Iran’s Iron Fist Tightens: A Regime’s Ruthless Pivot from War to Repression

In the wake of a ceasefire with Israel, the Islamic Republic of Iran has turned its gaze inward, unleashing a campaign of mass arrests, executions, and military deployments with a ferocity that betrays its paranoia. The focus, as ever, is on the restive Kurdish region, where the regime’s iron grip seeks to crush any flicker of dissent. This is not governance; it is tyranny dressed in the garb of national security.

The moment Israel’s airstrikes began on June 13, Iran’s security apparatus sprang into action, not to defend the nation, but to suffocate it. Checkpoints mushroomed across cities, manned by the regime’s enforcers, while widespread arrests swept up anyone deemed a threat. As officials and activists report, the streets are now a gauntlet of suspicion, where the mere act of existing invites scrutiny.

Some in Israel, alongside exiled opposition groups, dared to hope that the bombardment, targeting the Revolutionary Guards, internal security forces, and nuclear sites might ignite a popular uprising to topple the Islamic Republic. A naive dream, perhaps.

Reuters spoke to Iranians seething at their government’s policies, which they blame for inviting Israel’s wrath. Yet the streets remain eerily silent, devoid of the mass protests that might have shaken Tehran’s theocrats. Why? Because fear is a powerful silencer.

A senior Iranian security official, alongside two others privy to the regime’s inner workings, reveals the truth: the authorities are obsessed with the specter of internal unrest, particularly in the Kurdish regions.

The Revolutionary Guards and their Basij paramilitary lackeys have been placed on high alert, their mission no longer external defense but the suppression of their own people. The official’s words are telling: the regime fears Israeli agents, ethnic separatists, and the exiled People’s Mujahideen Organization, which has struck at the heart of Iran before. This is a government that sees enemies in every shadow.

Activists within Iran are forced into the shadows themselves. “We are being extremely cautious right now because there’s a real concern the regime might use this situation as a pretext,” said a rights activist in Tehran, his voice scarred by memories of imprisonment during the 2022 protests. He speaks of dozens summoned by the authorities, either jailed or intimidated into silence.

The Iranian rights group HRNA reports a staggering 705 arrests on political or security charges since the war’s onset. Many are accused of spying for Israel, a convenient catch-all for dissent. On Tuesday, state media crowed about three executions in Urmia, near Turkey’s border. The Iranian-Kurdish group Hengaw confirms the victims were Kurds, their deaths a grim message to a restive minority.

Iran’s Foreign and Interior Ministries, predictably, offer no comment.

The regime’s tactics are as methodical as they are brutal.

One official briefed on security operations admits troops have been dispatched to the borders with Pakistan, Iraq, and Azerbaijan, ostensibly to block “terrorists.” Another acknowledges the mass arrests, a bureaucratic shrug to the erosion of liberty. Iran’s Sunni Kurdish and Baluch minorities, long thorns in the side of the Shi’ite, Persian-speaking elite, are particular targets. Their grievances against Tehran’s rule are not new, but the regime’s response is unrelenting.

Kurdish separatist groups, based in Iraqi Kurdistan, report a wave of arrests targeting their activists and fighters. Ribaz Khalili of the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (KDPI) describes Revolutionary Guards units occupying schools in Iran’s Kurdish provinces within three days of Israel’s strikes, conducting house-to-house searches for suspects and weapons. The Guards have fortified their positions, evacuating industrial zones near their barracks and commandeering major roads in Kermanshah and Sanandaj for reinforcements. This is not defense; it is occupation.

Fatma Ahmed, a cadre of the Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK), claims over 500 opposition members have been detained in Kurdish provinces since the airstrikes began. She, alongside an anonymous official from the Kurdish Komala party, paints a picture of a region under siege: checkpoints proliferate, where citizens endure physical searches and have their phones and documents scrutinized.

This is a regime that fears not just rebellion, but the very tools of communication that might spark it.

Iran’s rulers, cloaked in their self-righteous dogma, have revealed their true face: a regime that survives not by legitimacy but by coercion. The ceasefire with Israel has not brought peace to Iran’s people, only a deeper descent into oppression. The world watches, but the question remains: how long can a nation endure such a yoke before it breaks?

IAF conducts largest airstrike in Syria since January

Israel recently launched its biggest airstrike in Syria since January 8th of this year.

From Monday night into early Tuesday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) attacked dozens of military targets tied to Syria’s new leader, Interim President Ahmad al-Sharaa. The IDF hit radar stations, air defense systems, weapons storage sites, and military bases in southern Syria. They said these targets belonged to the new government and were a danger to Israel.

The IDF explained, "the presence of these systems in southern Syria poses a threat to Israel and to IDF operations. These targets were struck to eliminate future threats." This was the largest Israeli military operation in Syria in a while, aimed at stopping the new Syrian government from growing stronger.

Syrian news reported that the strikes hit military posts near Damascus, including the towns of Sa’sa and Qatana, as well as old bases in the Daraa region and the 90th Brigade in Quneitra. More attacks happened near Homs and by the Lebanese border. At least 41 airstrikes were counted just around Damascus.

Ron Ben-Yishai, a security expert from Ynet, said a recent attack by al-Sharaa’s forces on Alawite cities in western Syria made Israel see the new government as a growing problem. Israel worries not just about jihadist groups in Syria but also about the country becoming unstable, which could let Turkey increase its military power there.

A big concern for Israel is that groups like Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad might use Syria to attack Israeli towns in the Golan Heights and Upper Galilee. Forces loyal to al-Sharaa have freed senior terrorists from these groups, who were jailed by the old leader, Bashar Assad, to stop them from targeting Israel. Now, there’s fear these terrorists are planning new attacks. Another worry is that Turkey might start arming and training jihadist fighters who support al-Sharaa.

To deal with these risks, Israel is trying to control what happens in southern Syria so the new government can’t get too strong near its border. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz have said they won’t let regime-backed fighters or armed Sunni jihadists get close to the Syrian Golan. Many empty Syrian military bases in the area still have weapons, which could end up with dangerous groups.

If you would like to support my work, you can Buy Me A Coffee. Thank you.

Meanwhile, al-Sharaa is working to solidify his power. On Monday night, he made a deal with the leader of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to bring Kurdish fighters into Syria’s government and army. This came after a meeting with SDF leaders, who are supported by the United States.

The deal happened because the Kurds were left out of last month’s "National Dialogue Conference," which was meant to plan Syria’s future. Al-Sharaa’s office said the agreement shows "the unity of Syrian territory and the rejection of its division." The SDF promised to help Syria fight leftover Assad forces and other threats. This deal ends any chance of the Kurds creating their own country in Syria, since they agreed to keep Syria whole.

Syria's new textbooks still crazy after all these centuries

Note the arm gesture

Let us cast an unflinching eye upon the new schoolbooks emerging from Syria, shall we? There is something deeply troubling afoot. "In the new schoolbooks, the role of women in Arab history is being deliberately downplayed; Islam relegates women to a lower rank than men."

So it is written, and so it appears to be.

Figures such as Nazik al-Abid—once hailed as the “Joan of Arc of the Arabs” for her courageous stand for women’s rights—are now scrubbed from the pages. Queen Zenobia, that towering figure of the 3rd century, is dismissed as a relic of the Jahaliyya, the Time of Ignorance, unworthy of emulation. And Khawla bint al-Azwar, the fierce warrior of the Rashidun era who dared to believe Ali was the first rightful caliph, finds no favor in the uber-Sunni sanctum of Damascus. A Shia in all but name, she is cast out of this new pedagogical pantheon.

The excision does not stop there.

The Assad dynasty, both father and son, has been predictably erased from any hint of praise, direct or oblique. Yet when it comes to Israel and the Jews, the venom remains untouched.

"Multiple maps in a geography textbook for 14 – 15-year-olds present all of Israel’s internationally recognized territory as Palestine." The Golan Heights, firmly under Israeli control, are brazenly claimed as Syrian, while the cover flaunts an image of the Sea of Galilee—nestled within Israel’s borders—as though to whisper that it, too, might belong to Syria.

Does Israel exist within its 1949 armistice lines in these texts, or has it been obliterated entirely? The answer is murky, but what is crystal clear is this: the Israel of today finds no reflection in these maps.

And then there is the matter of science—or its absence.

"An entire chapter in a biology textbook for 13 – 14-year-olds on evolution has been removed." Why? Because evolution, we are told, is merely a “theory,” one that clashes with the immutable truths of Islamic doctrine. Best to shield the young minds from its seductive heresies until they can be sufficiently armored with faith. Secularism, it seems, is an unwelcome guest in this new scholastic order.

But it is in the reframing of “martyrdom” that the shift becomes most chilling.

"‘Martyrdom’ will be reframed in the new textbooks from a national to a religious perspective." Out goes the notion of “a person giving away his soul to defend his homeland”; in its place, 10 grade pupils will now be taught of “a person giving away his soul for the sake of Allah.” The homeland of Syria fades into irrelevance; the call is now to martyrdom for Islam itself—to expand the umma, to strike down the infidels.

Take Dalia al-Mughrabi, for instance, enshrined in these pages as a paragon of virtue. She, who in 1978 helped slaughter 38 Israeli civilians, including 13 children, in the Coastal Road Massacre, is held aloft as a model to emulate.

If this is the education of the young, what future can we expect?

Behind this lurks the shadow of Turkey, Erdogan’s hand guiding the rise of HTS and its leader, al-Jolani, in their war against Assad. Ankara remains the principal foreign patron of this new Damascus regime—though one wonders how long that alliance will hold if Turkey insists on lingering in northern Syria to keep the Kurds in check.

For now, the Ottoman legacy is gently rebranded: what was once an “occupation” in Assad’s textbooks is now a neutral “regime,” a semantic sleight of hand to appease a friend. Syria itself, as a nation, recedes from view; the spotlight falls instead on Islam and the global umma. The old hatreds endure—Jews and Western powers, those “warmongers and exploiters who suck the ‘blood of the innocents,’” remain the perennial enemies.

Al-Jolani may speak soothing words, pledging to disarm militias and forge a national army, disavowing any intent to challenge Israel’s recent gains on the Syrian Golan. And yet here are these textbooks, freshly minted, steeped ever deeper in an Islamic fervor that will shape the next generation. "Statements against Jews remain, as do those against all the Western powers." Many of these children, fed this diet of piety and prejudice, will surely emerge as jihadis—foot soldiers in a war without end.

The Israelis, wisely, keep their distance, unmoved by al-Jolani’s supposed overtures. They are right to hesitate.

If you seek the reason, look no further than these schoolbooks. Impact-se has laid it bare: what has been kept, what has been altered, and what has worsened. This is not a curriculum of peace; it is a blueprint for something far darker. We would do well to take note and stay strong.

Kurds say Iran faked an attack on Mossad base in Iraq

The Kurds said that a pro-Iranian media piece that claimed an attack on a "Mossad base in Iraq" was as fake as a prostitute's undying love.

The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) in northern Iraq issued a statement that debunked the pro-Iranian news report that said an attack on an Israeli Mossad facility killed several Israelis, the Times of Israel reported Wednesday.

“We can confirm that news reports about an attack on an Israeli intelligence facility in the region are false,” the KRG statement said, adding that there are “Mossad bases” in the Kurdistan Region of northern Iraq.

Iran’s FARS news reported that the Iraqi Sabereen News outlet had claimed in a report Tuesday that “a Mossad center came under attack by unknown resistance forces … adding that the attack resulted in the death and injury of a number of Israeli forces, including a senior officer, dealing a ‘heavy blow’ to the regime and its spy agency.”

Fortunately, no Israelis were hurt in making up the story.

Not surprisingly, the report contained no details about the attack and raised serious doubts about its veracity.

The Washington Institute for Near East Policy (WINEP) notes that Sabereen News is “the most influential muqawama [resistance]” news source whose goals include “spreading disinformation for a variety of purposes, including to discredit the Iraqi government” as well as to incite muqawama supporters, propagate anti U.S sentiment and “promote and disseminate real and fake news.”

The Kurds occupy an important geo-strategic location in northern Iraq and the area has been been Iraq’s most stable region. The Kurds have been a steadfast partner to the US for nearly three decades and have played a critical role in countering threats from groups like ISIS and al-Qaeda, says WINEP.

Sabereen News may be a sister outlet to CNN, anonymous sources say.

Jihadi Jack seen on TV in Syrian jail by his mommy and daddy

He has lost a lot of weight and was seen lying on a dirty floor in an overcrowded jail in northern Syria. His name is Jack Letts, and he comes from merry old England. But he left his country to join Islamic State (ISIS) in the hopes of beheading infidels and maybe even burning captured prisoners. Unfortunately for him, he became the captured prisoner and will not be burning or beheading anyone in the future.

They call him "Jihadi Jack," and he was seen in an orange jumpsuit along with a group of fellow scumcrumpets with the same religious leanings, on the telly, as they refer to the boob tube in Britain. He and his colleagues from hell were captured by Kurdish militia. [H/T Daily Mail]

Jihadi Jack is a 23-year-old Muslim convert from Oxfordshire. He brilliantly declared himself an "enemy of Britain" and secreted off to the Middle East to join ISIS and kill some Christians and atheists. He was rightfully stripped of his UK citizenship and this, not his intentions of killing, have his mommy and daddy upset.

This week, Jihadi Jack's mother Sally Lane pleaded to let Letts  return and face trial in Britain so that he can be rescued from the conditions in which he is being held: a dirty toilet that frequently gets stuffed up; only lukewarm water to wash with; a Koran that was handed by an unclean kuffar; 35 fellow farting cellmates; and hospital-style food.

The Home Office has dismissed her plea.

Seeing the first images of Letts in his cell since he was taken prisoner two years ago, she told The Daily Mail on Sunday: 'It's heart-rending to see your son like this and to feel so completely powerless."

It's also heart-rending to watch a group of Christians tied up and marched onto a beach and then have their heads cut off.

"We have been pressing the Red Cross for months to tell us what the jail is really like, but they always refuse, saying that to release this information would jeopardise their access," his mother said.

Syria reassured her that in spite of the jail sucking as it does, it is still better than the jail a Jordanian pilot was locked in and then set on fire by Letts' colleagues several years ago.

Letts left his middle-class life to join ISIS in 2014 but now that he was captured he denies ever being a fighter. He denounced ISIS as "un-Islamic" in social media posts and escaped Raqqa, the caliphate's capital in May 2017.

He denies ever being a fighter. After denouncing IS as 'un-Islamic' in social media posts, he managed to escape from the caliphate's capital Raqqa in May 2017.

Since then he has been held by the Kurdish YPG militia at the prison in the photos – believed to be in the city of Qamishli. He has not been charged or put on trial.

Sally and her husband, organic farmer John Letts, were convicted at the Old Bailey in June of supporting terrorism by sending Jack £223 in 2015, and found not guilty for trying to wire him a further £1,500 to pay a people smuggler to try to get him out.

They were given suspended sentences, so screw them and their pleas.

In one of his last acts as Home Secretary, Chancellor Sajid Javid revoked Jack's UK citizenship earlier this year. Letts is still a citizen of Canada, where his father comes from, eh.

Sally, 57, spotted her son Jihadi Jack in the photo last week, after the Kurds allowed TV stations on both sides of the Atlantic to broadcast film from the jail.

"He said in his last letter he was never allowed out or to see the sun, and we must assume that must be true as well," Sally said.

Perhaps he shouldn't have joined ISIS with the plan to kill unbelievers and spread Islam throughout the world.

John, 58, added: "It's very difficult to see a photo of the son you love, and took care of for 18 years, sleeping half-naked on a concrete floor crammed in a room with so many others, equally emaciated and suffering. Is this really the best way for our democracy to deal with this issue?"

Well, it may serve as a deterrent for other wannabe terrorists.

Tory MP Crispin Blunt, a former chairman of the Commons Select Committee on Foreign Affairs, visited the prison last month and met Jihadi Jack. They couldn't speak openly because the prison governor was sitting next to them, but Blunt confirmed the prison conditions did indeed suck as the photos suggested.

Blunt said the thousands of ISIS captives imposed an "intolerable burden" on the Kurds, the folks who had done most of the dying in achieving victory of ISIS, but he bluntly admitted that they had limited resources and said it was time to allow the crap weasels to return to their home countries. He also believes the UK should not have removed citizenship from them, but that's because he has a soft spot for militants.

However, there was no sign that the images from the prison might persuade Home Secretary Priti Patel to change her policy.

A Home Office source said:
"Jihadi Jack signed up to join people who hate this country, hate our beliefs and hate our way of life.

"His parents, who have been convicted of funding terrorism by the British courts, are wasting their breath. Law-abiding Brits will think he's got off easy in that squalid prison. The thousands of victims of Jack's terrorist friends weren't that lucky."
Canada's government also has a policy of refusing to allow ISIS detainees to return home. Letts' parents are hoping to launch a joint legal action to challenge this with other families in the same position.

This week, security sources revealed that more than 60 British jihadis are languishing in Kurdish custody in northern Syria, their numbers equally split between men and women. Officials believe that many of them are battle-hardened jihadis and are quite dangerous to national security.

These include El-Shafee Elsheikh, 31, and Alexanda Kotey, 35, members of a gang of British terrorists known as the Beatles, who imprisoned, tortured and beheaded Western hostages.

The most infamous of the group was Mohammed Emwazi, also known as Jihadi John, who beheaded at least five Western hostages, including two Britons, in front of the camera. He was blown away by drone and is currently up to his eyeballs in virgins.

Some of the others, particularly the women, are pleading to come back to the UK and are very sorry for all the killings and beheadings and burnings and such.

Trump goes after Lindsey Graham over Syria pullout

President Trump went after Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) on Thursday after he criticized the president's decision to pull U.S. troops from Syria. And while Graham has been an ardent supporter of the president, this wasn't an issue Trump was going to let slide. In fact, there are basically no issues President Trump lets slide when it comes to any criticism of his actions.

Trump tweeted on Thursday:
“So hard to believe that Lindsey Graham would be against saving soldier lives & billions of $$$. Why are we fighting for our enemy, Syria, by staying & killing for them, Russia, Iran & other locals? Time to focus on our Country & bring our youth back home where they belong!”
The military should not be referred to as "our youth," because it makes them sound like poor, defenseless kids who don't want to be there. On the contrary, this is why patriotic Americans enlist in the armed forces and why our nation has the most lethal military in the history of the world.

Another point:  ". . . our youth back home where they belong" is not where they signed up to be. They belong defending our country wherever in the world they are needed.

The president’s comments come after Graham slammed his decision to remove 2,000 troops from Syria, calling the move “Obama-like.” And where Graham is clearly correct is the fact that Trump, like Obama, announced the withdrawal publicly, and for which he criticized Obama.

“My theory is that by pulling 2,200 out in Northeastern Syria, that’s going to boost ISIS’ ability to come back,” Graham told Fox News on Wednesday. “But even more than that, the Kurds in Syria, who came forward when nobody else would to help us fight ISIS, fought bravely and died in large numbers, they’re going to feel abandoned.”

That's because we are abandoning them!

Brett McGurk US envoy to anti-ISIS coalition, resigns

Brett McGurk, U.S. envoy for the global coalition to defeat Islamic State, has resigned, following the resignation of Secretary of Defense James Mattis' resignation. Both for apparently the same reason: President Trump's unilateral decision to pull all 2,000 U.S. forces out of Syria.

Trump had tweeted that “we have defeated ISIS in Syria, my only reason for being there during the Trump Presidency.”
Brett McGurk
We have not defeated ISIS, and there is more than one reason for being there, particularly this ally trust thingy reason and the fact that our pullout is going to likely cause the emboldenment of IS and subsequent bloodshed and heads without bodies.

Ground troops moved into Syria in 2015 to fight ISIS amid the Syrian civil war. Trump talked about pulling out of Syria before, but military leaders had warned about ISIS re-emerging should the U.S. do so. He did not listen to them and this has frustrated military people who know military things like strategy and consequences.

On Thursday, Trump announced that Mattis was retiring in February. Mattis’ resignation letter can be seen here in full.

The AP reported that McGurk's resignation letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo that Islamic State was on the run, but it still wasn't defeated. He also said that the U.S.'s work in Syria wasn't completed. McGurk was appointed by former President Barack Hussein Obama in 2015.

In a December 11th press conference McGurk explained that “enduring defeat of a group like this means you can’t just defeat their physical space and then leave.”

“Nobody is saying that they are going to disappear. Nobody is that naive,” he told the press. “So we want to stay on the ground and make sure that stability can be maintained in these areas.”

According to one official as per the AP, McGurk's plan was to leave the job in mid-February. However, he felt that due to Trump's decision to leave Syria, and Mattis' resignation, he could no longer continue.

Fox News has learned that McGurk submitted his resignation letter on Friday, a day after Secretary Mattis resigned. His resignation is effective December 31st.

McGurk previously served as a deputy assistant secretary of state for Iraq and Iran, and led secret talks with Iran about the release of American prisoners during the negotiations for the crappy Iran nuclear deal.

McGurk also previously worked as a Supreme Court law clerk to the late Chief Justice William Rehnquist and had also served on former President George W. Bush’s National Security Council staff, where in 2007 and 2008, he was the lead U.S. negotiator on security agreements with Iraq.

On Saturday, Trump said that ISIS is “largely defeated” and that other countries, such as Turkey could take care of whatever is left.

Turkey will also take care of our allies, the Kurds, once we're gone--you can almost count on it.

Erdogan bad mouths Israel--Netanyahu gives it back in spades

Istanbul -- Turkey has become increasingly a sharia guided nation and they don't take well to the Jewish State of Israel. Relations between the two countries appeared to have deteriorated Sunday as Turkish President Recep Tayyip Taqiyya Erdogan said that Israel is a terrorist state that kills children. He also said he would fight against the declaration recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital, as it has been for thousands of years.

He was probably referring to the children that Hamas uses as human shields when firing rockets at Israeli school buses. Israel does everything reasonably possible to minimize "collateral damage" while Hamas does everything it can to increase it.

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded in kind during an official visit to Paris, calling Erdogan a leader who bombs Kurdish villagers and supports terrorists.

Israel and Turkey had normalized relations in recent years, but the dual flare-ups did not help the situation.

President Trump's move to relocate the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem has sparked Muslims who want to make Jerusalem Islamic and have no historical support that predates the Jews claim to their capital.

When President Trump made the move to use Jerusalem for the embassy, Hamassholes called for 'three days of rage'-- something they do whenever they get the chance--this is the fourth time in eight months, by the way.

"Palestine is an innocent victim . . . As for Israel, it is a terrorist state, yes, terrorist!" Erdogan said, preaching to the choir in Sivas, a central Turkish city.

Palestinians typically claim victimhood, even after they go on a killing rampage. It reminds me of Flip Wilson saying, "The devil made me do it." Never the fault of the perp, always the victim. Now we have another Islamic leader blaming the victim for being the terrorist--it's ridiculous.

"I am not used to receiving lectures about morality from a leader who bombs Kurdish villagers in his native Turkey, who jails journalists, who helps Iran go around international sanctions, and who helps terrorists, including in Gaza, kill innocent people," Netanyahu said. "That is not the man who is going to lecture us."

No country is perfect, but to pretend that Erdogan or the Palestinians own the moral high ground is as absurd as referring to Osama bin Laden as a kind, religious leader.

Two Turks arrested after D.C. embassy brawl

A pair of Turkish nationals who are accused of attacking peaceful American demonstrators outside the Turkish Embassy in Washington D.C. were arrested Monday.

The brawl took place during Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit last month. In video he appears to say something to one of his security agents who then appears to make a call and the violence begins.

One source in the U.S. Marshall's office said to Fox News that one suspect, Eyup Yildirin, was apprehended in Manchester, N.J. The other scum-wafer, Sinan Narin, was caught in McLean, Va.

Both arrest warrants were executed by U.S. Marshalls in coordination with the Metro Police Department in Washington.

A State Department official said they had to wait for these charges before they could "kick them out of the country."

Witnesses said the brawl began when Erdogan's security detail attacked protesters carrying the Kurdish PDY party flag outside the embassy. Turkey considers the PDY to be a terrorist organization, so it's okay to commit a terrorist act against them. In fact, the Turkish Embassy blamed the violence on the demonstrators, much the same way an abusive husband blames the wife.

ISIS surrenders Tabqah, a key Syrian city

(Photo: Fox News)
U.S. Central Command said the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), composed of Kurdish and Arab fighters, recaptured the key Syrian city of Tabqah. Along with this, they also captured the Tabqah Dam and an airfield in a push that continues to erode ISIS's control of territory and people.

Tabqah (pronounced "Tabqah") is located about 30 miles west of Raqqa and its caputure denies ISIS from "a key coordination hub" used by the scum slugs since 2013. This was where the terrorist group planned their attacks after they lost other territories in northern Syria.

According to the U.S. Command, 70 ISIS crap weasels surrendered to the U.S.-led coalition Wednesday and left heavy weapons behind.

Col. John Dorrian, a coalition spokesman, said the recapture of Tabqah is "yet another victory" for the Kurds, our most effective partner on the ground fighting ISIS in Syria. "They don't run, they don't hide, they don't leave their stuff behind."

"The SDF's success against ISIS demonstrated the power of working by, with and through local partner forces fighting ISIS, among their own people, in their own territory," Dorrian said in a rugged tone. "The SDF, fighting to liberate their own people and lands, have freed more than 8,000 square kilometers of Syria from ISIS since November." (That's roughly 3088.817 square miles.)

The fight for Tabqah began about 2 months ago when the U.S. sent helicopters with hundreds of Syrian fighters into the city, wished them luck and got the heck out of there. A handful of American special ops forces were also inserted.

The recapture of Tabqah came a day after the Trump administration said it would supply the SDF with heavier weapons ahead of the Raqqa push. Talal Sillo, an SDF honcho, said no weapons had yet arrived, but like Trump's wall that hasn't yet been built, just the threat of sending heavy weapons had legs.

Dorrian says that between 3,000 and 4,000 ISIS scum lizards remain in Raqqa. It's not certain how many residents remain but the goal now is to protect them.

Some gains made in Mosul operation

Khazer, Iraq -- Kurdish and Iraqi forces backed by U.S.-led coalition air and ground support, launched a synchronized military operation against the Islamic State (which isn't Islamic and isn't a state, according to someone who knows Islamic and runs a country too) in Mosul.

Many believe the battle for the northern city is going to be long and bloody and it isn't clear when the ground forces will actually enter the city.

There are many civilians trapped inside Mosul and their fates are tenuous as ISIS may use them as bullet-stoppers and basic human shields like Hamas does with Palestinian children.

Early Monday morning, convoys of U.S., Iraqi and Kurdish troops moved east of Mosul along the front line as U.S.-led airstrikes bombed the crap out of the jihadists.

The sky was filled with plumes of smoke, sending Leonardo DiCaprio flying back to his therapist's couch. (He burns a lot of jet fuel going around the world in his private jet, complaining of those who burn a lot of jet fuel flying commercial.)

The military move came soon after Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi announced the start of the operations on state TV.

Mosul has been under strict Islamic State rule for over 2 years and over a million folks call Mosul home.

"These forces that are liberating you today, they have one goal in Mosul which is to get rid of Daesh and to secure your dignity," al Abadi said, as he addressed the city's residents. "God will [aka "Inshallah"] we shall win."

And then everyone screamed "Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar!"

This operation to retake Mosul will be the largest operation in Iraq since our troops left in 2011. If successful, it will deal the biggest blow to the Islamic State since they learned that Israel invented Intel, SMS and lots of things they use.

Turkey suicide bombers blow themselves up--no infidels hurt

Putting pieces of the puzzle together
Ankara, Turkey -- Two losers, a man and a woman, blew themselves to little bite-size pieces when Turkish police told them to surrender during an operation on the outskirts of Ankara Saturday.

It was reminiscent of a Monty Python skit, but the blood and flying extremist body parts was real. It was all over in a split second in a cloud of dust and a hearty cheer by police who were happy to be alive.

It was a self-sacrifice gone wonderfully wrong as nobody else except the two idiots were killed, and nobody even got hurt.

Governor Erkan Topaca reported that police acted on a tip and launched an operation to catch the man and woman who were suspected of planning a suicide car bombing in Ankara. They hid inside a hut at a horse farm in the Haymana district. The name of the tipster is not known but a witness claimed that one of the horses is named Mister Ed.

"Police called on them to surrender. They did not respond in a positive way. They blew themselves up before we could intervene," Topaca said. "Boom badahbing! and it was all over."

Gov. Topaca said that it was "highly likely" that one of the pair was linked to the Kurdistan Workers' Party of PKK. They have carried out a series of suicide car bombings this year, so it's a wonder how they get any work done.

"The organization they are connected to is not clear yet but according to information we have received, it is highly likely that (the man) is linked to the PKK. They way the incident was carried out and planned points at the PKK," he said, meaning that whenever they carry out a suicide bombing, they try to abide by safety standards which conflicts with the outcome of their work.

The losers had a Turkish flag on their car to hide their identities, much like Islamic terrorists who dress as religious Jews before trying to kill religious Jews as part of their own, sick religious duty.

The suicide bombers also wore fake noses, glasses and mustaches, none of which could be recovered after the two blasts.

Turkey has been hit by a wave of bomb attacks beginning last summer. Hundreds have been killed and the attacks blamed on both the PKK and ISIS.

On October 10, 2015, a total of 103 people were killed as they ironically attended a peace rally--including many Kurdish activists. ISIS was blamed for the attack.

Last Thursday, 10 people received minor injuries by a bomb mounted on a motorcycle that exploded near a police station in Istanbul (which was once Constantinople).
The Kurdistan Freedom Falcons (aka Bad Birds) or TAK, an offshoot of PKK, claimed responsibility and promised to try to do better next time.

Six jobless people have been detained in connection with that unspectacular attack.

Liberal gun and terror hypocrites

What do these attacks all have in common:

1. In 2009 Army Major Nadal Hasan shoots and kills 13 soldiers in Ft. Hood.
2. Arid Uka kills 2 airmen in Frankfurt, Germany in 2011.
3. In 2013, the Tsarnaev brothers kill 3 and wound almost 200 spectators at the Boston Marathon.
4. Zaim Farouq Abdul-Malik attacks 4 NYPD officers with a hatchet in 2014.
5. In 2015 the Islamic State kills 130 people, injuring 368 others, using suicide bombers and small arms.
6. Belgium, March 2016, three coordinated bombing occur: two at Brussels Airport in Zaventem, one at Maalbeek metro station in Brussels, killing 32 innocent people and 3 attackers.

The list goes on and on and on.

The commonalities are not the absence of gun control, as Democrats claim--they happen even where gun control is tighter than a liberal and his Che Guevara tee shirt. They happen globally and a wide variety of weapons, such as high explosives, pressure cookers, cars, guns and knives.

Gun control has nothing whatsoever to do with these attacks--it's irrelevant--but liberals can't even wait for the bodies to be removed from the carnage before they call for more gun control.

What is common in all these attacks is, first, what motivates the terrorists: religion and their geopolitical ambitions.

The second common area is the total disrespect for our laws and even hatred of them. Islamic terrorists, and that's who's doing most of the killing, only respect Sharia, or Islamic law. Democracy and our Constitution go against Sharia, or what they believe is 'Allah's word.'

Terrorism is against the law. What makes anyone think that Islamic terrorists will respect gun control laws? What makes anyone think that they will not be able to get their greasy hands on guns?

And guns are no more to blame than pressure cookers, high explosives, knives and cars.

But it seems that House Democrats don't believe fighting terrorism is as important as fighting conservatives for more gun control. They voted only 40 of 188 for the National Defense Authorization Act in May.

The bill would provide tools for our military to fight global jihad and grant authorization and resources for the fight. It would also serve to arm our allies along with the Kurds and Jordanians and train their troops.

It would fund our intelligence resources to help stem the flow of future attacks.

Finally, the bill would fund Operation Inherent Resolve, the war against the Islamic State. But the Democrats see taking guns away from Americans as the solution.

They apparently get their military strategy from the ostrich and believe that their stupid calls, led by liberal Nancy Pelosi, for "no-guns for terrorists" would keep terrorists from getting guns.

They need to get their heads out of the ground, or wherever dark place they have stuck them.

Kurds fire back at ISIS with a weapon they left behind

ISIS is using makeshift weapons because their technology apparently only goes as far as the sword, knife, and stolen firearms. The Kurds found something that resembled a pirate's cannon and it took the Kurds a couple of days to figure out just what it was. They seized it in a firefight with ISIS.

Well, they finally figured it out and as they crouched behind sandbags, they fired a bunch of homemade shells they found with the mortar at a terrorist-held village about a mile away.

The "how-to-make-a-bomb-in-the-kitchen-of-your-mom" shells fired out of an 8 foot tube mounted on a pair of tires culminating in a puff of smoke on the horizon. The jury-rigged device worked.

The Peshmerga nearly wet themselves with laughter and mirth, high-fiving and having the "T of their L."

One Peshmerga soldier we shall refer to as Ali, because that's his name, was wounded in his arm in a battle in Sinjar, where the "mortar" was found. "I hope they felt it like I felt the pain in my arm," he said.

The mortar shells, like the ones we Americans used in WW2, had the names of women on them, to "honor the girls back home." Except in the case of ISIS, the names were those of livestock.

But in truth, this war is horrible and is taking too long to end. If we and our allies were serious about ending it, we could do it at the drop of a burqa.

ISIS may have a chemical weapon

Caliphating around town
From burning people alive, to hacking off a head, to shooting people in cold blood, to throwing them off high places. That's the way ISIS likes to operate.

But now, it's getting out of hand. Now the Islamic terrorist group, run by a Ph.D. in Islamic studies from the Islamic University of Baghdad, who liberals claim doesn't know the real Islam, may be experimenting with chemical weapons.

Photos taken by the Kurds in northern Iraq last year show blisters and burns on the skin; this is consistent with the use of chemical weapons. The chemicals were described as "odorless, colorless and absorbed through the clothing." The burns and illness occurs hours later.

According to former FBI intelligence officer Tim Gill Sr., "I think it could be a perfect testing ground. They (ISIS) were particularly interested in using these chemicals in confined space environments, soft targets like shopping malls and movie theaters," Gill told Fox News.

ISIS recruiting has increased substantially over the past year, in spite of their "JV" status. In the year they've been 'caliphating' [my word] around the Middle East, they've made over 50 attacks of 19 countries outside their region and have killed upwards of 1,100 people, wounding over 1,700.

Having a chemical weapon would really cause problems.

BREAKING: Death at Turkish peace rally

Ankara, Turkey--Turkey's Health Ministry reported that at least 86 are dead and over 180 injured when two closely-timed bombs targeting a peace rally were detonated within minutes of each other.

The bombs were placed near Ankara's main train station where people gathered for the rally which was organized by several civic and trade worker's groups. The rally was to call for an end of violence between Kurdish rebels and Turkish security forces.

Turkey's Dogan news agency was covering the event and TV footage showed a group of protesters chanting and dancing with their arms locked when a huge explosion went off behind them. The video showed bodies covered with rally banners and flags while others, more fortunate, were being taken to hospitals.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan returned to Ankara, Turkey's capital, from a program he was attending in Istanbul.

Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu called an emergency security meeting to discuss the attack. He is suspending his election campaign programs for three days--elections are slated for November 1st.

Nobody has yet taken responsibility for the slaughter and government officials are having the incident investigated.

Selahattin Demirtas, head of the pro-Kurdish party had his members attend the so-called peace rally. "There are dozens of dead and hundreds of injuries," he said. "Some of our friends are in serious condition."

This past July, a suicide bombing attributed to ISIS killed 33 in a Turkish border town with Syria. A leftist (not conservative) militant group has also been carrying out suicide bombings in Turkey.

It isn't known whether this latest peace rally spoiler was a suicide attack, but if it was, the suicide bomber who blew him- or herself up in the attack, was doing it for Islamic jihad and believed he or she was going to get rewarded with a trip to Paradise.

Islam is a religion of peace like Obama is a uniter of all people.

My opinion.

UPDATE: Turkey's Prime Minister Ahmed Davutoglu is now saying there are strong signs that the bombings were the work of suicide bombers. There will be a three-day official mourning period for the 86 victims.

Kobani Taken Back

Kurdish fighters, assisted with US-led airstrikes, kicked the Islamic State's butt and pushed them out of Kobani, a key Syrian town. The orthodox Muslims of the Islamic State thought it would be a cake-walk, or in their case a hummus-walk, but they underestimated the Kurds and paid heavily for their mistake.
A Kobani airstrike by US-led coalition

The only question now is whether Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi will execute those ISIS soldiers left alive from the battle who retreated. He did it before, he might do it again because that's just the way the dude rolls. What a leader.

Imagine how angry Abu must've felt seeing the Kurdish enemy removing the black ISIS flag and replacing it with theirs on the hill that overlooks the town. He probably beat one of his wives just to get out his anger.

The American coordinator of the US-led coalition predicted the Islamic State would get the crap kicked out of them in Kobani, and he was right, stating that ISIS would "ìmpale itself" on Kobani. This is a major success for the Kurds and the coalition.

Last September, Islamic State Muslim fighters began the capture of around 300 Kurdish villages near Kobani and entered the town itself, occupying about half of it. This caused thousands of refugees to flee into Turkey, just across the border.

By the following month, ISIS controlled so much of the town that they made a propaganda video of John Cantlie, a British photojournalist, to show just how badass they were. No goats were harmed in the making of that video.

Because Kobani was a strategic border crossing with Turkey, it was essential that the coalition hold it. Even the immoral John Kerry said that it would be `morally very difficult" not to help Kobani. That's ironic, isn't it? Good thing Kobani isn't Israel.

Airstrikes are great at softening targets. Serious carpet bombing softens them even more. But unless we're talking nukes, and we aren't, there must eventually be ground troops to clean up the trash.

Military analysts say the arrival of "gunned-to-the-teeth" Kurdish peshmerga  fighters from Iraq are the reason for success.

I agree and would add that having women fighters scares the crap out of these religious Muslims. They believe that being killed by a woman, a "thing" that should be used merely for cooking and sex to bear more jihadis, would take away their chances of getting into Paradise where they could have all the sex they want with lots of virgins.

And they call it a religion, a religion of peace, no less. What a joke they've tried to play on us, but all they fooled were our leaders and our liberals.

Abu Gives Permanent Bubus to Failed Jihadists

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi just put the kabosh to 56 coworkers (one full deck and 4 jokers) due to their failure at the job. The kabosh in this case is death, and the job failure was their ability to kill Kurds. Some would consider that irony, but I call it good ole country Islam.

The Kurdish Peshmerga fighters kicked some Islamic ass in Kobar, south of Erbil, the capital city of the Kurds. Saed Mimousini spokesperson for the Kurdish Democratic Party told of the kabosh to the Alsumaria News Agency.

Abu does not like losing and just when the boys thought they'd live to fight another day, Abu pulled the magic carpet out from under their feet and sent them packing to Paradise. The only question that now remains is how many virgins do you get for losing to a Kurd?

Mimousini reported that the "Executions took place in the Al-Namrood, east Mosul," and added that the "battles between ISIS and the Peshmerga south of Erbil killed 300 members of the Islamic State and injured nearly 102 others."

But according to Obama, no real Muslims were hurt in the fighting.

Mimousini said hospitals in Mosul were wall-to-wall with messed up Muslims from the Islamic State, and this follows a "decline in health and medical services in the province." Doctors Without Brains is possibly planning to go there and help the poor ISIS fighters carry on.

Overall, the Peshmerga are better fighters than ISIS, perhaps because they know what actually makes up the "virgin reward." They have killed dozens of militants from ISIS and the terrorist group is concerned that Paradise is running low on virgins. There are rumors that they might resort to cattle.

Turkey Tough on its Kurds, Weak on ISIS--Obama No Better

Turkey shot rubber bullets and tear gas at Kurdish protesters who demanded more be done to stop the onslaught of ISIS. Heavy trucks rolled into Turkey's major cities  where people took to the streets to denounce the fall of Kobani, a Syrian city bordering Turkey.

About 19 people, almost as many people as our airstrikes have thus far taken out, have been killed in clashes with the police.. Turkey is too chicken to aid the brave Kurds trapped in Kobani who are fighting the world's most brutal and richest Islamic terrorist organizations, which has now grown into an army.

Keeping Up With the Islamists

ISIS is getting closer to Baghdad--close enough to fire artillery into the city and we can now say that the siege has begun as they are taking on one of the largest military bases in Iraq.

For the first time this year, orthodox Muslims aspiring to jihad are now a major presence in Abu Ghraib on the outskirts of the capital and the last Anbar town along the way.

One Iraqi soldier who remained anonymous said that ISIS, who he referred to as "Daash," controls the streets.

Several hundred miles to the west ISIS pushes on into Kobane, a Syrian Kurdish city. Kurdish officials said that Turkey has not yet responded to their pleas for help against the ISIS terrorists who fervently believe in Islam in the literal sense of the writings of the Koran.
Kiss it or die

Officials have reported that ISIS has captured a large cache of weapons from the marathon runners in the Iraqi army, citing 155 mm/Howitzers as one such weapon. These artillery guns can reach Baghdad Airport and would make travel a nightmare for Iraqi soldiers with airline tickets to elsewhere.

President Barack Hussein Obama said in a Tele PrompTer reading that the Islamic State is not Muslim and not a state. He obviously forgot his Indonesian Koranic training in the Madrassa. ISIS calls on Allah for strength and uses Islamic methods to kill disbelievers.

It's a good thing Al Jazeera Gore doesn't use similar methods to kill the disbelievers of global warming.
