We elect our presidents; we do not elect those whom they marry. We elected Barack Hussein Obama (to our dismay) but we did not elect Michelle Obama. But in the Twitter world, some of those on the right refer to her as Moochelle because of her sense of entitlement and extravagance she has shown the American people.
The first lady had a staff of 24 people in 2009 but cut it to 18 in 2010, and their collective salaries came to a little under $10.5 million. Having a staff of 18 is not out of the ordinary--that's the number of staff that Laura Bush had in the White House.
Earlier this year, Michelle, her girls and her mother, Marian Robinson, went on vacation to Beijing. In an article in the Daily Mail, entitled "Beijing workers 'fed up' with Obama entourage in 3400 square-foot $8,350 per night suite inconveniencing 'pretty much eveyone'--and the first lady's mother is barking at the staff." That might tell you what this article discusses.
So it seems the first lady and her mother still have a lot to learn about being out in public, amongst the peons.
Public schools across the nation that receive federal money are mandated to follow Michelle Obama's guidelines in her campaign to fight childhood obesity by serving meals that go uneaten. While not eating is one way to fight obesity, it isn't the best way to provide nutrition to growing bodies.
Under her direction, the schools had to implement strict restrictions on the nutrition content of foods served in school cafeterias, but the schools are actually losing more money than the feds are giving them and some school districts are willing to forgo the money and serve meals the kids will actually eat.
The point is, nobody voted for this lady. Nobody elected her first lady, it came with the Barack fiasco. It will be a wonderful day for our country when the Obamas are out of the White House
