You have to be an idiot or so narcissistic that you don't realize that what you're doing is being an idiot. A West Virginia Republican Delegate Derrick Evans videoed himself and fellow rioters as they were storming the U.S. Capitol Wednesday. He later deleted it from his social media account but not before being outed by the public and calls for his resignation came in.
The video shows him wearing a helmet
A West Virginia state lawmaker recorded video of himself and fellow supporters of President Donald Trump storming the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday, triggering calls for his resignation. In the video by Republican Delegate Derrick Evans, later deleted from his social media page, he is shown wearing a helmet and shouting at the door to breach the building after Congress met for an expected vote to affirm Joe Biden's election win.
"We're in! Keep it moving, baby!" he said to no baby in particular in the packed doorway. Along for the riot were apparent Trump supporters hold flags and complaining about how uncomfortable pepper spray makes them feel.
Once inside, Evans could be seen on video wandering around the Capitol Rotunda, where historical paintings depict the republic's founding, and knowing his video would be going out to the world yelled "no vandalizing."
Lawmakers from other states also traveled to Washington, D.C. to protest the results of the Electoral College on Wednesday., but it's unclear if any other elected official forced their way into the U.S. Capitol because they weren't stupid enough to video themself and tweet or Instagram the sucker out.
Pennsylvania state Senator Doug Mastriano helped organize a bus ride to protest in Washington, D.C., and said he left the Capitol area after the eruption of violence, which he called "unacceptable." A Democratic colleague called for his resignation nonetheless because Mastriano is a Republican and his colleague is an ass.
In West Virginia, Democratic party leaders said Evans should resign and "be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law." About 10,000 people have signed an online petition calling for him to be removed from office, a month after being sworn into a first term.

He should resign based on his stupidity alone.
On Wednesday night he said in a statement on social media that he was returning to West Virginia and "was simply there as an independent member of the media to film history." Video shows him chanting President Trump's name before entering the Capitol building.
The more intelligent politicians such as Republican Senator Shelley Moore Capito strongly criticized the protest. "This is the United States of America," she said in a statement. "We don't do this. It's not who we are."

Sadly, it seems as if that is what we are becoming.
