Democrat Rep Tries to Muscle Past ICE Raid Barricade at Pot Farm, Gets a Reality Check

So, Congressman Salud Carbajal (D-CA) thought he could just waltz through a law enforcement line like he’s starring in some action flick, during an ICE raid at a big-time cannabis operation in Camarillo, California. Spoiler alert: the cops weren’t having his performative politics, and he got yanked back faster than you can say 'wait!'

Now, I know what you’re thinking: 'Who the heck is Salud Carbajal?' Fair question. It’s the first thing that popped into my head too.

But then comes the real kicker, and you’re probably thinking, "Well, look at that, another Democrat in Congress who thinks the rules don’t apply to him." Yes, you'd be right.

Social media footage shows Carbajal whipping out some ID, flashing it at the uniformed officers like it’s a golden ticket to the crime scene. Bold move, congressman. But this isn’t Beverly Hills Cop, Naked Gun, or a Law & Order rerun. Flashing your congressional badge doesn’t get you a VIP pass to an active ICE raid. Sorry, doofus, real life doesn’t work that way.

But you have to admit that it's good to see someone try to flex their ego and get yanked back to reality.

RedState’s Jennifer Van Laar was all over this mess on X, breaking down the chaos at the Carpinteria Glass House cannabis greenhouse. ICE rolled in on Thursday, and it didn’t take long for pro-illegal immigrant protesters to show up, waving Mexican flags, trying to block Humvees, and threatening agents with a frightening leaf blower.

Carbajal was right in the middle of the circus, stirring the brown pot. He later ran crying to the Santa Barbara Independent, whining about how he tried to 'break through the perimeter established by the ICE agents' and got shut down.

Sounds a bit like, um, insurrection, anyone?

The congressman was super mad that the cops didn’t roll out the red carpet for him. "I wanted to find out what was going on," the leftist Carbajal huffed. He flashed his fancy title to the Special Response Team (SRT), but "no one was interested." Poor guy. "No one told me anything," he sniffed. "Nobody wanted to talk to me." Possible due to the fact that nobody knew who he is.

Cue the world’s tiniest harmonica and sing me some blues.

"It was overkill and disproportionate," Carbajal ranted. "They’re militarizing our streets. They’re inciting fear, chaos, and trauma."

Not content with just whining, Carbajal went full cringe, mocking law enforcement for "having fun dressing up like they were in the military." He served in the USMC reserve playing military while never having been deployed to any hot zones.

Then he doubled down with some ugly accusations, claiming ICE was racially targeting illegal aliens at the pot farm. "It’s outrageous. It angers me. It disappoints me as an American. And they’re violating the rights of U.S. citizens. If you’re brown, you’re going to have your civil rights violated," he said.

Gee, my very own wife is. brown and she has all her rights. How's that even possible?

Dozens of farmworkers got detained during the raid. Here’s a thought: maybe ICE should round up the folks who hired them too.
