FBI denies FOIA request on Hillary due to lack of interest

The FBI is declining a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request on Hillary Clinton files related to her email scandal. The reason for the denial, they say, is due to lack of public interest on the matter.

Since when does the public interest have anything to do with an agency requesting public information?

Ty Clevenger, a New York City attorney, filed a FOIA request in March 2016 asking for specific documents from the FBI and Department of Justice. The information was to include correspondence exchanged with Congress about the Clinton email investigation.

So the FBI evidently sat on their hands long enough for the story to blow over, and in a letter sent this week the head of the FBI's Records Management Division told Clevenger that the FBI has "determined you have not sufficiently demonstrated that the public's interest in disclosure outweighs personal privacy interests of the [royal] subject."

"Therefore, records regarding your subject are withheld pursuant to FOIA exemptions," David M. Hardy (Democrat) of the FBI's Records Management Division told Clevenger.

Perhaps it's time for people to go on social media and raise a commotion about the FOIA request. Maybe someone could write a petition to the White House like someone did to petition that Antifa be declared a terrorist group.

Maybe, if you agree that the situation regarding Hillary Clinton's emails on her illegal email server need deeper scrutiny, you can retweet this post and/or email it to a friend who can also retweet it, and this can demonstrate to the FBI that the public is indeed interested in justice for Clinton.

But if you don't decide to retweet or email this post, you can at the very least click on the sponsors here and proudly show the world who you support.
