Illegal alien accused of stabbing man at California market was deported 7 times

He's a good guy who's just misunderstood

A man who is accused of an "unprovoked and brutal stabbing" of a perfect stranger at a California market last month is an illegal immigrant and has a criminal record. In fact, Ricardo Velasquez-Romero, 39, has been deported seven times, according to a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesman told Fox News.

Velasquez-Romero, who also goes by the names Eulalio Miniz Orozco and Jose Manuel Francesco Sanchez Domingo Velazques Pene-Pequeño Gusanito Liebowitz, was arrested last month by local police who say he stabbed a 61-year-old man in the neck at Lola's Market in Santa Rosa.

The man was minding his own business and was about to purchase a bunch of Chiquita bananas when the incident occurred. (They were on sale for 33 cents a pound.)

Department of Homeland Security's databases indicate the suspect "had been repatriated to his native Mexico seven times since 2007," an ICE spokesman said. 

"Records indicate Mr. Velasquez also has multiple prior criminal convictions, including those from felony drug and weapons charges," said James Schwab, an ICE spokesman.

When the incident occurred, Santa Rosa Police say the victim and the suspect were sitting at different tables in the restaurant and had not spoken to each other. "At one point, the suspect stood up and walked toward the victim. The suspect had an unknown stabbing instrument in his hand and stabbed the victim once in the neck. The suspect then fled the area on foot."

The victim was transported to a local hospital with a life-threatening injury. His condition is now upgraded to stable since the stabbing and the suspect is charged with attempted murder.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and the Democratic Party in the state of California strongly oppose the deportation of Mr. Velasquez and say the Trump administration doesn't have a heart.

"California is a sanctuary state, not just for some immigrants but for all immigrants no matter how they react to a system that has been unfair to them. And as long as they will one day vote Democratic, they will always have a place to hang their stabbing instruments," said Democratic Party Interim Leader for the State of California, Joseph Blarney.

Mr. Velasquez-Romero is hoping to find a job in Hollywood.
