Palestinian accidentally tries ramming Border Police

A slight fender-bender
Ramallah -- A Palestinian gentleman was arrested by Israeli Border Police after having a fender-bender in which undercover border police were somehow in the path of his vehicle being hastily driven in their direction as he prayed, which may have distracted him. He was heard to be enthusiastically saying "Allahu akbar," or "Allah is greater."

The young man rammed into an armored vehicle and was neutralized. He was then transferred to a hospital in serious condition. The armored vehicle was heavily damaged, but no police were injured by the gentleman.

Prior to the unfortunate incident with the accidental ramming of the armored vehicle, the undercover border police officers had gone into the al-Am'ari refugee camp near Ramallah where they arrested two wanted people for their affiliation with terrorist groups and involvement in terrorist activities.

As they finished the operations, the gentleman's vehicle charged the police in what they believed to be an alleged attempt to run over them over.

The car crashed hard into the police's armored vehicle whereupon the gentleman was seen driving suspiciously and holding what was later revealed to be a knife, possibly due to the fact that it was the dinnertime hour.

The driver, a resident of Jerusalem in his 20's, was seriously injured and transferred to the Shaarei Tzedek Hospital, where he was medically treated by Jewish staff. Had the driver been Jewish and had this happened on the Palestinian side, he may have not survived due to [religious] complications.

After the poor driving, disturbances broke out in the area. Rocks and Molotov cocktails were thrown at the border police who responded with riot control measures. The crowd was obviously angered over Israel's use of armored vehicles that have an unfair advantage over Honda Civics in "accidents."

"Any attempt to harm Border Police officers will be met with a quick, determined response by the officers who work day and night to thwart terror and guard the safety of the citizens of Israel," said the Israel Police spokesperson in a statement.
