Trayvon Martin's attorneys are calling for the arrest of George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch captain who shot the seventeen year old in what he calls self defense. In fact, one lawyer, on Fox's Hannity, said that they heard Zimmerman breathing when he made the phone call to the police, and that this is evidence showing Zimmerman needs to be brought to justice. Don't ask me how this makes sense, but this is how the attorney explained it.
Racism is alive and well in America--it's the bread and butter of the left. Never mind that there are signficantly more black on white murders in this country, or that the Department of Justice has done nothing to assuage the situation when the New Black Panthers put a million dollar bounty on Zimmerman's head, or that media sluts like racist Al Sharpton have only made matters worse for their own gain. Liberals are using this moment to distract from our nation's real problems: the economy, employment problems, high fuel costs, and Obamacare, not to mention the corruption we have at the very top of our government.
The biggest mistake, as I see it, is that Republicans have fallen into the trap, as they always do, of getting involved with this idiotic agenda. Why are they bothering to make the point that there are two sides to the Trayvon story? Anyone with a brain should know that. Anyone with eyes knows that the media is dressing up the story to show Trayvon as an innocent twelve year old child with a smile like an angel. The photos they are using is the evidence of this. But aside from that evidence, the public has no idea of what the facts are. Zimmerman is not some white guy who shot a black kid. He's an Hispanic/White man and there is also some family ties to black relatives. In fact, Zimmerman has participated in after school tutelage of black kids in the neighborhood.
Look, I'm not saying Zimmerman is innocent. What I'm saying is that I don't know and neither does anyone else besides Zimmerman, at this point. I am also saying that the media has become too powerful in this country. It has lost its impartiality and is now an opinion center for the left. It is a propaganda machine, not unlike the propaganda machine of the Soviet Union of the 1950s and 60s. When the majority of young people get their "news" from The Daily Show, and the left controls all media save Fox, and liberals call for voices on the right to be silenced, we have lost our perspective; we are in trouble.
George Zimmerman may very well be guilty of what the left is saying about him. But the rule of law is what made our nation great. When Spike Lee gave out Zimmerman's address (which was actually bogus and belonged to two elderly people), the message to the public was to seek revenge and take the law into their own hands. The New Black Panthers did the same. The DoJ has done nothing to stop this because those involved are black and the DoJ does nothing when blacks are involved; at least it certainly seems that way.
We have met the enemy and it is us.
