Mercedes Schlapp leaves White House: rumors of tension wit

Mercedes Schlapp
Mercedes Schlapp was the White House Director of Strategic Communication and unexpectedly resigned Monday, coincidentally [or not] on the first full day in which Stephanie Grisham, the new White House Press Secretary, began her first day in Washington.

White House Director of Strategic Communications Mercedes Schlapp abruptly resigned Monday on the first full day White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham worked from Washington.

The Washington Examiner said that last month, sources close to the administration revealed that Grisham had plans to fire Schlapp if she had the chance, but the reason for Schlapp's unannounced departure is unclear.

Schlapp worded for the George W. Bush White House and is married to Matt Schlapp who is chairman of the American Conservative Union, the organization that hosts CPAC conferences annually. Both she and Matt are frequent guests on Fox News.

Three sources told the Washington Examiner in May that Grisham believed Schlapp was responsible for self-serving leaks and likely would fire her shortly after taking office. However, nearly a dozen people who know both women, denied any open tension.

One of the original sources said they later learned an ally of Schlapp's had spread the story of a looming clash, in an apparent bid to derail Grisham.

“Stephanie is not the type who would go in and start firing people. That's not how she's wired. I think it's dramatically overblown,” one former White House official said.
Stephanie Grisham
The new White House Press Secretary began her work over the weekend and also as communications director. She went with the President to Japan and South Korea and got into a pushing match with North Korea journalists who were boxing out American press to get photos of President Trump's historic visit into North Korea with Kim Jong Un. She previously worked two years as spokeswoman to first lady Melania Trump.

A supporter of Grisham's told the Washington Examiner last month that they expected her to take a sharper approach to “reporters being unfair” and “people in the administration doing things they shouldn’t."

The supporter imagined Grisham “basically being the president's press and political secret service — if you need to shiv someone, you do it.”

Neither Grisham nor Sanders responded to media questions about the situation.

First lady's office seeks firing of deputy security adviser

The office of first lady Melania Trump said on Tuesday that Mira Ricardel, the deputy national security adviser, a position just below that of John Bolton, should be given her walking papers. This is a rather bold move coming after President Trump is contemplating further firings of his Cabinet after the attorney general Jeff Sessions was forced to resign.

Stephanie Grisham, Melania's communication director and not related to writer John Grisham as far as we can tell, said in a statement, "It is the position of the Office of the First Lady that [Ricardel] no longer deserves the honor of serving in this White House."

Why?

Because it is alleged by the Wall Street Journal that Ricardel and Melania Trump's staff had a dispute over seating arrangement on a plane during the first lady's trip to Africa last month. The Journal also added that Grisham's office suspects Ricardel of leaking negative stories about Mrs. Trump and her staff.

"If so, she should be waterboarded and fired thereafter," an anonymous source told CNN's Jim Acosta.

It was further reported that Ricardel fought with Defense Secretary Mad Dog Mattis over policy differences, staffing decisions, and the best way to kill someone to neutralize the threat.

Ricardel assumed the deputy national security adviser in May, one month after POTUS appointed John Bolton as national security adviser to replace Henry McMaster.

The angst over Ricardel comes at a time Trump is considering changes to his Cabinet that might include the firings of White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, and first lady Melania Trump, although that's somewhat doubtful at this time.

WJS reported Tuesday that Trump is "resigned" to the possibility of a Kelly canning if Nielsen is made to resign.

Alec Baldwin makes pathetic claim that Melania likes his 'Trump'

Alec Baldwin does a rather angry impression of President Trump on "Saturday Night Live." He is considered to be the go-to guy for the Trump impression but now he's claiming that First Lady Melania Trump actually is a fan of his impressions of her husband.

Baldwin spoke on WNYC's "The Brian Lehrer Show" when he made the fake claim that FLOTUS loves SNL and his tawdry impression of Donald Trump, despite POTUS's pointing out that the impression basically sucks.

"Someone told me, who is friends with someone in the White House, or formerly in the White House, that Melania Trump loves 'SNL' and she loves my impersonation," he claimed. He alleged that the first lady believes his portrayal of her husband is right on the money.

There's always a 'someone' whose name remains anonymous with liars and liberals, but I repeat myself.

Melania's director of communications, Stephanie Grisham, refuted Baldwin's balderdash in an email to Newsweek.

"That is not true, which is why Mr. Baldwin has no actual names to go with his bizarre assertion."

President Trump has commented on Twitter about Baldwin's SNL performance last December:
"Just tried watching Saturday Night Live--unwatchable! Totally biased, not funny and the Baldwin impersonation just can't get any worse. Sad!"
What's equally sad is that the President of the United States of America is so thin-skinned and petty about Baldwin that he has to stoop way down to hit back.

Sometimes the best 'hit back' is not paying attention to the little person attacking you.
