Speaker Johnson promises Mayorkas will still be impeached in spite of "setback"

The GOP's failure to stand together in order to impeach the very impeachable Alejandro Mayorkas was just a blip for House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) he said. Actually, he called it a "setback" but promised the House Republicans will try, try, try again until they get it right.

Johnson spoke to so called "reporters" on Capitol Hill after the votes were tallied in which the GOP showed themselves to be impotent--they just couldn't get up the votes they needed against the worst Secretary of Homeland Security and possibly one of the worst Americans. Johnson discussed the border clusterfrack Mayorkas allowed, as well as the $17,600,000,000 Israel aid package.

“Last night was a setback, but democracy is messy,” Johnson said in response to a question on impeachment, noting the House GOP has a “razor thin margin” over the Democrats, thanks to Ronna McDaniel, the RNC Chairwoman who is likely going to be looking for work soon.

Johnson alluded to Rep. Al Green (D-TX), who showed up at the last moment to cast his vote while in a wheelchair after being rushed from a hospital where he has been recovering from abdominal surgery.

“Sometimes when you’re counting votes and people show up when they’re not expected to be in the building, that changes the equation,” Johnson said.

Three RINO lawmakers joined Democrats who tend to vote in solidarity. to defeat the resolution, arguing that the problems with border security boil down to  policy differences rather than impeachable offenses, which is nonsense if you understand how the bill give Babbling Biden the ability to defeat the bill with emergency mumbles.

GOP Vice Chairman Blake Moore (R-UT) flipped to a “no” vote at the last minute to break a tie, so that Republicans will get another chance to bring up the impeachment resolution in the future. They await the return of Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA), who has been battling cancer.

Johnson said lawmakers have a “duty” to hold Mayorkas and the Biden administration accountable.

“We will pass those articles of impeachment. We’ll do it on the next time round,” Johnson vowed, but didn't provide a date for the next vote.

Johnson blasted House Democrats for voting against the Israel aid bill for "political purposes," and certainly not for moral reasons.

Of course they did, nobody is surprised about that.

But what the GOP doesn't seem to do is remain solid on issues, especially when the security of our nation is at stake.
