Israeli jets struck Iranian military base in Syria

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) attacked an Iranian military base in Syria in the area of al-Kiswah early Saturday morning, launching surface-to-surface rockets from the Golan Heights.

The Israel Air Force (IAF) fired missiles at the military base. Israel has not confirmed nor denied the strike, but they had made it clear in the past that if Iran sets up shop in Syria, they aren't going to sit by and wait to be slaughtered.

I call it the "Trump North Korea Approach."

One month ago, the BBC reported alleged Iranian activity at the site. It published satellite photos of construction work that took place from January to October 2017, including 20 structures that could be used as barracks and storage. It is believed the base is not yet manned.

This last strike was the second one in three months that Israel has allegedly struck Iranian military assets inside Syria. On September 7, it is believed the IAF hit a missile production facility.

Let's hope they didn't miss.

Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman and Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Gadi Eisenkot have been warning against Iranian entrenchment in southern Syria. Eisenkot told a Saudi website last month, "We will not accept the Iranians entrenching themselves in Syria. We warned them against building factories or military bases there, and we will not permit that."

Israel doesn't take kindly to countries that say they want to destroy them.
