Nevada 'professor' blames Trump for Vegas massacre

The Democrats and leftists are so predictable that you had to know at least one of them was going to find a way to blame the Las Vegas massacre on President Trump.

A university professor in Las Vegas was secretly filmed in class this week and said that President Trump deserves some of the blame for the massacre. She said that because "all he's done" is "encourage violence."

"Right when he got elected, I told my classes, three semesters ago, that some of us won't be affected by this presidency, but others are going to die," UNLV history professor Tessa Winkelmann said Thursday. "Other people will die because of this, and we've seen this happen, right?"

So it wasn't just Stephen Paddock who was responsible for killing 58 and injuring almost 500 others at the Route 91 Harvest Festival concert, it was also Donald Trump.

In Winkelmann's logic, Trump is responsible for the violence perpetrated by Antifa and the KKK because somehow he's to blame because he's white, and he's rich, and he's a Republican (or claims to be).

The professor cited Trump's comments in which he threatened military action against North Korea saying that "words, especially if they're coming from someone who is the president, have consequences."

But hopefully not hers, I suspect she thinks.

For all of Trump's narcissism and showboating, he is the first president to scare the crap out of North Korea. They saw Obama as a weak wordsmith whose rhetoric was laughable and all they did was grow a nuclear program that threatens Japan, South Korea, Guam and now the U.S. mainland. Trump was able to get China and Russia to sanction the hermit nation where other presidents failed.

At least he has 'Lard Bod' Kim worrying what will happen if he keeps going in this direction because Trump is probably seen by him as crazy enough to blow the crap out of his little schtick.

Winkelmann went on: "I don't know that these events would have inevitably happened whether or not he got elected, but he has rhetorical powers every president has to encourage or to discourage," she said, referring to the massacre. "So far all he's done is to encourage violence."

The Las Vegas Review-Journal first obtained the video by the student, who told them that Winkelmann's comments polarized the classroom and students began shouting at each other.

Had one of them pulled a gun and started shooting the Trump supporters, should we blame Winkelmann for the carnage? Would she accept blame?

UNLV spokesman Tony Allen said of her remarks:
"While we respect academic freedom in the classroom and the right to free speech, we believe the comments were insensitive, especially given the series of events this week and the healing process that has begun in the community."
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders also commented on the professor's attack on the president:
"It is sad she is teaching students such divisive, inaccurate and irresponsible rhetoric. She should be ashamed of herself, and the university should look into it. What a terrible example to set for students."
Winkelmann expressed regret about her stupid comments to the newspaper and she apparently blamed it on the high emotional level running through the community.
"This week has been very difficult for members of our community, and we have allowed students space in our classes to discuss how they have been affected and to openly convey their feelings. I regret that my comments caused more pain during this difficult time. Emotions were running high and I wish I would have been more thoughtful in how I directed the conversation."
But I always thoughtthat it was emotions that was the lodestar of all their decisions.
