We watched the House while McConnell makes quiet move against 2 GOP Senators

All eyes were on House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) as he was kicking Ilhan Omar (D-MN) off the House Foreign Affairs Committee along with Adam Schiff (D-CA) and Eric Swalwell (D-CA) off the House Intelligence Committee.

But while this was taking place, two prominent Republicans with excellent conservative credentials were losing their committee seats in the senate on orders from Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY)! [Yes, an exclamation point is proper in these circumstances.]

McConnell removed Sens. Rick Scott (FL) and Mike Lee (UT) both on the Senate Commerce Committee on Wednesday, as reported by Fox News. They are among some of McConnell's most vocal critics in the senate Republican caucus.

Scott spoke to CNN and gave his view as to why McConnell booted him off the committee.

“He didn’t like that I opposed him because I believe we have to have ideas — fight over ideas. And so, he took Mike Lee and I off the committee.”

Scott — who reportedly learned that he’d been removed from the powerful senate committee via text message — was apparently “furious” over McConnell’s act to remove him, according to the Hill.

Scott challenged McConnell for the minority leader position after the GOP failed to have a "red wave" victory in the 2022 midterms. This may have been the reason the old turtle used the committee as payback to Scott.

Meanwhile, Mike Lee also issued a tweet throwing shade at McConnell after his committee removal:
Mitch happens. 💅 https://t.co/fs3CVVgUmS

Charlie Kirk showed his support for Lee and Scott posting:
Mitch McConnell just booted Senators Mike Lee and Rick Scott from the Senate Commerce Committee. These are two of the best senators in the country.

Their crime? Challenging Mitch McConnell.

The DC swamp strikes again.

The Republican Party is failing their voters. The leadership is obviously more interested in their self-preservation and power than what's good for their constituents. This explains why there was no "red wave" and why the Democrats were able to increase their majority in the Senate in the midterm elections last year.

It's time to get rid of the dead wood and make some serious changes.

Do you agree?
