The breach of the Capitol and Senate Chamber last Wednesday was disgusting and unconscionable. Conservatives are consistent in that belief, while leftists forgave the rioters over the summer who burned, looted and destroyed private property and businesses and also causing grave bodily harm to many individuals.
What happened Wednesday, however, ought never to happen again.
One guy from Tennessee, an alleged rioter and insurrectionist who stormed the Capitol and entered the Senate Chamber had brought along plastic restraints, implying the possibility that he was planning to kidnap Senators and/or other personnel. He was ordered held in police custody Monday.
The Nashville anarchist in question, Eric Munchel, 30, known as the "zip tie guy," appeared before a federal judge, and was held without bond pending further hearings. He is one of two rioters who had restraints with them in the chaos going on around them in the Capitol building, where Trump supporters were rioting. The other rioter caught is Larry Rendell Brock who was arrested in Texas on Sunday.
Munchel faces charges of knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building on grounds without lawful authority, and one count of violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.
Since there was no kidnapping, he cannot be charged for that crime.
Eric Munchel is believed to be a man photographed [see above] carrying zip ties into the Senate Chamber during last week's riot, the FBI said. Prosecutors asked that he remain in custody pending extradition to Washington, D.C.
The FBI said photos of someone believed to be Munchel was carrying the restraints, an item in a holster on his right hip and a cellphone mounted to his chest with a camera facing outward.
"In my experience, flex cuffs are used by law enforcement to restrain and/or detain subjects," FBI agent Carlos Fontanez wrote in an affidavit.
Munchel has not been charged in connection with allegedly using the zip ties because he apparently didn't get the opportunity.
Law enforcement encountered Munchel at a Washington, D.C. hotel the day of the Capitol breach. They observed him carrying a "Taser Pulse," a device that emits electrical shock. He claimed he had it with him for self-protection at the Trump rally.
According to authorities, he attended the rally with a woman who was also pictured with him inside the Capitol, they said. Their relationship was not disclosed.
A hearing on Munchel's case is scheduled for today Tuesday.
"I want to remind you that it's very important that you communicate with them (attorneys) about your case. You need to speak openly and freely with them," U.S. Magistrate Judge Chip Frensley told him, according to the newspaper. "You don't talk to them and communicate with them, it's real hard for them to represent you. We have challenges in the COVID era, and they're going to work through those things, and I need to work with them so that they can do everything they can to represent you."

It is highly doubtful that Kamala Harris or any other Democrat will post bail for him if it is permitted after the hearing, as they did for Antifa and BLM thugs.
Stay tuned to this blog for more as the story develops--if they don't censor my free speech.
