BREAKING: Oliver North to become NRA President

Breaking -- Lt. Col. Oliver North has been tapped on the shoulder to be come the president of the National Rifle Association of America, a process that the NRA Board of Directors initiated Monday.

North (no relation to Kayne West) will no longer be a Fox News contributor and will be taking over from current president, Pete Brownell.

Brownell did not seek a second term.

"I am honored to have been selected by the NRA Board to soon serve as this great organization's President," North said in a news release, adding, "I appreciate the board initiating a process that affords me a few weeks to set my affairs in order, and I am eager to hit the ground running as the new NRA President."

One can only imagine how CNN and MSNBC will interpret what North meant by "affairs."

NRA Executive Vice President and CEO Wayne LaPierre said that North is a "legendary warrior for American freedom, a gifted contributor and skilled leader." He called the North announcement "the most exciting news for our members since Charlton Heston [aka Moses] became President of our Association."

NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch congratulated Ollie on his new position.

Wayne LaPierre warns Obama in no uncertain terms

Someone had to tell Barack Obama that the problem with violence in this country isn't about gun control; the problem is about following the laws and putting felons in prison who use guns illegally.

A video warning the president about this problem was made last Tuesday by Wayne LaPierre, the head of the NRA. It's definitely worth watching and passing along to your fellow patriots. It's only a few minutes long.

So please tweet this post and then tweet the video separately so as many people in contact with your account can see it.

Thank you.
