New evidence damning to Obama in phony Russiagate scandal

Fresh evidence unsealed in the Michael Flynn court battle confirms-not implies-that former President Barack Hussein Obama played a central role in moving forward the whole fake Russiagate "scandal" that rocked the entire country.

Handwritten notes by the disgraced former FBI agent Peter Strzok show that Obama and his comical side-kick, Joe Biden who played along, encouraged the FBI and Department of Justice to investigate Flynn, in spite of their knowledge told to them by the FBI that Flynn's actions "appear legit."

Of course, we should not be too hard with Biden as it's quite possible his mental status is similar to what it is today--lacking the analytical capacity to distinguish his derriere from his elbow.

Strzok notes the document of then FBI chief James "Lordy" Comey's account, which gives more detail of the January 5, 22017 meeting that included Obama, Biden, Comey, Susan Rice and Sally Yates. [Rice was then National Security Adviser and Yates was then Deputy Attorney General.]

On learning that the FBI was set to close its investigation into Flynn after finding no evidence of wrongdoing, Obama and Biden suggested finding ways to keep it open, with Biden bringing up the (dead letter) Logan Act, because he graduated at the bottom third of his law school and didn't realize how preposterous his idea was at the time.

The notes show Obama ordering the continued investigation be kept secret from the incoming Trump administration.  “Make sure you look at things and have the right people on it,” Obama ordered.

After Trump entered the White House, Comey and Yates were able to take out Flynn, thus sidelining White House oversight of the

In the new administration, holdovers Comey and Yates did manage to take out Flynn, sidelining any effective White House oversight of the unprincipled Russiagate probe — and thus allowing it to grow like fungus.

Biden lied to ABC last month, “I know nothing about those moves to investigate Michael Flynn.” Still, it's possible he forgot as he has reached the point where he cannot identify his wife from his sister without assistance.

Serious-looking US Attorney John Durham is reviewing the origins of the Russiagate probe for signs of impropriety and unlawfulness. The report will hopefully be released to the public before the election in November.

Shoe on other foot in Mueller investigation over documents

The late Chubby Checker would be proud to see that U.S. District Court Judge Emmet G. Sullivan has put a real twist in the special counsel investigation ordering Robert Mueller to hand over all secret documents related to former Army Lt. General and National Security Adviser Michael Flynn. [For you young folks, Chubby Checker sang "Let's Twist Again" many years ago--thus my corny joke.]

It was recently claimed by Flynn's lawyers that the FBI urged [aka: 'conned'] Flynn to not bring a lawyer with him to an interview with their agents at the White House in January 2017. It was presented more as a casual conversation in Flynn's mind.

He has since pleaded guilty to one count of lying to prosecutors and his sentencing is to be on Tuesday.

Judge Sullivan ordered Mueller to turn over all documents and "memoranda" related to Flynn's questioning by 3 p.m. [or 1500 hrs]  Friday.

Sullivan is the same judge who overturned a 2008 Sen. Ted Stevens conviction after government misconduct was revealed.

Former disgraced FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe arranged the White House interview with Flynn, and suggested he not have a lawyer present. "I explained that I thought the quickest way to get this done was to have a conversation between [Flynn] and the agents only," McCabe wrote, according to newly filed court documents.

"I further stated that if LTG Flynn wished to include anyone else in the meeting, like the White House counsel for instance, that I would need to involve the Department of Justice. [Flynn] stated that this would not be necessary and agreed to meet with the agents without any additional participants."

In other words, McCabe tried to make the interview seem casual.

FBI officials also decided not to warn Flynn that there he could face perjury charges if he made false statements during what appeared to be an informal interview, and while this might not be illegal, it sucks to high heaven.

In his ruling, Judge Sullivan also ordered Flynn's team "to turn over the documents backing up its assertions. The judge could determine why the FBI apparently took a significantly more aggressive tack in handling the Flynn interview than it did during other similar matters, including the agency's sit-downs with Hillary Clinton and ex-Trump adviser George Papadopoulos," Fox News reported.

Mueller's team may have had guilty consciences. They recommended no jail time for making false statements to the FBI because he provided "substantial assistance" to the Mueller investigation. The filing by attorney Brandon L. Van Grack, who works for Mueller's team states:
The defendant deserves credit for accepting responsibility in a timely fashion and substantially assisting the government. As described in the Addendum, shortly after the SCO reached out to the defendant to seek his cooperation, the defendant accepted responsibility for his unlawful conduct and began cooperating with the government.
"Given the defendant’s substantial assistance and other considerations set forth below, a sentence at the low end of the guideline range — including a sentence that does not impose a term of incarceration — is appropriate and warranted."
The filing says that Flynn sat for 19 interviews with the special counsel and the Department of Justice during the investigation into whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russia during the 2016 presidential election.
shoes on the other foot

It turns out nothing, so far, has been found to implicate the president in the search of a crime. Maybe they will eventually get him on jaywalking.

President holds presser at White House, big league

President Trump held a presser at the White House and said that he has "inherited a mess, a mess," adding that jobs are leaving the country, "going to Mexica and other places," but assures the American people that he will take care of it.

As usual, he also attacked the media calling them "dishonest," but hopes that the relationship will change.

He said that he also inherited ISIS and it has "spread like cancer," and that it was another mess. He vows to rebuild the military and hopes we will never have to use it, but "our country will never have had the military, like the military we will have." He explained that the military equipment is old and "depleted."

Mr. Trump said that he is keeping his campaign promises to the American people even though some appear to be surprised.

He then spoke again about how he received 306 electoral votes and how it was the biggest electoral college win since Ronald Reagan.

He said that he will be in Melbourne, Florida on Saturday and "I heard the crowds will be massive, massive."

Regulations will be dealt with, he said. As he vowed, when any new regulation is put in place, two old regulations will be eliminated.

Overall, Mr. Trump trumpeted his accomplishments including law enforcement, jobs and the problems with illicit drugs. He also discussed how he is in the process of building the promised wall and how it's going to be "a great wall," and that the prices will come down. It will not be a "nonexistent" wall, or a wall that is "a joke."

He pointed out how the court system is not making it easy for his administration to keep the country safe against Islamic terrorism. He alluded to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and how their rulings have been overturned "in record numbers."

He plans to "drain the swamp" by imposing the 5-year lobbying ban and eliminate foreign lobbyists altogether.

He will eliminate the "bleeding of jobs away from out country" and said that jobs have already started to surge. Ford and Chrysler will be investing millions of dollars in the country.

In other words, nothing new was discussed except for the fact that he will be issuing a new executive order regarding the immigration ban.

Then the press questioned the president.

Regarding Michael Flynn, Trump said he asked for his resignation and he respectfully gave it. He called the reporting about it was "fake news."

POTUS, GOP lawmakers check for "illegal" leaks

Now that Michael Flynn has resigned as national security adviser after politically fatal talks with a Russian diplomat, President Trump and GOP allies are looking at the possibility of "illegal" leaks in those discussions.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) wants the FBI to get involved and conduct an assessment of recent media leaks.

Hillary Clinton has yet to tweet to any possible anonymous leaker not to worry--it's only the FBI, after all.

Mr. Trump accepted Flynn's resignation Monday night and tweeted Tuesday morning: "The real story here is why are there so many illegal leaks coming out of Washington? Will these leaks be happening as I deal on N. Korea etc?"

He failed to add a tag-word such as: "Angry!" or "Sad!" He also didn't reveal to whom the question was addressed.

Confused!

Flynn was asked by Fox News Tuesday morning whether the leaks were targeted, coordinated and possibly a violation of the law, and he responded: "Yes, yes and yes."

Other recent leaks have revealed details from calls between President Trump and the leaders from Australia and Mexico as well as from the intelligence community investigation into Russian interference in the U.S. presidential campaign.

Whoever is leaking this sensitive information, need to be indicted and tried.

Nunes is going to "be asking the FBI to do an assessment of this to tell us what's going on here because we cannot continue to have these leaks as a government."

Ron Johnson (R-Wisc.) Senate Homeland Security Committee Chairman said that "somebody in the nebulous intelligence community" would have had access to the Flynn discussions.

"Who tapped the phones, who was listening to it, who leaked it? I think those are legitimate questions to ask," Johnson told Fox News. "Leaks of this nature are incredibly damaging to America . . . and we need to look into it."

A congressional source told Fox News they believe the intelligence was known to a small circle of Obama administration officials and appointees at the end of last year. This includes some people working in the intelligence community. The source said the leaks were targeted and coordinated to undermine the Trump administration.

And if the leaker undermined national security in the process, well, you have to break some eggs to make a president fail.

True to form, House Democrats aren't really interested in the leaker, only in Flynn's contact with Russia.

Both are relevant.

Review clears Flynn of any wrongdoing with Russian ambassador

A federal investigation of retired General Michael Flynn found no evidence of any impropriety in a series of communications he had with Sergey Kislyak, the Russian ambassador to the US, Fox News reported.

Flynn has been picked as President Trump's national security adviser.

The conversation that was intercepted took place late December after Obama announced sanctions against Russia and kicked out 35 diplomats in response to what he believed was their meddling in our presidential election campaign.

Flynn had been under investigation for the last five months in a broader probe of possible ties of the Trump campaign with Russia--this is ongoing.

That investigation involves the FBI, CIA, NSA and Treasury Department.

Ironically, Hillary Clinton was found to have an illegal private server that was very likely hacked by unfriendly governments, and had sent classified emails to Sid Blumenthal, a non-government person, and she has not been indicted for any of this.
