members of his inner circle were themselves under federal investigation.

Newsom immediately shifted into his favorite role: the misunderstood hero battling the forces of evil.

“Just in the last week, I’ve learned his campaign has reached my own home: to get me, he’s coming after my wife, Jen. A public servant. A woman who has dedicated her life to supporting women and girls. Someone who has done nothing wrong, other than having the temerity to advocate for what she believes in. If they can’t intimidate me, they’ll go after the mother of our children,” Newsom said.

He continued with characteristic theatrical flair.

"Donald Trump picked the wrong target. We have nothing to hide. His political operatives can take every record and read every page. But they’ll be looking in the wrong place. Because if they really want to find corruption, look no further than 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue," he added.

That is one strategy. Another might be waiting to see what investigators actually uncover before delivering the closing argument.

According to a source familiar with the matter who spoke to Semafor's Shelby Talcott, there are "several investigations" involving Newsom. The inquiries reportedly focus on his wife's taxes and his chief of staff. They also reportedly originated out of Sacramento rather than DOJ headquarters and involve whistleblowers.

Newsom, never one to let an investigation interrupt a campaign speech, declared himself part of President Trump's "hit list" while accusing Trump of "selling the presidency" through golf courses, private jets, cryptocurrency, and his sons' overseas business ventures.

“You can subpoena my records. You can investigate me. You can harass me,” Newsom added. “Put my name on every and any enemies list you have, but leave my wife and family out of your personal vendetta.”

It is a familiar script. When questions arise, the story quickly shifts from "What happened?" to "Why are you asking?" It is a bit like being caught with your hand in the cookie jar and insisting the real scandal is the invasion of your privacy.

The irony, of course, is delicious. California's political establishment spent years assuring Americans that only conspiracy theorists imagined corruption lurking behind the polished press conferences and carefully curated Instagram posts. Now it turns out someone actually was wearing a wire.

The Babylon Bee could hardly improve upon the premise: an entire political machine built on carefully managed narratives discovers that the microphone wasn't just for campaign speeches after all. Sometimes reality writes satire all by itself.

House Passes Bipartisan Resolution To Throw Rashida Tlaib's Latest Anti-Israel Tantrum In The Congressional Trash

WASHINGTON—In a development so shocking it briefly caused Capitol Hill to malfunction like a government website on tax day, the House of Representatives actually accomplished something useful Tuesday. Democrats and Republicans united in rare harmony to take the anti-Semitic Rep. Rashida Tlaib's latest anti-Israel performance art piece, escort it gently but firmly to the nearest legislative Port-o-Potty, and set it on fire.

Tlaib's war powers resolution, aimed at handcuffing U.S. military involvement in Lebanon, went down in a solid bipartisan 235-189 vote. Twenty-two Democrats bravely jumped ship from the Michigan congresswoman, joining nearly every Republican in opposition. 

In Washington terms, that's the equivalent of the entire room agreeing the fire alarm isn't just another progressive policy proposal.

The measure would have banned U.S. forces from any "hostilities" in Lebanon, a pressing issue if America were, you know, actually fighting there. But facts remain stubbornly uncooperative with Tlaib's worldview, i.e., that the Jewish state needs to be eliminated.

One lonely Republican dissenter was the execrable Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky, whose foreign policy instincts continue to spin wildly like a compass next to an industrial magnet. Time to vote him out.

Michigan's premier anti-Israel activist cosplaying as a member of Congress tried to limit military authority in a nation where America isn't conducting combat operations. It's roughly as urgent as demanding emergency legislation to stop astronauts from invading Saskatchewan.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and most Democrats voted to tie President Donald Trump's hands on using force in Lebanon without congressional permission. Of course, Jeffries had opposed an earlier version of Tlaib's scheme, proving once again that consistency in the Democratic Party is treated like an optional accessory, right next to "supporting the troops."

The whole thing was a concurrent resolution, carrying all the legal weight of a strongly worded Facebook post. Even if it passed, it would never have reached President Trump's desk for a signature, veto, or well-deserved eye-roll.

Tlaib, Congress's only Palestinian American member and Israel's most dedicated congressional tormentor, has spent years accusing the Jewish state of "ethnic cleansing" in Gaza and Lebanon. Republicans correctly note that her laser focus on condemning Israel while giving Hezbollah a rhetorical free pass amounts to providing comfort to an Iranian-backed terrorist outfit.

Strangely missing from Tlaib's resolution was any condemnation of Hezbollah, the terror group that has spent years rocketing Israeli civilians and turning southern Lebanon into its personal launchpad. Apparently the actual people firing rockets at school buses deserve less congressional attention than the country daring to defend itself.

Earlier this month, Tlaib pushed an even broader version that critics said could have forced U.S. personnel guarding the American Embassy to abandon their posts and crippled aid to the Lebanese Armed Forces fighting actual terrorists. Even by Washington standards, siding against the non-terrorist side is a special kind of genius.

After that flop, she rolled out a revised version with polite exemptions for diplomatic security and training Lebanese troops. Nothing says "principled stand" like frantically editing your legislation after everyone reads the first draft and recoils in horror.

Republicans rightly wondered why Congress was wasting time stopping a war America isn't fighting.

"There are not U.S. combat forces conducting operations or engaged in hostilities in Lebanon," House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Brian Mast, (R-FL), said during debate. "They are training the Lebanese Armed Forces."

"Why are they training?" Mast continued. "Because there's probably at least 40,000, probably more, Hezbollah terrorists spread across the South of Lebanon that are actively engaged in targeting Israel and have been doing so for many years."

Mast went further, correctly labeling supporters of the resolution as "proxies for Hezbollah," a remark unlikely to earn him a Christmas card from the Squad.

Ranking Member Gregory Meeks (D-NY), defended the pointless exercise by claiming it would prevent America from entering "another forever war that is not in our national interest."

A noble thought, if only the United States were actually in a war in Lebanon. Instead, Congress spent the afternoon solemnly debating how to stop a ghost from invading a house it never entered, while Hezbollah kept doing what it does best: trying to annihilate Israel and counting on enough useful idiots in Washington to stay distracted by imaginary American aggression. 

At least this time, sanity prevailed. Barely.

Carville finally decides his Party has become a circus

The Democratic Party has spent years insisting it's a "big tent." Now one of its own elder statesmen has looked around the circus and decided the tent has become a full blown asylum.

Veteran Democratic strategist James Carville has finally reached the point where reality has overpowered partisan loyalty, publicly disowning a candidate backed by New York City Mayor Comrade Zohran Mamdani and calling for nothing less than a formal split in the Democratic Party.

Speaking with co-host Al Hunt on the "Politics War Room" podcast, Carville reacted to the stunning primary victories of three Mamdani-backed candidates in New York, including Democratic socialist Darializa Avila Chevalier. While both men complained that Republicans are exaggerating these candidates' influence, Carville immediately demonstrated why conservatives don't have to exaggerate anything.

"I have the quote right here, I’ll get to it. She has attacked interracial relationships and the American flag. Lady, I ain't in the same party as you. I'm sorry," Carville said. "I’m just not, and I actually do think it's time for Democrats to talk ‘the S-word.’ ‘Schism.’ I really do."

Imagine that. After years of being told conservatives were the ones harboring extremists, one of the Democratic Party's chief strategists is now openly wondering whether his own party needs an exorcism.

"Everybody's always said, 'No, no, we're coalition. We're a big tent,'" Carville continued. "And there's some there's just some s--- that I can't be in the same tent with."

Welcome to the party you helped build.

Carville argued that many of these far left activists don't even believe in the Democratic Party itself but use its ballot line as a convenient vehicle to push radical ideas.

"Let's negotiate a terms of a schism here. Maybe we can part under some kind of advantageous terms for both of us, but I'm done. And I'm not in that f---ing political party."

His breaking point was not merely socialism. It was Israel.

"I am totally comfortable in a political party that spends time questioning the policies of the government of Israel. In fact, I'm enthusiastic about that. I don't want to be in a political party that denies the right of the state of Israel to exist. That's just not I just can't do that. I'm sorry. It's just not doable."

It's remarkable to hear one of the Democratic Party's longest serving strategists say aloud what many moderate Democrats whisper behind closed doors. The anti Israel faction is no longer knocking on the door. It's redecorating the living room.

Hunt didn't disagree.

"They are a great gift to Donald Trump," he replied, urging prominent Democrats including Barack Obama to publicly distance themselves from the movement. "Certainly people like Obama, but also some of the younger Democrats and said, ‘This is not us.’"

He also warned that unless Democrats score a decisive victory in November, "that group of crazies" could spend years undermining House Democratic leadership.

Even Hunt, who credited Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez with eventually becoming a functional member of Congress after her early years, admitted he saw little hope for Mamdani's political allies.

"I don't think this group has that potential."

"I don't either," Carville answered. "And I think AOC is smart. I could be in the same party with her in many ways. I can't be in the same party with Miss Chevalier. Can't do it. Sorry."

It's a remarkable admission. When Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez suddenly qualifies as the reasonable wing of your political party, your ideological Overton window hasn't shifted. It has fallen off a cliff.

Congress Hosts Finger-Wagging Olympics As DHS Chief Reminds Democrats About 450,000 Missing Kids

Washington's latest episode of Political Theater Live featured enough finger pointing to qualify as an OSHA workplace hazard after Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin and Rep. Rosa DeLauro turned a routine budget hearing into an audition for daytime television.

Testifying before the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security, Mullin found himself on the receiving end of another well rehearsed Democratic outrage performance centered on family separation.

"3,900 children were separated from their families," DeLauro declared, delivering the line as though nobody had updated the script since 2019.

Mullin promptly reached into the file Democrats apparently keep locked in a basement.

"450,000 kids were lost during the Biden administration, and you didn’t say a word about it."

That was apparently the signal for the hearing to transition from congressional oversight into interpretive finger wagging.

"Mr. Secretary! Do not interrupt," DeLauro snapped, raising her voice as cameras happily captured every second.

"Don’t you point your finger at me," Mullin answered. "Don’t be a hypocrite."

Not to be outdone, DeLauro doubled down.

"I will point my finger at you," she fired back before asking the committee chairman to put Mullin "in his place."

Mullin wasn't interested in playing along.

"You should be as upset about the 450,000 kids that were lost. You didn’t say a word about it. For four years, you never said a word."

Then he delivered one final jab.

"You should be put in your place."

The Capitol Hill fireworks came just hours after the Supreme Court handed the Trump administration two major immigration victories, triggering what could only be described as a nationwide shortage of coping mechanisms on the Left.

In one 6 to 3 decision, the Court ruled the administration could move forward with ending Temporary Protected Status for roughly 350,000 Haitian migrants and 6,000 Syrians currently living in the United States. In another 6 to 3 ruling, the justices upheld the federal government's authority to limit asylum processing at ports of entry through the "metering" policy, rejecting claims that every migrant who arrives at the border must immediately be processed.

Adding another twist, Florida officials announced that the now famous Everglades detention center nicknamed "Alligator Alcatraz" is closing its gates after helping deport roughly 21,000 illegal immigrants.

Standing beside White House Border Czar Tom Homan, Gov. Ron DeSantis explained that the facility had always been intended as a temporary emergency measure.

"I said from the beginning that this was an emergency solution that would be temporary, that once DHS had the wherewithal to be able to handle these illegal aliens, particularly the criminal illegal aliens, that they would be able to do so, and we would still help," DeSantis said. "In terms of us managing this facility, the minute that’s no longer needed, then we obviously would break down the facility."

In Washington, however, one thing remains permanent. As long as there are cameras rolling, there will always be another finger to point.
