Russian President and Dictator for Life Vladimir Putin thought that his troops would have an easy time of it taking Ukraine. He figured it would be over in a matter of a few days and didn't foresee the Ukrainians putting up a fight. Putin puts the "dic" in dictator--he was wrong.
In the past two days, Ukraine says they have killed at least 2,800 Russian troops, shooting down helicopters and paratroopers in the air as rockets and airstrikes rained down on the capital of Ukraine.
A group of paratroopers landed in Kyiv and were lost. They asked Ukrainian civilians for help finding a meetup point but they were quickly surrounded and taken prisoner by the Ukraine military, according to a professor at National University of Kyiv Mohyla Academy, Mychailo Wynnyckyj.
The professor was talking to Fox News' Martha MacCallum from an underground bunker and assured her that Ukrainians are not giving up and will fight the Russians to the bitter end. He asked the American people and members of NATO to help by providing air support--anti aircraft weapons and the like--but he did not ask for help on the ground as he is aware of the situation and the inability to provide them with boots on the ground.
Meanwhile, the Biden administration is not providing any sanctions with real "teeth," but will join the EU in adding more [useless] sanctions.

And as this war is going on, the US will be sitting at the same table to deal with the Iran nuclear deal.
Biden will be announcing his SCOTUS pick today and then will retreat to Delaware.
BREAKING: As this is being written, Germany said they may be willing to consider sanctioning Russia from SWIFT, the global banking platform. This is one of the only sanctions that might have bite, but to really make any difference, sanctions should be made permanent, in my opinion. But we need to see it before we should believe it.
