Ban Ki-moon and Kumbayah

Ban the Builder
The United Nations chief wants everybody to chill out when it comes to fighting violent extremism.

Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon asks that the nations of the world respond to violent jihad (which he refers to as violent extremism) with "cool heads and common sense."

He warns that we not respond with "mindless policies" that might actually kill the enemy because all they do is hurt the feelings of ISIS and make them even madder at us.

The U.N. headless said that "mindless policies" turn people against each other, alienate marginalized groups [like maybe the Jews?] and play into the hands of the enemy (aka Islamic State).

Ban said the new plan to prevent violent extremism, such as beheadings of journalists and others who don't follow Islam the way they say you should, or the burning of people alive, such as the captured Jordanian pilot, need all 193 member states to address the causes of violent extremism, listen to people's grievances, and make sure human rights and due process aren't trampled on.

Ban Ki-moon said that governments mustn't forget that "terrorist groups are not just seeking to unleash violent action, but to provoke a harsh reaction."

So what he's saying is that we shouldn't give them what they want. We should treat them nicely and they'll leave us alone.

It is becoming increasingly difficult to believe that the people who are leading the world aren't graduates from Gump Academy.
