Some people cannot find anything in which to criticize former President Donald Trump. For many, he can do no wrong, even when he makes a wild, anti-democratic statement suggesting the "termination" of the U.S. Constitution in order to overturn the 2020 election or have it rerun, so that he can take his place back in the Oval Office.
Don't get me wrong; I prefer Trump over any Democrat that would run in 2024 if he was to win the GOP nomination, but the one thing that all conservatives agree on, or at least should agree on, is the sanctity of our Constitution. Anyone who disagrees with that and who supports Trump's self-serving call for its termination, is not a true conservative.
“A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution,” Trump wrote in a post Saturday on his social network, Truth Social.
The Trump post came in response to a Friday report by liberal writer Matt Taibbi regarding Twitter employees' internal communications over the company's decision in 2020 to block links to the New York Post article describing emails found on Hunter Biden's laptop.
Taibbi also criticized the fact that the Biden campaign had a back channel to request Twitter to remove certain posts as did the GOP.
Andrew Bates [as a child was often referred to as "Master Bates"] a White House spokesman, said in a statement that “[A]ttacking the Constitution and all it stands for is anathema to the soul of our nation and should be universally condemned."

Of course, this is almost laughable coming from the Left. They find the U.S. Constitution an interference to their agenda. And let's not forget how much they hate the Second Amendment and aren't keen with the First Amendment either. So Bates lecturing us is ridiculous and hypocritical.
A few Republicans did reject Trump's comments.

“Well, obviously I don’t support that,” Representative-elect Mike Lawler, said on CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday. ”The Constitution is set for a reason, to protect the rights of every American.”
No kidding, Sherlock.
Some Republicans, however, kept silent on the issue, including Rep. Kevin McCarthy, the current House Minority leader with hopes of becoming Speaker in January. The fact that McCarthy remained mum is disturbing.
But it took Twitter CEO Elon Musk, a man who cannot ever become President as he was not born in the USA [as was Bruce Springsteen] to tweet that "[T]he Constitution is greater than any President. End of story."
Sorry Trump fans--Musk is correct.
I truly like what Trump has done as President, but not what he said this time.
