IDF sends out call-up orders for thousands for renewed Gaza invasion

Israeli Defense Forces is sending out call-up orders for tens of thousands of reservists beginning Sunday. This is due to the widening of the Gaza invasion.

According to the IDF, the invasion will take place in stages and may take days or weeks before leaving a better understanding of the strategy and impact the further invasion of the IDF would have.

Despite the huge number of call-ups, the total of reservists will still fall far below the call-up of hundreds of thousands of soldiers in October 2023 when Hamas attacked Israel.

As of this writing, the IDF controls about 40% of Gaza since it renewed its invasion on March 18th. At that time, Hamas offered barely any resistance aside from hit-and-miss guerrilla-style ambushes of IDF troops.

However, most of the Hamassholes are thought to be hiding among close to two million civilians in humanitarian zones or in portions of central Gaza where there are suspicions of hostages being held.
