Ottawa, Ontario: an Ottawa imam while denouncing the Paris attack at the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo, said that religious cartoons of religious leaders should be illegal. He claimed "Of course we defend freedom of speech," but that's like saying "If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor." It's a lie.
The imam, Imtiaz Ahmed (not the "I weel keel you" Ahmed, this is the other guy) is with the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. He believes that it should be against the law to depict religious figures, including those who rape, murder, torture and commit both pedophilia and necrophilia, in a derogatory way. In other words, don't do cartoons of Muhammad or you will go to prison where Islam is the religion of preference among many who seek protection, and they weel keel you on the inside.
He stated: "Of course we defend freedom of speech, but it has to be balanced. There has to be a limit. There has to be a code of conduct." And Ahmed would like to be the guy who determines what that limit is.
He added: "We believe that any kind of vulgar expression about any sacred person of any religion does not constitute freedom of speech in any way at all." He did not add, "except for the Jews, who are descended from apes, according to the Koran."
In his thinking, there should be limits on freedom of speech to keep publications from printing offensive material. He seems to be unaware of the reason for freedom of speech, which is that freedom to speak or print that which people don't necessarily like to hear or read. That's a freedom that is not given to us by our laws, that is freedom we are born with and our lawmakers have the job to uphold this unalienable right.
He used the Holocaust as an example stating that some members of the public denounce those who say the Holocaust never happened. Of course, he does not go on to talk about Hitler's grand mufti who was one of the inspirations for Der Fuhrer to destroy all the Jews, or Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the previous Islamic President of Iran who led the charge behind the Holocaust deniers.
I cannot say with certainty what kind of imam this dude is, but when you pray about 17 times a day for the damnation of the Jews as the lead prayer before the suras, this guy very likely does not take Christians and Jews as friends, like it prescribes in the Koran. "We don't want the Jewish community to be hurt by these sentiments," he claims.
Imam Ahmed said the cartoons of Muhammad by Charlie Hebdo is offensive and based on lies that have "hijacked the religion of Islam." He has even claimed that "There's not a single verse of the Prophet that allows a Muslim to take the law in his own hand and commit horrific crimes against humanity."
But he must have forgotten what Mo said to his army: "Whoever curses a Prophet, kill him. Whoever curses my Companions, beat him."
Mo even allows for Muslims to lie (taqiyya) in order to get what is needed to further Islam. He asked: "Who is willing to kill Ka'b bin Al-Ashraf who has hurt Allah and His Apostle?" (That'd be Mo). One of his men answered: "O Allah's Apostle! Would you like that I kill him?" Mo said that he would love that. Then bin Maslama said, "Then allow me to say a (false) thing (to deceive Kab)." Mo responded; "You may say it." He did not add: "Just make it look like an accident." So Muhammad bin Maslama lied to Ka'b and lured him into a trap, and murdered him (Bukhari 5.59.369)
So we can see from this little tale that Muhammad had skin as thin as Obama's.
The there's the case of the Jewish woman who used to verbally abuse Mo. A man killed her by strangling her to death. "The Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) declared that no recompense was payable for her blood." (Sunan Abu-Dawud 38.4349)
So imam Ahmed is not being totally honest with us--Mo was cool on killing when anyone insulted him or the moon god, Allah. I bet he was counting on us not to read that stuff on our own. Oh yeah, that's called taqiyya.
