Beheading in Brazil Over Soccer Game: Obama Doesn't Take Sides

Brazilian soccer referee Otavio Jordan da Silva de Catanhede, 20, got into what turned out to be a rather heated argument with soccer player Linda dos Santos Abreau, 31. It resulted first, in Abreau being ejected from the game, then the two of them getting into a physical altercation, then Jordan pulling a knife and stabbing the player who died en route to hospital. By the way, Linda was a dude (pictured left).

Abreau's friends and family (in other words, his free cell phone call people) ran out onto the pitch, tied up Jordan and stoned him to death. As if that weren't enough, these messengers of piece, quartered him and someone in the crowd cut off his head, put it on a stake midfield of the pitch.

Brazilian police arrested Luis Matias de Sousa (no relationship to John Phillips Sousa) and currently are looking for two more Sousas (also no relation to John), after Luis fingered his family.

We don't simply yell or punch each other out anymore; that isn't enough. Now people have to get so horribly violent so that they can properly vent while their neighbors video the venting and beheading so they can get lots of hits on YouTube. Society seems to have devalued human life and put it into the same category as meat.

As is his habit, Obama supported both the referee and the family, but John Kerry wasn't around for comment.
