Buxom daughter of senior Islamic Republic of Iran leader fired from Emory Medical School

Fatemeh Ardeshir-Larijani and her teeth

Ali Larijani sits at the heart of Iran's top leadership. He enforces the brutal crackdown on protesters that has now claimed at least 36,500 lives and left 330,000 wounded. He rails against the Great Satan, America, and even more fiercely against the Little Satan, Israel. Just two weeks ago he claimed the only people on the streets in Iranian cities were Mossad agents. He also blamed Trump for the protests, because Trump and the Jews obviously run the world and all that happens in it.

An Iranian defector has called Larijani the mastermind behind the massacre of protesters. See more in "Ali Larijani Masterminded the Massacre says Former Official," IranWire, January 18, 2026:

According to a former Islamic Republic official, speaking to IranWire through a traveler, Ali Larijani, the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, has been at the center of the January 2026 crackdown. The source says Larijani is positioning himself for the post-Khamenei era, using his close ties with IRGC commanders and intelligence agencies, along with his family's connections to senior clerics, to build support across different factions and prepare to lead the system after Khamenei's death.

Larijani hails from a powerful clerical dynasty. His father, Mirza Hashem Amoli, was a prominent Shia Grand Ayatollah and a key figure at the Qom Seminary before the Revolution. His eldest brother, Mohammad Javad Larijani, served as a senior diplomat and Deputy Foreign Minister. His younger brother, Sadeq Larijani, is a seminary professor in Qom and a former Chief Justice of the Islamic Republic. Sadeq is often named as a potential successor to Khamenei.

Ali Larijani was naturally delighted when his daughter, the plump and pampered offspring of the regime's sinister elite, landed a teaching position at a U.S. medical school. Iranian exiles have long complained that the children of their oppressors study in the West, with tuition and living costs covered by funds their fathers stole from Iran's treasury. Then these same children secure jobs in the West as post-grads. They are the golden youth of Iran's nomenklatura. Now the daughter of this same Ali Larijani, one of Iran's worst non-clerical killers, has lost her teaching job at Emory Medical School. More details on her justified dismissal appear in "Daughter of top Iranian official who led regime crackdown fired from US medical school," Times of Israel, January 25, 2026:

The daughter of a top Iranian official has been dismissed from employment at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, following US sanctions on her father in the wake of the Iranian regime's brutal crackdown on protesters, according to the university’s newspaper Saturday.

Fatemeh Ardeshir-Larijani is the daughter of Ali Larijani, senior adviser to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and has served as assistant professor at Emory's medical school, teaching hematology and medical oncology at the prestigious southern US university.

"A physician who is the daughter of a senior Iranian government official is no longer an employee of Emory," said the university's Winship Cancer Institute, following requests for comment from media.

"Because this is a personnel matter, we are unable to provide additional information," an Emory spokesperson added.

Ardeshir-Larijani's dismissal from Emory came some two weeks after sanctions were placed on her father by the US Treasury Department, in response to his alleged role masterminding the regime’s crackdown on protests that rocked the country this month.

In announcement of the sanctions earlier this month, the treasury said that Ali Larijani "is responsible for coordinating the response to the protests on behalf of the Supreme Leader of Iran and has publicly called for Iranian security forces to use force to repress peaceful protesters."…

The US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency on Saturday put the death toll at 5,137, with the number expected to increase. More than 27,700 people have been arrested, it said. Those earlier figures on deaths and wounded have been overtaken by the latest estimates, accepted by Iran International, TIME journalists, and American analysts with sources among medical personnel in Iran. They conclude that at least 36,500 protesters have been killed, and 330,000 wounded, by the IRGC, the Basij, and the police.

Was it wrong to fire Larijani’s daughter? Is she just an innocent who should not pay for her father's crimes? No. She, her father, and the rest of the Iranian elite who torture and murder their opponents while ensuring their own families enjoy Western freedoms for study and even teaching are not innocent. We need to drive home to that elite that their children are no longer welcome in the West. Their fathers cannot keep slaughtering tens of thousands in Iran and expect their kids to face zero consequences.

Larijani’s daughter has lived as one of the most privileged children of the Iranian elite. Her father, once in the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps and head of regime security, now serves as secretary of the Supreme National Security Council and a key architect of the latest murderous crackdown. In the past month of bloodshed she could have spoken out against the regime.

She could have joined exile demonstrations here in America. She could have signed a protest letter. She did none of those things.

She has been fired from Emory. Now it is time to send Fatemeh Ardeshir-Larijani back to her country, where her murderous father and his ilk will welcome her. She has overstayed her welcome here long enough.

Turkey FM's Bizarre Charge: Mossad as Puppet-Master of Iran's Unrest, and Netanyahu's Supposed Hunger for Regional War

Turkish Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan has lately taken to the airwaves with a series of grave accusations against Israel, delivered in the measured yet insistent tone that has become his trademark. In an extended interview with Turkish television, he addressed the unfolding protests in Iran and the wider regional tensions they have exacerbated, directing his sharpest criticism at Jerusalem.

The minister contended that Israel, far from concealing its hand, is openly exploiting Iran’s internal difficulties, economic hardship above all, to undermine the Islamic Republic. "The Mossad is not hiding this," Fidan declared, referring to the protests. "They are calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the regime through their internet and Twitter accounts."

He drew a pointed contrast with earlier episodes of overt military confrontation, which, he observed, had the effect of rallying the Iranian public against external enemies. The present moment, he suggested, offers Israel a different and more insidious opportunity: to fan the flames of domestic discontent in the absence of active warfare.

Fidan went further, asserting that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu harbors a keen desire to ignite a broader military conflict across the region, though only, he insisted, with the explicit blessing of the United States. "Everyone knows Netanyahu has such a desire; it's no secret," the foreign minister said. He alleged that no such adventure would proceed without firm guarantees from Washington, and pointed to Netanyahu's late-December visit to the White House as part of an ongoing effort to secure that all-important "green light."

Turning to the deeper causes of unrest within Iran, Fidan acknowledged the punishing weight of economic sanctions endured for nearly three decades, a burden he described as severe and structural. The Iranian people, he noted, especially the younger generations, are dynamic and sophisticated, hungry for prosperity and opportunity. Yet the sanctions have imposed formidable obstacles, fueling recurring waves of protest, from the mass demonstrations of 2019 and 2023 to the more contained disturbances of today. While these grievances are genuine, he argued, they are now being manipulated by Iran’s adversaries.

"Alongside the authentic reasons for protest, there is clear external manipulation by Iran's adversaries," he said.

On the diplomatic plane, Fidan positioned Turkey as a proponent of dialogue, intent on shielding Iranian civilians from harm and urging negotiations to ease tensions between Tehran, Washington, and other Western capitals. He warned that the imposition of preconditions on talks serves only to isolate Iran further, while conveniently furnishing justification for potential Israeli military action. A negotiated settlement, he maintained, is essential for regional stability, and would strip away what he termed the "international cover" for any strike by Israel.

In closing, the minister conveyed a message from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Iran's leadership, calling on Tehran to turn the page in its relations with neighboring Arab states, to engage them with "genuine and sincere" intent, to set aside past grievances, and to shoulder its responsibilities toward the peoples of the region. He urged Iran to consider the possibilities of shared leadership in securing a more stable Middle East.

For his part, Israeli military analyst Alon Ben-David, writing recently in Maariv, took a cooler view of the Mossad's public interventions. He noted that a Persian-language account linked to the agency had tweeted at the outset of the unrest: "We are with you, the protesters, everywhere."

If you enjoy Brain Flushings and would like to subscribe or Buy Me a Coffee, and check out the sponsors on this page, I would appreciate it, as it supports my work and my coffee drinking habit. No pressure and subscribing is free.

Later, the same account asserted that "thousands of activists in the Basij militia and security forces have joined the protesters," a claim subsequently deleted. Ben-David attributed these messages to the Mossad's psychological operations unit, now under the deputy director identified only as "A," a former contender for the agency's top position. He judged the tweets a display of poor judgment, with the deletion suggesting at least some internal second thoughts. Israel, he concluded, would do better to conduct itself with greater discretion. "The Mossad would be better served by operating more discreetly and tweeting less."

Such restraint, one might observe, appears increasingly elusive in the fevered atmosphere of the contemporary Middle East.

Is This 70% Hezbollah Infiltration Claim Real? If So, It's Another Mossad Masterclass

Look, if this latest bombshell out of Lebanon holds up, Israel just dropped another intelligence nuke on its enemies that's straight out of a spy thriller, only better, because it's real life and the bad guys are the ones getting owned.

According to a fresh interview with Israel's N12 channel, an anonymous Hezbollah fighter is spilling the beans that Israeli infiltration has gone so deep it's almost comical. The guy claims a whopping 70% of the terror group's operatives are somehow "working with Israel." This means that nearly three-quarters of the rocket-slinging scumcrumpets who've been tormenting the Jewish state for decades might be on Team Mossad.

Here's the Hezbollah insider himself (via the Jerusalem Post): "We fear Israel will eliminate us, but it turns out that 70% of Hezbollah operatives work with Israel. Israel knows the name of every child here, their father, and their sister," he said. "Israel knows more about us than we know about ourselves.

"We still haven’t understood how Israel penetrates us this way," N12 quoted the operative as saying.

The chat went down near the northern border, close to the guy's village, whose house, by the way, got wrecked in last year's dust-up with the IDF. And get this: even after all that, he's cool with handing over his weapons if it means peace and getting back to normal life.

This isn't some isolated "oops" moment for the terror crowd. It reminds me of that epic own-goal in Iran, where the head of their special anti-Mossad unit turned out to be . . .  wait for it . . . an actual Israeli asset, along with about 20 of his buddies. Talk about failing upward.

If this 70% figure is anywhere close to accurate, and coming from a disgruntled Hezbollah guy, it's got that ring of bitter truth, it's yet another reminder that when it comes to intelligence ops, nobody does it like Israel.

Hezbollah's been reduced to paranoia central, wondering who's really on their side.

The terrorists wanted a forever war. Instead, they're getting a masterclass in why you don't poke the bear with the best spies on the planet.

Sardar Ammar: Iran's Plot-Twisting Bond Villain, Now Mossad's Most-Wanted Punchline

Sleeps with one eye open

Oh, Iran. Always auditioning for the role of Global Bad Guy in the never-ending spy thriller that's our world. They've been cooking up these half-baked murder schemes against Israelis and Jews like it's a twisted episode of Chopped, but with more keffiyehs and fewer decent knives.

And Mossad are the guys who are the Gordon Ramsay of counterterrorism, spotting the flops from a mile away and shutting 'em down before dessert. But now, the curtain's pulled back on the greasy chef himself: Sardar Ammar, some big-shot commander in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Israel just slapped his mugshot on every wanted poster from here to Tehran. If you're scoring at home, that's code for "sleep with one eye open, buddy."

More about Ammar can be found here: "Mossad names 'Sardar Ammar' as architect of Iranian plots in Australia, Greece, and Germany," by Amichai Stein, Jerusalem Post, October 26, 2025:

Israel's Mossad on Sunday publicly identified a senior Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) figure it says oversaw multiple foiled attacks against Israeli and Jewish targets worldwide in 2024–2025 and pointed to fresh diplomatic fallout, including Australia’s expulsion of Iran’s ambassador and Germany’s summoning of Tehran’s envoy

In a statement released via the Prime Minister's Office on behalf of the Mossad, the agency said it was "exposing for the first time" a network under Sardar Ammar, a senior IRGC commander operating under Esmail Qaani, the commander of the Quds Force, which it said directed attempts in Australia, Greece, and Germany. The Mossad described the modus operandi as "terror without Iranian fingerprints, high compartmentalization, recruitment of foreigners, use of criminals, and covert communications," adding that "thanks to intensive activity with partners in Israel and abroad, dozens of attack tracks were thwarted, saving many lives."The agency said Ammar’s mechanism "was directly responsible for the attempted attacks revealed in Greece, Australia, and Germany over the past year," alleging it sought to strike "Israeli and Jewish targets in Israel and abroad" but was repeatedly exposed, leading to "a wave of arrests."…

All those plots were epic fails, every one.

Australia, Greece, Germany, pick a continent, Iran botched it. Mossad sniffed 'em out like a bloodhound on espresso, tipped off the locals, and boom: perps in cuffs faster than you can say "extradition treaty." Down Under, it got so bad Canberra basically told Iran's ambassador to pack his hummus and go home, severing ties like a bad blind date. Over in Germany, they hauled the Iranian envoy in for a stern "talk," you know, the kind where you get the hairy eyeball and a not-so-subtle "don't make us do this again."

Oh, and that Danish stooge spying on Berlin's Jewish spots for the IRGC  is probably explaining himself to a very unamused judge right now.

For all his globe-trotting scheming, Sardar Ammar's hit rate is lower than whale poop. Zero successes. A big fat goose egg on the terror scoreboard. And now his name, face, and whole rap sheet are out there, courtesy of Mossad's "hey world, this guy's the problem" press release. After all that sneaky bull pucks, hiring lowlifes, ghosting communications like a flaky Tinder match, does anyone seriously think Israel's allow him a personal Netflix account and chill in some safe house forever? I doubt it. He's got a one-way ticket to the great plot twist in the sky. Or, as the ayatollahs might put it, "Allahu Akbar... wait, what was that shadow?"

Tick-tock, Sardar. Your sequel's getting canceled.

Iran accuses Israeli military of using the occult--can I get an LOL

Yeoh, buckle up, because Iran’s dropping some wild claims about Israel’s playbook in their 12-day war.

Abdollah Ganji, ex-boss of the IRGC’s mouthpiece Javan, took to X to spill the tea to his 150,000 crazed followers. The guy is out here saying Israel was straight-up summoning “the occult and supernatural spirits” to win the fight. Try not to laugh, you read that right: black magic and ghostbusters-level shenanigans. Iran International caught this gem on Friday, and it’s pure chaos, albeit of the laughable kind.

Ganji’s post on Wednesday was like something out of a sci-fi flick or just a bad joke.

He said, “After the recent war, a few sheets of paper were found on the streets of Tehran containing talismans with Jewish symbols.”

Say what? He’s doubling down, claiming that back in the Gaza war’s first year, word got out about Netanyahu chilling with "occult specialists." Like, Bibi’s out here holding séances or something? Ganji [not to be confused with ganja] even dragged the Supreme Leader into it, quoting him saying, "Hostile countries and Western and Hebrew intelligence services use occult sciences and jinn entities for espionage."

Grok 3 concept of a jinn

Jinn. Freaking jinn. You know, those shape-shifting, superpower-wielding spirits from folklore? Apparently, they’re Mossad’s new interns.

Mossad’s Farsi X account wasn’t having it. They clapped back on Tuesday with a savage, "Using drugs and talking to the jinn are not desirable traits for someone leading a country." Oof, shots fired. Then Waleed Gadban, Israel’s political advisor at the UN, jumped in, reposting Mossad’s burn with a cheeky, “Jinn, jinn are everywhere,” complete with a ghost emoji. I'm almost peeing.

So, Iran’s out here accusing Israel of weaponizing the supernatural, while Israel’s like, "Bruh, lay off the hookah." This is peak 2025 geopolitics, and I’m just here for the popcorn, and maybe a talisman or two.

Latest Israel-Iran situation

The ceasefire between Israel and Iran may be officially ending, while in reality, Israel continues to attack the terrorist nation with drones.

Iranian airspace remains closed, in spite of the so called ceasefire.

Israel Katz, the Defense Minister, ordered the IDF to prepare for a long-term action Iran, including the stopping of nuclear programs, ballistic missiles and their terror support for their proxies. He said, "Operation Rising Lion was only the preview. After October 7th, immunity is now over."

The ceasefire is in name only, it appears as Mossad spies are still in Tehran and in other Iranian cities.

Iran's leaders, including Khamenei are still in hiding, even though he came out of his hole to declare Iran the victor in the war. That's laughable.

Assassination attempts are still ongoing and it looks like the leaders do not love death more than we love life.

However, while the two countries are not in a real ceasefire, things had toned down, but now the IDF is preparing once again for an all-out fight in the next few weeks. The plan is, with the help of the USA, to control humanitarian aid, to capture the remaining leaders, control Gaza and rebuild it.

In the western part of Tehran, the air defense was activated again and was under attack.

So not only is Iran not winning the war, they have also banned the IAEA and say that they are going to go ahead a do whatever they want with their nuclear program. This makes one wonder whether President Trump will get those B-2 bombers in the air again.

Israel, of course, sees what Iran is planning to do as a serious threat and will likely not sit on their hands.

Meanwhile, Iran held a mass funeral in Tehran for several top 60 Mohammeds and nuclear officials who have been eliminated by Israel while during the funeral they yelled their usual nonsense of death to America, and death to Israel.

The place stank like a city cesspool.

Latest info on Iran-Israel war

As of now, we know that Mossad has eliminated 14 nuclear scientists. Most of these were direct successors of the initial nuclear weapons program.

Putin told any Russians in Iran must leave now. Trump already made that announcement to Americans.

There is a massive flood in Tehran as a water infrastructure has been hit and power plants have also been hit. The city is flooding and the lights are going to be out, apparently.

Over the last few hours there have been mass evacuations in the capital as people whose goal at this time is not to die, flee the city. The IDF gave the citizens an early warning asking them to leave because Israel does its best not to kill non-combatants.

Isfahan is being hit by ballistic missiles in Isfahan as this is being written.

The Justice Ministry has ironically been destroyed by the IDF so they aren't taking any phone calls anytime soon. This department had been responsible for putting many of Iran's citizens to death, for such things that American leftists do reflexively, or with how they identify.

Intelligence Headquarters

We have just learned the President Donald Trump does not want Israel to eliminated the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, possibly because when all is said and done, the guy kind of looks Jewish . . . or is it a fake left?

This is not what Trump wants to see happen

Also gone but not forgotten is the IRGC Intelligence HQ. The head and deputy head of intel have been eliminated along with the building's snack bar.

The greater Tehran police headquarters, the main HQ for the country, has also been destroyed. [See the video below.] There have been reports that the Police Cheif of Tehran has also been given his 72 goats.

The people who have remained in Tehran have taken to the streets chanting "Death to Khamenei." So while President Trump doesn't want the old guy killed, Iranians who suffered under his rule have a different opinion.

Below is a somewhat current scorecard of the results of the IDF's efforts to end this terrorist Iranian regime.

The Foreign Ministry of Tehran has also been hit and destroyed by the IAF.

The HQ for the Iranian navy is also gone and soon forgotten.

The IRGC has just now launched another round of missile attacks, which means that Israel will return the favor in spades.

Israel hits Iran from within and wow, did they do some damage

Not a single civilian was killed. Some of the top IRGC leaders were eliminated while they were in the process of eliminating--that is, while on the toilet--seriously. Israel has preemptively struck Iran, destroying their nuclear facilities and taking out most of the IRGC leaders, and not for a romantic dinner.

Seventy-eight people have been eliminated and 329 injured in the latest available information coming from the 'always dependable' Iranian Health Ministry. Take that for what it's worth.

Israel just dropped a bombshell, unveiling rare footage of Mossad operatives pulling off audacious, in-your-face strikes deep inside Iran, shredding their air defenses and ballistic missile launchers like paper. This wasn’t some overnight op, Israel’s been playing the long game, meticulously setting the stage for years.

Mossad didn’t just sneak in; they built a doggone drone base right under Tehran’s nose. They smuggled precision weapons and their commandos slipped in under the radar. The IDF and Mossad were locked in step, orchestrating a masterclass in covert warfare. A security official told The Times of Israel that this operation was years of prep, smuggling high-tech gear and operatives into Iran to gut their nuclear and missile programs.

Per the official, Mossad agents set up a drone base on Iranian soil near Tehran. Those drones lit up the night, hammering surface-to-surface missile launchers aimed at Israel, and they didn’t stop there. Vehicles packed with weapons systems were smuggled in, wiping out Iran’s air defenses and handing Israeli jets total control of the skies.

Then there’s the kicker: Mossad commandos, cool as ice, deployed precision missiles to knock out anti-aircraft sites in central Iran. The official called it “groundbreaking thinking, bold planning and surgical operation of advanced technologies, special forces and agents operating in the heart of Iran while totally evading the eyes of local intelligence.”

That’s akin to sending exploding pagers to Hezbollah.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu came out swinging in a video Thursday: "We are at a decisive moment in Israel's history. Moments ago, Israel launched Operation Rising Lion, a targeted military operation to roll back the Iranian threat to Israel's very survival. This operation will continue for as many days as it takes to remove this threat."

No fluff. Israel’s going for the jugular.

The opening salvo has Iran reeling and Khamenei fleeing.

Israel's IAF hit nuclear sites, including the Natanz enrichment facility, and took out key military brass.

President Trump piled on Friday, telling Iran to "make a deal, before there is nothing left." That’s not a warning; it’s a countdown, but Iran now says they are officially ending negotiations. What a joke.

Am Yisrael Chai.

Iran executes alleged "Israeli spy" linked to assassination of IRGC officer

Alright, folks, strap in for another grim dispatch from the Middle East, where Iran’s mullahs are playing their favorite game: execute first, ask questions never.

According to Iranian media, Mohsen Langarneshin, a 34-year-old network security specialist from Isfahan, was hanged at the notorious Evin prison Wednesday morning. His crime? Allegedly being a “senior spy” for Israel’s Mossad and helping pull off the 2022 hit on Hassan Sayyad Khodaei, an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps officer with a rap sheet that reads like a Tom Clancy novel.

Khodaei, you may recall, got taken out by motorcycle-riding gunmen outside his Tehran home on May 22, 2022. The IRGC bigwig was supposedly behind plots targeting Americans, Israelis, and the French—because nothing screams “revolutionary guard” like international assassination schemes.

Iran’s state-linked Tasnim news claims Langarneshin was Mossad’s guy on the ground, recruited in fall 2020 and cozying up with his handlers in exotic locales like Georgia and Nepal. They say he confessed to it all, which sounds super legit… until you hear his family’s side.

Langarneshin’s kin insist that he was no James Bond. They claim his “confession” was beaten out of him during 43 days of solitary confinement, complete with daily doses of physical and psychological torture.

Color me shocked—Iran’s courts, those paragons of justice, rejected three appeals for a retrial. No surprise there; fairness isn’t exactly the regime’s brand.

On top of allegedly helping ice Khodaei, Langarneshin is accused of playing paparazzi for Mossad, snapping photos of senior Iranian officials and key sites. Oh, and he supposedly bought the motorcycle used in the hit—because nothing says “master spy” like running errands for assassins.

Look, I’m not saying the guy was a saint, but Iran’s track record on truth-telling is about as reliable as a Yugo in a blizzard. This whole story reeks of the regime’s usual playbook: pin the blame, stage the execution, and keep the fear machine humming. Stay classy, Tehran.

Hamas refuses to provide list of hostages to be released

Activist sets up photos of hostages held in the Gaza Strip before a statement by released hostages in  "Hostage Square" on Dec. 17, 2024. Photo by Amir Levy/Getty Images.

According to sources closely involved in the negotiations, Hamasshole Mohammed Sinwar, the brother of rodent-faced Yahya Sinwar who has been killed while trying to hide from the IDF, is deliberately obstructing the hostage deal and has misled mediators for weeks.

Not surprisingly, the optimism about the hostage negotiations has turned into frustration as obstacles, specifically those put forth by Sinwar, in the dealings have stalled the process.

Sources close to the talks suggest there's been a lot of intentional blocking, explaining how the brother of the late Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar has been misleading mediators for weeks. He's been refusing to provide hostage lists and backing out of deals that were already agreed upon. Security and political officials are very worried about how Sinwar has been managing the negotiations.

One might even surmise that Hamas has lost touch with the whereabouts of the hostages, or that they may have already been murdered.

Two big problems keep coming up: Hamas won't give a list of hostages for the first release, and there's disagreement about how many terrorist prisoners should be swapped and the terms of their deportation.

Israeli officials say that getting a hostage list is a must-have before anything else, and Hamas not doing so is stopping talks on other issues.

The end of the war is another big argument. At first, Hamas seemed okay with not discussing it to start negotiations, but now they want it to be part of any deal, making one wonder about their reasoning.

Security officials told ministers this week that starting the deal's first phase would likely lead to finishing it. Cabinet ministers seem more ready to accept the high costs of this deal but don't want to end the war, because allowing Hamas to remain intact is like allowing a few roaches to live under the sink and hope that they will not grow again.

There has been some progress though. They've agreed on releasing hostages who meet basic humanitarian needs and on sending more aid to Gaza. There's also some agreement on where Israeli forces should be during any ceasefire.

A high-ranking Cabinet member told Israel Hayom that while some topics might lead to a deal, they could also make things fall apart. Both sides are thinking about Donald Trump's upcoming inauguration on January 20.

Hamas made a statement on Wednesday, blaming Jerusalem for adding "new conditions related to withdrawal [of troops], ceasefire, prisoners, and the return of the displaced, which has delayed reaching the agreement that was available."

Hamas said the talks were "proceeding seriously in Doha with Qatari and Egyptian mediation" and claimed that the terrorist organization "has shown responsibility and flexibility."

The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office responded, "The Hamas terrorist organization continues to lie, is reneging on understandings that have already been reached and is continuing to create difficulties in the negotiations.

“However, Israel will continue its relentless efforts to return all of our hostages,” the statement added.

The Israeli negotiators, including top officials from the IDF, Mossad, and Shin Bet, were set to return to Jerusalem on Tuesday night after a "significant" week of indirect talks with Hamas in Qatar, according to the PMO. They're coming back for "internal consultations regarding the continuation of the talks for the return of our hostages."

On Monday night, Hannah Katzir, who was kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Oz during Hamas's attack on October 7, 2023, and freed in November of that year in a hostage exchange with Hamas, passed away at 78. Hannah was released on November 24, 2023, among 12 other women and children that day. By the end of the six-day truce on November 30, 105 captives were freed.

IDF strikes Assad's strategic weapons depots to keep the rebels from capturing them

The IDF launched dozens of strikes across Syria on Sunday, using intelligence from the Military Intelligence Directorate, the Mossad, and Air Force Intelligence after the collapse of the Assad regime.

The IDF stated they were aiming to decrease the large stockpiles of ammunition held by the Syrian military.

This was one of the most significant days for the IAF since the war began.

According to foreign sources, the IAF conducted over a hundred attack sorties in Syria, hitting hundreds of targets in what were once the Syrian army's weapons depots. The operations were directed from the air force's bunker by Air Force Commander Maj.-Gen. Tomer Bar.

According to Syrian media, the Air Force first targeted the anti-aircraft batteries abandoned by Assad's forces, who were retreating from the rebels. The Air Force aimed to eliminate any threats to their aircraft right from the start of the operation, quickly gaining total control of the skies over Syria.

Their mission was to strike weapons depots that housed surface-to-surface missiles, anti-tank missiles, tanks, heavy artillery, and other significant weapon stores.

Israel is concerned that these weapons could fall into the hands of groups affiliated with ISIS or Hezbollah.

The Air Force also hit border crossings between Syria and Lebanon after spotting movements from Syria into Lebanon.

Simultaneously, according to reports from Lebanon and Syria, the air force attacked a convoy of about one hundred vehicles, some armored, moving from Syria into Lebanon. These reports suggest it was a convoy of Hezbollah forces retreating from Al Qusayr in Syria's Shiite region back to Lebanon after Homs and other local towns were taken by rebels.

It was also reported that Israel bombed the scientific research center in Damascus, known for developing chemical weapons and ballistic missiles.

Later in the day, Syria reported, "Israel carried out two attacks on the military airports in Al-Maza and Khalahla."

It seems "strategic" weapons were destroyed to prevent them from being captured by rebels. The Russian Sputnik news agency reported that "the Israeli air force attacked all military airports in Damascus and its suburbs and in the southern region."

Two hours later, Syrian reports mentioned another wave of Israeli attacks on Damascus. Reuters noted, "Israel bombed the scientific research center in Damascus where chemical weapons and ballistic missile programs are managed."

Here's how the Mossad martyrd billionaire Hamasshole in Tehran

Question: Where did Ismail Haniyeh go when he died?
Answer: Everywhere.

Now we know just how Hamas' political chief and multi-billionaire Ismail Haniyeh was blown to smithereens in Tehran, Iran on Tuesday night. Initially, it was reported that the scumbag was killed by an Israeli airstrike, but that wasn't what caused the anti-Semite to go all to pieces.

Mossad planted explosives under his bed and sent him to his 72 goats before he even knew why his ass was flying high above his disconnected head.

In other words, Israel was able to discover which room Haniyeh used during his stays there, slip a remotely detonated bomb under his MyPillow mattress, find out when he was going to be in Tehran and badahbah badahbing!

Instant martyr.

And while Haniyeh was depicted by the liberal media as the "moderate" face of Hamas, in order to appease Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI and Gaza), Ilhan Omar (D-MI and Somalia), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY and the Communist Party), who themselves tend to side with the terrorist sympathizers, the truth is, the guy was a pile of dog poop. Of course, the media and the congress cretins would never come out and say they're all for anyone who hates the Jews. Instead, they say they're on the side of "the oppressed."

Haniyeh was about three billion dollars oppressed, money that he got that was slated for the Arabs in Gaza, much of which was sent by a demented president of some country that will go unnamed.

He has been on the State Department's Specially Designated Global Terrorists list since 2018 [aka pre-Biden administration] for his "close links with Hamas’ military wing" and for his support of "armed struggle, including against civilians."

The State Department report also said, "He has reportedly been involved in terrorist attacks against Israeli citizens." Even the International Criminal Court, often useless in the extreme, sought an arrest warrant for Haniyeh earlier this year for "war crimes and crimes against humanity including murder, rape, torture and taking hostages," involving the Hamas Oct. 7 terror invasion of Israel.

So don't cry for him Argentina--he got what he gave, in spades, and Iran is praising him as a martyr. His seventh wife is said to be a little sad in his blasting.

Israel made no comment on the assassination, but Iran vowed to strike the Jewish State because today is a day that ends in "y."

Hamas agrees to cease-fire deal, but demands "written guarantees" for negotiations on end of war

Hamas has accepted a proposal for a US-backed hostage release-ceasefire agreement with Israel Saturday, the New York Post reports. The Iran-backed terror group has dropped its most non-negotiable demand that Israel promises a total end to the war with the Hamassholes in Gaza.

Hamas is demanding that Israel provide "written guarantees" that mediators will continue to negotiate a permanent cease-fire so that they can attack Israel agian in the future when they least expect it.

The terror group gave its initial approval for the proposal after they received “verbal commitments and guarantees” from the Egyptian and Qatari mediators that fighting will not resume after Israel receives the hostages and that the two sides will continue to negotiate toward a permanent truce, the Hamas official said.

“Now we want these guarantees on paper,” the Hamas official said, knowing they can trust Israel to abide by their promise, while Hamas can do whatever they need to do to wipe out the Jews wherever they find them.

Israel’s Mossad intelligence director David Barnea went to Doha Friday and met with Qatari mediators.
Barnea rejected the demand for a written commitment on a second phase of the ceasefire deal, Axios reported.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agreed to send negotiators back to Doha next week for follow-up talks. However, Bibi's office emphasized that there continue to be “gaps between the parties.” CIA Spook Director William Burns is also heading back to Doha to join the talks, Axios reported.

This proposal would have Hamas release women, children, and injured hostages. But as usual, Israel would release hundreds of scumbags in prisoned in Israel over an initial period of six weeks.

The IDF also would pull back from heavily populated areas in Gaza and allow people to return to their homes in the northern parts of the territory during this time where they can plot as families to kill Jews wherever they can find them.

Phase two would have Hamas free all the remaining men they kidnapped and tortured, both civilians and soldiers whereas Israel would release Arab terrorists and criminals. These exchanges would only happen after "sustainable calm" takes effect and the IDF pulls out of Gaza in order to allow Hamas to rearm and regroup so that they can kill Jews wherever they find them.

Phase three would have the bodies of hostages who were tortured, raped, killed and otherwise died in captivity returned to Israel.

Netanyahu’s office warned that “gaps” between Israel and Hamas remain in the ceasefire proposal being discussed.

The plan received support from the families of many of hostages at their weekly marches in cities across Israel Saturday.

Hamas, whose top scumbag, Yahya Sinwar, would only release male hostages during the ceasefire deal’s second phase.

Sinwar

Israeli officials told Axios they worried that if they agreed to Hamas’ written commitment demands, the terror group would be able to indefinitely drag out the discussions about the deal’s second phase, thus giving Hamas time to rearm and regroup to kill Jews wherever they find them.

It would therefore be difficult for Israel to then resume fighting without it being seen as a violating the agreement, and could cause the anti-Semites in the United Nations Security Council to impose a ceasefire without securing all the hostages release, the officials said.

Mossad officials told mediators in Doha they were confident the Israeli cabinet would accept the ceasefire proposal on the table, an official familiar with the talks told The Wall Street Journal.

A source in Israel’s negotiating team said there was a legitimate chance to reach an agreement with Hamas, compared to previous discussions where Hamas had included demands that Israel said were impossible to accept.

Then once an agreement is reached and the hostages returned home to Israel, the IDF should bomb the crap out of Hamas, capture or kill Sinwar, destroy all UNRWA buildings and their jihad schools, rid Gaza completely of jihadis, and call it a day.

Hamas rejected hostage deal: Sinwar uninterested, says Mossad

Yahya Sinwar
Hamas "continues to exploit tensions with Iran and seeks . . . escalation in the region," the Israeli Prime Minister's Office (PMO) stated. [H/T Jerusalem Post Staff.] According to the Mossad, Hamas has again rejected the hostage deal outline, they revealed on Sunday morning.

Their refusal to deal with the Israelis may be due to the situation with the hostages--it's possible, if not probable, that most or all of them are dead.

This latest update comes over a week after the meeting of the relevant parties in Cairo.

"The rejection of the proposal by the three mediators, which included significant flexibility on Israel's part, proves that [Hamas leader Yahya] Sinwar is not interested in a humanitarian deal and in the return of the hostages," the PMO stated.

While the majority of experts know that Sinwar is an irrational psychopath, others consider him to be a rational psychopath who ultimately makes rational decisions.

"Israel will continue to forcefully pursue the fulfillment of the goals of the war against Hamas and will turn every stone to return the 133 hostages from Gaza as soon as possible," the statement concluded.

Israel creates death squad to kill every Hamasshole involved in Oct. 7 attack

Living on borrowed time

Israel has formed an assassination squad to give back to the Hamas terrorist what they so greatly deserve: death. Kill innocent Jews and the Jews will never again stand by and take it.

Israeli assassins have gone after Hamas and PLO scum in the past and it's going to happen again. After the 1972 Olympic massacre in Munich when members of Black September murdered the Israeli soccer team members, Mossad, Israel's version of our CIA, organized hit teams on those who planned the attack, code name Operation Wrath of God.

Unfortunately, it had a serious media problem when Mossad agents mistakenly killed the wrong man in Norway, Ahmed Bouchikhi. He was mistaken for Black September's top leaders, Ali Hassan Salameh, in 1973.

The new unit's goal will be to kill every Hamasshole who was involved in the barbaric October 7th attacks. Over 1,000 scumbags were involved so the operation might take years.

Jerusalem Post reports:

In Israel's ongoing effort to track down all those involved in the brutal terrorist attack that left more than 1,400 Israelis murdered, the Shin Bet (Israel Security Service) has established a new unit named Nili, an acronym in Hebrew for "The Eternity of Israel Will Not Lie."

The unit is dedicated to hunting down and eliminating every individual who played a role in the massacre in the western Negev settlements two weeks ago.

This force was specifically set up to target members of a special commando unit within Hamas's military wing called Nukhba ("elite") who infiltrated Israel, executed mass killings in various villages and IDF outposts, and then returned to the Gaza Strip.

The members of this new organization function independently from other Command and Control units that are focused on neutralizing strike cells and high-ranking terrorists. This particular mission is distinct, with the organization encompassing both field operatives and intelligence personnel.

One difference between Nili and Hamas--they will not be beheading or otherwise mutilating their victims.

DAY 10: Israel Under Attack

There is no equivalence between Israel and Hamas. And make no mistake about it, this is a religious war for Hamas.

Early Monday morning, Tel Aviv, Ashkelon, Ashdod, Sheba, Sderot, and communities along the Gaza border were under rocket attack. It got to the point that the Knesset, where Netanyahu spoke today, had to end abruptly and take shelter due to a rocket attack.

Hamas stole medical supplies and fuel from the UNRWA agency in the war zone. Hamas claims to hold 200 hostages with another 50 hostages being held by another Islamic group.

Mossad is calling for the closing of Al Jazeera bureau in Israel due to the danger that exists as thousands of Gazans are still trying to flee northern Gaza as Israel gave them more time to leave as Hamas is blocking roads in order to stop them. They are even taking the car keys of civilians to keep them in place in order to use them as dead propaganda props.

Water has been restored to South Gaza. It was originally stopped in order for Hamas to release the hostages they took, but the Hamassholes would rather let the Gazan citizens die of thirst, so Israel did the humane thing.

Exercises are being conducted by the IDF to prepare forces to enter Gaza.

Rumor has it that President Biden may visit Israel Wednesday or Friday and it is hoped he will know where he is when he arrives, if he actually goes there.

The US has sent two aircraft carrier fighter groups to the area, the Gerald R. Ford and the Eisenhower. Each group has the capability of leveling an entire town.

Some have called for Israel to respond to Hamas with a proportional response. This means they will have to take the same number of hostages of the same ages and genders of those Hamas took, kill the same number of young people at a dance festival [good luck with that], shoot up areas ion Gaza and kill whole families, mutilate women, children and babies, some need to be burned, some simply beheaded, to effect a proportional response.

Proportional response? WTF!

The Mossad prevented 3 attacks by Iran on Israeli businesspeople and tourists in Africa

Israel's Mossad has prevented multiple attacks by Iran on Israeli tourists and businesspeople in no less than three African countries, according to Channel 12 on Sunday. Specifically, the targeted Israelis were visiting Ghana, Senegal and Tanzania, the report states.

Five anti-Semitic suspects, all with African passports, have been arrested.

Iran, the largest supporter of global terrorism in the world and rabid hater of Jews and the Jewish State, have been trying to harm Israel and Israelis via cyberattacks and overseas attacks, even while President Joe Biden tries to woo them.

There have been shadow wars between the countries going on for decades, but Iranian efforts spiked since November 2020, after the Islamic Republic’s nuclear chief Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was assassinated, allegedly by the Mossad using a very cool AI machine gun to do the job and prevent him from developing a nuclear weapon designed to wipe out all of Israel and eventually the United States of America.

In addition, Iran has accused the Mossad of sabotaging its nuclear weapons facilities in July 2020 as well as in April and June of this year, which Iran claims was used for making popcorn, or some such nonsense.

There was also speculation that Israeli intelligence assisted the US in sending scumbag Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Force Chief Qasem Soleimani to his 72 virgins in little bite-size pieces.

At the start of October, Israeli officials accused Iran of attempting to assassinate Israelis in Cyprus, as they had successfully done in 2012. Meanwhile, at around the same time, there were plots by Iran to target Israelis in India, Thailand, Kenya, Azerbaijan and Georgia.

Just this past January, Iranian proxies attempted to kill an Israeli diplomat in India, inspiring a cookbook titled, "Kosher Curries With Lots of Worries."

Israeli intel officials believe Iran will continue to seek revenge on Israeli targets and Jews because they are Israelis and Jews and want to avenge the deaths of their leading terrorists who have been neutralized and unable to kill.

Netanyahu hints he may take independent action against world's largest sponsor of terrorism

The day prior to the arrival US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke against Iran, the world's number one sponsor of Islamic terrorism and a nation vowed to the total destruction of Israel. He hinted, not so covertly, that if the fhit hit the san [don't you just love word games] Jerusalem might take military action against the Islamic Republic's nuclear sites without Washington's approval.

In a ceremony marking the appointment of incoming Mossad chief David Barnea, and with many Mossad members [aka agents; aka spies] in attendance, Netanyahu said: “The first task of each one of you is to prevent Iran from arming itself with nuclear weapons.”

“I very much appreciate our friend the United States, which has been standing by our side for many years. That’s an integral part of our national security,” Netanyahu said, in an effort to make nice to the US, and added, “But there could be a situation in which our highest goal — to guarantee that the ayatollahs don’t end the thousands of years of existence of the Jewish people — will require us to take brave and independent decisions.”

“In any event — with or without a deal — we will do everything to deny Iran nuclear weapons, because this concerns our very existence.” And it seems as if the US party in charge is ambivalent about their anti-Semitic members, particularly those in the so-called "Squad."

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, center, outgoing Mossad director Yossi Cohen, right, and incoming director David Barnea at a ceremony conferring the Prime Minister’s Award on exception Mossad agents, May 24, 2021.

Global powers have been meeting in Vienna since early April in a bid to bring Washington back to the lousy John Kerry led 2015 nuclear deal with Tehran, which the US thankfully left in 2018.

The withdrawal under former President Donald Trump and the reimposition of sanctions has led Iran to step up its nuclear activities.

Know this: if the Iranian nuclear deal with the US and others is a good deal, Israel would approve of it. But Israel knows that it would only be a matter of time, and not very long, that Iran would develop a nuclear weapon and wouldn't hesitate to use it to destroy them and other "non-believers."

Iran’s parliament speaker said Sunday that international inspectors may no longer access surveillance images of the Islamic Republic’s nuclear sites, escalating tensions. If you can't guess the reason for their exclusion, then you're not paying attention.

A mysterious explosion had struck Iran’s Natanz nuclear facility, which Iran has described as sabotage and blamed on Israel. In November, Iranian scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, who founded the country’s military nuclear program some two decades earlier, was blown to kibbles and bits in an attack that Tehran also blames on Israel.

Tehran blames bad weather and ingrown toenails on Israel too.

Blinken flew to Israel Monday for his first trip to the region as US secretary of state, days after Washington claimed to help broker a ceasefire that brought an end to the most significant escalation of violence between Israel and Hamas in seven years. The actual ceasefire was brokered by Egypt but Biden even plagiarized that.

The goals of the three-day trip — which will also include stops in Ramallah, Cairo and Amman — will be to ensure the ceasefire hold, which will be a modern day miracle as the Hamassholes will never be satisfied as long as a Jew remains alive. He also wants to improve the quality of life for both sides, but not counting Hamas' unprovoked attacks on Israeli citizens, their quality of life is just fine. It's the Palestinians living under the thumb of Hamas whose quality of life sucks, as it is too with the situation women and gays have to face living in an Islamic theocracy throughout the Middle East.

Anti-Semites on the left, like Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), and AOC (Idiot-NY) believe that Israel does not have the right to defend its people against Hamas rocket and artillery attacks. Even Jewish Democrats such as New York Senators Chuck Schumer and Jerold Nadler refuse to condemn their sentiments against Israel and Jews.

It's shameful.

Kurds say Iran faked an attack on Mossad base in Iraq

The Kurds said that a pro-Iranian media piece that claimed an attack on a "Mossad base in Iraq" was as fake as a prostitute's undying love.

The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) in northern Iraq issued a statement that debunked the pro-Iranian news report that said an attack on an Israeli Mossad facility killed several Israelis, the Times of Israel reported Wednesday.

“We can confirm that news reports about an attack on an Israeli intelligence facility in the region are false,” the KRG statement said, adding that there are “Mossad bases” in the Kurdistan Region of northern Iraq.

Iran’s FARS news reported that the Iraqi Sabereen News outlet had claimed in a report Tuesday that “a Mossad center came under attack by unknown resistance forces … adding that the attack resulted in the death and injury of a number of Israeli forces, including a senior officer, dealing a ‘heavy blow’ to the regime and its spy agency.”

Fortunately, no Israelis were hurt in making up the story.

Not surprisingly, the report contained no details about the attack and raised serious doubts about its veracity.

The Washington Institute for Near East Policy (WINEP) notes that Sabereen News is “the most influential muqawama [resistance]” news source whose goals include “spreading disinformation for a variety of purposes, including to discredit the Iraqi government” as well as to incite muqawama supporters, propagate anti U.S sentiment and “promote and disseminate real and fake news.”

The Kurds occupy an important geo-strategic location in northern Iraq and the area has been been Iraq’s most stable region. The Kurds have been a steadfast partner to the US for nearly three decades and have played a critical role in countering threats from groups like ISIS and al-Qaeda, says WINEP.

Sabereen News may be a sister outlet to CNN, anonymous sources say.

Update on Beirut blast

What we know to date about the Beirut explosion on August 4th is that it has thus far killed 137 and has injured about 5,000 more. We also know that Hezbollah stockpiled 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate [or 5,500.000 pounds] in London and Germany which was eventually discovered and removed to a warehouse near the Beirut seaport. The explosive material was originally slated to be used against Israel.

Hezbollah kept three metric tons of ammonium nitrate, the explosive thought to be behind the mega blast in a storehouse in London, until MI5 [the UK's equivalent to our FBI] and the London Metropolitan Police found it in 2015.

The Iran-backed Hezbollah terrorists kept the explosive in thousands of ice packs in four properties in northwest London, according to a report in The Telegraph last year. The ice pack deception tactic was used in Germany, as well.
Soldiers guard American University
It was Israel's Mossad [our equivalent is the CIA] that tipped off MI5 about the stockpile of explosives. Mossad also helped the Germans locate the stockpile in their country in which there was a raid on a mosque and residents tied to the terrorist group throughout Germany.

MI5 arrested a man in his 40s for allegedly planning terrorist attacks, but did not find evidence that the terrorists were planning an attack in the UK.

In 2019, the UK banned Hezbollah, making it a criminal offense to support or be a member of the group, carrying a sentence of up to 10 years in prison.

Last week, a cross-party group of UK parliamentarians expressed concern that the UK was not effectively enforcing the ban on Hezbollah. In fact, the ban on terrorism in the UK was about as effective as the ban on rioting in the US.

At this time, rescue workers in Lebanon are digging through the rubble looking for survivors from Tuesday's explosion.

What we know now is that the explosion was preceded by a huge fire at the Port of Beirut, on the northern Mediterranean coast of Lebanon's capital.

In this video posted on social media white smoke could be seen billowing from Warehouse 12, next to the port's huge grain silos and then comes the enormous explosion.

Shortly after the roof of the warehouse burns and there is a large initial explosion, followed by a series of smaller blasts that some witnesses said sounded like fireworks going off.

Then, about 30 seconds later, there was a colossal explosion that sent a mushroom cloud into the air and a super-sonic blast wave radiating through the city. Reports say the blast could be heard as far as 125 miles from ground zero.

That blast wave leveled buildings near the port and caused extensive damage over much of the rest of the capital, displacing about 300,000 residents and collective losses that may reach $10-15bn, said Beirut Gov. Marwan Abboud.

The blast destroyed the immediate dockside area, creating a crater approximately 460 feet wide [about 1 1/2 football fields wide], which flooded with seawater.

The warehouse where the initial fire and explosions were observed was completely obliterated and an adjacent grain silo was heavily damaged.

"What we are witnessing is a huge catastrophe," said the head of the Lebanese Red Cross, George Kettani. "There are victims and casualties everywhere."

Satellite images highlight complete devastation in the port area, with one ship apparently blown out of the water and onto the dockside.

The explosion's shockwave blew out windows at Beirut International Airport's passenger terminal, about 5 miles away from the port.

Lebanon's President, Michel Aoun, blamed the detonation on 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate that he said had been stored unsafely at a warehouse in the port.

Ammonium nitrate is a crystal-like white solid commonly used as a source of nitrogen for agricultural fertilizer. But it can also be combined with fuel oils to create an explosive used in the mining and construction industries. Militants have made bombs with it in the past as in the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995 that killed 168 people, including children in a daycare, and injuring about 800 others.

Experts agree that ammonium nitrate, if stored properly, is relatively safe if not left for long periods of time as it will decay and absorb moisture, making it more dangerous if fire reaches it.

Before [top] After [bottom]
A fire appears to have triggered the explosion of the ammonium nitrate in Beirut.

Lebanese broadcaster LBCI and Reuters news agency cited sources as saying the fire was started by welding work being carried out on a hole in Warehouse 12.

The port's general manager, Hassan Koraytem, confirmed that maintenance was conducted on the door of the warehouse before the explosion.

German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said a female diplomat from the German embassy had died in her apartment from the blast.

The Lebanon-based cruise ship agency Abou Merhi said two people died and seven were injured when its Orient Queen ship was severely damaged by the blast.

There are also reports of one American, one Australian and two Egyptians killed in the blast along with residents in the surrounding vicinity.

Prime Minister Hassan Diab described the circumstances that led to the explosion as "unacceptable," and the director of Lebanese Customs, Badri Daher, told the press that his and Mr. Koraytem's warnings about the danger the material posted and calling for its removal were ignored.

Documents circulated online appeared to show that customs officials sent letters to the judiciary seeking guidance at least six times from 2014 to 2017.

The government has ordered officials at the port who oversaw the storage of the ammonium nitrate to be put under house arrest pending the completion of the investigation.

Many Lebanese citizens are unimpressed by the government's promises of transparency and accountability. They believe the investigation is an attempt by a political elite accused of corruption, neglect and mismanagement to dodge blame for the disaster and point fingers elsewhere.

Heads may roll . . . possibly literally.
