AOC Opposes Abolishing Senate Because She Still Needs Somewhere To Call Everything 'Jim Crow': here's some facts of which she is oblivious

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez clarified Thursday that she does not support her fellow Democratic Socialists' plan to abolish the U.S. Senate, explaining that it would be far too difficult to eliminate an institution before first accusing it of every historical crime ever committed.

Speaking with reporters on Capitol Hill, the New York congresswoman declined to endorse the Democratic Socialists of America's latest wish list, which includes abolishing the Senate, replacing the presidency with a prime minister, restructuring the judiciary, and apparently seeing how many pages of the Constitution can be fed into a paper shredder before lunch.

"That is, of course, a constitutional question," Ms. Ocasio-Cortez told reporters, acknowledging that even revolutionary manifestos occasionally run into inconvenient details like the Constitution.

While stopping short of supporting the Senate's elimination, Ocasio-Cortez made it clear she still considers the chamber historically suspect.

"We've all got our complaints," she said. "I don't support the filibuster. I don't support elements of this institution that we know were founded on Jim Crow."

[The term 'Jim Crow' comes from a 19th century minstrel show character, Thomas Dartmouth "Daddy" Rice. He performed in blackface [see also Jimmy Kimmel, and Justin Trudeau] singing to "Jump Jim Crow," where he portrayed a stereotypical buffoonish Black man. Thus, the name "Jim Crow" became a derogatory slur for Black people, and by the end of the 19th century it was even applied to the segregation laws. 

After the Civil War and the 13th Amendment ended slavery (1865) Democratic Southern states continued to limit the freedoms of Black people by passing Jim Crow laws (1870s - 1960s). 

When federal troops withdrew from the South in 1877 (as part of the Compromise of 1877 that ended Reconstruction), Southern Democrats regained full control and systematically rolled back Black political and civil rights gained during Reconstruction. By the 1880s to the 1890s the South went nuclear with Jim Crow laws. Public transportation, restaurants, schools, parks, hospitals and restrooms, were segregated. Interracial marriages were outlawed and there were poll taxes, literacy tests, grandfather clauses, and additional roadblocks to disenfranchise Black voters [until they started voting for Democrats].

But by the mid-20th  century, Jim Crow laws began crumbling. In 1954 Brown v. Board of Education was the start, followed by the Montgomery Bus Boycott ignited by Rosa Parks, the sit-ins of the 1960s; the 1964 Civil Rights Act, which banned public segregation and employment discrimination; and finally the 1965 Voting Rights Act that outlawed discriminatory voting practices.

During the entire Jim Crow era, (approximately 1877 to the mid-1960s) it was the Democratic Party's Southern wing that was responsible for creating, passing, defending and enforcing Jim Crow laws.

For example, President Wilson, a Democrat, segregated the federal workforce in 1913. And the Southern Democrats dominated Congress for decades and used seniority and the filibuster to block civil rights legislation; not the Republicans who fought against it. By 1948, Southern Democrats broke away from the Dixiecrat party in order to defend segregation. 

Meanwhile, Republicans were generally supportive of civil rights at this period. So Black voters in the South overwhelmingly supported the GOP in the late 19th and early 20th centuries as national Republicans overwhelmingly opposed Jim Crow measures. 

When the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Voting Rights Act of 1965 were signed by Democrat Lyndon B. Johnson, it faced strong opposition from Southern Democrats in Congress and it was the Republicans that provided the crucial votes to overcome filibusters. However, this realigned the two parties as the Democrats took credit for both Acts and Black voters in the South, began voting Democratic. 

Bottom line: Jim Crow was a Southern Democratic project. While not every Democrat supported it (especially many Northern ones later on), the political machinery that built and maintained the system was overwhelmingly in Democratic hands in the South for nearly a century.]

Historians reportedly spent several hours trying to determine exactly how Congress, an institution created in 1789 managed to be "founded on Jim Crow," which emerged nearly a century later, before concluding that modern political rhetoric no longer observes the constraints of linear time.

The Democratic Socialists' platform also calls for replacing the presidency with a parliamentary system, making the judiciary subordinate to Congress, ending American support for Israel, and prosecuting U.S. and Israeli leaders for what it describes as "genocide in Gaza." Political observers noted that the platform appears to have been assembled by asking, "What if Reddit moderated the Federalist Papers?"

Constitutional scholars pointed out that abolishing the Senate would require an amendment approved by two thirds of Congress and ratified by three quarters of the states, making the proposal only slightly more realistic than getting every member of Congress to voluntarily delete their social media accounts.

Although Ocasio-Cortez has been floated as a potential 2028 presidential candidate with support from the DSA, she insisted she is not currently running for another office.

"I could run for dog catcher," she said with a chuckle. "So I think any situation is hypothetical."

Sources confirmed that within minutes, several progressive activists demanded the office of dog catcher also be abolished because golden retrievers have historically benefited from systemic privilege.

Let's remember Biden's heartfelt eulogy to KKK recruiter, Robert Byrd

"Bishop, Reverend Clergy, Mona and Marjorie, the entire Byrd family—if you didn't already know it, it's pretty clear the incredible esteem your father was held in." -- Joe Biden at Robert Byrd's eulogy.

Robert Byrd wrote that he viewed his leadership in the Ku Klux Klan as a helpful platform from which to launch his political career. In the 1940s he recruited 150 of his buddies and associates to form a local chapter of the designated hate group,  The Washington Post reported in 2005.

Later on, the late white supremacist worked hard to keep a low profile saying that the KKK was a youthful indiscretion, and claimed that his KKK chapter was a fraternal group of elites [aka good ole boys] who never called for violence agains Black folks.

Biden and his Democrat white supremacists spoke at Byrd's funeral in the video below. Biden's speech starts at around minute 5:25 but watch the whole thing if you want to understand hypocrisy.

Of course, it was Byrd who filibustered the Civil Rights Act of 1964 then later claimed that it has "emerged throughout my life to haunt and embarrass me and has taught me in a very graphic way what one major mistake can do to one's life, career, and reputation."

In other words, he was outed as a white supremacist and Biden knew this. Still, the then Vice President praised Byrd and basically referred to him as a person fiercely devoted to his principles," a "friend," "mentor" and a "guide." 

Barack Obama, also spoke at Byrd's funeral, and used similar language: "He was a Senate icon. He was a Party leader. He was an elder statesman. And he was my friend. That's how I'll remember him," Obama said.

So while the left calls Donald Trump and all of his supporters white supremacists, ask yourself who are the real white supremacists, even those who aren't white.

Biden says "Democracy is not perfect; it's never been good"

Alleged President Joe Biden is still the gaffing machine he has always been and he made a doozy on Monday. What might be called a slip of the tongue might also be called Joe's truth when he made remarks at Arlington National Cemetery to commemorate Memorial Day.

Biden is an embarrassment to the country and to the office of President.

While he did say some good things about democracy in his speech, both before and after his brain fart, he still revealed himself to be a not very bright politician and a worse American, in my opinion.

Biden mumble-argued that there is a “perennial struggle for democracy and freedom.”

“Ladies and gentlemen, today we remember and we reaffirm: Freedom is worth the sacrifice. Democracy is not perfect; it’s never been good — perfect. But it’s worth fighting for; if necessary, worth dying for,” the Big Guy said.

“It’s more than just our form of government, it is part of the very soul of America. The soul of America,” he mush-mouthed, apparently having forgot that last year he insisted the soul of America is racist.

In his inaugural address Biden said that the government and society as a whole is systemically racist. If you believe that nonsense, you would naturally have concerns about democracy. 

But it's a lie. We fought a Civil War to end slavery in America, and the same leftists who call us racist refuse to call out the current day slavery that continues in the Middle East, China, and the African continent.

We are living in a time where white people are pathologized "and a new mania is invented every month," as Douglas Murray points out in his latest book, "The War on the West."

The United States is not a racist country, although racists exist everywhere in the world and melanin levels do not predict its existence. We passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 treating all races equally under the law, but still the haters point the blame on white people--which in itself, is a racist claim.

Biden's words past and present are often contradictory and generally bumper sticker rhetoric. Nobody with full cognitive capacity takes him serious but they have to pretend they do.

For Biden, democracy is a necessary evil but he would like to see that as a temporary evil as would the entire far left.

'Miss American Conservative' beauty contestants asked tough questions

From Obama to the Clintons, Joe Biden to Maxine Waters and more, the 'Miss American Conservative' contestants were grilled to see who would be crowned as this year's winner.

Miss Mississippi, Charlene Fingascrost, was crowned Miss Conservative American 2018 Sunday night in Atlantic City's Trump Casino, in New Jersey following an evening of tough political questions during the "Question-Answer" session. 

The first question Fingascrost was asked was whether she believed former president Barack Obama should stay out of current political discussions and quit attacking the Trump administration. 

Her answer surprised no one: "I believe Mr. Obama lacks the ability to remain neutral on issues he cares deeply about, such as socialism and partnering with Islamic countries in the fight against Israel. And yes, I believe he should stay out of politics, take up gardening and grow some class."

In another onstage interview, Miss Wyoming, Debbie Waitless, was asked if Trump was wrong to pull the U.S. out of the Paris Climate Accord.

"The Paris Climate Accord was nothing more than a 'handshake' between nations promising to fight manmade climate change. While it's plausible that mankind has some influence on the climate, scientists still have no idea how much influence nor what can actually be done about change. The accord said that richer countries would pay poorer countries money to deal with climate change, but that they had 30 years in which to get off their butts and do something. It was a bad deal to begin with, and the United States is already limiting carbon emissions while the other big polluters, Russia, China and India, are doing squat."

The audience went wild.

Miss Montana, Jennifer Lustwagon, was asked to be "the jury" on whether President Trump or Hillary Clinton colluded with the Russian government in order to win the 2016 presidential election.

"In the United States, a person is said to be innocent until proven guilty. While there is no evidence that Trump colluded with the Russians, there is a greater possibility that Hillary Clinton had more to do with the Russians. For example, her husband was paid half a million dollars to speak at a sanctioned Russian bank known as Renaissance Capital. It was sanctioned under the Magnitsky Act and the speech was made while Mrs. Clinton was secretary of state.

"The sanction was named after Sergei Magnitsky, a whistle blower attorney who was put in a Russian prison in 2009 and later died there under suspicious circumstances. Magnitsky represented a U.S. investor, Bill Browder, the largest foreign investor at that time, and he claimed Russian organized criminals colluded with the Russian government officials to collect over two hundred million dollars on a tax rebate on Browder's companies.

"In 2015, Hillary opposed the Magnitsky Act while serving as secretary of state and this coincided with the time Bill gave his speech for Renaissance Capital, whose executives were at risk for being hurt by the sanctions.

"Hillary had also received a huge payout by Renaissance Capital in 2010, so if either Hillary or Trump were involved with Russian collusion in the election, I would imagine Hillary Clinton would be my first choice. But as a conservative, I still believe a person must be proven guilty, which is why I believe she needs to be fully investigated for this and other dealings."

Again, the crowd cheered wildly for Ms. Lustwagon.

Miss Nevada, Amanda Fanbubble, was asked to give her opinion on Confederate statues and whether they should be removed from public display.

"The entire statue issue is silly," she began. "The statues have been standing for years and suddenly they've become offensive to the leftists who claim moral superiority over all things dealing with race. Rather than actually fighting real racism, they object to inanimate objects and illegally knock them down as if they're actually fighting a Confederate soldier.

"The Civil War was about slavery, but it was also about state's rights, which was the issue many in the south were fighting for--in fact, most confederate soldiers didn't even own slaves.

"But yes, the idea of slavery is repugnant, except to Democrats in the KKK and other Democrats like Robert Byrd, George Wallace and Bull Connor," Fanbubble said. "And it was the Democratic Party that mostly voted against the 1964 Civil Rights Act, while the Republicans overwhelmingly  voted for its passing."

The casino crowd began to applaud loudly.

"So removing statues of Confederate generals and soldiers is a joke and a distraction from real issues such as tax reform, health care and the spread of terrorism in the West."

Miss Alabama, Hortense Flaturlance, was asked about her thoughts regarding Trump's comments after the deadly white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, where he blamed "both sides." A counter-protester, Heather Heyer, died there when a white supremacist mowed his car into the crowd of counter-protesters.

"It was absolutely horrible that Ms. Heyer was killed. The individual who killed her must be brought to justice along with anyone at the rally who initiated violence.

"The terrorist group known as Antifa was at the rally. They came with makeshift shields and weapons. They came to start trouble. 

"The white supremacists disgust me and should disgust every decent human being who believes in human dignity. But denying anyone their right to free speech disgusts me just as much. This was the purpose of Antifa, so yes, President Trump was right to blame "both sides," but I also think he should have specified exactly what he meant by it. Also, I believe he should have immediately admonished the KKK and the neo-nazis for their beliefs instead of waiting two days before he did.

"Finally, it should be obvious that when Antifa initiates violence against the neo-nazis and KKK, it serves the purposes of the white supremacists."

Miss Missouri, Hope Springs, was asked if she thought Maxine Waters is "over the top" in her call for President Trump's impeachment.

"I think 'Aunty Maxine' should be evaluated for either a nursing home or a mental institution and Joe Biden should get a room next to hers."

Lustwagon and Fanbubble were First and Second Runners-Up, respectively.

Obama: "I have spoken!"

Our Supreme Exulted Monarch has decreed Wednesday that all "57 states" do not have the right to refuse potential Islamic terrorists (aka refugees) and if they go against his orders, the leaders of his caliphate will suffer the consequences.

The decree letter from the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) tells American governors that they are not permitted to deny taxpayer money to provide services and benefits to refugees based on their country of origin or so-called religion of peace and otherwise. In other words, it used to be your money and your rights but now it belongs to Big Brother.

"Accordingly, states may not categorically deny ORR-funded benefits and services to Syrian refugees. Any state with such a policy would not be in compliance with the State Plan requirements, applicable statutes, and their own assurances, and could be subject to enforcement action, including suspension and termination."

Even Canada is smart enough to realize how most of these so-called "refugees" are men of military age, as well as the age that fits terrorist profiles. So Canada is only admitting families and women with children. 

But we don't profile in the USA because that would be politically incorrect. Instead, we have a president who is going against a significantly large majority of Americans who believe that the nation's security trumps political charity. 

Even many Democrats agree, except for the hard-line robots like Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi.

The ORR letter discussed the 1964 Civil Rights Act which prohibits discrimination based on race and national origin in all programs that receive federal funding. The Democrats like to take credit for the Act but while 6 Republicans opposed it, 21 Democrats also opposed it.

And speaking of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, you may recall a Democratic president, Lyndon Baines Johnson who discussed the '64 act with several southern governors. (WARNING: STRONG LANGUAGE.) 

Johnson is alleged to have said: 

"These Negroes, they're getting pretty uppity these days and that's a problem for us since they've got something now they never had before, the political pull to back up their uppityness. Now we've got to do something about this, we've got to give them a little something, just enough to quiet them down, not enough to make a difference . . . I'll have them niggers voting Democratic for the next two hundred years."

Furthermore, Democrats like to say the 1964 Civil Rights Act was the brainchild of the Kennedy or Johnson administrations, but actually, it was an extension of the 1957 and 1960 Civil Rights Acts created by the Republican Party. Barry Goldwater, one of the six Republicans who voted against the 1964 version didn't like the idea that the 1964 version was totally Republican policy with Democrats taking the credit.

Back to the Syrian "refugees." Last week the House overwhelmingly approved a bill that would improve the screening for Syrian (and Iraqi) refugees. It would require a more comprehensive background check on every one of them before they can be admitted to the US and a certification that they do not individually pose a threat.

The ORR followed the administration's line saying Syrian refugees are subject to even more precautionary measures than other refugees, referring to the measures as "a multi-layered and intensive screening and vetting process involving multiple law enforcement, national security, and intelligence agencies across the Federal Government."

When Democrats have these "refugees" living in their neighborhoods, only then will I have a modicum of trust for their claims that they pose no danger to our citizens. But I will still wait eagerly for any possible repercussions that may occur based upon their poor judgment, as the results of those repercussions will impact directly upon them.
