BREAKING: Broward Deputy knew the shooter was inside the school

DEVELOPING: The Daily Wire reports that on Thursday, internal radio dispatches released by Broward County Sheriff's Office revealed that the Broward Deputy Scot Peterson did indeed hear gunshots coming from inside the school, in direct contradiction to what was originally stated by Peterson's lawyer, Joseph DiRuzzo III, last month.

He claimed Peterson thought the shots were coming from outside the building.

So like the students who did all they could for the sake of self-preservation, Peterson apparently stayed outside until he believed the danger subsided.

The internal radio dispatches released by the sheriff's office Thursday clearly show the deputy fixated on Building 12 and also radioed that gunfire was taking place "inside."

When the [school shooter] fled the building after he killed 17 people, the cowardly deputy warned his fellow officers to stay away while in the meantime, the wounded who may have survived if they had gotten help, bled out and died.

"Do not approach the 12 or 1300 building; stay at least 500 feet away," Peterson said over the radio.

Jeff Bell, president of the Broward Sheriff's Office police union said that "[The audio] certainly backs up that he never went into the school. At one point he says to keep back 500 feet. Why would he say that?"

At 2:23 p.m. the deputy Peterson radioed: "Be advised we have possible, could be firecrackers. I think we have shots fired, possible shots fired--1200 building."

The Herald reported that at that time Peterson arrived at building 12, he remained there for several more minutes until the shooting stopped.

"We're talking about the 1200 building--it's going to be the building off Holmberg Road. Get the school locked down, gentlemen," Peterson said soon after arriving at building 12.

By 2:27 p.m. the shooting stopped and the shooter ditched his weapon and ran out with the other students in order to blend with the crowd. It was about "Five seconds later, Peterson radioed for officers to 'stay at least 500 feet away at this point.' The dispatcher repeated, "Stay away from 12 and 1300 building."

This was truly the biggest law enforcement screwup in modern history. From neglecting the warning signs in the hands of the Broward County Sheriff's Office and the FBI, to minimizing the seriousness of the shooter's mental status and saying he was no danger to self or others.

Even when he called and said he was a danger, it was not taken seriously.

And when the shooting began, Deputy Peterson failed to do his job. The school's football coach had more guts than the entire Broward County Sheriff's Office.

Yet the kids at the school have been led to believe the fault somehow lies with the NRA.
