President Ronald Reagan is credited with being the first president to highlight everyday Americans during State of the Union addresses in order to illustrate policy impacts they created. Presidents that followed continued that practice and President Trump is no exception.
In his March 4th address, President Trump introduced a 13-year-old boy who is a brain cancer survivor and who loved the police. Trump took his love for the law a step further and made him an honorary Secret Service agent and the boy's eyes lit up when he was handed his credentials. The Republican side of the aisle cheered wildly while most of the Democrats remained sitting on their virtuous butts.
Social media erupted at their disgusting behavior.
Then there was the skepticism on the left who said that Trump was using the child and other ordinary Americans as props, but this is exactly what all presidents have done since Reagan so as to make a point. It's okay when Democrats do it, but never when it's the GOP.

"A terminally ill child with brain cancer is given an honorary Secret Service award and the Democrats refuse to stand or clap for the child," Trump administration official Ric Grennell tweeted.
"Democrats refused to stand or clap for a little boy fighting cancer," Libs of TikTok posted on X. "Truly sick people."
"Democrats refused to stand for the brain cancer surviving kid! How awful can one party be?" Outkick founder Clay Travis tweeted.
"Democrats didn’t even stand for the boy who survived brain cancer," Republican activist Scott Pressler posted on X.
"Can’t believe the lousy Democrats can’t even applaud a little boy with brain cancer or a Kennedy who wants to Make America Healthy Again," New York Post columnist Miranda Devine of the New York Post wrote on X.However, others were more emotional and focused on the significance of the event.
"This is the first time I can remember crying during a state of the union. Thank you President Trump," Meghan McCain posted. "This is so beautiful. Anyone who has been impacted by brain cancer knows how special this is."Of course, John McCain, Megan's father, (R-AZ) died of brain cancer in 2018.

The Democrats were rude as Trump spoke and Rep. Al Green (D-TX) had to be removed for his incessant heckling. Other leftists who left the speech early was Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) and comrade Sen. Bernie Sanders (Communist-VT).
I believe this was Trump's finest speech thus far as President. He made common sense points about illegal immigration, males playing in female sports, the Ukraine-Russia war, taxes and other issues. He was strong and clear, unlike his predecessor.
The Democrats came off looking petty and clueless as to how the American public views this administration. They have nothing to offer beside complaining.
