Murder-Suicide by Prominent Former Democrat Ends Ugly Divorce

Former Democratic lieutenant governor of Virginia Justin Fairfax murdered his wife before committing suicide overnight, police said Thursday.  Not a good look for the former Democrat.

Police believe Fairfax shot his wife Cerina after a domestic incident at their home in Annandale, Virginia, just outside of Washington, D.C. Police waited hours to release the identities while they said they notified next of kin.

"Former Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax shot and killed his wife inside of their home, and then shot and killed himself," police said Thursday, adding that the couple was in the middle of a messy divorce.

Police said that Fairfax and his wife were in the middle of an "ongoing domestic dispute" surrounding a "complicated or messy divorce." They added that he was recently served some paperwork for an upcoming proceeding and that "apparently led to this incident last night."

In January 2026, Fairfax claimed that he was assaulted by his wife and police were called to the home. That claim was not true, police said, adding that Cerina put cameras up throughout the house and proved the former Democrat was a liar, not uncommon with the left.

Local outlet Fox5 reported that the first call to report the incident came shortly after midnight from someone who said he believed his father had stabbed his mother. Police arrived and found a woman unconscious and bleeding, discovering that she had been shot. The caller did not know where their father was, but police later found him dead in another part of the house.

The house was later identified as belonging to Fairfax and there were reportedly multiple people inside the house at the time of the suspected murder-suicide. Fairfax had two children, both teenagers, who were in the house at the time of the murder. One of the children was the person who called the police.

The first information about the killing began trickling in shortly after midnight when police posted an alert on their investigation.

"Shortly after midnight, officers responded to the 8100 block of Guinevere Drive in Annandale, where they located an adult male and an adult female deceased inside of a residence. Preliminarily, it appears that the adult male shot the adult female before shooting himself in a domestic related incident. We were withholding the identities of the individuals until next of kin can be notified."

Police added that "all parties are accounted for and there is no threat to the community." Fairfax was the lieutenant governor of Virginia from 2018 to 2022 and faced sexual assault allegations in 2019 shortly after images of then Democratic Governor Ralph Northam wearing blackface emerged. [You remember Ralphy Boy--he's the guy who suggested keeping an unwanted baby, a baby who was accidentally admitted through the mother's birth canal and thus entered the outside world, to make the infant comfortable while the doctor and mother decide whether or not to kill him or her.]

The FBI later conducted an investigation into how the allegations surfaced against Northam and probed whether they were politically motivated.

Fairfax later ran for governor in 2021, but did not make it out of the Democratic primary. During his time in office, he pushed for gun control, [seriously] including restrictions on magazine capacity and so-called assault rifles. He also supported abortion and raising the minimum wage. 

Hypocrisy much?

Yes, this is yet another grim chapter in the long, sordid saga of Democratic hypocrisy in Virginia. Here was Justin Fairfax, the guy who spent his time in office lecturing everyone about gun control and pushing hard for magazine bans and assault weapon restrictions, only to apparently turn a firearm on his own wife in the middle of a nasty divorce before offing himself. The same man who rode into office on a wave of progressive promises now leaves behind a trail of tragedy that no amount of political posturing could hide.

And let's not forget the context. Fairfax's political career was already teetering after those 2019 sexual assault allegations that nearly derailed the entire Democratic ticket alongside Ralph Northam's blackface scandal. He tried to claw his way back with a gubernatorial bid in 2021, but Democrats tossed him aside in the primary. Now this. 

The party that loves to moralize about domestic violence and "toxic masculinity" has to reckon with one of its own once again.

The details are chilling: teenage kids in the house, one of them making the desperate 911 call thinking it was a stabbing, cameras installed because of prior false claims, and an "ongoing domestic dispute" tied to divorce papers that apparently set it all off. Police did their job notifying next of kin before naming names, but the facts are now out there for everyone to see.

This is not just a personal tragedy. It is a stark reminder of the failures and contradictions within the political class that claims to have all the answers on everything from guns to family issues. Fairfax wanted to disarm law-abiding citizens while his own home descended into chaos. 

The left will no doubt try to memory-hole this one as quickly as possible, but the quotes from police and the timeline speak for themselves. Another day, another example of elite hypocrisy ending in heartbreak.

Pelosi: Va. scandals are how we roll

House Speaker Nancy "Dancing Hands" Pelosi (D-CA) poo-pooed the notion that all the Democrat scandals coming out of Virginia is any kind of big deal on the party's national brand.

Fox News' Chad Pergram asked the dentured Democrat, "With everything that's been going on with Virginia, the governor, the attorney general here ... does that filter down and damage the national Democratic brand in any way?"

"No, it does not," Pelosi responded. "They will resolve — the Virginians will resolve their issues, ooh my dentures, there we go, that they have there. It's sad because they have some very talented blackface leaders and a possible sexual assaulter there, but they have to have the confidence of the electorate and they have to have the confidence of the legislature that they have to work with and so on and so forth and such like that. But I'll leave that up to them. I have enough to do here without getting involved in the affairs, no pun intended insofar as Mr. Fairfax is concerned, of Virginia."

All three statewide elected Democratic officials in Virginia are up to their eyeballs in scandals, centered on either wearing blackface or two, so far, sexual assault accusations against Justin Fairfax, the Lieutenant Governor.

Gov. Ralph Northam (D.) started the wave of lesser scandals when a photo surfaced last Friday showing a man in a Ku Klux Klan hood next to a man wearing blackface. The photo was included on a page dedicated to Northam in his Eastern Virginia Medical School yearbook. Northam apologized for the photo at first, but then during a press conference, denied he was one of the individuals in the photo. 

The bigger scandal was Northam's approval of infanticide. In fact, it's quite possible that the blackface scandal was a way of deflecting from the acceptance of murder, but this got lost in the message the GOP needs to focus on. Northam matter-of-factly described on radio how after a baby was delivered, it would be made comfortable while the mother and abortion doctor discuss whether to kill it or not.

Justin Fairfax (D) faces a sexual assault allegation by Vanessa Tyson, an associate professor of politics at Scripps College in Claremont, California, came forward publicly as the woman accusing Fairfax of sexually assaulting her in 2004 at the Democratic National Convention. Fairfax has denied the allegation, saying he and the woman were intimate in a consensual way during the convention. 

Fairfax released a new statement on Wednesday whereby he continued to deny the allegation but also stated that women don't make such allegations "lightly." The statement came before NBC reported Fairfax said "f**k that b**ch" when talking about Tyson in a private meeting. Fairfax's chief of staff has denied his boss used that language in reference to Tyson but he's a liar too.

A second allegation came to light afterward. Meredith Watson and Fairfax both attended Duke in 2000 and the two were friends but not romantically or sexually involved. She alleges that he assaulted her and that it was "premeditated and aggressive." She kept emails to her friends at the time about the incident. Fairfax may be toast.

It is not known whether Fairfax also wanted someone to "f**k that b**ch," but if so, it will be denied.

Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring admitted Wednesday he too wore blackface for a college party back in 1980. He apologized for his actions and called it the "greatest shame" he has ever felt.

When Northam's scandal broke days before, Herring called on the governor to resign. Herring said he would have conversations with leaders around the state to determine if it makes sense for him to continue serving as attorney general.

All three officials have yet to give any sign they will resign their post.

And then there were four as we discovered when Va. Rep. Bobby Scott, we learned, knew about the sexual assault allegations brought by his friend, Vanessa Tyson, because she told him in 2017 what Fairfax allegedly did to her, and he did nothing about it.

But the next person in line to take over the Virginia governorship is a Republican and the press, which is a wing of the Democratic Party, will do all it can to protect the party.

So Pelosi isn't worried. Northam will probably stay and maybe Fairfax will go because of the #MeToo movement. It's politics, folks. It's all about votes and power. Scott, I suspect, will be forgotten along with Herring.

But one thing for certain, the Democrats will not bow to morals or ethics because it would mean having to give up the governor's seat.

BREAKING: Yes Virginia, there is a GOP Santa Claus

A fourth Democrat is now caught up in yet another scandal in Virginia. Soon the state will need to find someone who has never left their house except to flip burgers or some such thing, because it's beginning to look a lot like every Democratic political operative in the state is a scumcrumpet.

ABC News now reports that Rep. Bobby Scott (D-VA) was aware of the allegations directly from Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax's accuser, Dr. Vanessa Tyson, "who on Wednesday released a statement detailing the alleged 2004 assault, which took place at the Democratic National Convention in Boston."

"Allegations of sexual assault need to be taken seriously," Scott said in a statement to ABC News. "I have known Professor Tyson for approximately a decade and she is a friend. She deserves the opportunity to have her story heard."

Aides to Scott told ABC News that Tyson revealed the incident to Scott on October 20, 2017, and that she was "not a fan" of Fairfax, who at the time was a candidate for Virginia Lieutenant Governor.

In November 2017, Tyson continued to speak to Scott of her dislike for Fairfax  and told Scott that she wanted to "talk about it" with him.

The following month, Tyson allegedly told Scott that Fairfax had a "MeToo allegation," and over the next month, Scott's aides learned that Tyson was the alleged victim.

On Wednesday, Tyson released the following statement regarding Fairfax:

On the night of Friday, February 1, 2019, I read multiple news accounts indicating that Virginia Lt. Governor Justin Fairfax would likely be elevated to Governor as an immediate result of a scandal involving Governor Ralph Northam. This news flooded me with painful memories, bringing back feelings of grief, shame, and anger that stemmed from an incident with Mr. Fairfax that occurred in July 2004 during the Democratic National Convention in Boston. 

I met Mr. Fairfax on July 26, 2004, when he and I were working at the Convention. We struck up a conversation on the first day of the Convention and soon realized we had a mutual friend. We crossed paths occasionally during the first two days and our interactions were cordial, but not flirtatious. We commiserated about our long work hours, and on the afternoon of the third day of the Convention, July 28, 2004, Mr. Fairfax suggested that I get some fresh air by accompanying him on a quick errand to retrieve documents from his room in a nearby hotel. Given our interactions up to that time, I had no reason to feel threatened and agreed to walk with him to his hotel. I stood in the entryway of the room and after he located the documents, he walked over and kissed me. Although surprised by his advance, it was not unwelcome and I kissed him back. He then took my hand and pulled me towards the bed. I was fully clothed in a pantsuit and had no intention of taking my clothes off or engaging in sexual activity. In the back of my mind, I also knew I needed to return to Convention headquarters. 

What began as consensual kissing quickly turned into a sexual assault. Mr. Fairfax put his hand behind my neck and forcefully pushed my head towards his crotch. Only then did I realize that he had unbuckled his belt, unzipped his pants, and taken out his penis. He then forced his penis into my mouth. Utterly shocked and terrified, I tried to move my head away, but could not because his hand was holding down my neck and he was much stronger than me. As I cried and gagged, Mr. Fairfax forced me to perform oral sex on him. I cannot believe, given my obvious distress, that Mr. Fairfax thought this forced sexual act was consensual. To be very clear, I did not want to engage in oral sex with Mr. Fairfax and I never gave any form of consent. Quite the opposite. I consciously avoided Mr. Fairfax for the remainder of the Convention and I never spoke to him again.

ABC News further noted that Dr. Tyson "hired the legal services of Katz, Marshall and Banks, the same law firm that was retained by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, the hardly credible California psychology professor who accused Brett Kavanaugh, then-President Trump's nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court, of sexual misconduct."

Anyone want to be governor?

Northam now says it wasn't him in the yearbook KKK photo--but he has a history

Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam said in a press conference on Saturday that he is not the person in his yearbook photo page depicting a man in blackface and another in full KKK regalia. Yesterday he admitted that it was him.

He said he once wore blackface in a Michael Jackson contest where he used shoe polish and did the "Moonwalk" to win first place. He remembers that vividly, but didn't initially remember that he wasn't in the racist photo.

What he didn't mention was a televised debate in the Lieutenant Governor's race in which he refuses to shake the hand of his black opponent, E.W. Jackson. He can make any excuse he wants to make, but the short video clearly shows Northam not responding to Jackson's offer of a handshake.

“It was insulting, but, on the other hand, I thought it was consistent with the way he behaves. Because, this spot he’s been running, saying that I believe that a child born with birth defects is born that way because of their parents’ sin is just a damnable, palpable, despicable lie. I don’t believe that. I never said anything like that. And it’s that kind of dishonesty that, to me, says this is not the kind of person that needs to be holding state-wide office. Not shaking my hand really just confirmed that,” E.W. Jackson said in the interview. 

But Northam is willing to kill a child born with birth defects that don't threaten its life. He is willing to kill a child after it's born if the mother and doctor agree that it should die. He fully supported the failed bill by Del. Kathy Tran that allows for abortion right up to the minute of birth and even after it passes through the birth canal, still undocumented as a person, but still a person, nevertheless. 

This is Northam's worst sin. His clearest indication of a lack of morality.

He spoke at the news conference where reporters actually asked him tough questions. It seems even the left wants him to go, not because of his stance on killing babies, but on the yearbook showing him to be a racist. They're both horrible, but killing babies is worse by far and the media never asked him about that. 

The thing is, if he's forced out or resigns, he has another Democrat to take his place. Justin E. Fairfax, only the second black person to hold a statewide office in Virginia, whose stance on liberal issues is within the Party line.

Fairfax is a 39-year-old Democrat and a former federal prosecutor. He attended Duke University and Columbia University. Some of the issues he supports are:

Prison reform, tighter gun control , campaign donation limits, Obamacare, increased taxes on infrastructure, and of course, Planned Parenthood. He was called by PP one of several "stalwart proponents of access to women's health" who "has taken bold actions in support of Planned Parenthood."

So, like Northam, he is in favor of killing the unwanted babies that are born in the state. If Northam resigns, Fairfax would become governor.

Northam says he is not the person in the racist yearbook photo, but acknowledges darkening face for another party and doing the "Moonwalk" like Michael Jackson.

"When I was confronted with the image, I was appalled that it appeared on my page, but I believed then and I believe now that I am not either of the people in that photograph," Northam said at a press conference at the governor's mansion.

He apologized for the picture appearing on his page, calling the image "offensive" and "racist," but said that he had nothing to do with the preparation of the yearbook, nor did he buy it. Of course, you'd think he would have at least looked at it before deciding not to buy it, but maybe he's telling the truth, and maybe O.J. was innocent.

He acknowledged that he had initially admitted the picture was him, but said that "in the hours since I made my statement, I reflected with family and classmates from that time and it affirmed my conclusion that I am not the person in that photograph." He also reflected that he needed the job as governor because he obviously sucked at being a doctor that saves lives.

Northam said that while he did not attend that party where the picture was taken, he did attend a party the same year in which he said he "darkened my face as part of a Michael Jackson costume." He said he used black shoe polish--but it seems to me that black was not the color of Michael Jackson when he was moonwalking with little kids.

He also said that he did not expect Virginians to believe him immediately or to forgive his actions right away: "I am just asking for that ability to demonstrate that the person I was is not the man I am today."

And Virginians aren't all that gullible.
