The Biden administration has refused to allow the media into the facilities holding the children who have crossed the US border and are being detained. But fortunately, we have them doing the work of the media and, I am happy to say, a Democratic congressman who also took photos of the overcrowded and dangerous conditions.
The photo below was taken at a facility in Donna, Texas. The photo was released Monday by the office of Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) even though the Biden administration has limited access to the southwestern border.
With the Biden administration treating the border crisis with limiting access by the media, the country seems to be more like Communist China than what used to be our free country where the press was the watchdogs instead of the lapdogs of the government.
"I respectfully ask US Customs and Border Protection to stop blocking media access to their border operations," award-winning photojournalist John Moore tweeted Friday. "I have photographed CBP under Bush, Obama and Trump but now - zero access is granted to media. These long-lens images taken from the Mexican side."
He added: "There’s no modern precedent for a full physical ban on media access to CBP border operations."
The White House has said that it is limiting media access to border facilities in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus but that hasn't stopped the spread of coronavirus as there have been at least 50 cases detected.
Useless White House press secretary Jen Psaki said on Monday that the Biden administration is aiming to finalize details on how the media can access border facilities like the one in Donna, Texas. They are possibly going to mandate masks that do not simply go over the mouth and nose of reporters, but also cover a very susceptible area of the body known as the eyes.
