“These two terrorists played a direct role in the murder of our soldiers,” the IDF spat out in a statement, naming the fallen heroes: Lieutenant Matan Shai Yashinovski; Staff Sergeants Alon Davidov, Ronel Ben-Moshe, and Niv Radia; and Sergeants Ronen Shapiro, Shahar Manoav, and Maayan Baruch Pearlstein. These brave souls were cut down on June 24 while operating in Khan Yunis under the 188th Armored Brigade’s offensive.
Here’s how it went down, per a military probe first reported by Army Radio’s Doron Kadosh: the soldiers were holed up in a Puma armored personnel carrier, taking cover from a nearby Israeli airstrike. Out of nowhere, a terrorist sprinted up, climbed onto the APC, and chucked an explosive inside. No pre-planted bomb, no rigged trap—just a gutless, up-close attack.
The IDF made it clear the troops did everything by the book, using the armored vehicle to shield themselves from shrapnel or collapsing buildings. Just before the blast, another unit in the same battalion took an RPG hit and an explosive attack, leaving two more soldiers wounded—one seriously, one lightly.
The military’s not slowing down. “The IDF will not rest until all those responsible for harming our soldiers and civilians are brought to justice,” they vowed, promising to keep hunting terrorist filth in Gaza.
This attack ranks among the deadliest single strikes on Israeli forces in the ongoing Gaza conflict. Hamas’s cowardly tactics won’t break Israel’s resolve—they’re just signing their own death warrants.
