BREAKING: Michigan courthouse shooting leaves 3 dead

Berrien County, Michigan -- Two court officers were killed and a police officer was wounded Monday inside a courthouse in southwestern Michigan, according to an employee of the court.

The source of information comes from an employee of the Berrien County prosecutor's office. In all, three people were killed, including the shooter. Several civilians were also hurt but not severely.

A wounded officer was shot in the left arm and finger, and it is believed the shooter was able to get the gun away from this officer and then began shooting. It all began around 2:30 pm at the Berrien County Courthouse in St. Joseph.

Earlier this year, an Uber driver killed six people in a shooting spree in Kalamazoo, about 50 miles from where this incident occurred.

Gov. Rick Snyder tweeted that the Michigan State Police have secured the scene and the investigation into the shooting has begun.

Hunting season on law enforcement is scheduled to end in January 2017 if a conservative president is elected, or Donald Trump.
