Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed's Muslim Brotherhood Situation

Abdulrahman Mohamed el-Sayed

Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed really, really does not want to talk about the Muslim Brotherhood and he will attack you with claims of racism if you ask him about it.

When NBC News’ Tom Illamas pressed him on the subject, the Muslim Brotherhood fanboy grew testy, apparently hoping that if he glared hard enough at the question, it would magically disappear. His message seems straightforward enough: trust him, stop asking questions, and please do not look too closely at the company he and his family have allegedly kept.

The problem is that Americans have developed a rather inconvenient habit of wanting to know whether their elected officials have any questionable associations. We already have Ilhan Nur Said Elmi [aka Ilhan Omar] and Rashida Tlaib providing Democrats with more than enough opportunities to explain away radicalism and controversial foreign allegiances.

The Senate hardly needs another candidate handing voters a fresh stack of uncomfortable questions.

El-Sayed insists that he and his family have no ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, an organization so extreme that it has been banned in five Muslim-majority countries. Unfortunately for him, the story keeps getting more complicated.

According to previous reporting, El-Sayed wrote a letter to the organization when it took power in Egypt. His sister appears to have an affinity for the group, while his mother reportedly worked for a charity with alleged al-Qaeda ties, and his uncle served as its bookkeeper. Perhaps nobody in the family has an official Muslim Brotherhood membership card tucked into a wallet, but when the family scrapbook starts looking like something that might interest a congressional investigative committee, voters are entitled to ask a few questions.

And now, RedState uncovered another reason El-Sayed might prefer to change the subject: a retreat he reportedly attended that has connections to the Muslim Brotherhood.

As RedState reported:

El-Sayed recently appeared defensive when Fox News' Bret Baier asked him a straightforward question posed over and over by the Republican opponent, Mike Rogers, and his campaign, about his background and connections to Islamist radicalism.

On Wednesday, more questions started to surface about his ties to these terror groups and their supporters, with new images circulating on social media reportedly showing Abdul El-Sayed in some questionable company at an overseas private retreat.

The photos, in an X post shared by the Government Accountability Institute's president, Peter Schweizer, appear to show the Democrat socializing with members of organizations with "credible ties" to MB or other "Islamic terror groups" in Colombia in 2022.

If the images show what Schweizer says they show, El-Sayed has a serious explaining problem on his hands. The question is not whether a politician must personally approve every person who happens to occupy the same room. The question is why a candidate who emphatically denies connections to Islamist radicalism seems to keep finding himself in situations that invite scrutiny of those very connections.

And when Fox News asks about it, voters deserve more than an irritated response and an apparent hope that everyone will eventually get bored.

El-Sayed would presumably prefer to spend his campaign discussing health care, economic policy, or whatever other subject he believes will put him in the best light. Instead, he is being asked to explain the people and organizations surrounding him. That is an unfortunate development for a candidate who would probably rather have his biography treated like a sealed court filing.

Michigan voters deserve answers before they cast their ballots on September 3. They should not have to piece together a candidate's associations from photographs, investigative reports, and increasingly uncomfortable interviews.

There is an old rule in politics that if you're explaining, you're losing.

El-Sayed now has an opportunity to test that theory, although the growing list of questions suggests he may be getting more practice than he wanted.

Republicans should make sure voters understand what is being reported, demand straightforward answers, and turn out at the polls. They should also remind their friends and family members to do the same. Elections have consequences, and the best way to prevent an unwanted candidate from taking office is to vote against him rather than merely complain about him afterward.

Expect more questions about this. El-Sayed has chosen to run for elected office, and that means his public record, associations, and past statements are legitimate subjects of scrutiny. He is entitled to answer those questions as he sees fit. Voters are equally entitled to judge those answers.

If he wants the power of public office, he will have to endure the inconvenience of public accountability. That comes with the job, whether he likes it or not.

Biden’s Border Disaster: ICE Rounds Up Murderers and Child Rapists in Boston While Sanctuary Policies Shield Criminals

In a shocking display of what open-border policies have unleashed, Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin embedded with ICE in Boston, where agents are taking down some of the worst criminals and illegal immigrants, including an alleged murderer and child rapists.

This comes as the Trump administration faces pushback from left-wing officials hell-bent on protecting their sanctuary city status over the safety of Americans.

Operation “Patriot,” the largest ICE sweep since President Trump’s return to the White House, is closing in on 1,500 arrests of dangerous illegals. Among them is a Salvadoran scumbag convicted of child rape, deported in 2017, who was caught living right next to a children’s playground.

If that doesn’t make your blood boil, how about another illegal from El Salvador, on Interpol’s Red Notice for aggravated murder, kidnapping, and robbery? Fox News captured both arrests on camera, exposing the grim reality of Biden’s border legacy.

So where are the other legacy news outlets?

“It’s not unusual. Due to the open border policies, we are finding that plenty of people who have been previously deported and committed heinous crimes and were removed from the country are now back here, just living among us,” said Patricia Hyde, head of ICE Boston. “And now that’s our job to go round them up.”

ICE deployed 19 teams across Massachusetts, pulling in agents from across the country to clean up the mess left by sanctuary policies in Boston and beyond. About 70% of those nabbed have convictions or pending charges for heinous crimes. ICE also arrested a Colombian illegal facing charges for sexually assaulting a child and a Dominican drug trafficker now peddling fentanyl. Then there’s the Guatemalan illegal charged with aggravated child rape and a Honduran charged with rape—both released from state custody by Massachusetts’ soft-on-crime officials.

“We’re not going away. It might take us longer. It might be harder, but we’re not going away, we’re here,” Hyde declared. “We know what the American people voted for. We understand that we work for the American people and we’re going to be here until we send everyone home.”

But here’s the problem: local ICE activists and sanctuary city policies are making it harder for agents to do their jobs.

On Thursday, activists tried to physically interfere with an arrest, grabbing a handcuffed illegal. In another case, a crowd blew ICE’s cover while agents staked out a murderer’s home. Hyde didn’t mince words: “I think the lack of cooperation is getting worse and worse, and it’s putting law enforcement lives in danger.”

This is the direct result of Democrat-run sanctuary cities like Boston thumbing their noses at federal immigration laws. As Border Czar Tom Homan surges ICE into these lawless zones, the left’s obsession with protecting criminal illegals over American citizens is on full display. Meanwhile, DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin is left scrambling to defend the indefensible as the Trump admin’s deportation agenda kicks into high gear.

The American people have had enough, and ICE is finally delivering the justice they voted for. But with activists and local officials actively working against law enforcement, how many more child rapists and murderers are still roaming free?

About 800 illegal aliens busted in Florida ICE operation

Buckle up, America—Operation Tidal Wave just crashed down hard. In a balls-to-the-wall team-up, ICE Miami and Florida’s finest badge-wearers rounded up nearly 800 illegals in just four days. This ain’t no small-time sweep; it’s a multi-agency gut-punch to the underbelly of illegal immigration.

Fox News got the dirt on some of ICE’s biggest catches from this ongoing blitz. We’re talking heavy hitters: a Colombian murderer, MS-13 and 18th Street gang scum, and a Russian with an Interpol Red Notice for mowing down a life.

Jose Sanchez Reyes, a Colombian who slipped into the U.S. like a ghost, was convicted of homicide back home. Guy’s got blood on his hands.

Rafael Juarex Cabrera, a Guatemalan MS-13 thug, has waltzed back into the U.S. three times like it’s a revolving door. He’s got a felony reentry rap on his sheet.

Savva Klishchevskii, a Russian, is wanted by Interpol for vehicular manslaughter. Bet he thought he could outrun that Red Notice.

Aron Isaak Morazan-Izaguirre, a Honduran 18th Street gangbanger, is flagged as a known or suspected terrorist. He’s allegedly snuck back into the U.S. twice. Bold move, pal.

Operation Tidal Wave’s still rolling, and Florida’s doubling down, locking arms with ICE to fuel President Trump’s mass deportation juggernaut. No brakes, no mercy.

CBP brought “extraordinary support” to the table, per officials, who’re calling this op a home run. ICE took to X, dropping a statement: “We appreciate our [Department of Homeland Security (DHS)] partner’s commitment to public safety.”

This all comes hot on the heels of two judges getting cuffed for allegedly playing hide-and-seek with illegals. Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan’s facing charges of obstruction and concealing a migrant from ICE agents. She thought she could outsmart the feds.

Then there’s former Doña Ana County Magistrate Judge Joel Cano, 68, and his wife, Nancy, 67, slapped with evidence tampering. Word is they were harboring Cristhian Ortega-Lopez, a goon from Venezuela’s Tren de Aragua gang. That’s the kind of company they keep.

Operation Tidal Wave’s just getting started. Stay frosty, folks—this fight’s far from over.

Pablo Escobar's hitman dies after losing battle with cancer

Bogota, Colombia -- Jhon Jairo Velásquez was a former hitman for cocaine kingpin Pablo Escobar. "Popeye" as his friends and loving parents called him, died in Colombia on Thursday after losing his battle with stomach cancer, prison authorities said. He was only 57 and the underworld will miss him.

Popeye had been hospitalized at the National Cancer Institute in Bogota where his days of "three hots and a cot" have ended. His days of killing people for profit are over. He had confessed to killing no less than 300 people as well as coordinating the deaths of thousands beyond that number for his boss' Medellin cartel in the 1980s and 1990s.

The bastard spent more than 20 years behind bars for plotting the murder of an ex-presidential candidate and was released in 2014 on parole.

After his release, he traded the bullet for the written word and even gained a bit of fame on YouTube where he angrily denounced leftist rebels and corrupt politicians, because if there was one thing he hated, it was unethical behavior. He aspired to run for a senate seat.

However, in 2017, Popeye found himself in deep trouble as authorities said they were seeking his arrest for violating parole after he was caught partying with a major drug trafficker wanted by the U.S. He was eventually captured in 2018 on charges of extortion.

Velásquez spoke of the murders he committed on Escobar's behalf as if he was discussing stock market strategy. In one TV interview he explained how he preferred to use a revolver when killing people and he enjoyed working "from the eyebrows up."

What a guy. He will be missed like toenail fungus.

Omar fires back at Pence but proves herself to be an empty hijab

When it comes to things having nothing to do with race or religion, freshman Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) has to resort to her default position by going after anyone who disagrees with her un-American statements with ad hominem and racist attacks.

Omar fired back at VP Mike Pence for saying she ‘doesn’t know what she’s talking about’ concerning Venezuela's  escalating tensions, and if you consider what she said, Pence absolutely right--she is nothing more than an "empty hijab."

Here's what happened:

Earlier in the day, Pence accused Omar of not knowing “what she's talking about” after she tried to lay the responsibility for the ongoing situation in Venezuela on the Trump Administration over its “bullying” tactics and sanctions.

The sanctions, by the way, were on 250 individuals, not the country and only recently escalated as Maduro became increasingly repressive to the people.

“Women of color have heard this before. Instead of ‘We disagree,’ it's ‘She doesn't know what she's talking about,’” Omar tweeted. “They have to make us feel small. This from an Administration that thinks climate change is a Chinese hoax.”

By 'women of color' Omar was using race as verbal kryptonite because she doesn't have the capacity to defend her empty claims. She does this with race and her Islamic religion. The left tends to attack in this manner whenever they have no decent counter argument.

Pence, for his part, assigned blame for the unrest to embattled President Nicolas Maduro, putting the blame where it belongs.

"Nicolas Maduro is a socialist dictator who has taken what was one of the most prosperous nations in this hemisphere and brought it literally to a level of deprivation and oppression and poverty that we have never seen,” Pence said. “Nine out of 10 people in Venezuela live in poverty. Three million people have fled Venezuela. That's not a result of U.S. policies. That's the result of dictatorship and socialism that has been imposed on people of Venezuela by Nicolas Maduro."

Earlier in the week, Omar attacked the United States on PBS’ “Democracy Now!.” She said that "a lot of the policies that we have put in place has kind of helped lead the devastation in Venezuela and we have sort of set the stage for where we are arriving today."

Kinda, sorta, like helped. She gave no clear examples of how we mean, terrible Americans set the stage because there are no examples.

“This particular bullying and the use of sanctions to eventually intervene and make regime change really does not help the people of countries like Venezuela, and it certainly does not help and is not in the interest of the United States," she added.

The reason the Trump Administration imposed sanctions on Venezuela was not for bullying Maduro, it was because he basically rewrote the constitution of the country to secure his dictatorship over the people who are resorting to eating pigeons and stray dogs to feed themselves while he gets fatter.

Pence separately took issue with those remarks on Thursday, accusing her on Twitter of picking “socialism over freedom.” He went on to extend the administration’s support to “the freedom-loving people of Venezuela.”

The truth is, our sanctions of Venezuela is not killing the country, Maduro is with the help of socialism. Venezuela's GDP has crashed by about 50 percent since 2013. And while Omar might have a case to hate the U.S. interventionism in Muslim nations like Iraq, Syria and Libya, where many people have been killed and lives upended, and our policy and support of some of the scumcrumpets in these countries have made things worse, Venezuela is a totally different case.
"Catch the Cats 'n Rats Fun Run"
Venezuela is not the Middle East. Our policies are not the reason why Venezuela is a mess, as the anti-American congresswoman said this week. The U.S. is not making Venezuela any worse than it is or will become under existing leadership. Her view mimics many left-of-center voices critical of the regime change policies that began under Bush and Cheney.

The ruling Socialists United of Venezuela is, point blank, the only reason why Venezuela is a mess. Nicolas Maduro is its leader and dictator. He governs a failed state and 50 other countries all agree.

Brazil and Colombia are taking in around one million Venezuelans who have fled the country. Some parents have chosen to take their kids out of school and live in United Nations tents in Colombia instead of Maduro's Venezuela. That's how bad it has gotten.

This has nothing whatsoever to do with the Trump Administration, as Omar suggests. It's Maduro's incompetence that's killing Venezuela. The country began circling the bowl with an economic depression in the Obama years, and it was then that Obama first sanctioned members of the Maduro Administration in 2015.

Trump later sanctioned Maduro's Vice President Tareck El Aissami for drug trafficking in February 2017, and later that year, U.S. companies were banned from providing financial assistance (as in loans) to one company only, oil firm PdVSA.

The claim that the U.S. is banning food and medicine shipments to Venezuela is not actually true. When those shipments are not going to sanctioned individuals, it isn't breaking sanctions law.

Ilhan Omar doesn't know what she's talking about but as long as what she says is an attack on this administration, the left will support it because the truth is less important than the effect as far as they're concerned.

UPDATE: Jorge Ramos of Univision and his team detained then released in Venezuela

UPDATE: The Univision team along with Jorge Ramos has been released and later released.

Daniel Coronell, president of news for Univision in the U.S., tweeted just prior to 9 p.m. ET on Monday that Ramos and his team were released, but their technical equipment, along with interview material that dictator Maduro disliked, were confiscated.

The State Department confirmed on Twitter that Ramos and his team "are being held against their will at Miraflores Palace by Nicolas Maduro," and urged him to immediately release them.

Ramos, according to Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., was seemingly able to call Univision to explain what was happening "when the phone was taken from him & the call ended."

Univision anchor Jorge Ramos and his media team have been detained in Caracas, Venezuela. According to the network's Monday night tweet, Ramos was interviewing disputed President Nicolas Maduro and the dictator evidently "didn't like the questions" Ramos was asking during the interview."

Ramos and other members of the Univision crew were "arbitrarily detained at the Miraflores Palace," officials wrote online. It was not immediately clear how many others were detained with the Trump foe, Ramos. According to the network, the crew's technical equipment was confiscated.

The State Department confirmed on Twitter that Ramos and his team "are being held against their will at Miraflores Palace by Nicolas Maduro."

Kimberly Breier of the State Department tweeted:
.@StateDept has received word the journalist @jorgeramosnews and his team are being held against their will at Miraflores Palace by Nicolas Maduro. We insist on their immediate release; the world is watching. #Venezuela
Ramos, according to Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) was apparently able to phone Univision to tell them what was going on "when the phone was taken from him and the call ended."

Rubio visited the Colombia border city of Cucuta last week and warned Venezuelan soldiers that they would commit a "crime against humanity" if they blocked the entry of U.S. aid being channeled through rivals of Maduro.

The Trump administration and other nations have demanded Maduro step down and have Juan Guaido, the recognized opposition leader, take over as rightful leader. Maduro had begun his second term as dictator in January, and is not recognized as legitimate.

Hopefully, President Trump and his people will be able to convince Maduro to let our people go--so that Ramos can return home and be Trump's pain in the butt once again.
