Top Dems defend Omar's 9/11 comment: 'I saw nothing wrong with it'

A pair of Democratic House chairmen defended Rep. Ilhan "Allahu Akbar" Omar's (D-MN) sloughing off the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks that killed nearly 3,000 Americans. It was the worst terrorist attack in US history and Omar described it as "some people did something."

Since Omar was slammed over the trivializing of the attack, she and the Democrats played the victim card and some like Reps. Jerry "Dancing Eyebrows" Nadler (D-NY) and Bennie Thompson(D-MS) came to her defense claiming that there was nothing wrong with her statement. Ironically, both men are native English speakers and still had trouble understanding the problem.

Omar made the speech at fundraiser for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) when describing her fellow Muslims as potential victims of retaliation for the 9/11 attacks. She falsely claimed that CAIR was formed after the attacks to protect the civil liberties of Muslims.

Actually, CAIR was formed in 1994 and is an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trials regarding the covert funding of Hamas.
Some people doing something
Omar claimed that Muslims saw their civil liberties being infringed upon and referred to the attack as "some people did something." Rather than slamming the perpetrators for the attack, she congratulated CAIR for how they allegedly responded to the fantasy of retaliation [which never happened.]

After the video of Omar's outrageous verbiage went viral, Republicans and some Democrats in Congress voiced their disgust at Omar's latest garbage comment.

President Trump tweeted out a video of Omar's comments followed by footage of the airplanes flying into the Twin Towers and then the towers collapsing, sparking outrage from Democrats who believed criticism of Omar's comment was "inciting violence" against her.

That's kind of like Islamists who spout outrage for quoting the Koran and how it justifies anti-Semitism and war.

Thompson and Nadler appeared on ABC and CNN, where they defended her comment and pushed back against Trump's tweet.

"I saw the speech she gave and I saw nothing wrong with it," a low functioning Thompson said. "I saw the president's manufactured tweet where he put pieces in there, but George, we are a nation of laws, a democracy, free speech is here. I saw nothing wrong with the Congresswoman's speech."

Thompson also saw nothing wrong with her anti-Semitic comments about how the Jews "hypnotized" the world or how American Jews have "dual allegiance" to the US and Israel--not to mention "the Benjamins."

ABC's This Week host and former Bill Clinton operative George Stephanopoulos was not satisfied with Thompson's answer, pressing him further.

"You say you saw nothing wrong with it, but she did characterize the most deadly attack ever on American soil– terrorist attack ever on American soil, a cold-blooded mass murder as ‘some people did something,' Stephanopoulos said. "That does seem to downplay the importance of what happened on 9/11, doesn't it?"

"No question about it. We had over 3,000 people who got killed at that event, so nothing to downplay on it, but, again, she spoke to it," Thompson said. "I think the president is just seizing that moment, manufacturing what he said and then moving forward with a traditional speech, so I think there are other issues we have to deal with in this country."

No, for this one I give Trump all the kudos he deserves. He, like all patriotic Americans, are appalled by Omar's dismissive depiction of the attack. This was by no means a mistake or her misspeaking. It was clearly carefully crafted words to take the onus off the "religion of peace."

CNN's State of the Union host Jake Tapper asked Nadler whether he took issue with Omar's 9/11 comment, prompting him to say that he had no problem with what she said because he is a schmuck. Nadler, as a secular Jew, isn't even affected by Omar's anti-Semitism because he believes she doesn't include him in her hatred.

"No, I did not," Nadler said. "She characterized it only in passing. She was talking about discrimination against Muslim Americans and she just said after that happened it was used as an excuse for lots of discrimination and with withdrawal of civil liberties. I've had some problems with some of her other remarks, but not with that one."

The fool that Nadler proved himself to be enables people who hate Western values, as Omar does, to say whatever they want with total impunity. It's one of those intersectional advantages certain groups have over others.
