Comrade Bernie Sanders gave $200K in campaign money to wife, stepson's "nonprofit" institute

Still can't whistle

Senator/Comrade Bernie Sanders (Independent Communist-VT) covertly funneled $200,000 from his campaign donations intended to be used for his reelection to his wife's supposedly nonprofit institute. The institute apparently does as much work as Bernie [hardly any] but pays a boatload of greenbacks in compensation to her son, according to Fox News Digital.

The independent senator's committee cut two $100,000 checks to the Sanders Institute for reported charitable contributions in January and March, its Federal Election Commission records show. The expenditures are the largest from the Sanders campaign to any entity this election cycle.

Bernie's charming wife and former president of the now defunct Burlington College, Jane O'Meara Sanders, and her handsome son, Dave "The Rave" Driscoll, co-established the Institute in 2017, just one year after Burlington College went under due to financial problems. The Jane-Dave Sanders Instituter was established to promote progressive [read 'communist'] voices, as per the Washington Post when it was launched.

"The purpose is to revitalize democracy in the support of progressive institutions," Jane Sanders told the Post. "Our feeling is at our point in time, our country is at a crossroads, and people are engaged in a political process that can be opaque." And her school went bankrupt due to her mishandling of the money she received for it.

"A vital democracy requires an informed electorate, civil discourse, and bold thinking," she pontificated. "So we put together this team to focus on issues, but not in a partisan way, not in a way that just focuses on the latest crazy thing. It will not be about Trump; it will be about the issues facing the country."

In 2019 the institute claimed it would suspend operations due to Bernie Sanders seeking nomination for president and the appearance of impropriety. And hey, when a communist has that much money in his coffers, it's hard to make a case for equal pay for equal yadda yadda.

But the so called "nonprofit" institute has since covertly restarted operations in the shadows out of media attention. Its 2021 tax forms show that it spent about 40% of its donations on salaries, did even less work than Bernie did at a commune, and had nothing to show for its existence, much like Bernie, Jane and David.

It turns out that David scored the most money in the institute's "operation." In 2021 the institute raised $716,618 and paid out $257,000 in wages, including $152,653 to David, the institutes' so called executive director, which he labels himself as on LinkedIn. Prior to that, he posted that he was global director of team and media for Burton Snowboards, a career that evidently went downhill.

In 2021, the institute also reported spending $159,885 on developing The Timeline Project, which they described as a "policy-focused resource based on Bernie Sanders work over four decades" that would be one of the "key pilars [sic] of the website." Additionally, they pissed away nearly $89,000 for a news website, an identical amount for social media and content creation, and $17,765 for a gathering they had to cancel due to the pandemic.

The money it was supposedly used for its projects was an illusion. Nowhere on its website is a "policy-focused resource" as described for its top program expense.

Despite Jane Sanders' claim that she wanted to support other progressive organizations, the institute did no such thing and reported zero grants to other left wing groups according to its tax records. Worse, the Sanders Institute did not disclose its donors on its tax forms, but the outlet was able to identify its main cash sources from the year of its most recent documents.

A search of FEC records shows that Sanders' 2020 presidential campaign sent $350,000 to the institute in April 2021. A nonprofit called Wend II Inc added $250,000 to build "content capacity" that year, according to their own tax forms. Wend II Inc's director is James M. Walton, the son of James Carr Walton, one of the wealthiest businessmen in the world and an heir to the Walmart fortune.

The two donations accounted for about 84% of the $716,000 the Sanders Institute raked in throughout 2021.

In 2018, VTDigger reported that the think tank had practically nothing to show to justify its existence during its first year, including sparse original content. They also found that much of it was plagiarized from other sources, much like it remains today.

Target cuts store hours in San Francisco to quell shoplifting: may cut number of products for same reason

Target is just one of many stores in San Francisco that is being hit hard with shoplifting as the city is inundated with crime. In order to force shoplifters to "get on with it" more quickly and not waste the best part of their day hanging out, they will now be forced to shoplift in a smaller window of time, that is, up to 6 p.m. instead of 10 p.m. This should eliminate those shoplifters whose mom's don't allow them to go out when it's dark.

You might remember last month when a young shoplifter took his bike into a Walmart's store, began loading up a sturdy garbage bag with merchandise, and peddled out of the store while the guard watched him shoplift and then made a perfunctory grab at the garbage bag as the kid rode out. It seemed to happen during the daytime, before 6 p.m., so it's unclear how Target got this brainstorm of an idea.

The situation in San Francisco is so horrible, in fact, that Target shuttered their doors of one city location just days ago, SFGate noted.

Perhaps another solution would be to drastically cut the selection and category of merchandise Target sells. If, let's say, they only sell toilet paper, shoplifters would not be able to load up on very much of the product as it is relatively bulky, and additionally, this would virtually eliminate shoplifting by Middle East and Asian miscreants.

But as a last resort, large retailers could hire real security guards who would actually be more than uniformed decoration. And when it comes to policing, it might be a good idea to actually arrest criminals and prosecute them, regardless of race or ethnicity. After all, isn't everyone supposed to be equal under the law?

BREAKING: Potential Walmart attack stopped by good guy with a gun

An off-duty firefighter with a legal carry permit stopped a possible attack from going down at a Missouri Walmart. A 20-year-old man arrived at the store with a rifle, body armor and over 100 rounds of ammo.

"His intent was not to cause peace or comfort to anybody that was in the business," Lt. Mike Lucas with the Springfield Police Department said. "In fact, he’s lucky to be alive still to be honest."

Although it's not yet clear what the man's intent was, Lucas said: "We definitely have some crimes here."

Lucas said that there may have been a Facebook live posted by the suspect and that law enforcement officials are conducting an investigation and looking through the suspect's social media. But in any case, the guy is in big trouble.

He seems to be a copycat operator inspired by the El Paso massacre. This is why it's wrong to post photos, names and manifestos of the shooters.

KOLR news anchor tweeted: "20-year-old man with rifle, handgun & body armor arrested at Walmart on Republic. SFD Police say he had 100+ rounds of ammunition. Off-duty firefighter with concealed carry gun held him at gunpoint until officers arrived about 3 minutes later."

The Springfield Police Department said in a statement:

At approximately 4:10 p.m. Springfield Police Officers were dispatched to 3150 W. Republic Rd. to a Walmart Neighborhood Market. An armed white male in his twenties was detained by an armed off-duty fireman until officers arrived on scene and took the suspect into custody. No injuries were reported and no shots were fired. At this time, the investigation is on-going and we are working to determine his motives.
The incident comes after a white supremacist terrorist massacred nearly two dozen people in a domestic terror attack at a Walmart in El Paso last Saturday in which the terrorist targeted Latinos.

Walmart plans to symbolically flip off Bernie Sanders in June

Socialist presidential candidate running for president on the Democratic Party, Senator Comrade Bernie Sanders (Socialist-VT) will be speaking at the June 5th shareholders meeting, using the power of his presidential candidacy and his bad breath to advance Walmart workers’ effort to give hourly workers "a seat on the bawd," according to Bloomberg News.

Two campaigns will collide when Walmart holds its annual shareholders meeting on June 5, but the retail giant doesn’t plan to devote much time to either.

“These workahs need and deserve a seat at the tayble,” the Brooklyn-born Russia-loving 127-year-old socialist said, almost incoherently.

“If hourly workahs at Walmart were well represented on its bawd, I doubt you would see the CEO of Walmart making over a thousand times more than its average worker.

“Walmart workers are sick and tieyid of being paid povity wages, while the Walton family is worth over $170 billion,” Sanders tweeted Tuesday, not in a Brooklyn accent.

Insofar as anyone knows, Sanders hasn't actually spoken to any Walmart workers, but he wants the Walton family to do what he's unwilling to do--reach into their pockets and pay up.

Sanders is to his money as feminists are to Muslim women.

Walmart, which often has celebrities at its annual meeting, will not roll out the red carpet for Sanders [although red is his favorite color] because he's kind of a schmuck and clearly a Marxist who has never held a actual job.

Shareholder proposals are relegated to the tail end of Walmart’s meeting. Last year, the gathering devoted about a half-hour to all of the proposals from shareholders.

"Mmm, chawklick puddink"

“If Senator Sanders attends, we hope he will approach his visit not as a campaign stop, but as a constructive opportunity to learn about the many ways we’re working to provide increased economic opportunity, mobility and benefits to our associates,” company spokesman Randy Hargrove said in an emailed statement.

He might even learn what real work looks like. The dude was kicked off a kibbutz in Israel for being lazy. Really.

“Since the beginning, a cornerstone of Walmart’s culture has been engaging frontline associates in the management of the company, and we’re proud of the fact that 75% of our U.S. management associates began their career as frontline hourly associates,” the statement also said, according to Fox Business Network.

Caroline "Cat" Davis, a certified pharmacy technician in New Bern, N.C., drafted the proposal that Sanders will support, or to put it in his terms, "sahpawt."

“At a time of deepening racial and economic divide and insecurity, hourly associates can guide a more fair, inclusive and equitable corporate ecosystem that bridges differences,” the proposal said.

Davis, who is also a leader for workers’ rights organization United for Respect, filed it.

“We really want Walmart to think about us — the lowly associates who, behind the scenes, are the ones bringing in the money,” Davis said.

Walmart is advising shareholders to oppose the proposal.

Walmart CEO Doug McMillon had a $23.6 million pay package last year and the envy of socialists knows no bounds.

In 2018, Sanders introduced the Stop Walmart Act to prevent large companies from buying back stock unless they pay everyone at least $15 an hour, and to allow workers to earn up to seven days of paid sick leave.

Ga. father and Walmart Santa charged in deaths of his 2 children

Rincon -- A Georgia father was charged in connection in the deaths of his two kids. He reportedly worked as a Santa at a local Walmart just days before he was arrested, Fox News reported.

Elwyn Crocker, 50, was charged with child cruelty and concealing a death in connection with the killing of his two children. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, he worked as a jolly Santa Claus at the Walmart in Rincon, Georgia.

“This guy, the biological father, was a Santa Claus at Rincon Walmart, and these other families who live out here had their kids in his lap,” Ronald Howe, a neighbor, told WTOC.

Law enforcement officials investigating the disappearance of Mary Crocker, 14, searched property in Guyton, where the girl lived. They discovered two bodies, one confirmed to be Mary's and the other was that of her body Elwyn Crocker Jr., who had not been seen since November 2016.

Looks like a case of inter-familial breeding

The children's stepmother Candice Crocker, 33, Kim Wright, 50, and Wright’s boyfriend, Roy Anthony Prater, 55, were also charged with child cruelty and concealing a death in connection to the children’s killings. They all lived in the same house with Elwyn Crocker. Imagine what those poor children went through before they died--how incredibly horrible and sad.

They were being held in Effingham County Jail without bond. More charges were expected. 

Every one of them should get the death penalty.

Gena Sullivan, spokesperson for the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office, said that deputies were only called to the residence “for complaints about a couple of pit bulls” but later learned that the family was reported to the Division of Family and Children Services, a largely useless government agency as are almost all child welfare agencies throughout the country.

The children were enrolled in school in the county but were pulled out for homeschooling, WTOC reported, which is surprising because the photos show people that look like they would be hard-pressed to even read the funny papers.

The news of the death shocked the small town of fewer than 2,000 people.

“I’ve been doing this 41 years and, a while ago, I almost broke down in tears. It’s that bad,” Sheriff Jimmy McDuffie said. “I don’t understand how you do children like this.”

Florida Walmart shooter not expected to survive

Ocala, Florida -- David Johnson, 55, the shooting suspect at a Florida Walmart, will probably die from his wounds, like Carli Cronin, 30, died from the multiple wounds he inflicted on her. It was over a domestic dispute that took place Saturday afternoon in the garden section of a Walmart.

Johnson fled the scene on a bicycle and then shot himself when he figured he couldn't peddle fast enough to outrun a police cruiser.

No other shoppers or employees were injured.

Scotty Ballard, a Florida man and the victim's roommate, told the Ocala Star-Banner that the woman shot in a Walmart store was killed by her ex-boyfriend. He said they had gone to Walmart to buy furnishings that comes all the way from China for their apartment. He explained that Cronin and Johnson had dated for about nine months but were currently apart and said they had been arguing all day.

Ballard said Johnson wanted to get back together with Cronin but she did not want any part of the guy.

Ocala PD said in a Facebook post allowed by Mark Zuckerberg, that Johnson was hospitalized late Saturday afternoon due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Walmart shoplifting spree turns deadly

Elkton, MD -- The accomplice of the woman driving the getaway car at a Walmart shoplifting spree was backed over and killed as the driver was attempting to flee the scene.

The karma incident occurred on Saturday at the Elkton Walmart at around 1 a.m., according to CBS Baltimore.

Three thieves, whom police identified as Chermain Mayo, Donisha Harris, and Kaneesha Cunningham were involved in the crime that ended in tragedy.

A security guard spotted the three thieves as the exited the store with about $1,000 in stolen merchandise. He followed them out into the parking lot and attempted to take photos of the license plate of their vehicle.

"In an attempt to conceal the tag, the victim, Kaneesha Cunningham, jumped on the trunk of the vehicle and tried to use her body to cover the tag," Police Department Captain Joe Zurolo said.

According to cops, while Cunningham was on the back of the vehicle, the driver, Mayo, reversed and hit the curb which caused Cunningham to become trapped under the car. When Mayo, [not the brightest of the trio, evidently] reversed again, she ran over Cunningham.

So Mayo and Harris fled on foot but were soon apprehended [aka 'caught'] by authorities.

Cunningham, 38, was pronounced dead on the scene.

"For me, it's really sad to see that someone could just dehumanize someone like that and leave the scene," Capt. Zurolo told the media. "It's crazy, I mean a total disregard of life in my opinion. They didn't even attempt to at least render air."

Mayo is charged with negligent manslaughter and negligent auto homicide. Harris has been charged with theft. They will both spend a little time in jail, be released and blame society or President Trump.

"No need for it to rise to that level of violence where someone loses their life," Zurolo said. "Totally outrageous."

Cunningham will likely be a serious nomination for a posthumous Darwin Award for boldly jumping on the vehicle.

Dick's and Walmart face ageism lawsuits over gun-selling policy

Dick's Sporting Goods and Walmart are facing lawsuits filed by an Oregon man who hasn't yet turned 21, the age that these companies now require a rifle buyer to be to make the purchase. This is in spite of federal law that has the minimum age of purchasing a rifle to be 18.

Tyler Watson, 20, filed suits against both retailers after they refused to sell him a rifle.

The Associated Press reports:

Tyler Watson's lawsuits filed against the retailers in two separate counties claim he faced age discrimination from Dick's and Walmart, The Oregonian/OregonLive reported The policies enacted on Feb. 28

The lawsuit claims a store owned by Dick's Sporting Goods in Medford, Oregon, refused to sell Watson .22-caliber Ruger rifle on Feb. 24. The suit says Grants Pass Walmart in Oregon refused to sell him a gun on March 3.

Watson's attorney, Max Whittington, made it clear that his client was not looking for notoriety by filing a lawsuit, saying he "was really just trying to buy a rifle."

Watson is asking for judges to force Dick's Sporting Goods and Walmart "to stop unlawfully discriminating against 18, 19, and 20-year-old customers at all Oregon locations."

Dick's didn't respond to requests for comment but Walmart intends to fight the suit.

"We stand behind our decision and plan to defend it," the Walmart virtue-signaler said. "While we haven't seen the complaint, we will respond as appropriate with the court."

I think if Christians can be forced to bake a cake for a gay wedding, selling a rifle to an 18-year-old is a no brainer. In the first case, a person's religious beliefs are being abused by the buyer; in the second case, the buyer's rights are being abused

Dick's losing customers

Dick's Sporting Goods Inc. is like the Starbucks of sporting goods stores. They have to throw out their uninformed opinion about gun control and don't know what they're talking about.

They say their decision to not sell firearms to adults under 21 years old has hurt traffic and retail sales. The decision came on the heels of the Parkland, Florida school shooting that left 17 people dead.

Customers are upset, especially those who know that most mass shooters are over 21 and the latest school shooter, who was 19, was on law enforcement radar multiple times as well as mental health radar, but the warnings were ignored.

So Dick's tried to virtue signal by raising the age to 21, while federal law makes it 18 years of age. 

Walmart is doing the same.

Dick's said it was surprised by the "outpouring of support" by ignorant people who don't wait for the victims to be buried before calling for more gun control.

Ask Chicago about gun control. Ask Detroit.

"Some of those customers that buy firearms, buy other things also," Dick's Chief Executive Edward Stack figured out all by himself. "There are just going to be some people who just don't shop us anymore for anything."

Let's hope so. Any establishment that goes against the Second Amendment should lose business.

Initially, President Trump almost took the bait, but now the administration is exploring actual efficacious ways to lessen gun violence. Stop and frisk is one step, and arming trained teachers and school staff is another. I suspect a better data base on mental health issues and law enforcement that actually enforces the law, would reduce gun crime. Getting rid of "gun-free" (aka:"shoot me") zones would also help.

At least Dick's stupidity translated to it's market shares, which fell 2.5% midday Tuesday as they reported a sales decline of 2% in its latest quarter.

It's kind of what Starbucks did when they chose sides and became the nation's  political virtue mavens. 

Just serve the damn coffee.

Orlando: Officer killed and Deputy Sheriff dies in crash in pursuit of killer

UPDATE: The name of the female officer has been released. She is Master Sgt. Debra Clayton.

Developing -- A wanted murder suspect, Markeith Loyd, is accused of shooting and killing an Orlando police officer on Monday. Law enforcement say that he is a felon with  20 arrests since 1994 in Orange County, and is possibly armed and dangerous.

Loyd  was accused of murdering his pregnant ex-girlfriend in December.

He was wearing a security uniform at the time of Monday's shooting, according to a witness, James Herman. "(The shooter) was an average looking dude, he walked by me, had a security vest and everything. I was walking down the sidewalk, right past past the officer, and I heard her tell him to stop, or whatever, and he shot her. He shot her down."

Loyd has been on the run since December 13 after police accused him of shooting and killing 24-year-old Sade Dixon, pregnant and a mother of two, and critically wounding her brother, Ronald Steward.

The shooting of the officer happened outside a Walmart. The unnamed officer was tipped off by a shopper who was putting her belongings away in her car. As the officer walked towards the store, the suspect ran out and fired about a dozen rounds and three hit the officer.

A manhunt was launched and the perp pulled into an apartment complex, fired shots and hit one deputy's unmarked SUV twice, then carjacked another vehicle and escaped. Thankfully, nobody was reported injured at the apartment complex. However, in pursuit of the suspect, a deputy sheriff was killed in a vehicular accident.

City Commissioner Regina Hill identified the female officer as her Orlando Police Department liason but her name was not given.

Parking and Other Problems

Imagine someone gives you a hundred good choices, say a hundred pieces of fantastic candy, all good, but all slightly different, and you can only have one piece. Or imagine you're a bachelor who is stranded on a deserted tropical island for years and suddenly a hundred beautiful people of the opposite sex (or same sex if you swing that way) arrive, and you can choose only one of them to satisfy your sexual needs that had gone unfulfilled for that entire year. Or say you go to Walmart to pick up some Elmer's Glue and when you get there you must choose between a hundred different parking spaces, all similar, but all having a slightly different advantage; what do you do?

This is precisely what Canada is like. There are so many choices and all of them are good ones. The pace is leisurely, and nobody seems to get annoyed at drivers stopping at red lights when they probably could have "made it" in time. Nobody minds being on the short line in the market and finding the long line is moving quicker and you would have been out the door faster.

Just look at all those parking places by the seagull and note the look of confusion on the gull's face--he wasn't sure where to park either.
