Lone Survivor Briefly Reviewed

I don't get out much but when I learned "Lone Survivor" came to a theater near me, I knew I had to see it instead of having to wait two years for it to come to Netflix.

The socialist, America-hating, gun-control advocating, everybody-gets-a-trophy, it takes a village, loose-wristed, hypocritical, share-your-wealth, liberals, claims this movie is a propaganda tool for the military. I disagree. It's a propaganda tool for sacrifice and America. It's a tool for patriotism--a concept the left hates. If it were up to them, they'd have the United Nations dictating our policies, much like Obama is currently doing so.

Is "Lone Survivor" a great movie? Yes, unless you're dating Janeane Garofalo, and if you are, this blog probably isn't for you. Does this movie glorify the Navy SEALs? No, the SEALs do that without any help.

My wife came with me to see the flick and while this is clearly not a "chick flick," she liked it overall, but had to take her eyes off the screen at times. My wife is an "ex-Muslim," or an apostate, which is the actual term. She is very much aware about the horrors of this geopolitical "religion." She said that the bearded Taliban in the movie reminded her of a time she spent in Kashmir, where Islam is the center of their universe and jihad is their plan.

The movie is about 2 hours long but it moves quickly. The acting is excellent--Mark Wahlberg is spot on. The story is amazing and the heroism is so palpable you almost think it's fiction.

I don't do movie reviews but I had to say something about this movie. I highly recommend it--finally you can be proud to be an American instead of being ashamed of our president.

My latest novel, Jihad Joe, is about Islamic terrorism and suspense.  In it I challenge the precepts of the religion through my protagonist, Zed Nill, a journalist, captured by terrorists and who is destined to be killed if the American President refuses to release three Gitmo prisoners.  Of course, American policy demands we never give in to terrorists, and for Zed, the clock is ticking.
