New York's East Village voted for Comrade Mamdani by 70%, now suing him

Comrade Mamdani

Leftists sometimes [however rarely] experience the misery that their cherished policies inflict on the rest of us in a direct manner. That's happening right now in the East Village, where they voted in massive numbers for the Marxist Mayor Zohran Mamdani, only to have him decide that they would be among the first to be punished.

Mamdani’s fellow Twelver Shi’ite, the Ayatollah Khomeini, also allied with the Communists, only to imprison and kill them after he took power. Now Mamdani wants to inflict violent and criminal homeless people on the affluent leftists of the East Village.

The idea is to demoralize and threaten them until they will support the authoritarian policies that are the heart and center of leftism. Well, it could not happen to a nicer bunch, but they are just toward the beginning of the line. There will be many more victims to come. As H.L. Mencken said in "A Little Book in C Major (1916): "Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard."

East Village residents who voted for New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani by a 40-point margin are now suing to stop a building in their neighborhood from becoming a temporary homeless shelter.

The lawsuit, filed with the New York City Supreme Court on Monday, shows hesitation even among Mamdani supporters about the cost of implementing some of his plans.

News of the lawsuit has prompted conservative mockery online, with figures like Sen. Ted Cruz, (R-TX) noting the irony of Mamdani’s supporters turning on the fruits of his administration.

“Oops,” Sen. Ted Cruz said in a post to X.

“No one is more ‘not in my backyard’ than white progressives. This community voted for Mamdani in a landslide but don’t want to live with the consequences,” Michael Henry, a former New York attorney general candidate, wrote on social media.“Not shocked,” Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) said in a post.

Election District 45, the area that includes East Village, voted for Mamdani in a 70.1% victory over independent candidate Andrew Cuomo, who garnered just 26.0% of the vote. It was one of those "hold your nose and vote" situations with these choices.

Even so, 10 residents joined the Village Organization for the Integrity of Community Engagement (VOICE) in their suit against the city after Mamdani announced plans earlier this year to turn a building at 8 East 3rd Street into a citywide intake shelter to house homeless adult men.

The filing argues the city fast-tracked the process without proper environmental and legal safeguards.

Republicans warn ICC prosecutor: If you target Israel, we'll target you

It's too bad they didn't do it for former President Donald Trump in his current case, but a dozen Republican senators on Monday warned the International Criminal Court chief prosecutor Karim Khan not to issue arrest warrants for senior Israeli officials, just a few days after Khan cautioned against attempting to sway the court.

That was red meat for the senators led by Tom Cotton (R-AR) who said in a letter, "Target Israel, and we will target you. Such actions are illegitimate and lack legal basis, and, if carried out, will result in severe sanctions against you and your institution.”

Sens. Mitch McConnell (minority leader), Rick Scott, Tim Scott, Ted Cruz, and Marco Rubio also signed the letter, amid increasing concern in Israel that the Muslim-dominated UN court could issue arrest warrants for senior political and military officials over their defense of Hamas in Gaza after they invaded Israel. Rather than allowing Hamas to continue killing Israelis, Israel fought back and killed Hamas terrorists, and did so with aplomb.

But as the war approaches seven months, the ICC is looking to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi.

While the US and Israel officials tried to dissuade the ICC from issuing arrest orders, Khan said the ICC "welcomes open communication" with government officials and non-government bodies, but they will only engage with them if they stick to the script, that is, as long as it's “consistent with its mandate under the Rome Statute to act independently and impartially.”

“That independence and impartiality are undermined, however, when individuals threaten to retaliate… should the office, in fulfillment of its mandate, make decisions about investigations or cases falling within its jurisdiction,” he added, demanding that “all attempts to impede, intimidate or improperly influence its officials cease immediately.”

In spite of the symbolic crotch-protecting and shoulder rolling by the ICC, the senators wrote that the ICC “is attempting to punish Israel for taking legitimate actions of self-defense against their Iranian-backed aggressors. In fact, in your own words, you witnessed ‘scenes of calculated cruelty’ conducted by Hamas in Israel following the October 7 attacks.”

Khan, who is no fan of the, you know, Jews, visited the Jewish State last December at the request of the families of the hostages Hamas kidnapped on October 7. During his visit, he toured some of the communities  the terrorist scumbags attacked during the October 7 massacre of the innocent. He saw Kibbutz Be'eri and Kibbutz Kfar Aza, among others, and heard testimonies from survivors of the Hamas slaughter of men, women, children and babies.

“These arrest warrants would align the ICC with the largest state sponsor of terrorism and its proxy. To be clear, there is no moral equivalence between Hamas’s terrorism and Israel’s justified response,” the senators wrote.

The mere fact that Khan and the ICC is even considering to arrest these Israeli leaders, is without doubt of their alignment and anti-Semitism.

It's only the Jews that are judged by a different standard.

We watched the House while McConnell makes quiet move against 2 GOP Senators

All eyes were on House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) as he was kicking Ilhan Omar (D-MN) off the House Foreign Affairs Committee along with Adam Schiff (D-CA) and Eric Swalwell (D-CA) off the House Intelligence Committee.

But while this was taking place, two prominent Republicans with excellent conservative credentials were losing their committee seats in the senate on orders from Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY)! [Yes, an exclamation point is proper in these circumstances.]

McConnell removed Sens. Rick Scott (FL) and Mike Lee (UT) both on the Senate Commerce Committee on Wednesday, as reported by Fox News. They are among some of McConnell's most vocal critics in the senate Republican caucus.

Scott spoke to CNN and gave his view as to why McConnell booted him off the committee.

“He didn’t like that I opposed him because I believe we have to have ideas — fight over ideas. And so, he took Mike Lee and I off the committee.”

Scott — who reportedly learned that he’d been removed from the powerful senate committee via text message — was apparently “furious” over McConnell’s act to remove him, according to the Hill.

Scott challenged McConnell for the minority leader position after the GOP failed to have a "red wave" victory in the 2022 midterms. This may have been the reason the old turtle used the committee as payback to Scott.

Meanwhile, Mike Lee also issued a tweet throwing shade at McConnell after his committee removal:
Mitch happens. πŸ’… https://t.co/fs3CVVgUmS

— Mike Lee (@BasedMikeLee) February 2, 2023
Charlie Kirk showed his support for Lee and Scott posting:
Mitch McConnell just booted Senators Mike Lee and Rick Scott from the Senate Commerce Committee. These are two of the best senators in the country.

Their crime? Challenging Mitch McConnell.

The DC swamp strikes again.

— Charlie Kirk (@charliekirk11) February 1, 2023
The Republican Party is failing their voters. The leadership is obviously more interested in their self-preservation and power than what's good for their constituents. This explains why there was no "red wave" and why the Democrats were able to increase their majority in the Senate in the midterm elections last year.

It's time to get rid of the dead wood and make some serious changes.

Do you agree?

Sen. Scott says Biden is unfit for office and Biden proves him correct

Florida Senator Rick Scott (R) sharply criticized alleged President Joe Biden on Tuesday regarding his lack of mental fitness for office. Unfortunately, Biden proved Scott's concerns were legitimate, as anyone who's paying attention knows.

Last week, the so-called President went after Scott for criticizing his administration's economic plans and Biden said that supporters of former President Donald Trump's policies were  “the most extreme political organization that’s existed” in recent American history, which is just another Biden lie.

“Senator Rick Scott of Florida … released what he calls the ultra-MAGA agenda. It’s a MAGA agenda all right,” Biden claimed. “Let me tell you about this ultra-MAGA agenda. It’s extreme, as most MAGA things are.”

Yes, it's definitely crazy extreme: an increase in military spending, lower taxes, ending the Iran nuclear deal, and having NATO member nations pay their fair share, as progressives love to say.

Prior to Biden’s remarks on Tuesday, Scott released the statement slamming Biden’s mental fitness for office.

“Let’s be honest here. Joe Biden is unwell. He’s unfit for office. He’s incoherent, incapacitated and confused. He doesn’t know where he is half the time. He’s incapable of leading and he’s incapable of carrying out his duties. Period,” Scott said. “Everyone knows it. No one is willing to say it. But we have to, for the sake of the country. Joe Biden can’t do the job.”

Scott said that if Biden wanted to solve the inflation crisis that has unfolded during his administration, the “quick and easy solution” is to have Biden resign.

Scott also included a tweet from Washington Post fact-checker Glenn Kessler that pointed out that Biden’s speech was centered around blatant false claims attacking Republicans.

— Glenn Kessler (@GlennKesslerWP)
Soon after Scott's statement was released, Biden attacked him but had no idea which state Scott represents in the Senate.

“Senator Rick Scott of Wisconsin, a member of the Senate Republican leadership, laid it all out in a plan,” Biden said. “It’s the Ultra-MAGA agenda.”

Remember, Senator Scott is not from Wisconsin, he's from Florida.

A reporter at the press conference asked Biden about Scott's comments.

“You called out Rick Scott a little while ago in your remarks,” the reporter said. “Earlier today, anticipating your remarks, he said — and I’m just quoting here — that the best thing — ‘the most effective thing Joe Biden can do to solve the inflation crisis he created is resign. He’s the problem.’”

“Resign?” Biden responded in his confused, mumbling tone. “That’s a good idea.”

“The senator added later, ‘Joe Biden is unwell. He’s unfit for office. He’s incoherent, incapacitated, and confused,’” the reporter continued. “These are his words. I’m offering you a chance to respond to that.”

“I think the man has a problem,” the PINO replied.

Scott addressed Biden’s remarks on Twitter, saying that Biden was “right” that he has “a problem.”

“@JoeBiden is right. I do have a problem,” Scott said. “I have a problem with a weak, incoherent & confused president crushing the dreams of American families with raging inflation & doing NOTHING to fix it. Biden is a failed president & it’s time for him to resign.”

AOC attacks Rick Scott and looks like a fool again

AOC's happy face
Rep. Alexandria Obviously-Comatose (Socialist-NY) once again came across as not the sharpest knife in the forest. She went after Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) attacking him on "critical thinking," a term she would do well to apply to herself. She was clueless to the fact that Scott was being sarcastic and her critical thinking was out to lunch.

Scott tweeted about 2020 presidential candidate Cory "Spartacus" Booker about his plan for a federal gun licensing system.

Scott tweeted:
"BREAKING: the latest terrible idea to come out of the Democrats' 2020 primary is a federal gun registry. If you want to buy a gun, @CoryBooker wants you to register with the federal government. This would be scary if Booker had any chance of becoming President."
Then he continued:
"What's next? Will we have to register sharp knives? Maybe @AOC will make us register every time we buy meat as part of her #GreenNewDeal. The Democrats are officially the @BernieSanders Party. They want America to be less prosperous and less free."
Obviously-Comatose responded by tweeting:
"That a sitting US Senator can say something lacking so much critical thinking + honesty is embarrassing to the institution. If you were a female candidate, maybe you’d be called 'unlikeable,' 'crazy,' or 'uninformed.' But since you’re not, this inadequacy is accepted as normal."
Scott responded to the freshman socialist:
"That a sitting Congresswoman doesn’t understand sarcasm would be embarrassing to the institution if you hadn’t embarrassed yours to the point of irrelevance already. America rejects socialism and will continue to."
Scott's statement that America rejects socialism is accurate according to a new Monmouth University Poll poll released Monday. It's quite possible, based on AOC's basic understanding of "stuff" that she doesn't understand socialism. Kind of like Bernie Sanders, who admitted that he cannot actually explain it in simple terms. Einstein said, [and I paraphrase] that if you cannot explain something that a child could understand, then you don't understand it yourself.

"A majority of Americans say socialism is incompatible with American values, and only 10% of voters in a new poll have a positive view of socialism," The Hill reported, adding that the poll found that "57% of voters believe that socialism is incompatible with American values.

It's also immoral.

Stoneman Douglas commission: arm teachers, increase security spending

The state commission investigating the Parkland school shooting unanimously approved a final report on Wednesday that places the responsibility for reform on school districts, law enforcement agencies, state legislative leaders and Gov.-elect Ron DeSantis.

The comprehensive report, which is 458 pages long, by the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Commission addresses the connections of screwups revealed in the wake of the shooting.

For example, the report includes fumbled tips, lax school security policies and the cowardly and unaggressive Broward sheriff's deputies who hung back in fear as shots were fired.

The report will now go to Gov. Rick Scott, Ron DeSantis, Senate President Bill Galvano and House Speaker JosΓ© Oliva.

There are dozens of recommendations in the report. Some would require action by the governor and Legislature, such as the proposals to allow some teachers to carry guns and increase spending on school security. It also calls for laws to be changed to allow school districts to raise taxes for security improvements and to require rather than simply permit mental health providers to notify law enforcement if a patient threatens anyone with harm.

Many of the proposals were inspired by errors and weak spots that came to light after the Feb. 14 massacre of 17 people.

Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri, chairman of the commission, said many recommendations could have been implemented a long time ago had school safety been treated with the importance it deserved, especially by school districts.

“There needs to be a sense of urgency,” he said. “And people need to understand that there’s an expectation and a rightful expectation on the part of parents: When you send your kids to school in the morning, there’s an expectation they’re going to come home alive in the afternoon and there are very basic things.

“There’s a money issue, I grant you that. And there’s challenges with money, but there’s a whole bunch of things that don’t cost anything and the Legislature, if these districts won’t do it, should mandate that they implement these things and that they implement them immediately.”

Galvano said the recommendations will be taken up Tuesday at a meeting of the Senate Education Committee. He said he would consider supporting many of the proposals, including the one to allow teachers to carry guns, which would be accomplished through expanding the school Guardian program.

Gualtieri spoke forcefully in favor of the commission’s proposal to arm teachers, noting that the shooter had paused five times to reload — providing opportunities to stop him.

“So what are we saying to people — we’re not going to allow you to defend yourself, we’re not going to allow you to defend the kids — why? Because of some ideology that we don’t like guns? Anyone who thinks they’re going to get rid of guns is crazy,” he said. “It isn’t going to happen. We’ve got to do something differently and people should be able to protect themselves.”

Broward School Board member Robin Bartleman said she doubts the board will support allowing teachers to carry guns but thought the board should revisit the issue.

“I am very concerned about arming teachers,” Bartleman said. “I think it’s a discussion we need to have with the community. I have not found many people in favor of this. The overwhelming response I get is people don’t want teachers with guns.” Fortunately for Bartleman, she didn't lose a child in the shooting. Had she lost a loved one, her opinion may have been different. The same holds true for all anti-gun advocates.

“Teachers went to school to teach,” Bartleman said. “That is their expertise. Law enforcement, their expertise is supposed to be to engage a threat. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen on 2/14, but I still think we should leave it in the hands of law enforcement.”

Yeah, how did that work out for you at the school?

Some teachers can walk and shoot at the same time. It is self-defense and the defense of the kids in the school that is the issue. There is something called "teaching" which can be done with guns and teachers. You can teach gun safety to them, and how to fire a handgun in an emergency.

It can save lives.

Broward County election official Snipes screws up her resignation

FLORIDA -- Broward County's supervisor of elections, Brenda Snipes, has"withdrawn her resignation" after Florida Gov. Rick Scott threatened to cut off her huge pension,  the Hill reports.

Snipes, one of the most incompetent election officials ever to receive a paycheck, and who presided over a totally embarrassing vote recount effort in Broward County following the 2018 midterm elections, told reporters on Saturday, through her attorney, that she refuses to be shamed by Scott and would not simply leave office quietly.

She definitely should not be shamed by Scott. She should be ashamed of her inability to do a job she was handsomely paid to do, and failed miserably.

"Dr. Snipes hereby rescinds her resignation,” attorney Burnadette Norris-Weeks told media. She added that the governor's efforts to remove the useless Snipes from office before January were nothing more than an attempt to "tarnish [Snipes’s] record.”

Snipes' record is tarnished every day she gets out of bed.

Snipes will be “fighting this to the very end,” Norris-Weeks warned.

And if she fights this as well as she supervises elections procedures, she's in deep trouble.

Snipes officially resigned her position after the Broward Country vote recount was completed, and after days of screwups and missteps whereby Broward lagged far behind neighboring counties in handling ballot issues.

Her team, at one point, lost more than 2,000 ballots, with just hours remaining until the election results had to be certified.

She would have remained in office until January, and would have been eligible for a $170,000 state pension, but elections got in her way.

Late last week Governor Rick Scott announced that Snipes needed to go, and he officially removed her from office, appointing a Republican supervisor of elections to take over immediately.

"Every eligible voter in Florida deserves their vote to be counted and should have confidence in Florida’s elections process," Scott said in a statement about his actions last week.

"After a series of inexcusable actions, it’s clear that there needs to be an immediate change in Broward County and taxpayers should no longer be burdened by paying a salary for a Supervisor of Elections who has already announced resignation,” the Governor added.

That turned out to be a bad deal for Snipes and she is refusing to leave office unless she is removed by the state of Florida. Her current term isn't scheduled to end until the 2020 election year.

In a separate statement at a press conference held Saturday, Snipes accused Scott of being "vindictive" -- in spite of the fact that Scott ultimately won the recount in Broward county and has nothing for which to be "vindictive." He will serve as Florida's junior Senator and has pledged to seek out transparency.

Snipes needs to go but I doubt she can even find the correct exit.

BREAKING: Scott beats Nelson after bitter recount war

Florida -- Governor Rick Scott (R) has finally defeated Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL) in a Senate race that had the whole country back to watching the NFL. This race actually triggered two recounts and a slew of battles both legal and with public opinion.

The contest came to its final conclusion today, Sunday, about 90 minutes ago as the noon deadline passed for county election incompetents [in this case] to submit the results of a hand recount showing Scott ahead of "Dead Face" Nelson by about 10,000 votes, roughly 0.12 percent, or about as many people as can fit on the roof of a bus in New Delhi.

The hand recount was ordered when a machine recount showed the pair separated by only about 12,600 votes, or 0.15 points, or about as many liberals as can fit in a small town Zumba class.

These results assured Scott's victory in a hard-fought down and dirty race that lasted almost up to the 2020 elections, or nearly two weeks beyond Election Day 2018, when he was ahead of Nelson by less than one point, or about as many Democrats who plan to run against Trump in 2020.

As vote tallies continued to leak down from Democratic Broward and Palm Beach counties, like a broken catheter, Scott's lead narrowed and put the race within the 0.5 point threshold needed to trigger a recount.

Nelson, forgetting he is white, yelled "racism," but that didn't stop others on the left from following suit. The recount touched off a round of litigation from both sides and sparked a bitter fight in public opinion. Republicans screamed voter fraud as Broward County Election Supervisor, the execrable Brenda Snipes yelled "racism," and pulled a pen from her hair. Democrats screamed, "voter suppression," while offering no proof other than their feelings, which was good enough for them.

Anyway, it's over. Nelson has been retired and his legacy was never in existence anyway. His final words before leaving: "I cannot feel my face."

Broward counts wrong ballots as cluster-funk continues

Fort Lauderdale, FL -- First they bungled the machine recount, now in Broward County's second day of manual recounting they vote counters had to stop about an hour into the start on Saturday when lawyers from both parties pointed out that volunteers had been counting the wrong ballots.

You simply cannot make this stuff up.

Hundreds of unpaid, unskilled, volunteers spent Friday going through 32,000 over-votes and undervotes in the Senate race between incumbent Sen. Bill "My- Face-Died-Last-Year" Nelson, and Republican Gov. Rick Scott.

On Friday night, Broward officials announced they had completed their manual recount.

Then on Saturday, volunteers began sorting about 22,000 undervotes and over-votes in the hotly run contest for Florida Commissioner of Agriculture.

But that came to a screeching halt when lawyers discovered thousands of overlapping ballots which clearly showed a vote in the agricultural race but were unclear in the Senate race. [Unclear, fuzzy ballots, are generally considered to be votes for Democrats, according to Democrats.]

"It appears there may have been some ballots from yesterday mixed in with the ones for today," Broward Canvassing Board Judge Deborah Carpenter-Toye told the media.

Mixed in from the Senate recount were forty-seven manila envelopes with envelopes distributed for the commissioner election.

According to Broward County Canvassing Board Attorney Rene Harrod, the mistake was caught in time and none of the 47 ballots made it to the canvassing board. Had this not been caught, it would be very possible that some votes would be counted twice.

Republican attorney Joseph Goldstein said the recount must be stopped but the canvassing board decided to continue the count and instructed the unskilled, unpaid, and poorly motivated volunteers to flag any incorrect ballots from Saturday's count.

This all comes as the state flounders around trying to complete its mandatory manual recount in the U.S. Senate race by noon Sunday. Florida, particularly Broward County, has been under heavy scrutiny since the recounts were ordered last Saturday. But this is what you get when you have an idiot in the position of Election Supervisor for Broward County.

Speaking of the Election Supervisor, Brenda Snipes, she bragged about making the state's deadline for machine results, something that's actually part of her job and nothing to brag about. It's like a Parking Meter Enforcement Agent bragging about ticketing a car for an expired meter.

"We are excited to be at this point," Snipes said Thursday.
The election brain trust
Then a mere few hours later, election officials had to admit the county had uploaded the results past the deadline by two minutes [after the 3 p.m. cutoff]. So the machine recount tally was void. It's possible this was done intentionally by Snipes since it was clear that Scott was kicking butt in the results.

So Broward's results from Election Night stands until manual recount totals come in by Sunday at noon.

Hillsborough County intentionally refused to report its tally, which would have awarded Scott about 150 votes, because the recount turned up 846 fewer votes than the county's initial tally, proving once again, that elections in Florida are about as accurate as Stevie Wonder's skeet shooting.

Palm Beach election supervisor Susan Bucher said the county found "dozens of precincts missing a significant number" of votes during the machine recount and said there were entire boxes of ballots that weren't counted.
Bill Nelson
Bucher also blamed the problems on mechanical errors and said the scanning machines overheated. She flew in two technicians to fix the problem but they witnessed Palm Beach County workers jam a paper clip into the scanner's "enter" button to slow the high-speed scanner down. This caused a short-circuit that cut off the power, according to The New York Times.

And you wonder why we don't trust Democrats?

As it stands, Bill Nelson is finished as a mediocre senator and Rick Scott will now take his seat. Ron DeSantis will be governor and Andrew Gillum will remain a leftist sore loser.

Broward County, close, no cigar: misses deadline by 2 minutes

Brenda Snipes is clearly incompetent, but she may also be fraudulent. The deadline to get all the late votes in for last Tuesday's election was at 3 p.m.

GOP candidate Rick Scott, running for a U.S. Senate seat against incumbent Bill "Cryin' Face" Nelson believes that Snipes intentionally missed the deadline in order to invalidate the votes that should have been counted by the end of Election Day.

Snipes missed the deadline by two minutes, making the machine recount void. She is not even capable of cheating competently for the Democratic Party--in spite of CNN's fake report that claimed she is a Republican.

So the results from the election will stand.

Snipes, who claimed with a straight face that she never missed a deadline, to CNN's Chris Cuomo, also with a straight face that he was able to hold as he was biting the inside of his mouth to keep from laughing, missed the deadline and has a history of screwups.

On Thursday afternoon Snipes actually said, "We are excited to be at this point."

As it stands now, Ron DeSantis has officially beat Andrew Gillum in the Florida gubernatorial race and it looks as if Rick Scott has also won.

Potty-mouth ageist with no insight into gun violence

David Hogg has a potty mouth and very little else. Hogg is a 17-year-old survivor of the high school shooting in Parkland, Florida. He claims that he's the NRA's "worst nightmare" and Mary Lou Clemmons' "best dream" if she is willing to go with him to the prom.

When speaking about gun control issues, the teenager said, "Our parents don't know how to use a f**king democracy, so we have to." But only those people who agree with him can use a democracy--Democrats, for example.

His brilliant words:
"When your old-ass parent is like, 'I don't know how to send an iMessage,' and you're just like, 'Give me the f**king phone and let me handle it.' Sadly, that's what we have to do with our government; our parents don't know how to use a f**king democracy, so we have to."
Use a democracy? I wonder what Hogg's grades were for English grammar. The word 'democracy' is not a noun, idiot. Yes, idiot is a noun.

I also wonder what Hogg thinks about his own "old ass" parents.

Hogg, who obviously sees himself as some sort of youthful folk hero blathered on with his pedantic garbage as he continues to save the world from evil guns:
"I'm beyond exhausted. I get to a certain point where I just get so tired that I keep going. It creates a positive feedback loop in some ways [because he sees himself as a machine]--the more stress and work I put on me, the more stress and work I can deal with."
Hooray for a Hogg! He is so brave and strong to push on. And he had more to say:
"It just makes me think what sick f**kers out there want to continue to sell more guns, murder more children, and honestly just get reelected. What type of shi**y person does that? That could have blood from children splattered all over their faces and they wouldn't take action, because they all still see these dollar signs."
The 'Hoggster' was not referring to monetary assistance he is likely receiving 'under the table' to send his vulgar message out to us old-ass people, but to the billions of dollars the NRA gives to politicians in constituencies that support the Second Amendment.

Hogg had this to say to Florida Gov. Rick Scott:
"You're kind of like Voldemort at this point. You should just retire, because you aren't going to get elected to Senate."
And to Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL):
"What about the $176,000 you took for those 17 people's blood?"
Yeah, Marco, why do you accept money for something that you believe in? Why do you have an A+ rating with the NRA?

Rubio said that he would back four gun control measures since the Parkland shooting:
Strengthen background checks. "I will support changing our background system so that it includes more information than it includes now and that all states across the country are required or incentivized to report all the information into it."
That isn't a bad idea at all, but in terms of this recent shooting and in some of the others, law enforcement was aware of the danger the shooter posed before he went to slaughter. But if a more intensive background check could help, why not?
Ban bump stocks.
Sure. It really has no useful purpose other than converting the rifle into an almost automatic weapon. I don't see a problem with a ban on that.
Increase the 18-year-old age limit for rifles. "I absolutely believe that in this country if you are 18 years of age, you should not be able to buy a rifle, and I will support a law that takes that right away," Rubio said.
Most mass shootings are carried out by people over the age of 21. If, as Rubio suggests, we increase the depth of background checks, there should be no reason to take away the rights of those old enough to go to war and carry an automatic rifle, from buying a semi-automatic rifle.
Limit magazine clip sizes [perhaps]. "I traditionally have not supported looking at magazine clip size, and after this and some of the details I learned about it, I'm reconsidering that position [because] it may save lives in an attack."
A bit of a squishy detail. Perhaps he's right, but let's not forget that an experienced shooter with multiple clips can change a clip in just a few seconds.

If we could just stop all non NRA members from committing mass shootings, the mass shooting rate would drop 100 percent!

If we could have just made the Broward County Sheriff's Department, the FBI and the mental health professionals who were directly involved in the Parkland shooter's case simply do their jobs, there would have been no shootings and those 17 victims would be alive today.

But blame the NRA and blame guns because that's politically expedient and on your check list.

It's sad that we give special credence of expertise to victims of gun violence, as if they know more because of their trauma. Actually, it is because of their trauma that we can generally expect their thoughts to be tied into their emotions and have less world validity than experts who have analyzed real data from an objective, scientific perspective.

So young Hogg, you have your fifteen minutes of fame. Make the most of it.

Developing: Active shooter in custody at Ft. Lauderdale Int'l Airport

Developing -- Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport: five people dead and a shooting suspect has been taken into custody, authorities say.

At 2:30 p.m. local time the TSA said there was another active shooter at the airport and all terminals were closed, but this wasn't confirmed by law enforcement, and later proved to be unfounded and there is no second suspect. The initial shooting began at 1:00 p.m. local time.

The suspect in custody is identified as Esteban Santiago, 26, according to Sen. Bill Nelson. He said the suspect was carrying military ID. He was a passenger on an Air Canada flight and had a gun packed in his bag.

Eight people were rushed to hospitals.

"It was very surreal," John Schlicher, a witness told the media, using one of the popular words for 2016 aside from bigly.

The witness described the shooter as a dark hair, slender man, probably in his 30s, wearing a Star Wars tee-shirt. "He was shooting people that were down on the ground too," Schlicher said.

Santiago apparently got down on the ground and waited for the police to arrive once he ran out of ammo, a witness told CBS News.

Lame Duck President Barack Hussein Obama was allegedly briefed on the shooting by his Homeland Security adviser. An anonymous source said that the so-called president was glad to know the suspect didn't shout out anything in Arabic while he mercilessly tried to kill as many strangers as possible.

The airport tweeted that there was an "ongoing incident" at Terminal 2 baggage claim. That terminal serves Delta Air Lines and Air Canada.

Video posted on Instagram showed several wounded individuals on the ground at the same terminal, one of whom appeared to be lying in a pool of blood with a head wound.

Gov. Rick Scott's office said state law enforcement hasn't confirmed a motive for the shooting and he is on his way to the scene as I frantically type this.

The airport is the 21st busiest in the USA and serves 21 different airlines. Almost 2.5 million people passed through around Thanksgiving.

What's becoming increasingly clear is our need to beef up airport security and perhaps get rid of the clowns who check your shoes and large bottles of shampoo carried by 84-year-old wheelchair-bound nuns.

It is now 4:00 p.m. local time and the airport remains closed.
