The IDF eliminated a local Hamas commander in the city of Jenin on Friday as the operation in the area pushes forward.
Wassem Hazem [was, were] was killed and was the head of the Jenin Hamassholes. He was also the terrorist involved in the shooting and bombings in the Palestinian territory.
Two other Hamassholes who tried to escape the car they were all traveling in were killed by a drone, the IDF said, adding that weapons, explosives, and large sums of cash were found in the vehicle. Hopefully the cash will help plant trees in Israel and help fund those displaced from their homes in northern Israel.
Hamas confirmed the death of all three men, who it said were members of its Al-Qassam Brigades armed wing. [May their memory be a foreshadowing.]
In the village of Zababdeh, just outside Jenin, a burnt-out car riddled with bullet holes stood against a wall where the vehicle came to a halt after being pursued by an Israeli special forces unit, residents said.
Villager Saif Ghannam, 25, said one of the two other men who escaped from the vehicle was blown away just outside his house by a small drone strike that shattered the windows, while a second man was killed a short distance away.
The retribution of October 7 occurred as Israeli forces kept up a large-scale operation involving hundreds of troops and police that was launched in the early hours of Wednesday morning in Jenin and Tulkarm, another volatile city in the northern West Bank, as well as the Jordan Valley.
Israeli armored personnel carriers, supported by helicopters and drones, advanced into Jenin and Tulkarm on Friday. Armored bulldozers tore up roads to eliminate roadside bombs planted by terrorists.
This escalation in hostilities in the West Bank occurs as fighting between Israeli forces and Hamas terrorists continues to rage in the Gaza Strip, nearly 11 months after it began. Additionally, clashes with the Iranian-backed Hezbollah terrorist group along the Israel-Lebanon border have intensified.
Israel‘s military, in a summary of its operations, said: “So far, the forces have eliminated 20 terrorists in exchanges of fire and airstrikes and apprehended 17 suspects linked to terrorist activities.”

Israel points out that Iran supplies weapons and support to terrorist factions in Judea and Samaria, prompting the military to intensify its operations in the region.
The British government, ever the anti-Semites they are, expressed deep concern on Friday over Israel's actions in Judea and Samaria, emphasizing the urgent need for de-escalation to effectively give Hamas a chance to recover from its losses.
