MI top health official flips off Whitmer's warning about travel

"I do what I want"

Never take the advice of people whose motto is "do as I say, not as I do." They're lying to you.

Michigan's new Department of Health and Human Services Director Elizabeth Hertel is such a person as is the Governor of Michigan, Gretchen Whitmer. [H/T Fox News]

Hertel traveled to Alabama last week right after her boss, Gretchen Whitmer tried to discourage residents to stay home, stay safe, don't take your boat out like my idiot husband tried to do.

Michigan is now the nation's leader in coronavirus cases and Hertel doesn't care. She headed out to Gulf Shores, Alabama as per the Michigan Information & Research Service. The Gulf Shores is a popular resort destination along the Gulf of Mexico.

A DHHS spokesperson told Fox News that the agency doesn't "discuss the director’s personal schedule," [as it tends to incriminate her].

"I do what I want"

Michigan GOP spokesman Ted Goodman told the outlet, "The sheer brazenness of Gov. Whitmer and her staff is truly something else."

"The fact that our Governor and her top staff think it’s appropriate to travel out of state on vacation as Michigan faces the worst COVID numbers of any state in the country just reveals the arrogance and condescending nature of this administration. Whitmer’s position on the draconian lockdown orders is simple — rules for thee, but not for me."

You may recall how Whitmer's darling husband tried to take his boat out for fun last year at the throes of the pandemic after the state was in lockdown.

Whitmer's chief operating officer Tricia Foster, made headlines earlier this month for vacationing in Florida even though Whitmer said she was "concerned" about travel between states.

Thinking nobody would see it, the not so bright Foster even posted photos to Facebook of herself vacationing in Siesta Key. After Breitbart initially reported on her fun in the sun, Foster deleted the post out of guilt.

Do what they say, not what they do.
