U.S. at the Ready

We have 4 warships ready to go at Syria and we're one step closer to striking at their government in response to the most recent chemical weapons attack on Syria's civilian population. Vladimir Putinm Russia's version of Obama,  is thumbing his nose and bare chest at our smiling leader, agreeing that chemical weapons were used, but not agreeing with who may have used them. Since Obama ditched plans to discuss options regarding Syria, it has become very clear that our relationship with Russia is similar to a trial separation with a couple who aren't getting along.

Not only isn't our president at odds with Russia, but he isn't doing so hot with the House Speaker, John Boehner to get his backing for U.S. intervention. Back in 2007, when Obama was a candidate for president, he was asked if he had unilateral power to launch an attack and back then he said it would be unconstitutional to do so--but now that he is king, that has changed and Obama seems to think he can do whatever he wants.

On Hannity, Senator Ted Cruz, R-Texas said: “Our concern should be those chemical weapons, preventing them from falling into hands of Hezbollah, that should be guiding our action, not expressing some moral outrage from university faculty lounges.” I would take it one step further and say that another issue we need to keep abreast of is Iran's continued nuclear goals.

Whatever happens at this point, and it doesn't look like we're going to sit on our collective hands, Israel is in a precarious position. On a windy day, you could be in Israel, spit in the air and hit Damascus. Israeli citizens have been stocking up on gas masks for a possible sarin or ricin attack, and the situation is grave.
