Hampton was indicted by a grand jury this month on a third-degree felony charge--bringing drugs onto government facility grounds.
The charge can land the lovely lass up to three years in the 'slammer' if she's convicted.
Hampton was served a search warrant when she arrived at the prison on May 26, when she came to visit Kelly. They had listened to previously recorded phone calls from the Ohio State Highway Patrol and said they had enough evidence to obtain the warrant for a cavity search, and they had more volunteers to do the search than prison personnel.
She was questioned by officers when she reached into a pant leg and pushed a white balloon onto the floor, according to the affidavit.
This move is known as a "good try."
It was found that Hampton was carrying almost 3 grams of marijuana, said Assistant Allen County Prosecutor Kenneth Sturgill to the Courier-Journal.
The young lovely was indicted July 13 by an Allen County grand jury and faces one count of "illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse onto the ground of a specific government facility" and her scheduled arraignment will be July 26.
Hampton was crowned Miss Kentucky USA in November 2010 at the age of 21 and was the first black woman chosen to represent the state in the Miss USA pageant.
