Virginia Democrat Indicted In Alleged Marijuana Empire, Proving Public Service Can Be A Surprisingly Profitable Business

Virginia State Sen. Louise Lucas, one of the Commonwealth’s most powerful Democrats, has been indicted on federal racketeering, marijuana distribution, and money laundering conspiracy charges. Prosecutors allege that Lucas used her political influence to protect and enrich a cannabis business she co-owns, turning public office into a potentially lucrative side hustle.

Lucas, 82, surrendered to authorities Thursday, according to U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche. Six others, including family members and close associates, were also taken into custody in connection with the alleged scheme. Apparently, the family business may have had a few more departments than the average operation.

The eight-count indictment accuses Lucas of racketeering conspiracy, conspiracy to distribute marijuana, money laundering conspiracy, honest services fraud conspiracy, and maintaining drug-involved premises. Additional defendants face firearms and wire fraud charges.

Lucas responded with the sort of defiant statement politicians typically reserve for moments when they would prefer the public to discuss anything other than the indictment.

“I grew up under Jim Crow. I’ve seen what happens when people in power try to silence those who stand up to them,” she wrote. “I spent my life fighting back, and I’m not stopping now. I will not be intimidated. I will not be bullied. And I will not back down.”

The timing is politically awkward, to put it mildly. The charges were unsealed just 12 days before the midterm elections, although Lucas herself is not on the ballot this year. The investigation reportedly began before the Trump administration, but that has done little to discourage Democrats from portraying the case as a politically motivated assault.

Blanche, however, insisted that the indictment was the product of evidence rather than partisan theater.

“We’re here today because of facts and evidence, which led to this investigation to begin many years ago, and facts and evidence that led to the grand jury to indict Senator Lucas and her alleged co-conspirators,” he said.

According to prosecutors, Lucas allegedly directed an organization dubbed the “Lucas Enterprise,” arranging the acquisition and distribution of at least 100 kilograms of marijuana while overseeing the laundering of its proceeds.

FBI Director Kash Patel said investigators believe the operation generated nearly $5 million over almost five years. That is an impressive return for an enterprise whose alleged business model supposedly involved cannabis rather than government-approved fiscal responsibility.

“The purpose of her enterprise included trafficking large quantities of illegal marijuana, creating generational wealth for members and associates of her criminal enterprise,” Patel said.

Prosecutors further allege that Lucas used her position as chair of Virginia’s Senate Finance and Appropriations Committee to shield the operation from criminal scrutiny and influence legislation that would benefit its business interests.

The arrangement, if proven, would represent an unusually direct relationship between writing the rules and profiting from the business those rules govern.

Virginia permits recreational marijuana possession and use, but commercial sales remain illegal outside the state’s authorized framework. Lawmakers passed legislation earlier this year establishing a regulated recreational marketplace scheduled to launch next summer. Prosecutors allege that Lucas and her associates were pursuing profits through an operation that went well beyond simply waiting for the legal market to open.

Blanche accused the senator of putting her own interests ahead of those of the people who elected her.

“Her first duty should have been looking out for her constituents before herself,” he said. “But the charges listed in the indictment reflect the alleged behavior of a public servant who put her own financial interests before the people she was elected to serve.”
An Alleged Family Business With Political Connections

According to Blanche, the alleged operation involved Lucas’ daughters, Lisa Lucas-Burke and Theresa Lucas-Lamb, and her grandson, Ryan Eichelberger, along with Carlton Upton Jr., Prince Albert William Hudson III, and Tamika Johnson.

Lucas and Lucas-Burke opened The Cannabis Outlet in Portsmouth in 2021. Prosecutors allege that Lucas-Lamb and Eichelberger acquired marijuana, supervised distribution, and managed the store as part of the enterprise.

Upton was Lucas’ business partner in VA Freedom Life, a company that served as an umbrella for The CBD Shoppe and The Cannabis Outlet beginning in 2019. Prosecutors allege that Upton managed The CBD Shoppe and worked with Lucas to obtain a recreational marijuana license that would benefit the enterprise.

The indictment also alleges that Upton made materially false statements on an April 2020 application for an Economic Injury Disaster Loan for Virginia Freedom Life. The government ultimately provided the business with $11,800.

That is a comparatively modest sum in a case involving millions of dollars in alleged proceeds, but apparently even a small federal loan can become an unwelcome detail when investigators start examining the paperwork.

Another allegation involves a $750,000 payment Lucas allegedly made in August 2022 to acquire full ownership of a business serving as a shell holding company for a co-conspirator’s anticipated Virginia recreational marijuana license.

Prosecutors say Lucas failed to disclose that financial interest on required forms. They further allege that she met with the co-conspirator in her Capitol complex office to receive a partial repayment and discussed the individual’s eligibility for a marijuana license with officials, including legislators, in connection with an alleged bribery arrangement.

In a November text message to the unnamed co-conspirator, Lucas allegedly wrote:

“Yes, we can make a lot of money but, before we start down that road again; how about we begin with you sending at least a good faith payment of the money you owe me with arrangements for the balance. Then we can talk about future business plans,”

Lucas had identified herself as president and CEO of VA Freedom Life on a February 2022 Statement of Economic Interests, according to prosecutors.

Patel described the alleged operation as one involving “recycling drug proceeds to expand the operation that she launched and created, and steering marijuana licenses to entities in which members held financial interest.”

The indictment also quotes Lucas discussing the possibility of an unnamed co-conspirator obtaining a recreational marijuana license and sharing the proceeds with her during a February 9, 2026, phone call about pending legislation.

Prosecutors allege that she described the opportunity as “our last chance at generational wealth” and said, “I’ve got too old to not be greedy.”

If the allegations are substantiated, the comments could prove more damaging than the usual campaign-trail promises about economic opportunity. Generational wealth is a popular political talking point. Prosecutors allege that Lucas was attempting to secure a particularly personal version of it.
Federal Agents Search Offices And Cannabis Businesses

The case became public on May 6, when federal agents searched Lucas’ Portsmouth legislative office and cannabis businesses. The Justice Department said agents recovered marijuana and firearms at The Cannabis Outlet and The CBD Shoppe.

FBI spokeswoman Cassandra Temple offered little detail at the scene, telling the Mercury: “We are conducting court-authorized law enforcement activity today.”

Fox News, which first reported the operation, said staff members were ordered out of Lucas’ office while agents conducted the search. Witnesses saw agents carrying boxes from the building. The network also reported that armed SWAT officers ordered people out of the neighboring Cannabis Outlet and that at least three people were handcuffed.

Lucas arrived after the operation had begun and told a reporter she did not know what it concerned.

Following the searches, Lucas accused federal authorities of political intimidation, arguing that the investigation was “about far more than one state senator” and reflected “a clear pattern from this administration.”

She also linked the raid to a redistricting referendum approved by Virginia voters in April, claiming the investigation was connected to efforts to “stop Trump’s scheme to manipulate the 2026 midterm elections.” The Supreme Court of Virginia later overturned the referendum.

“I am not backing down, and I will keep fighting for the people of Portsmouth and the commonwealth of Virginia,” she said.

Lucas has served in the Virginia Senate since 1992 and has been president pro tempore since 2020. As chair of the Senate Finance and Appropriations Committee, she wields substantial influence over the state budget, taxes, and spending.

Earlier this year, she pushed to eliminate or reduce sales and use tax exemptions for data centers, arguing that the incentives had become too expensive and were straining Virginia’s electricity grid and infrastructure. Opposition from House Democrats and Gov. Abigail Spanberger contributed to a months-long budget impasse.

The senator has spent decades exercising influence over how Virginia spends its money. Prosecutors now allege that she also used that influence to advance her own business interests.
Democrats Cry Foul Over Timing

The indictment has placed Virginia Democrats in the familiar position of defending a colleague’s right to due process while questioning the motives of the authorities bringing the charges.

Senate Majority Leader Scott Surovell, a Democrat from Fairfax, urged restraint.

“The federal indictment unsealed this week contains serious allegations, and Senator Lucas is entitled to the same presumption of innocence that every American receives,” Surovell said.

“She is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. I will not comment on the evidence in this case, and I urge others to show the same restraint.”

Spanberger also emphasized Lucas’ presumption of innocence but argued that the timing of the indictment was troubling.

“She and her family deserve the opportunity to present their defense and speak to the allegations presented,” Spanberger said Thursday.

“The timing of this indictment undermines the U.S. Department of Justice’s previously longstanding policy of not taking legal actions — to include indictments or significant investigative steps — close to an election and sadly, this timing further erodes the trust the American people deserve to have in the Department of Justice.”

Virginia House Speaker Don Scott, another Democrat, likewise criticized the Trump administration while acknowledging the seriousness of the allegations.

“The Trump administration’s weaponization of the justice system is deeply troubling — as are the allegations made in this indictment,” Scott said. “Today we have heard only from the Trump administration, and Senator Lucas will have her chance to respond to these charges in court.”

Republican House Minority Leader Terry Kilgore took a more straightforward approach, arguing that the courts should settle the matter.

“The charges against Senator Lucas are serious, and go beyond the world of politics. They will be resolved via our judicial system, as they should,” Kilgore said.

The federal investigation is not the first time Lucas’ cannabis business has attracted scrutiny.

Lucas co-sponsored legislation legalizing simple marijuana possession in 2021. That measure did not, however, establish a regulated recreational retail market.

A 2022 Mercury investigation found labeling discrepancies and quantities of delta-9 THC that made two tested products from The Cannabis Outlet illegal to sell under Virginia law at the time. One cereal bar contained substantially less total THC than its packaging advertised. The reporting raised broader questions about unregulated cannabis products following the legalization of possession.

The latest indictment goes considerably further, alleging that Lucas used her political position to protect a business operation, facilitate marijuana distribution, and pursue financial arrangements tied to anticipated state licenses.

The allegations remain unproven, and Lucas is entitled to defend herself in court. But the case presents Virginia Democrats with an inconvenient problem: a powerful member of their own party is accused of using public office to benefit a private enterprise in an industry that lawmakers themselves have been working to regulate.

As for Lucas’ future role in the Senate and the upcoming legislative session, those questions remained unresolved following Thursday’s indictment.

For now, the courts will determine whether prosecutors can substantiate their claims. If they do, Virginia may have a case study in the dangers of allowing politicians to regulate an industry in which they have substantial personal financial interests.

The phrase “conflict of interest” may soon require a much larger definition in Richmond.

"Moderate" Governor Hires Anti-Catholic FBI Agent to Reform Prisons

Virginia’s self-styled “moderate” governor, Abigail Spanberger, has made another bold statement about moderation. She has handed the co-chairmanship of her new Community Partnership Council on Corrections to Stanley Meador, the former FBI special agent in charge in Richmond who presided over the now-retracted 2023 memo that treated traditionalist Catholics as a fresh domestic-terrorism opportunity.

The council, Spanberger announced, will advance “safety reforms by hearing directly from [corrections] staff, incarcerated individuals, and communities across Virginia” on reentry, public accountability, and “conditions of confinement.” It will create “a permanent, structured forum for dialogue and action on the issues that matter most” so that the governor’s reforms “take root, and build a foundation for Virginia long after I am no longer in this office.”

Many things, she added, are “systemically wrong” with the state’s prisons. Meador is the man for the job. While he ran the Richmond field office, the FBI produced an internal document titled “Interest of Racially or Ethnically Motivated Violent Extremists in Radical-Traditionalist Catholic Ideology Almost Certainly Presents New Mitigation Opportunities.” The memo proposed keeping an eye on Catholic churches in Virginia and drew its analytical horsepower from the Southern Poverty Law Center, an outfit now facing wire-fraud charges for its long practice of labeling conservative Christians as extremists.

The memo leaked. The FBI yanked it back.

Bishop Barry Knestout of Richmond called it a “threat to religious liberty.” Then-Attorney General Merrick Garland told the Senate Judiciary Committee it was “appalling. It’s appalling. I’m in complete agreement with you.” FBI Director Christopher Wray told the House Judiciary Committee he had been “aghast” and ordered the thing withdrawn the moment he saw it.

The Justice Department inspector general later concluded the memo failed basic analytic standards and lacked sufficient evidence. Meador met with diocesan leaders and expressed regret for the “negative attention.” He did not, however, express regret for the memo itself. When one of his own subordinates apologized for having helped draft the document, Meador replied in an email: “No apology needed. I’m glad you are on the team and thankful for your commitment. Keep that head up, this too shall pass. Will make for a great chapter in your memoirs some day!”

That is the fellow Spanberger has now placed in a position to shape prison policy by listening to “incarcerated individuals.” The same administration that once worried traditional Catholics might radicalize has decided the urgent task is to give convicted criminals a structured forum in which to explain what is “systemically wrong” with their living arrangements.

Spanberger billed herself as a moderate on the campaign trail. Since taking office she has stocked her administration with a former Obama adviser who favored masking two-year-olds and mandatory COVID shots, a trans activist, and an advocate tied to a Soros-funded criminal-justice group. Appointing the man who ran the Richmond office during the Catholic memo was apparently just the next logical step in that program of moderation.Virginia’s prisons have recently featured MS-13 gang members, here illegally and already convicted of violent crimes including murder, stabbing three corrections officers.

At Red Onion State Prison, inmates set themselves on fire; the Department of Corrections said there was “no evidence” this was a protest and that the prisoners were simply trying to get moved.

Spanberger’s council will address these matters through dialogue, visitation-hour extensions, and a one-page code of ethics that instructs staff to “Do the Right Thing” and embrace a “People First” culture.The governor reports that her administration has already “immediately actioned” about 85 percent of the concerns raised by advocacy groups. She also cites a 56 percent drop in serious inmate-on-staff assaults and a 47 percent drop in confirmed overdoses. Other numbers, she notes, reflect how staff handle prisoners rather than any actual reduction in violence.

Meador was placed on leave and removed from the FBI in June 2025. CatholicVote national political director Logan Church observed that Spanberger’s decision to elevate him “tells every Catholic in America that violating our civil liberties isn’t a problem, it’s a pathway to advancement.” In the world of contemporary Democratic moderation, that is apparently high praise.

Murder-Suicide by Prominent Former Democrat Ends Ugly Divorce

Former Democratic lieutenant governor of Virginia Justin Fairfax murdered his wife before committing suicide overnight, police said Thursday.  Not a good look for the former Democrat.

Police believe Fairfax shot his wife Cerina after a domestic incident at their home in Annandale, Virginia, just outside of Washington, D.C. Police waited hours to release the identities while they said they notified next of kin.

"Former Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax shot and killed his wife inside of their home, and then shot and killed himself," police said Thursday, adding that the couple was in the middle of a messy divorce.

Police said that Fairfax and his wife were in the middle of an "ongoing domestic dispute" surrounding a "complicated or messy divorce." They added that he was recently served some paperwork for an upcoming proceeding and that "apparently led to this incident last night."

In January 2026, Fairfax claimed that he was assaulted by his wife and police were called to the home. That claim was not true, police said, adding that Cerina put cameras up throughout the house and proved the former Democrat was a liar, not uncommon with the left.

Local outlet Fox5 reported that the first call to report the incident came shortly after midnight from someone who said he believed his father had stabbed his mother. Police arrived and found a woman unconscious and bleeding, discovering that she had been shot. The caller did not know where their father was, but police later found him dead in another part of the house.

The house was later identified as belonging to Fairfax and there were reportedly multiple people inside the house at the time of the suspected murder-suicide. Fairfax had two children, both teenagers, who were in the house at the time of the murder. One of the children was the person who called the police.

The first information about the killing began trickling in shortly after midnight when police posted an alert on their investigation.

"Shortly after midnight, officers responded to the 8100 block of Guinevere Drive in Annandale, where they located an adult male and an adult female deceased inside of a residence. Preliminarily, it appears that the adult male shot the adult female before shooting himself in a domestic related incident. We were withholding the identities of the individuals until next of kin can be notified."

Police added that "all parties are accounted for and there is no threat to the community." Fairfax was the lieutenant governor of Virginia from 2018 to 2022 and faced sexual assault allegations in 2019 shortly after images of then Democratic Governor Ralph Northam wearing blackface emerged. [You remember Ralphy Boy--he's the guy who suggested keeping an unwanted baby, a baby who was accidentally admitted through the mother's birth canal and thus entered the outside world, to make the infant comfortable while the doctor and mother decide whether or not to kill him or her.]

The FBI later conducted an investigation into how the allegations surfaced against Northam and probed whether they were politically motivated.

Fairfax later ran for governor in 2021, but did not make it out of the Democratic primary. During his time in office, he pushed for gun control, [seriously] including restrictions on magazine capacity and so-called assault rifles. He also supported abortion and raising the minimum wage. 

Hypocrisy much?

Yes, this is yet another grim chapter in the long, sordid saga of Democratic hypocrisy in Virginia. Here was Justin Fairfax, the guy who spent his time in office lecturing everyone about gun control and pushing hard for magazine bans and assault weapon restrictions, only to apparently turn a firearm on his own wife in the middle of a nasty divorce before offing himself. The same man who rode into office on a wave of progressive promises now leaves behind a trail of tragedy that no amount of political posturing could hide.

And let's not forget the context. Fairfax's political career was already teetering after those 2019 sexual assault allegations that nearly derailed the entire Democratic ticket alongside Ralph Northam's blackface scandal. He tried to claw his way back with a gubernatorial bid in 2021, but Democrats tossed him aside in the primary. Now this. 

The party that loves to moralize about domestic violence and "toxic masculinity" has to reckon with one of its own once again.

The details are chilling: teenage kids in the house, one of them making the desperate 911 call thinking it was a stabbing, cameras installed because of prior false claims, and an "ongoing domestic dispute" tied to divorce papers that apparently set it all off. Police did their job notifying next of kin before naming names, but the facts are now out there for everyone to see.

This is not just a personal tragedy. It is a stark reminder of the failures and contradictions within the political class that claims to have all the answers on everything from guns to family issues. Fairfax wanted to disarm law-abiding citizens while his own home descended into chaos. 

The left will no doubt try to memory-hole this one as quickly as possible, but the quotes from police and the timeline speak for themselves. Another day, another example of elite hypocrisy ending in heartbreak.

Republican beats Democrat in deep blue state after his social media history gets uncovered

A Republican pulled off a genuine shocker in deep-blue Northern Virginia on Tuesday, snagging a county-level seat that nobody saw coming after the Democrat nominee's ancient social media skeletons came tumbling out of the closet.

Jeannie LaCroix, 64, won the special election for a Prince William County Board of Supervisors seat, beating Democrat Muhammed Sufiyan Casim, 36, a Muslim Pakistani immigrant. The turning point? Revelations that Casim, back in his 20s in the 2010s, had posted a bunch of racist, misogynist, and antisemitic stuff online, as Potomac Local News laid out.

Casim tried to clean it up in an interview with the Prince William Times. "I wasn’t realizing the cultural weight and the context, so I used that word foolishly, but not in a derogatory or prejudicial way," he said, explaining that he had used the N-word to refer to his black friend. "Back in those days, a lot of kids would use that word both with kids of African American origin and people of any brown ethnicity." He also suggested he had just been copying the behavior of "kids" of "brown ethnicity" at the time.

In a March 2 X post where he confirmed he wasn't dropping out, Casim went the victim route, blaming the rhetoric of the former Republican chairman of the Board (who left office seven years ago) for emboldening neo-Nazis, then adding, "As a Muslim-American who has experienced what it’s like to live in America after 9/11, discussions around cultural sensitivity are very important to me."

LaCroix took 43.7% of the vote to Casim's 37%, with write-ins grabbing 19.2%, per the Prince William County Office of Elections via Potomac Local News. The Republican rode the wave of a fractured Democratic side. Pamela Montgomery, who lost the primary to Casim, jumped in as a write-in just a week before Election Day because of those decade-old posts. She even led in fundraising despite the late start.

"For Democrats, confronting racism is not optional. It is foundational," Montgomery, who is Black, wrote in a letter published by the Prince William Times on Election Day. "When racist language surfaces, especially from someone seeking public office, the response should be clear: acknowledge it, condemn it, and demand accountability."

This race filled the vacancy left by Democrat Margaret Franklin, who resigned after winning a Virginia House of Delegates seat in January. Franklin had crushed Casim in the Dem primary for that state House spot by more than 2-to-1.

Prince William County is the kind of affluent, diverse D.C. suburb that Democrats usually own. Kamala Harris carried it by 18 points in 2024, and Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger won it by 34 points in November 2025. The northeastern precincts around Woodbridge are some of the bluest in the whole county, per 2024 VoteHub data.

LaCroix's win stands out as one of the rare flips from blue to red in a special election during President Donald Trump's second term. Meanwhile, over the past year, Democrats have been flipping multiple state legislative seats in areas Trump carried by double digits in 2024.

Sometimes the past really does refuse to stay buried, especially when it's dumb stuff someone posted online in their 20s. And sometimes voters decide that "I was young and foolish" doesn't quite cut it when you're running for office. Who knew accountability could swing both ways?

Another Preventable Tragedy: Illegal Immigrant Released by Sanctuary Policies in Fairfax County Allegedly Murders Man One Day Later

Here we go again. In yet another glaring example of how Democrat-run sanctuary policies put American lives at risk, an illegal immigrant from El Salvador with a rap sheet longer than a Porto-San line on Octoberfest was cut loose by authorities in Fairfax County, Virginia, only to allegedly commit a murder the very next day.

Marvin Morales-Ortez, a 23-year-old illegal alien and suspected MS-13 gang member, was in custody on Tuesday facing charges of malicious wounding and brandishing a firearm. But thanks to the office of Soros-backed Commonwealth's Attorney Steve Descano, those charges were dropped, and he walked free. 

By Wednesday, a man was found shot dead in his Reston home, and Morales-Ortez was the prime suspect. After a manhunt involving drones, K-9s, and helicopters, he was tracked down and arrested on second-degree murder charges.

"The charges were nolle prossed due to insufficient evidence to move forward with the criminal case," a spokesperson for the Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Office, headed by George Soros-backed Fairfax County Commonwealth Attorney Steve Descano, told Fox News Digital. "The victim told police that they had moved out of the country and would not be coming to court to cooperate in proceedings, regardless of timing. Sadly, without the victim’s necessary testimony, we could not move forward."

Court records paint a disturbing picture: Morales-Ortez has been charged with at least seven crimes in Fairfax County since 2020, including a previous first-degree murder charge that was also dropped (someone else was later convicted). He's only been convicted once, for theft, and was fined $300, which he still hasn't paid.

Both the police and Descano's office pointed fingers at the sheriff's office, led by Stacey Kincaid, for handling ICE detainers. And sure enough, ICE had lodged a detainer, but Fairfax County's sanctuary policies meant it wasn't honored, unless there's a judicial warrant, which ICE didn't provide in this case.

"The Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office follows all local, state, and federal laws when determining whether a person is subject to release from the ADC. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is automatically notified any time a person is booked into the ADC. In this instance, ICE was aware of Morales Ortez’s incarceration and elected not to seek a judicial warrant to ensure he remained in custody," Fox News Digital was told. "Accordingly, and consistent with our policies and the law, once the court issued an order dismissing his cases, Mr. Morales Ortez was released. "The Department of Homeland Security wasn't having any of the blame-shifting.

"This is nothing more than sanctuary politicians trying to pass the blame for their REFUSAL to protect American citizens," the spokesperson said. "To honor a detainer, officials do NOT need a judicial warrant. The sanctuary politicians of Fairfax have blood on their hands. They should have turned this serial criminal illegal alien over to ICE law enforcement--instead they chose to RELEASE him back into Virginia neighborhoods."

Critics like Sean Kennedy of Virginians for Safe Communities piled on, calling out Descano's track record.

"For Steve Descano’s office, letting violent criminals out to commit more crimes isn’t a bug, it’s a feature. But he bungles so many cases you can’t always tell where the incompetence ends and the ideology begins," Sean Kennedy, Virginians for Safe Communities president, told Fox News Digital. "That a dangerous offender would go free and create more victims is so commonplace in Fairfax that may have become numb to it. Descano exploits that."

This isn't some isolated screw-up—Fairfax County has long been criticized as one of the nation's most egregious sanctuary jurisdictions, routinely ignoring ICE detainers and prioritizing "trust" policies over public safety. Under the incoming Trump administration, ICE arrests in Virginia have surged, highlighting some of the "worst of the worst" criminal aliens recently nabbed. But tragedies like this one show the deadly cost of local officials playing politics with immigration enforcement.

The January 6 pipe-bomber saga just took the most predictable turn imaginable, and the regime media is already memory-holing it faster than Hunter Biden's laptop.

After FIVE YEARS of the FBI pretending this guy was the Zodiac Killer crossed with Carmen Sandiego, they finally drag in one Brian Cole Jr., 30-year-old Woodbridge, Virginia man who, believe it or not, allegedly confessed in a four-hour interview the very day he was arrested. 

And how does the family greet him in federal court? Not with shame, not with silence, but with the waterworks and the full-throated: "We love you, Brian! We're always here for you!"

Yeah, nothing says "wrongly accused patriot" quite like your female relatives turning the courtroom into a Hallmark movie the second the pipe-bomb suspect shuffles in wearing Crocs and a mustache that screams "I peaked in 10th grade."

The same FBI that could find a noose-shaped garage pull-down rope in Bubba Wallace’s stall in fifteen minutes somehow needed half a decade, a $500k reward (renewed by Trump, by the way), and God-only-knows how many man-hours to catch the guy who was, checks notes, buying bomb parts at eight different Home Depots and strolling around Capitol Hill the night before J6 like he was on a Pokémon Go route.

Kash Patel already went there: FBI Director Kash Patel blasted the FBI under the Biden administration for allegedly sitting on evidence that could have led to Cole's arrest sooner.

Translation: The same people who swore the pipe bombs were the work of some MAGA mastermind couldn't find their own backside with a flashlight and a search warrant when it meant actually solving the case before Trump got back in office.

And then there's Grandma Loretta, still swinging for the fences: "He did not do it. He did not," she insisted, in spite of his confession. "He’s a good kid. I don't know how to take it."

Lady, the evidence is apparently a four-hour confession, surveillance footage, cell-phone pings, and receipts from half of northern Virginia. But sure, “railroading.”

The same judge handling this, Moxila Upadhyaya, is the one who oversaw a parade of J6 trespassers before Trump pardoned them. Funny how that works.

Bottom line: The FBI sat on this for years while Nancy Pelosi's January 6 committee milked the 'unsolved pipe bombs" mystery for every drop of Trump-is-Hitler propaganda they could squeeze out. 

The second Trump wins and Kash Patel takes over? Poof, suspect in custody within weeks.

Almost like someone didn't want this solved until the political timing was… convenient.

BOOM: Pipe Bomber Bagged After Nearly Five Years – And It Wasn’t Some Magical New Tip, It Was Pure Cop Grit Under the New Crew

Folks, grab your Pez dispenser, pop a Pez, because we finally have a name and a set of cuffs on the creep who planted viable pipe bombs outside the RNC and DNC headquarters the night before January 6, 2021.

Thirty-year-old Brian Cole Jr. from Woodbridge, Virginia is now in custody, and the Trump-era Justice Department just held a presser that basically read like a love letter to old-school police work.

Attorney General Pam Bondi kicked things off and didn't mince words: the arrest came "not the result of a new tip or a new witness, but rather, the result of good, diligent police and prosecutorial work."

FBI Director Kash Patel piled on, saying the breakthrough happened "when you let good cops be cops." He gave a big shout-out to Deputy Director Dan Bongino, who apparently ran the show on this one.

Bongino himself stepped up and dropped this absolute gem: "This is what it's like when you work for a president who tells you to go get the bad guys."

You getting chills yet, because I am.

Assistant Director Darren Cox of the Washington Field Office laid out just how brutal the haystack was: they chewed through "massive amounts of data, more than three million lines of it" to zero in on Cole. He reminded everyone these weren't fake props, these were live bombs that, by the grace of God, never went off.

Then former judge and current U.S. Attorney Jeannine Pirro brought the fire, ticking off the calendar: "Four years, 10 months, and 28 days ago, an individual placed a bomb in the vicinity of the RNC and DNC." She talked about chasing down every single one of the 233,000+ black end caps that match the ones used on the bombs, cross-referencing pipe, wire, steel, the whole nine yards. And she made it crystal clear this administration told the investigators, "Go get it done."

Pirro closed with a line that should be stitched on a pillow: "Today begins the formal process of accountability… We will take this case across the finish line."

Even MPD Chief Pamela Smith got in on it, saying after almost five years of grinding through thousands of hours of video and countless leads, "Washingtonians can rest easier today knowing that the suspect responsible for this act is in custody."

The Q&A was short. They are not tipping their hand on evidence or motive yet, but Bongino did recount the moment they knew they had their guy: Cox called him and said, "You sitting down? …I think we got him."

And in the cherry-on-top moment, AG Bondi wrapped the whole thing by announcing this was the best 51st birthday present they could give Dan Bongino, whose birthday is, you guessed it, today.

So yes, no anonymous texting hero, no last-minute whistleblower, no Hollywood confession. Just a bunch of fed-up cops and prosecutors who were finally allowed to do their damn jobs.Welcome to the new normal, bad guys. Clock’s ticking.

Two National Guardsmen Critically Injured in Targeted Shooting Near White House

Today, Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at approximately 2:15 p.m. (EST) two West Virginia National Guard soldiers were shot just a few blocks from the White House in Washington, D.C. The attack happened while they were on patrol. As of this writing, (6 p.m. EST). It was estimated that about 15 shots were reported.

FBI Director Kash Patel spoke to reporters along with D.C. 

Patel said the two soldiers are still in critical condition in the hospital. Earlier, West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey had wrongly said the soldiers had died. At this moment, it has been speculated that both soldiers are dead, and it was also reported that a civilian was also shot and their condition is unknown.

Reagan International Airport has flight delays and people have been told to hunker down. At this time, the situation has been changed and restrictions have been loosened.

At the news conference, D.C. police official Jeffery Carroll and Mayor Bowser said the shooting was targeted. Carroll explained that the gunman "immediately" opened fire on the soldiers.The Guardsmen were walking on a highly visible patrol near 17th and H Street NW. Carroll said the suspect came around the corner, raised his arm with a gun, and started shooting at the National Guard members. 

Other Guardsmen nearby heard the shots, rushed over, tackled the suspect, and arrested him.The suspect, whose name has not been released yet, was also shot during the struggle. He was taken to a hospital for treatment, Carroll said. he is described as an overweight, dark bearded man,

West Virginia Republican Party Chairman Delegate Josh Holstein, who is 24 years old, said the whole state is "outraged and devastated" by the shooting.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Holstein called it a "heinous" and "cowardly" act. He said it was not just an attack on the soldiers who serve, but "an attack on our state and on the very values that hold this country together."

Holstein thanked police officers and service members who “selflessly put their lives on the line” every day to keep people safe.

"West Virginia stands united behind our National Guard, our military, and our law enforcement officers who embody courage and sacrifice in the face of danger," Holstein said.

He asked everyone in West Virginia to pray for the injured soldiers and their families. He also said the people responsible must be held fully accountable.

"The strength and spirit of our state and our nation are far greater than any act of violence," he added.

Treasonous Techie Tries to Spill Secrets, Gets Snagged by FBI

Here we go again with another genius thinking they can play spy games and not get caught. 

Nathan Laatsch, a 28-year-old IT geek at the Defense Intelligence Agency, decided he didn’t “agree or align” with the Trump administration’s values and thought the best way to stick it to 'the man' was to try peddling classified information to a foreign government. 

According to the DOJ, Laatsch, who’s been a DIA employee since 2019 with a top-secret clearance, got nabbed in Virginia on Thursday after the FBI got a tip back in March 2025. Apparently, this guy was itching to share “completed intelligence products, some unprocessed intelligence, and other assorted classified documentation” because, you know, he’s got a beef with the current administration. 

Shades of Edward Snowden.

The FBI, doing what they do best, set up a sting operation. Laatsch thought he was chatting up a foreign agent, but surprise, it was an FBI undercover operative. 

Over multiple conversations, he bragged about transcribing classified info onto a notepad at his desk like he’s auditioning for a bad spy movie. The DOJ says he smuggled the stuff out of his workspace over three days, perhaps thinking he was saving the world.

The feds arranged a drop-off at a park in northern Virginia, because nothing screams “covert” like a public park, right? On or around May 1, the geek dropped a thumb drive loaded with a message and documents marked Secret and Top Secret. His note was a cocky little boast about providing “a decent sample size” of classified goodies to show off what he could access. 

By May 7, after the thumb drive was “retrieved,” Laatsch, got greedy, hinting he wanted something in return. The next day, he laid it out: “citizenship for your country” because he’s not optimistic about America’s future. Oh, and he’s “not opposed to other compensation” but doesn’t need “material compensation.” So it appears the dude has principles, but he’s not above a little side hustle.

From May 15 to May 27, he kept at it, scribbling more secrets and sneaking them out by stuffing notes in his clothes like a kid hiding candy. Finally, on Thursday, he showed up at another prearranged drop spot, ready to hand over the goods. The FBI swooped in causing him to soil his skivvies, and now he's cooling his heels, facing a court date on Friday in the Eastern District of Virginia.

I suspect he'll be losing his top secret clearance and probably his freedom as well.

Look, we all know that politics can make people lose their minds. But going full Benedict Arnold because you don’t vibe with the administration? That’s a special kind of stupid. 

Laatsch thought he was outsmarting everyone, but all he did was gift-wrap his future for the feds. Maybe next time, stick to angry Reddit threads, pal.

MS-13 illegal alien gentlemen stab 3 Virginia prison guards

Well, folks, chalk up another bloody mess to the open-border lunacy of the last administration. Three Virginia correctional officers were stabbed in a vicious attack by MS-13 gang members—illegal aliens, mind you—who shouldn’t even be breathing American air. 

This isn’t just a prison brawl; it’s a screaming indictment of a broken immigration system that lets violent thugs waltz across the border and wreak havoc, even behind bars.

The carnage went down Friday at Wallens Ridge State Prison in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. Six inmates, five of them card-carrying MS-13 scumcrumpets from El Salvador, decided to play shiv roulette with the guards. The sixth? A Sureño 13 gangbanger, because apparently, we’re running a multinational crime syndicate convention in our prisons now. All of them are here illegally, courtesy of the "come one, come all" border policies we’re still paying for thanks to the Biden administration and whoever was handling Sleepy Joe.

The Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC) laid it out: “Each have been convicted of violent crimes including aggravated murder, first and second degree murder, and rape.” Let that sink in. 

These aren’t misunderstood dreamers; they’re walking nightmares. Five officers were rushed to the hospital after the attack. Three are out, two with minor injuries, but the fact that this happened at all is a disgrace and should serve as a wake up call to us all.

VADOC Director Chad Dotson didn’t mince words: “This senseless attack should never have been in the country in the first place.” No kidding. He added, “Every single day, our officers put their lives on the line to ensure public safety for the more than 8.8 million people across the Commonwealth. This attack is an example of the dangers they face when they show up to work every day. Our officers are heroes, and I commend the team at Wallens Ridge for their swift response.” 

Damn right they’re heroes—too bad they’re dodging blades from foreign gangsters who should’ve been deported years ago.

MS-13 gang leader arrested in Virginia

U.S. authorities have captured the MS-13 top leader for the U.S. East Coast, the FBI announced on Thursday.

Officials captured the 24-year-old suspect in Woodbridge, Virginia, just south of Washington, D.C. Authorities have yet to release the suspect's name, but they say he is one of the top three leaders of the MS-13 gang in the U.S.

Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel monitored the arrest as it took place Thursday morning."They executed a clean, safe operation and the bad guys in custody. And thanks to the FBI, we got one of the worst of the worst of the MS-13 off the streets this morning.

"Virginia and the country is a lot safer today," Bondi told Fox News following the arrest.The operation included the FBI joined by the Prince William County Police Department, ATF, ICE, and the Virginia State Police.

"Just captured a major leader of MS13. Tom HOMAN is a superstar!" President Donald Trump wrote on social media.

Patel also praised law enforcement officers for conducting a safe operation."This is what can happen when you put good cops in good places to take on bad guys. And America should be watching this. And we are proud to be here standing with these brave warriors," Patel said.

Virginia Democrats vote 100% for murdering babies up to birth

Leftists are great with words. They are "pro-choice," which means "pro-abortion," which also means "in favor of ending the life of a baby in the womb of his or her mother." They call it "the right to choose," when it also means the right to decide whether the baby in question lives or dies. It's akin to "gender affirming care," but never "delusion affirmation," or "genital mutilation."

The left used to pretend that abortions should be safe, legal and rare, but now they dropped all pretense, at least the leftists in Virginia.

The radical pro-abortion members of the Virginia Senate debated the most extreme baby-killing measure ever introduced on Monday, SJ 247, the so called Right to Reproductive Amendment, introduced by Sen. Jennifer Boysko, D-38. See how nice they describe their horror show? It has nothing to do with 'reproduction,' it has to do with preventing it.

“The effect of this extreme amendment to the state constitution should it ultimately be adopted will almost certainly prevent passage of any future bills intended to provide appropriate protections to the women and babies of Virginia from unchecked abortion businesses,” said Olivia Gans Turner, President of VSHL. “It is merely a way to give abortion promoters the ability to operate in the Commonwealth without regulations. It is the responsibility of the legislature to consider the best ways to protect vulnerable individuals. This amendment will seriously interfere with that role and cause more preborn babies to be killed and put women in harm’s way.”

Sen. Tara Durrant, R-27, suggested a sensible change to make sure the proposed amendment wouldn't mess with or challenge Virginia's Parental Consent law. Sen. Emily Jordan, R-17, tried to tweak SJ 247 to let lawmakers pass bills that would protect babies who survive abortions by ensuring they get the medical care they need.

Some Senators pointed out the risks of passing a resolution that might lead to lawsuits against the few sensible pro-life laws still standing in Virginia. In other states, similar changes have resulted in court decisions that wiped out all pro-life laws there.

Sen. Mark Obenshain, R-2, called out supporters of the amendment for not protecting parental rights and the safety of young girls, urging them to accept the reasonable changes proposed by Republican members. He also noted that Constitutional Amendments always override regular laws in Virginia, suggesting that even the partial-birth amendment could be overturned, leaving other laws vulnerable to legal challenges.

“Democrats rejected the two rational amendments offered proving that they have no interest in protecting teens or parents’ rights,” said Gans Turner. “These members are clearly committed to the abortion industry over the lives of those affected by this extreme amendment.”

CIA employee who leaked classified docs re: Israel's plans to strike Iran will plead guilty

Well, here we have another fine example of how the internal workings of the intelligence community can become as leaky as a sieve. As if William Rahman, a CIA employee since 2016, decided it was his personal mission to become the unofficial town crier of classified information. On Friday, he pleaded guilty to charges that he not only retained but also merrily transmitted national defense secrets, according to the US Department of Justice.

In his own words, or rather, in the legal confession that he made, Rahman admitted to having downloaded, printed, and distributed classified documents. Not once, but several times throughout 2024. In the spring, he was caught with his hands in the cookie jar of secrets, printing five documents labeled 'secret' and 'top secret', taking them home like they were his personal reading material. He then engaged in a bit of home-based espionage, altering these documents before distributing them to those who had no legal right to see them.

To cover his tracks, he deleted his digital footprints, returned the documents to the CIA for shredding, and presumably patted himself on the back for his cleverness. But, as autumn turned the leaves, he repeated this performance, this time with ten more top-secret documents.

The plot thickens—or rather, the leak widens—on October 17, 2024, when he printed two documents detailing Israel's plans to strike Iran. These plans, which were supposed to stay within the confines of secure briefings, found themselves on the internet, courtesy of a pro-Iranian Telegram channel named "Middle East Spectator".

Rahman, aged 34, from Vienna, Virginia, now faces the consequences of his actions in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. One wonders if the irony of leaking secrets to protect one's own secrets is lost on him.

This case is not just about one man's indiscretions; it's a stark reminder of the fragility of our security apparatus when individuals decide to play fast and loose with national secrets. It's a narrative that could be straight out of a spy novel, if only it weren't so disturbingly real.

You won't believe the sentence illegal alien got for raping 13-year-old Virginia girl

A Biden administration illegal alien who raped a 13-year-old girl in Virginia was found guilty and given a prison sentence. 

As of 2021, under Virginia law (specifically Code § 18.2-61) the normal sentencing for rape of a child under the age 13 years of age can result in a term of not less than 25 years in prison. However, this illegal alien was given a five-year prison sentence, according to a KFOX14 report.

You heard it right: five years.

If this POS, Jhoan Essau Lemus-Ramos was, say a white male Trump supporter, I suspect that he would have gotten the maximum under Virginia law.

The crime was committed in Herndon in 2022, a year after he illegally came across the border and entered into the United States. 

After the rape, the POS asked the child to send him naked photos of herself and later used them to threaten and force her to have sex with him.

"Jhoan Esau Lemus-Ramos represented a significant threat to the children of our Virginia communities,” ERO Washington, D.C. Field Office Director Liana Castano said in a statement to the outlet. “He not only traumatized his young victim by forcing himself on her; he also harassed her into sending him compromising images of her.”

Additionally, the illegal alien punched an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office in the eye when he was being arrested. But let's not forget, he's a guest in our country and allowances must be made.

Upon his apprehension, Lemus Ramos assaulted one of our officers. ERO Washington, D.C. will continue to prioritize public safety by apprehending and removing the most egregious noncitizen offenders from our neighborhoods,” Castano explained.

Five years. And Joe Biden is still running for a second term.

The Republican Virginia Lt. Gov. says "Yes sir" to senator who thinks he's a woman: Dems have a cow

Gender dysphoric man grows hair long, changes name,  believes he's a woman

Words hurt worse than knives or guns. If you call a mentally ill person suffering with gender dysphoria by their correct sex you hurt that person and everyone else in his or her political party. 

Safe spaces are needed to protect these vulnerable people from sounds created by those who 'follow the science' and can use science to frighten those people into a state of shock and horror. We call these vulnerable ones by several different names: woke, transgender, progressives, Democrats, leftists, communists, and Rear Admiral Rachel Levine.

Democrats in the Virginia state Senate had a cow on Monday when Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears, a Black Republican woman was asked a question by a man with long hair, a deep voice, wearing a dress and a pair of testicles, and answered him with, "Yes, sir."

Oh the horror!

Sen. Danica Roem [who may have taken the name from race car driver Danica Patrick] thinks he's a woman, but lo, he is not. When Lt. Gov. Sears absentmindedly responded "yes sir," to his deep voice question, Roem sashayed out of the Senate and evidently had a hissy-fit.

Here's how the exchange went over the mundane bill:

ROEM: Madam president, how many votes would it take to pass this bill with the emergency clause?

SEARS: That would be four-fifths.

ROEM: And what would be the exact number for that madam president?

SEARS: Yes, sir, that would be 32. Those in favor of that motion shall record their votes aye.” 

After Roem left, Sears recognized Sen. Ghazala Hashmi, who was next on the agenda to describe the following bill. But Hashmi was mute, refusing to speak. Several lunatic Democrats began leaving the room, refusing to do what they were elected to do by the people of the state of Virginia. They didn't care--they would still get paid.

Sen. Scott Surovell then said, “I think I’d ask that we take a recess for five minutes.”

Seven minutes later, the body reconvened, and Lt. Gov. Sears said, “The chair again recognizes Sen. Hashmi, the senator from Chesterfield.” But Hashmi remained mute, and Sears put the Senate back in recess.

Three minutes later, the hearing again resumed. Sears seemed somewhat irritated but measured.

“I said something that upset Sen. Roem. Let it be known I am not here to upset anyone. I am here to do the job that the people of Virginia have called me to do and that is to treat everyone with respect and dignity. I myself have at times not been afforded that same respect and dignity, but in this body and as long as I am president of the Senate and by the grace of God, I will be treated with respect and dignity and I will treat everyone else with respect and dignity.”

She said she frequently calls people by the wrong names, noting that she had just mistakenly put “the House” into recess instead of the Senate. “I apologize. And I would hope that everyone would understand there is no intent to offend.”

Hashmi finally did what the taxpayers pay her to do: she discussed the bill.

The Democratic Party of Virginia refused to accept Sears’ apology, writing on X, “We will not forget this smear.” Several said they could not eat or even chew gum and predicted that sleeping would be difficult. A few said they planned to discuss this "mis-gendering" with their therapists and some openly wept to think that a man would be called 'sir' when he wants to be called 'madam.'

Earlier this month, Hashmi’s education committee killed Sage’s Law, a bill passed by the House of Delegates last session that would prevent schools from hiding a child’s gender transition from their parents. It is named after Sage, a girl who was trafficked from rural Virginia to Baltimore and raped by a registered sex offender after going through trouble at school that her parents knew nothing about, and after school staff allegedly repeatedly encouraged her to transition. 

After the FBI rescued her from the sex trafficker, Baltimore placed her into a group home full of Baltimore’s roughest male youths. After her mother rescued her, she later said she was not actually transgender. [H/T Daily Wire]

The Virginia education department has finalized a rule requiring all public schools to get the permission of the students' parents before cooperating with their child to identify as the opposite sex. So if Mary wants to be called Marty, and Jimmy wants to be called Jenny, the school staff must ask permission of their parents to do so. Naturally, there will be some parents who think it makes them look woke and tres cool to have a gender dysphoric kid, but most parents might feel otherwise. In fact, schools that have allowed misidentification of the student's gender in the past, have typically withheld the child's disorder from the parents, so this bill will allow parents to be parents.

The new policies were released on Tuesday prohibiting schools from going along with student's request to use a different name or pronoun unless the parent provides the school with written permission. Worse for the woke, students can only play on school sports teams and use school toilets that match their biological sex. 

“All children in Virginia deserve to have a parent engaged in their life and to be treated with dignity and respect,” Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin  said regarding the new policies.

“The VDOE updated model policies reaffirm my administration’s continued commitment to ensure that every parent is involved in conversations regarding their child’s education, upbringing, and care. Public comment, input, and concerns were carefully evaluated and assessed to formulate the updated model policies. The Department of Education has delivered policies that empower parents, prohibit discrimination, create a safe and vibrant learning environment by addressing bullying incidents immediately, and protect the privacy and dignity of all students through bathroom policies, athletic procedures, and student identification measures,” Youngkin said.

Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. Lisa Coons said the new policies “provide families the opportunity to weigh in on their child’s decisions and be a partner in their education.” This should be a no-brainer for all parents, but somehow the woke don't agree.

“We are elevating parents and giving them a seat at the table,” Coons said, although it was never up to any outside organization to 'elevate parents' as they have always been the primary decision-makers of their developing offspring. 

But Coons meant well.

Parental rights advocates applauded the new policies.

Parents Defending Education Action praised the governor, as well as parent advocates, for the “huge win.”

“In the face of threats, including from public officials, Virginia parents have stood strong. They continue to fight for their kids. These policies are a huge win for those parents, and they should be so proud of their courage and their efforts,” Alex Nester, the political director of Parents Defending Education Action, told the Washington Examiner.

The policies were first proposed by Youngkin’s administration in September.

Some student activists around the state reacted by protesting the proposed policies because it takes away their power of manipulating children to do as they suggest.

It's good to see sanity being restored across the country, one step at a time.
