Collins spoke for close to an hour in a lawyer-like speech about the hearing and almost immediately after she declared her support for the Kavanaugh confirmation, Manchin told the media that he will also vote to confirm. Protesters went full chant and liberal tears flowed like the River Jordan.
Manchin said that while he had some "reservations" due to the uncorroborated allegations against Kavanaugh and his temperament, he said, "I believe he will rule in a manner that is consistent with our Constitution."
Collins attacked the confirmation process saying it resembled a "caricature of a gutter-level political campaign" and she slammed Democrats for announcing their opposition to Kavanaugh even before his name was announced, in what is an apparent attack on President Trump's presidency.
Collins also criticized outside groups for distorting Kavanaugh's record and their "over-the-top rhetoric."
Yah think?
The actual confirmation vote should take place tomorrow afternoon.
