We're all like battered spouses of Islam

It's almost laughable, if it weren't so serious, how the media and the authorities haven't a clue as to the motive of 18-year-old Faisal Mohammad when he did his best to stab as many infidels as he could on the campus of the University of California--Merced last week.

He had a manifesto where he pledged to pray to Allah and behead one victim--the new "jihad cool" way to gain Allah's love.

In spite of the fact that the investigation is over, no family member came to claim Faisal's body, nor have they spoken to the public about his Muslim faith. But the media, including Fox News, seems perplexed about the motivation behind the attack.

The Merced County Sheriff, Vern Marnke, said "I met with the FBI Saturday night and turned over copies of all evidence we've collected to that agency and the UC Merced police department. As far as any further investigation into any outside influence, the FBI will be handling that from now on."

Luckily, Mohammad was not a very good jihadist--all of his intended victims will live: two students, a construction worker (who was quite heroic at the scene) and a female staff member. Yes, Mohammad was a screw-up for Allah. But more accurately, Mohammad was a screw-up for Mohammad, the so-called prophet of the religion of peace.

In the loser's backpack were two pages of handwritten notes, detailing his plans in a numbered order that was as confusing as the numbering of the chapters in the Koran in terms of the timeline when it was written by a scribe for the prophet of Islam, since he was illiterate.

If there is any doubt that this was an Islam-motivated attack, think again. As per Sheriff Warnke, Faisal's notes read:  "No. 27 'make sure people are tied down.' No. 28 was 'sit down and praise Allah.' Warnke added, "I remember seeing four or five times, scribbled on the side of the two page manifesto, where he wrote something like 'praise Allah.' There was a gruesome statement he made about wanting to cut someone's head off."

And even after all this, law enforcement thinks this guy was not radicalized. They think it had to do with him being kicked out of a study group, where a girl rejected Faisal's advances and her boyfriend kicked him out of the group.

Okay, this was quite likely what triggered the violence, but it was merely the catalyst to the underlying permission his religion gives him to attack infidels. The real problem is, we, as a society, tend to act like a battered spouse and pretend it's our fault.
