Van Hollen's trip to El Salvador might be illegal: libs used it as pretext for Michael Flynn probe

Senator Chris Van Hollen, (D-MD), decided to play cowboy diplomat, jetting off to El Salvador to spring a deportee named Kilmar Abrego Garcia. 

This isn’t just a bad look—it’s potentially illegal. 

Enter the Logan Act of 1799, a law that says, in no uncertain terms, you don’t get to freelance America’s foreign policy. The statute? Clear as day: any American who corresponds with foreign officials “with intent to influence the[ir] measures … in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States” faces fines or jail time.

Now, let’s rewind to the namesake of this act, George Logan, a Pennsylvania senator who thought he could charm French diplomat Charles de Talleyrand into ending the Quasi War after Paris gave President John Adams the cold shoulder. Logan even had a letter from Vice President Thomas Jefferson in his pocket, trying to sweet-talk the French. Sound familiar? It should, because conservatives are now asking if Van Hollen’s little Salvadoran adventure crosses the same line.

Roger Stone, never one to mince words, took to X and dropped a bombshell: “Why hasn’t this U.S. senator been arrested for violation of the Logan Act? It’s illegal to conduct your own foreign policy.” 

Boom. 

WMAL’s Vince Coglianese went further, reading the Logan Act on air and posing the million-dollar question to his listeners: “Is Chris Van Hollen violating the Logan Act?” He pointed out the hypocrisy, noting, “Because this is what they accused General [Michael] Flynn of doing … the incoming national security advisor … who was merely having conversations with foreign diplomats [after] people had chosen President Donald Trump.” 

The left clutched their pearls when Flynn chatted with Russian ambassador Sergei Kislyak before Trump’s first inauguration, screaming “Logan Act!” until it sparked an FBI probe that torpedoed Flynn’s career. Notes from FBI agent Peter Strzok literally read, “VP: Logan Act,” hinting Joe Biden himself pushed the idea, while Jim Comey shrugged that Flynn’s talks seemed “legit.” Double standards, anyone?

Fox News contributor Byron York, always a voice of reason, chimed in on X, admitting he’s long called the Logan Act a “dead letter.” But here’s the kicker: “But politically, it’s useful to know that Sen. Van Hollen traveled to a foreign country to bash the President of the United States.” Ouch. The American Accountability Foundation isn’t letting this slide either. They fired off a letter to Senate Ethics Committee Chairman James Lankford, (R-OK), demanding a probe. AAF’s Thomas Jones didn’t hold back, calling Garcia “essentially an enemy combatant in the ongoing invasion … by transnational gangs.” That’s not hyperbole; that’s the border crisis the left pretends doesn’t exist.

The Logan Act’s been weaponized before. Trump’s critics screeched about it when Bob Woodward’s book claimed the former president had calls with Vladimir Putin between White House stints. The Lincoln Project and Kamala Harris piled on, naturally. FBI notes from the Flynn saga even show agents debating whether to trick him into admitting a Logan Act violation: “What is our goal?” ex-FBI counterintelligence chief Bill Priestap wrote. “Truth/Admission or to get him to lie, so we can prosecute him or get him fired?” Charming.

This isn’t new. Ronald Reagan floated using the Logan Act against Jesse Jackson for his Cuba and Nicaragua jaunts in the ‘80s. Trump called out John Kerry and Christopher Murphy for their Iran contacts in 2019 and 2020. Murphy’s response? “It’s literally my job to meet with foreign leaders,” he said, hiding behind his Senate subcommittee role. 

Cute. Yet, here’s the rub: no one’s ever been convicted under the Logan Act. George Logan himself got a pass, grandfathered out. Rep. Guy Reschenthaler, (R-PA), tried to repeal this relic, but no dice.

So, what’s the deal? Van Hollen’s stunt reeks of hypocrisy, undermining U.S. policy while the left stays silent. The Logan Act may be a dusty law, but it exposes the left’s selective outrage. If Flynn was fair game, why not Van Hollen? The answer, folks, is politics. Pure, unadulterated politics.

Michael Flynn calls for "one religion" in US

Former national security adviser to President Trump, and former Lieutenant General of the Army Michael Flynn, has called for the United States to have "one religion." If we were to guess which religion of the myriad ones that exist he proposes, the best guess would be the religion he practices, which is Catholicism.

There is nothing wrong with Catholicism insofar as religion goes, but there is also nothing wrong with Hinduism, Judaism, Jainism, and all the world's 'isms' in a "live and let live" society.

Flynn spoke Saturday at a Texas rally for ReAwaken America, a Christian-focused speaking tour backed by America Faith, a Christian news network.

“If we are going to have one nation under God, which we must, we have to have one religion. One nation under God, and one religion under God,” he said.

This not only put a bad taste in the mouths of Christians who believe in freedom of religion and the right to worship how one chooses, it did the same with others with various religious beliefs.

The Anti Defamation League's CEO, Jonathan Greenblatt and the American Jewish Congress went on Twitter calling Flynn's statement "anti-American."

“To suggest that the United States of America, a nation founded on twin bedrocks of pluralism and the freedom to practice any religion, should ‘have one religion’ is anti-American, anti-democratic and downright dangerous,” Greenblatt said.

“Michael Flynn’s statements are both unacceptable & anti-American,” the American Jewish Congress tweeted. “Such dangerous rhetoric runs counter to American values and threatens the foundations of our democracy.”

Others joined in the condemnation of Flynn's words.

The rally was held at the sanctuary of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio. It is run by John Hagee, the prominent evangelical pastor and founder of the Christian Zionist group Christians United for Israel who spoke at former President Trump's inaugural address.

In response to a query, the Cornerstone press team said: “This past week, Cornerstone Church facilities were used by an outside organization. Cornerstone Church is not associated with this organization and does not endorse their views.”

Remember, President Trump fired Flynn after he admitted to lying to senior Trump administration officials about conversations he’d had with Russian officials. He pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about those conversations.

Greenblatt performed some verbal calisthenics and tried to tie Flynn’s rhetoric to the Jan. 6 Capitol protests in which an unarmed woman was shot and killed by a Capitol police officer. And while Flynn's rhetoric sucks lemon heads, it's a real stretch to tie them together. 

Flynn had at least one Jewish backer: Josh Mandel, a Republican candidate for senator in Ohio who would say anything to get elected and who has pushed for what he calls “Judeo-Christian” values in his campaign. Mandel said on Twitter, “We stand with General Flynn.”

Sorry, but we conservatives and even a few liberals [as opposed to leftists] stand for the U.S. Constitution and freedom of religion. 

As far as this writer is concerned, Michael Flynn is irrelevant and will no longer be taken seriously.

Rice was told by Obama to write a CYA memo

Well, it turns out that former national security adviser Susan Rice was allegedly instructed by the Obama White House to write her memo about the Oval Office meeting with top officials regarding Michael Flynn, according to a report. The meeting also included Obama himself and Joe Biden.

The memo was written on the same day Donald Trump was sworn into office--January 20, 2017 and it concerned the meeting which took place two weeks prior.

On Wednesday, Fox News correspondent Gillian Turner reported  that Rice’s team confirmed to Fox News that “she was directed by White House Counsel to write the Jan 20, 2017 memorandum documenting an Oval Office meeting in which President Obama [and] National Security officials discussed Michael Flynn.”

Turner tweeted:

“The meeting took place on January 5, 2017, and involved Rice, Obama, and Vice President Biden, the administration’s top political hierarchy on national-security matters, along with Obama’s top law-enforcement and counterintelligence officials, deputy attorney general Sally Yates (soon formally to take the acting AG role she was already performing), and FBI director James Comey,” former U.S. Attorney Andrew McCarthy wrote Wednesday. “Prior redactions had already demonstrated that the meeting’s central purpose was to discuss the rationale for withholding intelligence about Russia from the incoming Trump national-security team.”

Rice’s “TOP SECRET” memo from January 20, 2017, was declassified by the Acting Director of the U.S. National Intelligence Richard Grenell and it stated:

On January 5, following a briefing by IC leadership on Russian hacking during the 2016 Presidential election, President Obama had a brief follow-on conversation with FBI Director Jim Comey and Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates in the Oval Office. Vice President Biden and I were also present. 

President Obama began the conversation by stressing his continued commitment to ensuring that every aspect of this issue is handled by the Intelligence and law enforcement communities “by the book”. The President stressed that he is not asking about, initiating or instructing anything from a law enforcement perspective. He reiterated that our law enforcement team needs to proceed as it normally would by the book. 

From a national security perspective, however, President Obama said he wants to be sure that, as we engage with the incoming team, we are mindful to ascertain if there is any reason that we cannot share information fully as it relates to Russia. 

Director Comey affirmed that he is proceeding “by the book” as it relates to law enforcement. From a national security perspective, Comey said he does have some concerns that incoming NSA Flynn is speaking frequently with Russian Ambassador Kislyak. Comey said that could be an issue as it relates to sharing sensitive information. President Obama asked if Comey was saying that the NSC should not pass sensitive information related to Russia to Flynn. Comey replied ”potentially.” He added that he has no indication thus far that Flynn has passed classified information to Kislyak, but he noted that “the level of communication is unusual.” 

The President asked Comey to inform him if anything changes in the next few weeks that should affect how we share classified information with the incoming team. Comey said he would.

Attorney General William Barr debunked the claims that there was anything wrong with the communication Flynn had with the Russian ambassador.

“That call, there was nothing wrong with it whatever,” Barr said. “In fact, it was laudable. He– and it was nothing inconsistent with the Obama administration’s policies. And it was in U.S. interests. He was saying to the Russians, you know, ‘Don’t escalate.’ And they asked him if he remembered saying that, and he said he didn’t remember that.”

It was a case of Flynn doing his job.

McCarthy noted how Rice kept changing her story as more information became available. 

“Rice has gone from claiming to have had no knowledge of Obama administration monitoring of Flynn and other Trump associates, to claiming no knowledge of any unmaskings of Trump associates, to admitting she was complicit in the unmaskings, to — now — a call for the recorded conversation between retired general Michael Flynn and Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak to be released because it would purportedly show that the Obama administration had good reason to be concerned about Flynn (y’know, the guy she said she had no idea they were investigating).”

Maybe the whole debacle over Flynn was simply due to a video.

Federal judge orders portions of Mueller report unredacted & made public

U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan has ordered portions of the special counsel Robert Mueller’s report to be unredacted and made public in the criminal case against former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

Sullivan issued the limited order on Thursday and it pertains to portions of the report relating to Flynn are redacted and would be made public under the order.

This is the first time a federal judge has ordered the Justice Department to make public portions of a report the agency had kept secret.

After almost two years, Mueller  finally concluded his investigation in March. Attorney General William P. Barr released a redacted version of Mueller’s report in April but the Democrats want the report to be totally unredacted, which is against the law. Several members of the House Judicial Committee, led by Jerry "Eyebrows" Nadler, want the report fully unredacted but that is not going to happen and is just a distraction by his party.

Gen. Flynn is awaiting sentence after admitting to lying to the FBI about his conversations with the Russian ambassador to the United States.

Comey slams Trump, Sarah Sanders destroys Comey

On Monday, disgraced and fired FBI director James "Stretch" Comey attacked not only the GOP, but also President Trump. White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders destroyed him.

The self-righteously sanctimonious liar testified in front of Congress over his highly questionable handling of the criminal investigation into Hillary Clinton's illegal, private email server and the use of the Steele dossier that was the key in launching the investigation into then-candidate Donald Trump's presidential campaign.

Comey, ever the "perfectionist" said "I don't know," or "I can't recall," over 200 times! 

"Republicans used to understand that the actions of a President matter," Comey bloviated with an air of moral superiority that he doesn't deserve. "That words of a President matter, the rule of law matters in the truth matters. Where are those Republicans today? At some point, someone has to stand up and in the face of fear of Fox News, fear of their base, fear of mean tweets, stand up for the values of this country and not slink away into retirement, but stand up and speak the truth."

Fox News? The only major network that doesn't carry water for the left? Is he for real?

Comey later said Republicans would have to "explain to their grandchildren what they did today,"  because he always needs to sound superior while actually being inferior in character and ethics.

Several hours after Comey pontificated, Sanders blasted him on Twitter:

"Republicans should stand up to Comey and his tremendous corruption - from the fake Hillary Clinton investigation, to lying and leaking, to FISA abuse, and a list too long to name," Sanders tweeted. "The President did the country a service by firing him and exposing him for the shameless fraud he is."

Comey abused his position when he suggested Clinton ought not to be indicted in spite of overwhelming proof that she broke the law. And offering his opinion on the matter was never in his job description. That was up to the Justice Department, not the FBI.

And the way his FBI went after Michael Flynn is deplorable, but Comey doesn't deserve that moniker, because the term has changed its meaning.

Missing Flynn document in Mueller file could be a problem in sentencing

A key document from Special Counsel Robert Mueller's latest filing regarding the [former national security adviser] Michael Flynn case could be a problem at Tuesday's scheduled sentencing hearing.

Special counsel has been ordered to turn over all government documents and "memoranda" related to Flynn's questioning by the FBI after his attorneys claimed the agency had discouraged him form having a lawyer present when he was interviewed on January 24, 2017 at the White House. It appears that U.S. District Judge Emmett G. Sullivan is rather miffed over the missing document.

Mueller met Sullivan’s Friday afternoon deadline and provided documents, some of which were heavily redacted.

Mueller's team defended the way the FBI handled the interview with Flynn and claimed that nothing about how it was conducted "caused the defendant to make false statements to the FBI." How they could get into Flynn's mind and know that was the case had not been revealed, but evidently, the FBI has some scary stuff going and can read minds.

The filing in question, known as a "302", [to memorialize interviews] detailed the July 19, 2017 interview with Peter Strzok, the paramour of Lisa Page.

Strzok, who was in the throes of an extra-marital affair with a lawyer for the FBI, Lisa Page (whose affair with Strzok was also extra-marital) was one of two agents performing the interview. It was revealed that Strzok and his paramour were texting each other over their hatred for Trump and Strzok wanted to do something to stop him. Since Flynn worked for Trump, there was no love lost between Strzok and Flynn, in which case the former could direct all his love to Page. Anyway, Flynn described the meeting in the document filed Aug. 22, 2017.

If this sounds confusing, imagine having to go through life with a name that's spelled "Strzok" but pronounced "Schmuck."

But not included in the filing was an original 302 from the period of the January 2017 Flynn interview.

Anyway, we shall see tomorrow whether Flynn is handed down a sentence, walks away a free man, or has a sentencing delay.

Nunes: wants AG Sessions held in contempt of Congress

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) wants to hold Attorney General Jeff Sessions held in contempt of Congress. And why not? Sessions is as useless as a yo-yo to a bottle fly.

The committee is looking into allegations that the DoJ and FBI abused the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) in looking into the Trump campaign.

Nunes appeared on Fox News' "Fox and Friends" Sunday. "On Thursday we discovered that they are not going to comply with our subpoena," he said, adding, "the only thing left to do is we have to move quickly to hold the attorney general of the United States in contempt and that is what I will press for this week."

Nunes sent Sessions a classified letter two weeks ago but it was not acknowledged, so he then sent a subpoena, although Nunes conceded that it's possible the little AG wasn't aware of it. But he said that he will not accept any "excuses" relating to national security concerns in terms of the ongoing Russian probe and how it was handled.

This has been a "go-to" excuse by the FBI and DoJ in the past and Nunes is apparently fed up with it. "How many times have we heard this argument throughout this investigation?" he asked.

House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) agrees with Nunes.

"I have deeper and deeper concerns the more I see some of this, not only the stonewalling, but what's been in some of these memos," Scalise said on 'Fox and Friends'. "We're also trying to get a lot of other information from the Department of Justice about this investigation, and everything that we uncover raises even deeper concerns about the direction."

The Department of Justice says that it responded to the Nunes letter, said Maria Bartiromo on "Sunday Morning Futures."

Nunes called the FBI and DoJ redaction of his committee's Russia report was "excessive and sloppy." The committee's report found that FBI agents "did not detect any deception during [Michael] Flynn's interview."

But you would never know that if your only news source was CNN, MSNBC, NBC, ABC, or CBS.

Mistake-prone ABC News reporter doesn't report in

He's nowhere to be found. ABC News' chief investigative (LOL--he investigates like Barack Obama leads) correspondent, Brian Ross, was scheduled to return to work Thursday after being suspended for a huge screwup regarding an "exclusive" report on President Trump and Russia.

Ross was put on a 4-week unpaid suspension after incorrectly reporting on live TV that fired National Security Adviser Michael Flynn would be testifying that Trump ordered him to make contact with the Russians about foreign policy while he was still a candidate. The stock market fell over 300 points after the announcement, losing billions of dollars for American investors, and it raised the specter of Trump's impeachment.

Except that it didn't because it wasn't true.

ABC was forced to retract the report and ABC News President James Goldston said on a conference call that he'd never felt more "rage, disappointment and frustration" in his entire career, and that Ross would never cover Trump again. 

It isn't clear if the disappointment was in the incompetency of Ross or that Trump didn't contact the Russians concerning foreign policy . . . or both.

An ABC News spokesperson wouldn't comment as to whether Ross will ever be returning to ABC at all.

When Ross was suspended, Trump told a Florida crowd that Ross should be fired and that he will build a wall. 

"They took this fraudster from ABC," Trump said. "They suspended him for a month. They should have fired him for what he wrote. He drove the stock market down 350 points in minutes, which, by the way, tells you they really like me right? When you think of it, and you know what he cost people? And I said to everybody get yourself a lawyer and sue ABC News, sue them."

I don't think Trump should be telling companies what to do. Sure, Ross is a screwup, but it isn't the job of the president to get involved with all the minutiae in the world or "punch down" whenever he's attacked verbally. This is what drives conservatives crazy.

Ross tweeted that his job "is to hold people accountable," and noted "That's why I agree with being held accountable myself."

And if he didn't hold himself accountable? How would that have played out?

Ross has screwed up before and was never held accountable. In 2001 he incorrectly reported that Saddam Hussein's regime may have been responsible for anthrax attacks that terrorize the United States following 9/11. 

In 2006, he reported that then-House Speaker Dennis Hastert was a target of a federal corruption probe involving Jack Abramoff. But Hastert was never approached by prosecutors, proving Ross wrong again, and again, no apology.

Besides this latest flub, the one that comes almost as close is the where in 2012, Ross reported that Colorado theater shooter James Holmes may have had ties to the Tea Party movement.

"There is a Jim Holmes of Aurora, Colorado, page on the Colorado Tea Party site as well, talking about him joining the tea party last year," the fake news reporter reported on "Good Morning America." He went on, "Now, we don't know if this is the same Jim Holmes--but this is Jim Holmes of Aurora, Colorado."

Really, what an ass.

He was called "America's Wrongest Reporter" by Gawker, a now-defunct website.

"When there's breaking news, especially about terrorism and national security, ABC News' Brian Ross is there," wrote John Cook on Gawker. "And under no circumstances should you listen to anything he says."

So let's hope he's gone for good.

GOPers allege DOJ 'double standard' in Mueller probe

There are allegations by Republicans of anti-Trump bias within Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigative team and that a "double standard" exists at the Justice Department. 

GOP critics say that Hillary Clinton received "special" treatment when she was under so-called investigation over her illegal personal email server when she was the incompetent secretary of state. 

"Hillary Clinton gets special justice, and at the same time we're siccing people who hate the president . . . on him and that's deeply unfair," Rep. Matt Gaetz (R.-Fla.) told "Fox & Friends" Wednesday.

Gaetz and other House Republicans now want the FBI Director Christopher Wray to investigate the FBI's treatment of Clinton and then-candidate Trump during the 2016 campaign, and compare them. 

Gaetz has specifically sought information on former FBI head Andrew McCabe who said in an email last fall that the Clinton case was referred to as "special." And what we have recently learned about Mueller's team of liberal Hillary donors and Trump-haters, only adds to these concerns.

It was just learned this past weekend that FBI official Peter Strzok (pronounced "Strzhzhokztlmfk") was removed from the Mueller probe over the summer after he allegedly sent anti-Trump texts to his mistress, an FBI lawyer.

This past Tuesday, Judicial Watch, a conservative advocacy group, released an email showing a Mueller deputy singing the praises of outgoing acting Attorney General Sally Yates after Trump fired her in January for refusing to defend his travel ban.

The Mueller deputy, Andrew Weissmann wrote in an email to Yates:

"I am so proud. And in awe. Thank you so much. All my deepest respects."

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton called the Weissmann document an "astonishing and disturbing find."

President Trump called the Strzok views regarding his role in the Clinton email investigation as "tainted" and "very dishonest." It could have been worse--President Trump could have called it "very, very dishonest."

Strzok oversaw the FBI interviews with Michael Flynn, who pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI. Hillary Clinton and her minions also lied to the FBI, but they are "special."

Strzok (aka "Petey Consonants") was also present during the July 2016 interview with wicked Hillary at the close of the email investigation, right before James Comey, the then-FBI showboat director, called her grossly negligent actions "extremely careless." Because of this wording, he recommended no criminal charges.

Gaetz called that a "double standard" and joined other House GOPers who also want answers to what role Strzok played in the controversial anti-Trump dossier. He called for cleaning out the "deep state" of people "who are so biased against Donald Trump."

Remember, both Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills didn't get charged with lying to the FBI when they told them they were unaware of Clinton's private server when, in fact, there were email exchanges between the three stooges.

Special Counsel spokesman Peter Carr claimed Mueller's office removed Strzok from the Russia probe "immediately upon learning of the allegations" of the anti-Trump texts.

In a separate issue, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) has threatened a contempt resolution against leaders in the Justice Department and FBI if they continue to withhold key information related to the dossier and other issues. 

The DOJ is in the process of handing over Strzok's anti-Trump text messages. The agency also contacted the office of House Speaker Paul Ryan to establish a date for Strzok's appearance before the House Intelligence  Committee staff. There will also be two additional witnesses who had been sought after by the Nunes team.

A DOJ spokeswoman said Sunday that the agency will "continue to work with congressional committees to provide the information they request consistent with our national security responsibilities."

And if they do, chickens will darken the sky.

FBI agent in Russian probe oversaw FLynn interviews and changed Comey memos

The FBI agent removed from Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into the Russia probe (which has little to nothing to say about Russia) due to sending anti-Trump tweets to his mistress, oversaw the bureau's interviews with fired National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

Peter Strzok (pronounced Strzhzhokztlmfk) a former deputy to the assistant director for counterintelligence at the FBI, also was confirmed by Fox News to have changed James Comey's early draft language about Hillary Clinton's illegal actions regarding her illegal private server from "grossly negligent" to "extremely careless," rather than "grossly negligent" to "extremely grossly negligent, illegal and stupid" as was the case.

The reason for Strzok's change was to keep Hillary Clinton from going to federal prison where she wouldn't have lasted an hour. The term "gross negligence" calls for just such an action.

Flynn pleaded guilty Friday to lying to the FBI about [legally] reaching out to Russian officials while Trump was President-elect, a perfectly normal thing that didn't need to be lied about.

The memo's wording change came to light in November after newly reported memos to Congress showed that a May 2016 draft of Comey's statement closing out the email investigation accused the world's most distrusted human being of being "grossly negligent." A June 2016 draft used the words "extremely careless."

Strzok? Perhaps

Strzok saved Hillary's fat butt as the new wording was final when grandstanding Comey announced that Clinton wouldn't face any charges in the email investigation.

So when Trump said on the campaign trail during a debate that if he became president he would "lock her up," he was wrong . . . thus far.

Strzok is being reviewed by the DOJ's Office of Inspector General for the role he played in the Clinton email investigation that put our country in jeopardy.

A source close to the situation told Fox News that the probe into Strzok's role in a number of other politically sensitive cases, should be completed by "very early next year."

Now the question is, how did Mueller find out about Strzok's anti-Trump texts?

ABC's Brian Ross incredibly wrong again

ABC's Brian Ross, their chief investigative reporter (LOL) was labeled "America's Wrongest Reporter" by Gawker in 2012, saying that he was "breathtakingly reckless" after declaring that the Colorado movie theater shooter may have had Tea Party ties, based on Ross's discovery that someone on the Internet shared the name James Holmes with the shooter.

One can also imagine the connections he would have like to make with Sherlock and Oliver Wendell.

Now the idiot has caused the network to issue an embarrassing correction with his balderdash bombshell "exclusive" about Michael Flynn and President Trump, which caused Joy Behar to have uncontrollable titters during the special-ed show The View. 

ABC spokespeople were mum over whether Ross will be disciplined for yet another screwup, but since it was about President Trump, he may receive kudos for bringing a moment of joy to Behar and the gang.

Ross's report was delivered live to ABC stations during a "special report" on Friday. It claimed that Flynn would testify that Donald Trump had ordered him to make contact with Russians about foreign policy while he was still a candidate. If this was true, it could raise the issue of impeachment.

The Dow plummeted from the "news."

It wasn't until later in the day that ABC issued a "clarification" to the fake news report. They said Trump's alleged directive came DURING THE TRANSITION, AFTER HE HAD BEEN ELECTED president.

A yooge distinction!

After Ross screwed up on Friday morning, he appeared on "World News Tonight" to correct himself.

"During a live Special Report, ABC News reported that a confidant of Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn said Flynn was prepared to testify that then-candidate Donald Trump instructed him to contact Russian officials during the campaign. That source later clarified that during the campaign, Trump assigned Flynn and a small circle of other senior advisers to find ways to repair relations with Russia and other hot spots. It was shortly after the election, that President-elect Trump directed Flynn to contact Russian officials on topics that included working jointly against ISIS."

Political blogger Charles P. Pierce even predicted the Ross report would be bogus based on the idiot's reputation.

"I'm going to hold fire on the ABC report. Ross has been known to get out over his skis. But, if it's true, that's the ballgame," Pierce tweeted before the correction was made.

Even CNN's bald-headed stooge, Brian Stelter actually appeared to be calling for Ross to be disciplined.

"When there's breaking news, especially about terrorism and national security, ABC News' Brian Ross is there. And under no circumstances should you listen to anything he says," John Cook of Gawker wrote.

Ross's report "Taking on Toyota" was widely criticized for relying on information from trial lawyers. He also falsely connected domestic anthrax attacks to Iraq and stirred controversy with disputed reporting on the Detroit "underwear bomber."

It's no wonder why Ross is one of the most prize-winning investigative reporters and scores a seven-figure salary in spite of his long history of screwups. 

And because ABC is in the tank for the left, they will likely do nothing and say little about Ross.

ABC's Chief Global Affairs Correspondent Martha Raddatz was accused by then- President elect Trump for crying on air on election night. She denies this, but the video should help you decide. Interestingly, former President Obama attended her second of three weddings.

ABC's entertainment programming is extremely liberal, making everything they do political and taking the joy out of Behar. The network recently shelled out $25 million to employ Clinton activist Katy Perry as a judge for a revised season of "American Idol," and Disney CEO Bob Iger is probably going to make a White House run in 2020.

There are a number of reasons Trump won the election, and networks like ABC, MSNBC CNN, etc.,  that are so obviously bias and hateful helped him win because you can't fool all of the people all of the time.

Flynn says Trump directed him to speak with Russia

The stock market fell after a report that Michael Flynn was told by President Trump to speak with the Russians came to light.

ABC News reported that the former national security adviser would testify that he was told by the current administration to make contact with Russians during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Flynn pleaded guilty Friday of lying to the FBI--that is a felony--about his post-election contacts with the Russian ambassador to the U.S.

According to ABC and an updated report, Flynn will say Trump asked him directly to make contact with Russia "initially as a way to work together to fight ISIS in Syria."

Flynn said in a statement that he agreed to "cooperate with the Special Counsel's Office reflect a decision I made in the best interest of my family and of our country."

When he mentioned his family, he may have been referring to his son, who is also in 'hot water' regarding a deal he allegedly agreed to that involved kidnapping a Turkish religious activist back to Turkey.

This is just the beginning of what could turn out to be a blockbuster story so keep watching and hey, maybe subscribe to Brain Flushings.

Lordy, Comey visits the 'Gray Lady'

Former FBI director and failed forward for the NBA James Comey surreptitiously visited the New York Times on Thursday with his relatively short wife, according to my source who uses the pseudonym Vinny Boombots.

Now that President Trump admitted he made the whole thing up about making secret recordings about his conversations with Comey, it was obvious that "the coast is clear" for the 'tall drink of water' to speak with the 'Gray Lady' and tell them how he was wronged by POTUS.

This was one of the few public appearances Comey has made since he admitted to "taking a leak at The Times," Vinny said.

Comey kept his coolers on (sunglasses from India) and looked straight ahead as he and his wife, Patrice Failor (rhymes with "failure") also wearing shades, diddy-bopped along Eighth Avenue. 

Vinny thought he noticed tiny tears gently leaking down Comey's cheeks and it gave him pause as he considered the purpose of the emotionally vulnerable man's visit to The Times. 

Vinny couldn't ascertain the purpose of the visit, but it came just weeks after President Trump suggested Comey may be responsible for more leakage about the administration since Trump canned him.

Comey admitted he was the leaker to The Times regarding a private, unorthodox meeting he had with Trump just before the firing.

According to Boombots, there is a high probability that Comey will try to have The Times revisit the Russian investigation since it hasn't been in the news recently and Comey had his feelings hurt.

But if Trump did anything untoward in the private conversation with Comey, asking him to lay off of Flynn, and the former FBI director did nothing about it, then he would be just as guilty as the president for asking.

After he was fired on May 8th, Comey gave details of the memo to 'a friend' at The Times in response to a Trumptweet who threatened: "Comey better hope that there are no "tapes" of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!"

Always that irrelevant exclamation point!

At his testimony to the Senate Intelligence Committee in June, Comey said he believed the president was subtly asking him to drop the investigation into Flynn and that due to his failure to do so, he was fired.

"Yeah, Donald Trump is as subtle as a baseball bat to the head," Vinny said. 

Trump said Comey was canned for the way he handled Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server when she was Secretary of State. He also believes that Comey is likely the source of many leaks in his administration.

"I believe the James Comey leaks will be far more prevalent than anyone ever thought possible. Totally illegal? Very 'cowardly!' Trump said June 11th. 

Although Trump admitted he made no recordings, he foolishly said that someone else could have. 

"That should scare the crap out of all of us who takes Trump seriously--to think the President of the United States doesn't know if his White House conversations are being recorded," Vinny said.

Mueller hired 8 more lawyers for Trump probe

Special Counsel Robert Mueller is going full-hog into the Russian 2016 campaign interference investigation and hired an additional eight lawyers for the case President Trump just can't stop tweeting about.

The probe will cover alleged collusion, obstruction of justice and foreign interference. It is also looking into Trump's top aides and former campaign advisers and will include Jared Kushner, his son-in-law. Of course, former national security adviser Michael Flynn will be under the legal microscope as well.

The Daily Wire had previously reported about the three attorneys brought in by Mueller who were donors to Democrats including Hillary Clinton. In fact, one lawyer, Jeannie Rhee, actually represented Crooked Hillary twice, "once personally, and once for the Clinton Foundation." [Also personally, in a way]. 

CNN said that Mueller will probably bring on even more attorneys, but who can believe what they say? But in any case, they said his "investigators have asked for informatin and will talk to Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats and National Security Agency Director Adm. Mike Rogers, according to a source [obviously an anonymous as is their wont], who said they have also sought information from recently retired NSA Deputy Director Richard Ledgett."

If what we know of the evidence [that is, there is no evidence] proves that's all there is, President Trump would be well off--but only if he could keep his Twitter finger in his pants.

The Comey memo, impeachment and Hillary's national security amnesia

The plot thickens (or sickens) in the Trump/Comey story regarding the Flynn/Russia probe.

The White House pushed back on the report that former FBI Director James Comey, in a memo, claims that President Trump asked him to end the probe into former national security adviser Michael Flynn and his ties to Russia.

According to canary cage liner New York Times, Comey's memo was written soon after he met with Mr. Trump on Valentine's Day, the day following Flynn's resignation from the Trump administration. Of course, The Times didn't actually see the memo, but there's nothing new about that. Apparently a Comey associate read parts of it to a "reporter" over the phone.

The memo was characterized as the clearest evidence that President Trump tried to influence the Justice Department and FBI probe as to whether the Russians meddled in the 2016 presidential campaign and alleged links to Trump's associates.

And if Comey wrote a memo, it has to be fact. (He would never do anything like that to create ammunition, should he need it, to save his reputation, would he?)

"[T]he President has never asked Mr. Comey or anyone else to end any investigation, including any investigation involving General Flynn," an official said. "The President has the utmost respect for our law enforcement agencies, and all investigations. This is not a truthful or accurate portrayal of the conversation between the President and Mr. Comey."

According to The Times, Trump told Comey, "I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go . . . He is a good guy I hope you can let this go."

The Times alleges that Comey wrote that Trump told him Flynn did nothing wrong but Comey didn't say he would limit the investigation--he merely replied, "I agree he is a good guy."

In an Associated Press report, they say Comey wrote a memo stating Trump asked him to actually shut down the investigation following the January 27th dinner between Trump and Comey (the dessert was delicious, I understand). It is not clear the AP and New York Times reports refer to the same memo or if Comey wrote memos after two separate meetings.

But acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe (whose wife received $700,000 in Democratic donations) also testified that there "has been no effort to impede our investigation to date." 

The FBI is mum about the memo.

The Justice Department also remained mum on The New York Times report, on the existence of the memo or even if there was any such conversation between Trump and Comey.

Democrats claim the President fired Comey out of frustration with the Russian investigation. "Enough is enough," Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) said, stating an old, worn out tautology. "Congress really needs to get to the bottom of this," he added. 

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (Nostrils--NY) said on the Senate floor that he was "shaken" by the report, but not the one about Hillary Clinton's private server that contained classified information on it.

"On a day when we thought things couldn't get any worse, they have," Schumer whined. "Concerns about our national security, the rule of law, and the independence of our nation's highest law enforcement agencies are mounting . . . the country is being tested in unprecedented ways."

He obviously forgot about Hillary's national security breach.

"After my election, I have more flexibility."--Barack Obama to Russian President Medvedev on 'hot mic'

It's almost laughable how the left sounds the alarm over an alleged relationship of the Trump administration with the Russians. 

They point out how Paul Manafort was an adviser to the Ukrainian president, a pro-Russian and how Carter Page, another Trump adviser, was involved in energy deals with Russian companies. And how Jeff Sessions actually spoke to a Russian official while on the Senate Armed Services Committee--even though it's a normal part of his job.

And of course, there's Michael Flynn and the speech he gave in Moscow as a private citizen . . . and so on.

As Peter Schweizer said, in an article for Fox News, it's important to examine these relationships, but "Still, those pushing the narrative of troubling ties to Russia lose all credibility by wholly ignoring the far deeper and more troubling relationships the Clintons and their closest aides have maintained with Russian government officials for years, including while they were in public office."

But the big difference here is that the Clinton deals involved enormous favors that benefitted Russian interests and involved hundreds of millions of dollars.

Like the speech Bill Clinton gave in Moscow in 2010 and received half a million dollars. Renaissance Capital, a Moscow firm paid the fee--a firm with close ties to Russian intelligence, and they admit it proudly.

No Russian donor was too embedded in Russian concerns to refuse. Schweizer mentions the following: 

Victor Vekselberg: a Putin confidant and head of Renova Group

Andrey Vavilov: a former Russian government official and Chairman of SuperOx, a research company that was part of "nuclear Cluster" at a government research facility

Elena Buturina: wife of a former Mayor of Moscow. She appeared to donate to the Clintons via JSC Inteco which she controls

And of course we have the 2010 Uranium One deal in which the Clinton Foundation received $145 million in "donations" from a Canadian uranium company that was sold to the Russian government. In order to seal the deal, several U.S. federal agencies needed to approve it, including Hillary's State Department. The Russians ended up with 20 percent of America's uranium which went to Rosatom, an entity that controls Russia's nuclear arsenal.

The fact that some of the Clinton Foundation donations were not disclosed by the Clintons should trouble all of us. President Obama required the Foundation to disclose all contributions as a condition of Hillary Clinton becoming Secretary of State, but she didn't. It was the Canadian tax records that uncovered the deal.

Then there's one of Hillary's closest aides, John Podesta who actually went into business with the Russian government while a Hillary Clinton adviser as Secretary of State.

Podesta was on the executive board of an energy company called Joule Unlimited. The Russian government invested a billion rubles (about $35 million) in the company. The money came from an investment fund called Rusnano, a fund started in 2007 by Putin and described as "Putin's Child" by Russian Education and Science Minister Andrei Fursenko.

Rusnano investments could also have military applications and it would be surprising if it didn't.

When Podesta went to the White House in 2014, where he served as counselor to Obama, he did not disclose his board membership in one of the Joule entities on his financial disclosure form. 

But the hypocritical left isn't concerned about what appears to be an actual intimate relationship with the Russians because it had nothing to do with Donald Trump.

POTUS calls for congressional probe into wiretapping of his campaign

The Trump administration called for congressional investigations on Sunday, into his claim the Obama administration orchestrated an attempt to gain information on then-GOP nominee Donald Trump.

Press Secretary Sean Spicer said in a statement: "Reports concerning potentially motivated investigations immediately ahead of the 2016 election are very troubling . . . President Donald J. Trump is requesting that as part of their investigation into Russian activity, the congressional intelligence committee exercise their oversight authority to determine whether executive branch investigative powers were abused in 2016."

In a reflexive tweet Mr. Trump wrote: "Who was it that secretly said to Russian President, 'Tell Vladimir that after the election I'll have more flexibility?'"

Spicer's statement comes after President Trump's explosive allegation that former President Obama ordered phones wiretapped at Trump Tower and added that nobody in his administration "will comment further until such oversight is conducted."

Trump's wiretap allegations in a bunch of tweets Saturday, along with the White House statement, are the latest developments in the "Vladimir Putin is trying to influence the U.S. election for Trump over his rival and shrew, Hillary Clinton" controversy. 

National Security Adviser Michael Flynn had to resign over this situation and Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from any DoJ probe in the matter because it was learned that he spoke with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak after a gaggle of Democrats did the same.

"Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my 'wires tapped' in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism," the president tweeted Saturday.

And then he tweeted again: "Is it legal for a sitting president to be 'wire tapping' a race for president prior to an election? Turned down by court earlier. A NEW LOW!"

It isn't clear to whom Mr. Trump was directing the legal question, but we can rule out Alan Dershowitz and Rosie O'Donnell.

And then he tweeted again that a "good lawyer could make a great case of the fact that President Obama was tapping my phones in October, just prior to election!"

And again: "How low has President Obama gone to tap (sic) my phones during the very sacred election process. This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!" he said, overusing exclamation points and asking rhetorical questions, as he often does.

Obama denied Trump's accusation that he had Trump's phones tapped weeks before the November election. But that doesn't mean he didn't have someone else do it for him--like Loretta "How-are-your-grandkids-Bill" Lynch.

But Kevin Lewis, an Obama towel boy and caddy, refuted the idea that Lynch or Obama had anything to do with the alleged wiretapping. "Neither President Obama nor any White House official ever ordered surveillance on any U.S. citizen. Any suggestion otherwise is simply racist false."

So deniable plausibility aside, it's possible that the FBI or an outside source did the tapping.

In a Breitbart article on Friday it claimed the Obama administration made two Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA) requests last year to monitor Trump's communications and a computer server in Trump Tower. The purpose was to determine if there were links with Russian banks.

No evidence of such links were found. Nada. Zilch.

Trump, on Sunday, has again attacked Obama saying he colluded with Russia.

Brilliant strategy: throw the grenade back at him.

MSM freaks out as Trump calls on less mainstream news outlets

President Trump met with Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and held a press conference afterward. But instead of calling on the old, established, liberal mainstream media outlets, lesser name outlets were called on.

WJLA, a local ABC affiliate and the Daily Caller, a conservative online news outlet were called on but neither asked President Trump about what he planned to do about his national security adviser Michael Flynn, who has been accused of speaking to Russian authorities before Trump took office.

So of course the mainstream media jumped on President Trump like an ISIS jihadist on a goat, saying that he was choosing favorites in order to avoid being asked that question.

The New York Times reporter Peter Baker tweeted: "By handpicking reporters, Trump manages to get through a news conference without being asked about Flynn." Obviously Baker forgot to mention that all U.S. presidents handpick reporters. All presidents.

Now you can see why President Trump didn't call on The New York Times. It was a smart move and a hearty LOL.

Trump rethinks waterboarding after speaking to 'Mad Dog' Mattis

President-elect Donald Trump is rethinking his position on torture (aka waterboarding) after discussing the issue with Marine Corps General 'Mad Dog' Mattis, the legendary military man who could scare the crap out of a shark during a feeding frenzy. 

Trump met with the retired four-star general on Saturday at his golf course in Bedminster, NJ and they spoke for an hour to discuss a secretary of defense position possibility.

Now that Trump kissed and made up with The New York Times (aka "the paper of record," aka "the Gray Lady," aka "the leftist rag") the President-elect revealed some information to reporters of that paper about part of their conversation.

The Times wrote: 

"He said, 'I've never found it to be useful,'" Mr. Trump said, describing the general's view of torturing terrorism suspects. He added that Mr. Mattis found more value in building trust and rewarding cooperation with terror suspects: "'Give me a pack of cigarettes and a couple of beers and I'll do better.'" He added: "I was very impressed by that answer."

So now Mr. Trump has reconsidered his position, which is indeed, a sign of reason and intelligence, or perhaps a sign that he tends to agree with the last person to whom he has spoken. Torture, he said, is "not going to make the kind of difference that a lot of people are thinking."

This is a contradictory position of Trump's pick for national security adviser, retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, who stated that "all options are on the table," [including that guy with the bag over his head that's getting water poured on it as he screams the first thing that comes to mind to get it to stop.]

Before Flynn campaigned for Trump, he was against the practice, but got on the bandwagon when Trump said he was on board with waterboarding.

If Trump has really changed his mind on the practice, that will sit well with national security experts who see problems with the legality of it.

Mattis appears to be at the top of Trump's list for defense secretary he told The Times. He said that he was "seriously considering" the retired general for the position.

Gen. Allen backs an anti-military leftist

We now have two U.S. generals going at it with each other over who is the better candidate, or the least worst, for president. 

Retired Army Lt. General Michael Flynn went after retired Marine Corps General John Allen who is in the tank for Hillary Clinton, endorsing her in yelling tones at the DNC on Thursday.

"I honestly don't know how John Allen can look at himself in the mirror and say why he supports Hillary Clinton," Flynn told Fox News.

"General Allen as a retired officer was in charge of our current strategy for well over a year . . . and during that period of time the rise of radical Islamism and ISIS, you know, it exponentially grew," Flynn said. "The strategy that John Allen was in charge of . . . it's a failed strategy."

As an ex-Marine, I am sad to say that I have to agree with the Army on this one. Allen, in John Kirby style, showed the country the political player  he is, and demonstrated that he wasn't so great as a general.

"I cannot see how John Allen can support somebody who perpetually cannot tell the truth," Flynn added.

Allen led forces in Afghanistan and vouched for Hillary as the leader (and deleter) the country needs.  

"She will protect this great country like she protected those brave men in Benghazi and those emails on her private server," he did not say.

What Allen did shout was: "We trust in her judgment. We believe in her vision for a united America, we believe in her vision of an America as a just and strong leader against the forces of hatred, the forces of chaos, and darkness. I tell you without hesitation or reservation that Hillary Clinton will be exactly, exactly the kind of commander-in-chief America needs."

He did not say why nor did he refer to the accomplishments that led up to his analysis.

What Hillary alluded to in her much too long and loud acceptance speech was that she would do the same wasted tactics that Obama used that have changed nothing.

ISIS was never mentioned. Islamic jihad was never mentioned. The recent terrorist attacks on American soil was never mentioned. 

And while Hillary Clinton said that she chose the "high ground" while Trump chose the low, she attacked him over and over at the convention, which is normal, but even then, she lied about saying she wouldn't.

Nothing she says in that annoying shouting rings true. 

And although Donald Trump was not my first choice in the nomination process, he is now the only choice that conservatives need to consider. Anyone else is a vote down the dumper.
