Hamas Huddles with Palestinian Crews, Israel’s Security Brass Tracks the Ceasefire Buzz

Hamas is deep in talks with Palestinian factions over the US-Qatar ceasefire pitch, with a final call looming Friday evening, sources say. The terror group’s chewing on the deal, promising a verdict post-meetings.

Meanwhile, Israel’s security cabinet was glued to updates Thursday night, as Hamas-linked chatter claimed the Gaza-based outfit gave a thumbs-up to the latest hostage-ceasefire package.

No official word from Hamas yet, but as the kids say, the clock’s ticking, and we can expect an announcement soon. The Hamas-affiliated Al-Aqsa Channel dropped hints late Thursday that the group’s leaning positive.

Sources talking to Asharq Al-Awsat say Hamas is showing “flexibility” on touchy issues like weapons and deportation, which didn’t make the negotiation table this round. They’re floating guarantees via Egypt and Qatar to choke off “all types of weapons” smuggling, shutter arms factories, and keep their arsenal locked up tight with no boots on the ground, and no new tunnels.

This deal’s got legs after months of dead-end talks, boosted by a US sweetener: “President Trump will commit that negotiations for the terms of the end of the war will continue even after the temporary ceasefire, and will do everything in his power to help the parties agree on the terms for a permanent ceasefire,” N12 reported.

Gaza is still holding 50 Israeli hostages, with less than half believed to be alive, because Hamas is hateful, terrorist scum.
