Comey Faces the Music: Ex-FBI Boss Arraigned on Lies and Obstruction Charges

In a courtroom drama that's been brewing for years, former FBI Director James Comey is stepping into the federal dock Wednesday morning, indicted for allegedly lying his way through a congressional probe and stonewalling investigators digging into the Russia hoax mess. 

Comey has said he is innocent, in spite of the words he said under oath that turned out to be false.

The once-mighty G-man turned author, 'Nature Boy,' and Trump critic, is due for his initial appearance at 10 a.m. Eastern in the Albert V. Bryan United States Courthouse, smack in the Eastern District of Virginia. Comey's wife, Patrice, and daughter Maurene were already spotted queuing up outside the building early Wednesday, a poignant snapshot of family steeling for the storm. 

Presiding over the spectacle is District Judge Michael S. Nachmanoff.

The hammer dropped in September when a federal grand jury slapped Comey with two counts: false statements in the legislative branch's wheelhouse and straight-up obstruction of a congressional proceeding.

The indictment paints Comey as the roadblock in a probe over leaking classified intel, breaching 18 USC 1505 like it was yesterday's news.

Prosecutors claim Comey fibbed big-time when he swore under oath that he never greenlit an FBI underling to play anonymous leaker. Per the paperwork, that was a whopper. Fox News Digital broke the story back in July that Comey was in the FBI's crosshairs for a criminal probe. The heat was all about whether he perjured himself during that September 30, 2020, Hill testimony on his stewardship of the FBI's original Trump-Russia witch hunt, internally dubbed "Crossfire Hurricane."

"No one is above the law," Attorney General Pam Bondi fired off on X post-indictment, underscoring that it "reflects this Department of Justice’s commitment to holding those who abuse positions of power accountable for misleading the American people. We will follow the facts in this case."

Current FBI Director Kash Patel had this to say: "previous corrupt leadership and their enablers weaponized federal law enforcement, damaging once proud institutions and severely eroding public trust."

"Every day, we continue the fight to earn that trust back, and under my leadership, this FBI will confront the problem head-on," Patel added. "Nowhere was this politicization of law enforcement more blatant than during the Russiagate hoax, a disgraceful chapter in history we continue to investigate and expose."

Patel went on: "Everyone, especially those in positions of power, will be held to account – no matter their perch."

Comey, ever the showman, responded with an Instagram video after the cuffs came calling, brushing off the charges like yesterday's briefing.

"My family and I have known for years that there are costs to standing up to Donald Trump, but we couldn't imagine ourselves living any other way," he said. "We will not live on our knees, and you shouldn't either. Somebody that I love dearly recently said that fear is the tool of a tyrant, and she's right."

"But I'm not afraid," Comey added.

"My heart is broken for the Department of Justice, but I have great confidence in the federal judicial system and I am innocent, so let’s have a trial and keep the faith," Comey said. By federal clock, prosecutors had until Tuesday to drop the charges, five years from the alleged lies.

The Eastern District of Virginia's U.S. Attorney’s Office is steering the ship on this one. Flashback: The FBI kicked off its Trump-Russia obsession in July 2016 under the "Crossfire Hurricane" banner.

Trump fired Comey in May 2017, sparking the inevitable backlash.

Enter Robert Mueller days later as special counsel to inherit the FBI's fever dream probe.After a two-year taxpayer-funded odyssey, Mueller's March 2019 finale? Zilch on criminal collusion between Team Trump and Moscow meddlers in '16.

Then John Durham was assigned as special counsel to autopsy the "Crossfire Hurricane" origins. The FBI blew off a neon-red flag that they were the marks in a Clinton-orchestrated ploy to twist law enforcement for an electoral edge pre-2016.

"The aforementioned facts reflect a rather startling and inexplicable failure to adequately consider and incorporate the Clinton Plan intelligence into the FBI's investigative decision-making in the Crossfire Hurricane investigation," Durham’s report states.

"Indeed, had the FBI opened the Crossfire Hurricane investigation as an assessment and, in turn, gathered and analyzed data in concert with the information from the Clinton Plan intelligence, it is likely that the information received would have been examined, at a minimum, with a more critical eye," the report continued.

Durham hammered home: The FBI "failed to act on what should have been, when combined with other incontrovertible facts, a clear warning sign that the FBI might then be the target of an effort to manipulate or influence the law enforcement process for political purposes during the 2016 presidential election."

Years in the making, Comey's day in court feels like poetic justice; a reckoning for the Russia hoax architects who bet the house on taking down Trump, only to watch the foundations crack.

AG Barr slams Mueller, calls Steele dossier very troubling and more

Attorney General Bill Barr spoke with CBS's Catherine Herridge on Thursday about the FBI's use of the Steele dossier in the investigation into the Trump campaign. The most troubling aspect is the fact that it could have contained Russian disinformation. [And the Democrats accuse Republicans of colluding with Russia!]

"Based on the evidence that you have seen," Herridge began, "did senior FBI officials conspire to throw out the national security adviser?"

“Well, as I said, this is a particular episode,” Barr replied. “And it has some troubling features to it, as we’ve discussed. But I think, you know, that’s a question that really has to wait an analysis of all the different episodes that occurred through the summer of 2016 and the first several months of President Trump’s administration.”

In the interview, Herridge mentioned the Steele dossier and how the footnotes suggested that it was "the product of Russian disinformation."

“And there were multiple warnings to the FBI at that time, yet they continued to use that. How do you explain that?” Herridge asked Barr.

“I think that’s one of the most troubling aspects of this whole thing,” Barr said. “And, in fact, I said it in testimony on the Hill, I can’t remember if it was my confirmation, that I said I was very concerned about the possibility that that dossier and Steele’s activities were used as a vector for the Russians to inject disinformation into the political campaign.”

“I think that is something that Robert Mueller was responsible for looking at under his charter, which is the potential of Russian influence,” Barr continued. “But I think it was ignored and there was mounting indications that this could very well have been happening and no one really stopped to look at it.”

It was ignored because Trump beat Clinton.

Later in the interview Barr was asked about the DOJ's decision to drop the charges against former national security adviser and former three-star General Michael Flynn. He explained that the department acted out of a sense of justice and "undid what was an injustice," and added, "it's not gonna be the end of it."

Herridge asked him to elaborate on his statement that it was “not gonna be the end of it,” and he responded, “I said we’re gonna get to the bottom of what happened.”

Herridge asked about the U.S. Attorney John Durham's current criminal investigation into the roots of the Russia investigation. Barr said,  “Well, as you know, I’m not gonna predict the outcome. But I said that we’re certainly — there probably will be a report as a byproduct of his work. But we also are seeing if there are people who violated the law and should be brought to justice. And that’s what we have our eye on.”

Finally, Barr was asked whether those involved in the Flynn case, a clear miscarriage of justice, he responded,  “I don’t wanna get into particular individuals.”

Hopefully the nation will see real justice carried out and those responsible in the FBI and elsewhere, will be held accountable. But don't hold your breath.

Mueller key witness indicted on sex trafficking, child porn charges

George Aref Nader, a 60-year-old "wealthy Lebanese-American businessman and Middle East expert," was indicted "on charges of importing child pornography and traveling with a minor to engage in illegal sexual activity," Politico reported.

Nader was a key witness in former special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation has been indicted on child pornography and sex trafficking charges, according to a three-count indictment unsealed on Friday in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

According to The Hill, Nader sat "for multiple interviews, including one that was conducted under a 'proffer agreement', — a potential signal that he believed he could be charged with crimes and spoke to prosecutors on the condition his statements wouldn’t be used against him."

Nader was arrested in January 2018 after arriving in the U.S. from Dubai. Federal law enforcement officials searched three iPhones they obtained with a search warrant, and allegedly found child porn.

Politico added that "prosecutors filed a criminal complaint against Nader over the images in April 2018 but kept the charges under seal and never told his attorneys about them even as he continued to cooperate with Mueller’s probe, lawyers said."

Nader was convicted on a child pornography charge in Virginia and served 6 months in prison in 1991. He faced "a similar charge in Washington, D.C. in 1985, but the case was dismissed due to an invalid search warrant, CNBC reported.

In March 2018, the Associated Press reported that "Nader was convicted by Prague’s Municipal Court of 10 cases of sexually abusing minors and sentenced to a one-year prison term in May 2003."

Court spokeswoman Marketa Puci told the Associated Press that the crimes reportedly happened between 1999 and 2002 and that he was convicted of "moral corruption of minors, sexual abuse and impairing morals."

Nader has served as an unofficial liaison between Capitol Hill politicians and the UAE and Saudi Arabia. He also was a lobbyist for the private security firm Blackwater. He is also an adviser to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the UAE.

It was in January 2018 when former special counsel Robert Mueller's investigators questioned him in connection to suspicions that the UAE had been involved with President Trump's 2016 campaign.

But Nader didn't just work on the GOP side of the aisle, in 1993 to 2001, he tried unsuccessfully to broker an Israeli-Syrian peace agreement [which will evidently only happen when the Jews leave Israel to the Muslims and the Muslims kill every Jew on Earth]. He also helped to free the American hostages in Lebanon after the Iran–Contra affair. So Nader is happy to work for money, regardless of who pays him.

POTUS plans a tariff on Mexico to encourage their help with stopping illegal aliens

President Trump announced on Thursday that he plans to place a tariff on all Mexican goods until they help us with the illegal immigration crisis by curbing the flow of illegals coming here.

In a series of tweets, [naturally] the president revealed the “big league” [not bigly] announcement on immigration that he teased about Thursday morning:

“On June 10th, the United States will impose a 5% Tariff on all goods coming into our Country from Mexico, until such time as illegal migrants coming through Mexico, and into our Country, STOP. The Tariff will gradually increase util the Illegal Immigration problem is remedied, at which time Tariffs will be removed. Details from the White House to follow.”

Not once in the above tweet, and to his credit, did President Trump resort to a loud, perhaps misused, exclamation mark.

The White House followed up the president’s tweets with an official presidential statement announcing the decision and they too did not resort to the often overused exclamation mark.

“Should Mexico choose not to cooperate on reducing unlawful migration, the sustained imposition of Tariffs will produce a massive return of jobs back to American cities and towns,” the president stated, arguing that Mexico has passively allowed a mass influx of illegal immigrants continue to the U.S., despite their ability to stop them.

The President is invoking executive authority under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act to impose the tariffs. This follows the national emergency declaration he made in February to help gather funding for the southern border wall.

Trump has previously accused Mexico of failing to properly enforce immigration laws. This created some of the highest levels of illegal immigration to the U.S. in a decade as the Democrats have tried to tie his hands to prevent the building of a wall, their refusal to provide funds for more accommodations for those who enter the United States, and increasing the border security force.

This year, he has started returning asylum-seekers back to Mexico to wait there while their cases are adjudicated, which has become known as the “Remain in Mexico” policy.

If Mexico fails to adequately curb illegal immigration according to the president’s judgment, the 5% tariff will be increased by five percentage points each month, hitting a maximum of 25% in October. Then he plans to nuke Mexico City if they continue to refuse to comply. 

Just kidding.

“If Mexico fails to act, Tariffs will remain at the high level, and companies located in Mexico may start moving back to the United States to make their products and goods. Companies that relocate to the United States will not pay the Tariffs or be affected in any way,” Trump said. This will, of course, significantly raise the prices of goods and will unintentionally hurt the American consumer. But hopefully it will be a temporary measure.

Acting Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Kevin McAleenan told reporters in a briefing call Thursday evening that the administration believes there are tangible things Mexico can do to help deter migrants, but waterboarding them is not an option.

McAleenan pointed out three specific points: boosting operational border security on Mexico’s border with Guatemala, attacking transnational smuggling operations, and working with the U.S. on asylum laws.

Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney [aka Michael Mulvaney] revealed on the call that congressional Republicans were briefed on the plan before it was announced and were largely supportive except for the usual suspects.

Mulvaney also downplayed the idea that placing a universal tariff on Mexico could threaten the president’s negotiated trade deal with Mexico and Canada, calling the immigration-based tariff “separate” from the USMCA.

We shall see what happens at this point, but Robert Mueller was still unavailable for comment but Robert De Niro was and said that he "still would like to punch Trump in the f***ing mouth."

Federal judge orders portions of Mueller report unredacted & made public

U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan has ordered portions of the special counsel Robert Mueller’s report to be unredacted and made public in the criminal case against former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

Sullivan issued the limited order on Thursday and it pertains to portions of the report relating to Flynn are redacted and would be made public under the order.

This is the first time a federal judge has ordered the Justice Department to make public portions of a report the agency had kept secret.

After almost two years, Mueller  finally concluded his investigation in March. Attorney General William P. Barr released a redacted version of Mueller’s report in April but the Democrats want the report to be totally unredacted, which is against the law. Several members of the House Judicial Committee, led by Jerry "Eyebrows" Nadler, want the report fully unredacted but that is not going to happen and is just a distraction by his party.

Gen. Flynn is awaiting sentence after admitting to lying to the FBI about his conversations with the Russian ambassador to the United States.

Chelsea Handler proud of her feelings for Mueller, proud of her abortion at 16

"Please, please go away, Miss"

In an interview with the rag, The New York Times, in 2011, Chelsea Handler, 44, revealed that she had an abortion when she was 16, saying she had the procedure "because that's what I should have done. Otherwise I would now have a 20-yea old kid. Anyway, those are things that people shouldn't be dishonest about."

So like former President Obama's thoughts on abortions where his daughters were concerned, Handler didn't want to be "punished" with a child.

Evidently, Handler uses abortions for birth control. In a 2016 interview with Playboy magazine, Handler revealed that she had a second abortion when she was 16 in addition to the one she talked about with The New York Times.

Now she may be willing to kill another unwanted child, this time sired by Robert Mueller if she can convince him to have sex with her. 

She didn't say that, but she made it clear that she's not at all "embarrassed" by her sexual attraction to Mueller.

“I’m not embarrassed by my feelings for Robert Mueller,” Handler wrote in her new book, "Life Will Be the Death of Me" (via Page Six). “I am legitimately attracted to him and everything he stands for ... I suspect there will be a lot of people naming their baby boys Bob after this whole s–tshow is over.”

“Through the months of thick fog and despair after the election, he was the one bright spot,” her explicit book continued. “I had finally found the first Republican I could see myself being penetrated by.”

Until the end of the probe, one suspects.

Handler's book was wrapped up before Mueller released the results of his investigation, which didn't find any evidence of collusion with Russia.

The comedian also detailed the difficulties of her love life outside of the political arena, admitting it's likely her own fault that she's single, but not because she's a human bag of garbage.

“I’ll hook up with younger guys who are absolute and utter messes. These relationships are based solely on their looks and their bodies," she admits in the book. "It’s completely reckless behavior," [as well as immoral and foolish.]

Handler said her habit of hooking up with younger men has cost of upwards of tens of thousands of dollars, explaining, “I usually upend their lives in some irreparable way ... Like a couple guys got fired who worked at resorts where I was a guest. I just want to do anything that will make them feel better, so I usually just give them money" [after she services them.]

She's just soooo woke.

MUELLER REPORT SUMMARY RELEASED: Trump is doing his happy dance

Attorney General William Barr has finally released the "principal conclusions" of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's completed Russia probe in a four-page letter to Capitol Hill lawmakers.

The letter stated definitively that Mueller did not establish evidence that Trump's team had conspired with Russia nor coordinated with Russia.

"The special counsel's investigation did not find that the Trump campaign or anyone associated with it conspired or coordinated with Russia in its effort" to interfere with the 2016 presidential election, according to Mueller's report.

Barr said Mueller's team had "thoroughly" investigated allegations that Trump's team sought to conspire with Russians or obstruct investigators. The probe employed about 40 FBI agents, executing hundreds of search warrants, 19 lawyers, mostly Democrats, and the probe interviewed about 500 witnesses.

Barr's disclosure was a climax following the 22-month investigation that ensnared six former Trump advisers and associates -- but resulted in no indictments related to collusion with Russia.

The Democrats, some of whom beat their dogs, punched their boyfriends or partook in bouts of trichotillomania, vowed that this will not be the end of it. Just because they praised Mueller and his unwavering commitment to the truth when the probe into Russian collusion with the Trump campaign began, is no reason to continue believing in things they said in the past.

On Sunday Democrats vowed to press on with other investigations, and members of both parties continued to push for the public release of as much of the Mueller report as possible, unlike the left's refusal to demand transparency in the Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama scandals.

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, said Sunday that he believed there remained “significant evidence of collusion” linking the Russian government with President Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, and if any is found, he will personally call for the president's execution.

Schiff said Democrats might subpoena Mueller, Barr and Putin if the full report is not released.

House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY), speaking to "Fox News Sunday," insisted, "So we know a lot of things and maybe it’s not indictable, but we know there was collusion. The question is the degree." [Never trust politicians and liberals, in general, who begin their sentences with 'so.']

Democrat congressional leaders scrambled to respond to the end of the Mueller probe this weekend, holding an emergency conference call and discussing potential next steps with Roseanne Barr [no relation to Bill] and Chelsea Handler.



"It's the end of the beginning but it's not the beginning of the end," Delaware Sen. Chris Coons (D) said, echoing his party's strategy of moving forward on to other investigations, including probes into Trump's financial dealings, his sex life, his children and their financial dealings and sex lives, and whether he ever held hands with Vladimir Putin.

 "Once we get the principal conclusions of the report," Coons added later, "I think it's entirely possible that that will be a good day for the president and his core supporters."

Along those lines, Nadler said that Democrats would continue their efforts to find out anything they can that can affect the outcome of the 2020 election at the expense of taxpayer money. In other words, we have a president and a party trying to find a crime rather than a crime and trying to find the perpetrator.

"The job of Congress is much broader than the job of the special counsel," Nadler said. "The special counsel is looking and can only look for crimes. We have to protect the rule of law, we have to look for abuses of power, we have to look for obstructions of justice, we have to look for corruption in the exercise of power which may not be crimes."

If you have to look for it, the crime is probably not there, but the election is and that's the real point, isn't it?

A former senior law enforcement official told Fox News that Democrats would lack key investigative powers that Mueller had, including the ability to convene grand juries -- and that Nadler's path amounted to trying to criminalize meetings with foreign actors that the special counsel apparently determined were simply not criminal.

“With all the talk of the Democrats intensifying their House investigations," the former official said, it was important to note that "unlike Special Counsel Mueller, Congress and the [DOJ Inspector General] cannot convene grand juries and initiate prosecutions. If Mueller couldn't find collusion or conspiracy with every investigative tool, what do the Democrats expect to accomplish?"

Other than trying to undermine the election.

Some conservatives, meanwhile, say that Democrats should come under increased scrutiny for their contacts with foreign nationals.

Hillary Clinton's campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) hired the firm Fusion GPS, which employed British ex-spy Christopher Steele to produce an anti-Trump dossier that the FBI used to justify the surveillance of a top Trump aide and kickstart the Russia probe.

 This week, text messages exclusively obtained by Fox News revealed that the DOJ apparently raised "repeated" concerns that Steele, whose blatant anti-Trump views are now widely known, was politically biased.

The Trump aide, Carter Page, has not been charged with any wrongdoing, although the FBI initially alleged he had conspired with Russians.

On Sunday, Ohio GOP Rep. Jim Jordan said Sunday that if the Mueller report is disclosed publicly, then all documents relating to it should also be published -- including the complete Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant application to monitor Page.

That ought to make Hillary a bit nervous.

To his credit, President Trump stayed off of Twitter over the weekend until today when he tweeted: "Have a great day," and "Make America Great Again!"

This angered the liberal press who was hoping he'd say something regrettable.

BuzzardFeed News reporter clueless over Mueller's rebuke

BuzzFeed News investigative reporter [LOL] Anthony Cormier wouldn't explain why his low-credibility colleague, Jason Leopold, claimed to have seen documents which proved President Trump ordered his former attorney Michael Cohen to lie to Congress -- contradicting Cormier's insistence that he had not personally seen the documents.

Code for journalists: If your mother says she loves you, check it out.

"We can't get into, like, the details there," Cormier, like, sitting next to BuzzFeed News Editor-in-Chief Ben Smith, told CNN's "Reliable Sources" host and leftist Brian Stelter.

Leopold did not appear for the interview, which occasionally became tense as Stelter openly criticized BuzzFeed's journalistic practices--something that is normally out of character for the bald-headed stooge of the left.

Cormier and Leopold wrote a fake bombshell report on Thursday, citing two invisible law enforcement officials who said Cohen acknowledged to Special Counsel Mueller’s office that Trump told him to lie to Congress about the potential real-estate deal in Russia, and claim the negotiations ended months before they did so as to conceal Trump’s involvement.

The article prompted Democrats to call for Trump's impeachment and subsequent beheading if it turned out to be true.

The article said that Cohen’s testimony “marks a significant new frontier: It is the first known example of Trump explicitly telling a subordinate to lie directly about his own dealings with Russia.”

But Mueller issued his first public statement in more than a year to repudiate the BuzzFeed report the next day. The Washington Post, a fake news source since 1877, has since reported that Mueller intended his rare denial to mean that the story was "almost entirely incorrect," and that the special counsel's office immediately "reviewed evidence to determine if there were any documents or witness interviews like those described, reaching out to those they thought might have a stake in the case. They found none."

In an interview on Friday, Cormier told the Comedy News Network [CNN], “No, I’ve not seen it personally,” when asked if he had seen the documents mentioned in the story -- including "internal company emails, text messages, and a cache of other documents" -- that purportedly showed Trump told Cohen to lie.

Evidently, his mother told him she loves him.

Cormier only claimed the two sources he cited were “fully, 100 percent read-in to that aspect of the special counsel’s investigation.” Yadda, yadda.

However, Leopold, in a separate interview with Morons Speaking Nothing But Communism (MSNBC), he remarked that, "I don’t think we’ve said we haven’t seen [the documents]" and clarified, "I’ll say we’ve seen documents and been briefed."

Leopold has since suggested that what he meant to say was that he has seen the documents, but that Cormier had not, telling Mediaite, "Yes. Anthony said he had not personally seen the documents.”

BuzzardFeed has not identified the documents, and has said only that it stands by its reporting, without offering additional details.

"As we’ve re-confirmed our reporting, we’ve seen no indication that any specific aspect of our story is inaccurate. We remain confident in what we’ve reported, and will share more as we are able," BuzzardFeed said in a statement.

Smith and Cormier [not to be confused with an old typewriter company] also acknowledged they were not aware of the precise language Trump would have used in instructing Cohen to lie, as they reported.

"We don't know. We're trying to get the exact language that was used," Cormier said. He asserted when asked if his sources were wrong or mistaken: "They're not. They're not. I'm confident."

"We are eager to understand which characterizations Mueller is talking about there, and obviously we take that incredibly seriously,” Smith added, tongue-in-cheek.

Cormier also suggested he should not be fired [again] for authoring the discredited report, because he has worked in the news industry for more than 20 years and built up substantial "skills" that help him divine accurate information from misleading sources. In fact, he can type 30 words a minute when pressed.

Missing Flynn document in Mueller file could be a problem in sentencing

A key document from Special Counsel Robert Mueller's latest filing regarding the [former national security adviser] Michael Flynn case could be a problem at Tuesday's scheduled sentencing hearing.

Special counsel has been ordered to turn over all government documents and "memoranda" related to Flynn's questioning by the FBI after his attorneys claimed the agency had discouraged him form having a lawyer present when he was interviewed on January 24, 2017 at the White House. It appears that U.S. District Judge Emmett G. Sullivan is rather miffed over the missing document.

Mueller met Sullivan’s Friday afternoon deadline and provided documents, some of which were heavily redacted.

Mueller's team defended the way the FBI handled the interview with Flynn and claimed that nothing about how it was conducted "caused the defendant to make false statements to the FBI." How they could get into Flynn's mind and know that was the case had not been revealed, but evidently, the FBI has some scary stuff going and can read minds.

The filing in question, known as a "302", [to memorialize interviews] detailed the July 19, 2017 interview with Peter Strzok, the paramour of Lisa Page.

Strzok, who was in the throes of an extra-marital affair with a lawyer for the FBI, Lisa Page (whose affair with Strzok was also extra-marital) was one of two agents performing the interview. It was revealed that Strzok and his paramour were texting each other over their hatred for Trump and Strzok wanted to do something to stop him. Since Flynn worked for Trump, there was no love lost between Strzok and Flynn, in which case the former could direct all his love to Page. Anyway, Flynn described the meeting in the document filed Aug. 22, 2017.

If this sounds confusing, imagine having to go through life with a name that's spelled "Strzok" but pronounced "Schmuck."

But not included in the filing was an original 302 from the period of the January 2017 Flynn interview.

Anyway, we shall see tomorrow whether Flynn is handed down a sentence, walks away a free man, or has a sentencing delay.

Shoe on other foot in Mueller investigation over documents

The late Chubby Checker would be proud to see that U.S. District Court Judge Emmet G. Sullivan has put a real twist in the special counsel investigation ordering Robert Mueller to hand over all secret documents related to former Army Lt. General and National Security Adviser Michael Flynn. [For you young folks, Chubby Checker sang "Let's Twist Again" many years ago--thus my corny joke.]

It was recently claimed by Flynn's lawyers that the FBI urged [aka: 'conned'] Flynn to not bring a lawyer with him to an interview with their agents at the White House in January 2017. It was presented more as a casual conversation in Flynn's mind.

He has since pleaded guilty to one count of lying to prosecutors and his sentencing is to be on Tuesday.

Judge Sullivan ordered Mueller to turn over all documents and "memoranda" related to Flynn's questioning by 3 p.m. [or 1500 hrs]  Friday.

Sullivan is the same judge who overturned a 2008 Sen. Ted Stevens conviction after government misconduct was revealed.

Former disgraced FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe arranged the White House interview with Flynn, and suggested he not have a lawyer present. "I explained that I thought the quickest way to get this done was to have a conversation between [Flynn] and the agents only," McCabe wrote, according to newly filed court documents.

"I further stated that if LTG Flynn wished to include anyone else in the meeting, like the White House counsel for instance, that I would need to involve the Department of Justice. [Flynn] stated that this would not be necessary and agreed to meet with the agents without any additional participants."

In other words, McCabe tried to make the interview seem casual.

FBI officials also decided not to warn Flynn that there he could face perjury charges if he made false statements during what appeared to be an informal interview, and while this might not be illegal, it sucks to high heaven.

In his ruling, Judge Sullivan also ordered Flynn's team "to turn over the documents backing up its assertions. The judge could determine why the FBI apparently took a significantly more aggressive tack in handling the Flynn interview than it did during other similar matters, including the agency's sit-downs with Hillary Clinton and ex-Trump adviser George Papadopoulos," Fox News reported.

Mueller's team may have had guilty consciences. They recommended no jail time for making false statements to the FBI because he provided "substantial assistance" to the Mueller investigation. The filing by attorney Brandon L. Van Grack, who works for Mueller's team states:

The defendant deserves credit for accepting responsibility in a timely fashion and substantially assisting the government. As described in the Addendum, shortly after the SCO reached out to the defendant to seek his cooperation, the defendant accepted responsibility for his unlawful conduct and began cooperating with the government. 

"Given the defendant’s substantial assistance and other considerations set forth below, a sentence at the low end of the guideline range — including a sentence that does not impose a term of incarceration — is appropriate and warranted." 

The filing says that Flynn sat for 19 interviews with the special counsel and the Department of Justice during the investigation into whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russia during the 2016 presidential election.

It turns out nothing, so far, has been found to implicate the president in the search of a crime. Maybe they will eventually get him on jaywalking.

Dem. Kamala Harris may lose her seat on Senate Judiciary Committee

The GOP is considering reducing the size of the 21-member Senate Judiciary Committee as they prepare for the next Congress.

If this should happen, Sen. Kamala "The Interrupter" Harris, (D-Calif.), a possible candidate for the 2020 presidential campaign, could be booted from the panel, according to a hopeful report.

This is due to the fact that she is a first-term senator and the most junior and obnoxious member. She would be the first to go, but whether or not she goes quietly remains to be seen.

Some butt-kissing Democrats are reportedly scrambling to find a way to keep Harris on the committee, the report said. The ideas include negotiating with Republicans -- who maintained control of the chamber after this month's midterm elections -- to keep the committee at 21 members, or convincing a more senior Democrat to step aside. If the Republicans agree, then they deserve what they get and just watch what happens in 2020 to the GOP.

Although she has been a U.S. senator for less than two years, Harris – a former state attorney general in California – drew attention during the summer for her questioning of Brett Kavanaugh during his Supreme Court confirmation hearings. She could not have been more infuriating as she would ask a question then not allow Kavanaugh to answer it.

Harris and Kavanaugh had a heated exchange over whether he discussed the Russia investigation being conducted by Special Counsel Robert Mueller with anyone at a law firm associated with President Trump’s personal lawyer. It was a trick question designed to make him look guilty, rather than a question in pursuit of the truth as to whether he perpetrated sexual misconduct when he was a teenager.

“I think you’re thinking of someone and you don’t want to tell us,” Harris said as if she was a mindreader.

In September, the Washington Post gave the annoying senator a rating of Four Pinocchios, because she selectively edited a video of Kavanaugh comments about abortion-inducing drugs, in a bid to argue that he was against birth control.

Harris told Senate Minority Leader Chuck "Nostril Caves" Schumer, (D-N.Y.), that she wants to keep her Judiciary spot, her spokeswoman Lily Adams told the Post. It keeps her in the spotlight when the committee goes on TV.

Her supporters say that Harris, 54 – by being half Jamaican-American and half Tamil Indian – helps Democrats underscore that the GOP side of the committee includes only white males.

“Not only would it be unconscionable to remove the only African-American woman from the committee, but Sen. Harris also is the most skilled questioner on the entire panel,” Brian Fallon, executive director of Demand Justice, a group tries to get liberal judges appointed, told the Post.

She is not actually the most skilled, if she were, she wouldn't need to ask trick questions. She is the most obnoxious, sneering and sneaky person on the committee.

But Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., is said to be considering Sen.-elect Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., for a Judiciary seat, the Post reported. 

According to the Post, serious discussions about the makeup of the committee will begin sometime after Tuesday’s Senate run-off election in Mississippi.

BREAKING: Trump fires Sessions

It comes as no surprise that President Trump hasn't been happy with Attorney General Jeff Sessions, but it still comes as a bit of a shock that he would fire him just hours after the midterm elections.

And he made the announcement the way he loves best: he did it on Twitter:

"We are pleased to announce that Matthew G. Whitaker, Chief of Staff to Attorney General Jeff Sessions at the Department of Justice, will become our new Acting Attorney General of the United States. He will serve our country well. ..."

Sessions issued his own resignation letter in which he admitted that he was resigning at the president's request. He explained in the letter that "we have restored and upheld the rule of law--a glorious tradition that each of us has a responsibility to safeguard. We have operated with integrity and have lawfully and aggressively advanced the policy agenda of this administration."

Whitaker has previously been quite critical of the Mueller investigation and now that Sessions is gone, Rod Rosenstein will no longer be in an oversight position over the Mueller investigation.

When Sessions had recused himself from the Mueller investigation it negatively impacted on the president's relationship with him and it seemed that Sessions' firing would eventually be a sure thing based on Trump's history of how he dealt with those who oppose him.

For certain, Sessions was no Eric Holder. He ran the DOJ honestly and did his duty, not as a "Wingman" for the president as Holder said he was to Obama, but as an honest chief law enforcement officer of the United States.

It's unknown whether Whitaker will do anything to impede or end the Mueller investigation, only time will tell as it seems to be coming to a conclusion anyway.

We also need to wait and see who Trump will select to replace Sessions, but with the new Senate majority, it will be fairly easy to do so.
