IDF kills senior Hezbollah engineer

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted an airstrike in southern Lebanon, targeting and killing a senior Hezbollah engineer in the Nabatiya area. He was also involved in smuggling advanced weapons--the pinpoint strike was the IDF's effort to ensure freedom of action for Air Force in Lebanon airspace.

Lebanon reported that the Israeli airstrike targeted a vehicle near Baalbek, deep in Lebanese territory.

The operation was part of a broader IDF action against Hezbollah, which included striking several launchers and military infrastructure where Hezbollah operatives were active.

The engineer was identified as Ali Jafaar Maatuk, the head of Hezbollah’s engineering unit in southern Lebanon.

The IDF struck several launchers and military infrastructure where terrorists from the Hezbollah terrorist organization were operating in the Nabatiya area in southern Lebanon, the military announced on Sunday.
