The Bad Guys Defeat the Other Bad Guys

Sunday-- Assad's Syrian forces with the help of Putin's airstrikes, have recaptured Palmyra from Daesh terrorists (aka ISIS, ISIL, Islamic State, and whatever else they come up with).

The weak-chinned leader's forces have been on the attack there for almost three weeks to recapture what ISIS took back in last May. This victory at Palmyra has saved a town whose 2,000 year old ruins had been a huge tourist trap of the country, attracting thousands of visitors each year.

ISIS has not been doing so well of late, especially after this setback. Beheadings are down, immolations have gone cold, and many of the men in black are feeling depressed, as if Allah has let them down.

The Syrian advance is the latest of ISIS setbacks coming in Iraq and Syria, and President for Life Assad lisped that the offensive had been a "significant achievement."

Isn't it interesting that dictatorial killers like Bashar al-Assad and Ernesto Che Guevara were both medical practitioners? Must have had their fill of the "helping professions" and tried the opposite approach.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, based at a relatively safer location in Coventry, England confirmed the recapture of Palmyra and that about 400 Muslim jihadists were killed, according to Sky News.

Syrian state TV reported that the overthrow of Daesh offered "new evidence of the effectiveness of the strategy espoused by the Syrian army and its allies in the war against terrorism."

But Allen West and others have said that you can't have a war on terrorism because you'd be having a war on a strategy. It's a war on people,  and they are Islamic jihadists who take their Koran seriously--not with the proverbial grain of salt like the non-violent Muslims do.

"That's the heaviest losses that ISIS has sustained in a single battle since its creation," Rami Abdel Rahman of the Observatory said. "It is a symbolic defeat for ISIS comparable with that in Kobani."

Russian jets flew 40 sorties around Palmyra and struck 158 targets which killed 100 dark souls belonging to the ISIS scumcrumpets. The airstrikes have helped Syria and have done more to confront the war on the Islamic State than all the strong words Barack Hussein Obama has thrown at them whenever he believes he must in order to pacify the patriots.

Syrian state TV interrupted its regular programming of the "Homs Shopping Channel" to feature a documentary about Palmyra and its famous archeological sites. Earlier programming aired national songs as well as videos released by ISIS showing their horrific acts of violence in Syria and Iraq, all in the name of Allah, aka Mohammad.

One TV reporter spoke live (for now) from Palmyra pointing out Syrian troops in the center of town and showing some of the building reduced to rubble, causing some viewers to make comments such as: "This place looks like Detroit."

When ISIS first took Palmyra, they began to demolish some of the more famous monuments because, according to Islam, ancient ruins promote idolatry. Ant idolatry is worse than killing your daughter for listening to music or becoming Kosher.

ISIS used Palmyra's ancient amphitheater to stage public executions, including the beheading of the (former) Palmyra antiquities chief. They also tore down Tadmur prison where thousands of Syrian government opponents had been tortured by old "Weak Chin."
