NYC's Socialist Speed Bump: Parents Pedal Away from Public Schools Faster Than You Can Say 'Free Everything'

Comrade Mamdani and his fake smile

Ah, New York City, the city that never sleeps, unless it's dreaming up new ways to chase away its taxpaying residents.

In a plot twist that feels like a bad sequel to Escape from New York, socialist wunderkind Zohran Mamdani has clinched the mayoral throne, and the exodus is already underway. Not the usual celebrity flight to the Hamptons, but something far more poignant: parents yanking their kids from the clutches of the city's public education system like it's on fire. And spoiler alert: it might be, metaphorically speaking.

Enter Christopher Rim, the school placement consultant who's suddenly busier than a one armed juggler. Chatting with the New York Post, Rim spilled the beans on the frantic scramble: at least 23 families have pinged him about shipping their middle- and high-schoolers off to private academies in friendlier zip codes—think greener pastures in other states, where "curriculum" doesn't come with a side of ideological indoctrination.

"Within the first 30 minutes of AP announcing Mamdani’s victory, I got three messages from families looking to move," Rim said, probably while checking his phone for the fourth and fifth. It's not like this was a bolt from the blue, either. These folks have been stress-testing their escape hatches for months. Rim dished that a solid half-dozen clients had already bolted to Connecticut, prepping for the inevitable red-flag wave over City Hall. "Over the summer, I started hearing families say, ‘I don’t know what we are going to do if this guy wins,'" he explained. "They were like, 'He's going to win, and there's no reason [to wait].'"

And who can blame them? A chunk of these fleeing families are Jewish, and their beef isn't with spoiled gefilte fish, it's with Mamdani's not-so-subtle Israel distaste, which has them eyeing the horizon for safety's sake. Rim put it bluntly: "They're saying they're worried about safety in their everyday life. I don't even think it's a financial thing. I don't think it's the taxes or how much more money they would have to pay to live here."

In other words, when your mayor-in-waiting treats Israel's right to exist like an optional gym membership, folks start prioritizing survival over skyline views.

Pre-election vibes showed a JL Partners survey had 9 percent of New Yorkers vowing to definitely escape the city if Mamdani waltzed into Gracie Mansion, with another 25 percent mulling it over like that bottle of milk you left in the fridge over your vacation. Now, post-victory, the rubber's hitting the road, or in this case, the I-95 southbound lane.

Rim's latest story is about a family that's erased New York University and Columbia from the college wish list, because nothing says "welcome to adulthood" like waking up in a Mamdani-managed socialist metropolis. "These are families who have been thinking of leaving, been wanting to leave," Rim said. "This is just the final thing that pushed them to New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida, or even further."

Even Israel is looking better and perhaps safer than New York City, for Jews.

So here's to the pioneers of the Great NYC Brain Drain 2.0, may their U-Hauls be swift and their new schools free of mandatory "equity" field trips. Meanwhile, back in the five boroughs, the socialists can ponder their utopia: fewer kids, more echo chambers, and a budget shortfall you could pilot a drone through. Cheers to progress, comrades.

Can I get an amen Inshallah?

'Game Changer': DHS Drops the Mask on Portland's Costume-Clad Chaos Crew

If there's one thing the left's street theater has taught us, it's that nothing says "mostly peaceful" quite like a gaggle of grown adults playing dress-up to dodge the long arm of the law. You know the drill: bandanas yanked up like wannabe outlaws, ski masks straight out of a bad '80s heist flick, or those novelty character masks that leave just enough eyeball real estate to glare at the cameras.

Lately in Portland, where the nightly "protests" have morphed into a full-blown cosplay convention outside the ICE facility, these merry pranksters have upped the ante. Full-blown costumes now, folks, the kind that wouldn't look out of place at a Comic-Con for malcontents. It's a page ripped right from the "No Kings" playbook back in mid-October, where the goal is straight-up deception of the feds trying to do their jobs.

A couple of snapshots from the scene say they've got more layers than an onion.

But here's where the plot twists: Those new rules slated to kick in come January just got fast-tracked. DHS hit the fast-forward button, and they're live now. No more hiding behind the Halloween haul if you're breaking the law. Straight from the DHS site, do yourself a favor and hit the "prohibited conduct" section for the unvarnished truth:

All persons are prohibited from engaging in the following conduct, on federal property or in areas outside federal property, that affects, threatens, or endangers federal property or persons on the federal property:

(a) Disorderly conduct, which includes, but is not limited to, assaulting, fighting, harassing, intimidating, threatening or other violent behavior, lewd acts, or the inappropriate disposal of feces, urine, and other bodily fluids.

(b) Wearing a mask, hood, disguise, or device that conceals the identity of the wearer when attempting to avoid detection or identification while violating any federal, state, or local law, ordinance, or regulation.

(c) Creating a loud or unusual noise, noxious odor, or other nuisance. Katie Daviscourt, the Post Millennial's investigative reporter who held her own at President Trump's Antifa roundtable last month, nails it: the new policy is a "game changer" in this endless tug-of-war between the black-bloc berserkers, their media cheerleaders, and an administration that's finally pushing back.

DHS laid it out in their rollout: The rushed timeline? Blame the "sharp uptick in violence" against immigration officers and detention centers—because nothing screams "justice reform" like firebombing feds. Other goodies in the package?

Expanded Charging Authority: FPS gets the green light to nail violators on or off property, as long as it messes with Uncle Sam's turf or tenants.

Modernized Prohibited Conduct: Drones, unauthorized tinkering, and digital sabotage are all off-limits now, because apparently even the tech bros in the mob need boundaries.

Additional Prohibited Conduct: Extra ammo for anything gumming up the works on federal grounds, safety, security, the whole orderly shebang.

Clearer Public Notice: Signs at the gates spelling it out, no fine print required.

Collaboration with Stakeholders: Teamwork makes the dream work: feds, guards, and local cops all in the huddle. Look, if history's any guide, the ACLU's ambulance-chasers will be filing briefs before the ink dries. Free speech! Expression!

Oh, the humanity! But until the Ninth Circuit plays dress-up judge, at least ICE's got a sharper toolkit to unmask the mobs, and remind Portland's enablers that those "nonexistent" anarchists? Yes, they're very real, and very done hiding.

DeSantis Drops Epic Burn on NYC's Potential Refugee Crisis: 'Gonna Have to Charge an Entry Tax'

Oh, the drama in the Big Apple. As New Yorkers had braced for what could be the ultimate "get me outta here" moment in the mayoral race, the chatter's a mix of eye-rolls, escape plans, and, let's be real, a whole lot of schadenfreude from the rest of us thankfully living elsewhere.

Now that comrade Zohran Mamdani pulled off the win, we're talking biblical-level exodus. A Daily Mail poll drops the bomb: 765,000 folks would bolt for the hills "definitely," with another 2 million mulling it over like finding out your Tinder date was not the gender you though they were.

"The departure of at least 765,000 citizens would be one of the biggest mass exoduses in American history, with a population equivalent in size to Washington DC, Las Vegas or Seattle leaving the Big Apple," the outlet helpfully reminds us.

Yes, nothing says "progress" like turning the city that never sleeps into the city that never stops hemorrhaging residents. So, where do all these freedom-seekers scatter? Straight to the red-state promised lands, baby. Places with sane taxes, actual beaches, and governors who don't treat businesses like piƱatas at a Castro family reunion. So Florida's at the top of the list, now that Mamdani beat the two narcissists, Andrew Cuomo and Curtis Sliwa.

Ron DeSantis, the Sunshine State's unflappable boss, has been fielding this refugee roulette like a pro for months. Back in early July, right after Mamdani snagged the Dem primary like it was free kale at a Bernie rally, DeSantis unloaded on Fox News with Sean Hannity:
"We've absorbed a lot of people over the years," DeSantis told Fox News' Sean Hannity on Tuesday evening. "I think this guy's policies, soup to nuts, are probably the most radical left that I've ever seen of a major party candidate in a big jurisdiction."
"I'm telling you, I think I'm going to have to charge an entry tax or something because of this guy, because I don't know if we're going to be able to absorb everyone that's going to flee his poor rule if he gets in."
Classic DeSantis: part policy wonk, part stand-up comic. He doubled down on Election Day because why not troll the coastal elites when they're handing you the mic? He even joked (perhaps only half jokingly?) with one X user that he'd consider sending the NYC refugees to southern Connecticut if necessary.

Now, let's get real for a second, because this isn't just DeSantis' problem, it's the eternal gripe of every red-state conservative who's watched their quiet slice of paradise get "Californicated."

You know the drill: Blue-city refugees flood south, wallets fat from remote work, griping about the old regime... only to start voting for rent control, bike lanes that go nowhere, and school boards that prioritize pronouns over phonics. Suddenly, your affordable suburb's got avocado toast prices and drag queen story hours on speed dial.

Don't get me wrong, Florida has the room, and DeSantis is the guy you'd want manning the border (irony noted). But here's my hot take, unfiltered: If you're ditching a blue hellhole because it's too pricey, too regulated, too everything, do us all a solid and leave the socialism at the Holland Tunnel. Don't waltz into Raleigh, Austin, or Miami preaching the gospel of "tax the rich" that turned your old zip code into a ghost town.

Call it gatekeeping if you want, or call it tough love. But in a world where the left's "compassion" means funding open borders and defunding cops, red states are the last bulwark against the madness.  Vote wisely. And maybe leave the DSA membership card behind.

Let's wait and watch what happens next in the newly elected blue cities.

Ted Cruz's Impeachment Wish Comes True: Rep. Brandon Gill Drops the Hammer on Judge Boasberg, the Deep State's Favorite Gavel-Wielding Enforcer

Oh, the sweet sound of accountability echoing through the marble halls of Congress, like a liberal's safe space suddenly discovering the concept of consequences. Judge James Boasberg, that judicial snowflake who's been melting under scrutiny, is now officially on thin ice thicker than a Biden family business deal. As my sharp-eyed colleague Katie Jerkovich laid out last Friday, Republican Rep. Byron Donalds (FL-19) spilled the beans on Fox News' The Ingraham Angle, hinting that his Texas colleague, Rep. Brandon Gill (TX-26) was gearing up to serve Judge Boasberg a piping hot platter of impeachment articles.

The reason for the impeachment is due to Boasberg playing activist ringmaster in the circus that was the Trump probe, green-lighting subpoenas that snagged phone records from nine U.S. Senators like they were low-hanging fruit of a loom. And leading the charge was none other than Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), one of the subpoenaed senators, who'd been hollering for Boasberg's robe to get yanked faster than Adam Schiff can spout a lie.

Well, wishes do come true when you're not wishing on a star but on a filibuster. The House finally delivered the goods on Tuesday, with Gill introducing the Articles of Impeachment against Boasberg.

"I just filed Articles of Impeachment against radical activist Judge James Boasberg," Gill announced with hidden glee.

"Judge Boasberg abused his power by weaponizing the judiciary against critics of the Biden Administration. As part of the Arctic Frost Investigation, Judge Boasberg signed off on frivolous nondisclosure orders to conceal the fact that sitting US Senators were being surveilled.

"Not only was this action egregiously improper; it was a gross violation of the separation of powers.

"Judge Boasberg is guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors, is unfit for office, and should be impeached."

In a follow-up chat that could double as a masterclass in calling out judicial malpractice, Gill didn't mince words: Boasberg had "compromised the impartiality of the judiciary." Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX), is formally introducing impeachment articles against U.S. District Judge James Boasberg on Tuesday for his role in the "Arctic Frost" probe.

Republican allies of President Donald Trump have been criticizing Boasberg after news broke that he was the judge who signed off on subpoenas and other measures in former Special Counsel Jack Smith's probe.

"Chief Judge Boasberg has compromised the impartiality of the judiciary and created a constitutional crisis. He is shamelessly weaponizing his power against his political opponents, including Republican members of Congress who are faithfully serving the American people within their jurisdiction," Gill told Fox News Digital.

"Judge Boasberg was an accomplice in the egregious Arctic Frost scandal where he equipped the Biden DOJ to spy on Republican senators. His lack of integrity makes him clearly unfit for the gavel. I am proud to once again introduce articles of impeachment against Judge Boasberg to hold him accountable for his high crimes and misdemeanors."

It's not just Lone Star firebrands lighting this fuse. Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), whose phone records got the full Snowden treatment in this mess, teamed up with Republican House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (OH-4) on Fox Business' Larry Kudlow show. She confirmed she had tapped Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) to drag Boasberg before the committee for a testify-or-fry session. Because nothing says "transparency" like hauling a judge in to explain why he thought spying on senators was just another Tuesday.

Gill's resolution lays it out in black-and-white legalese that's about as subtle as a sledgehammer to a piƱata: one count of abuse of power, per the text we scooped first at Fox News Digital. "Ignoring his responsibility to wield the power of his office in a constitutional manner, Chief Judge Boasberg granted Special Counsel John L. Smith authorization to issue frivolous nondisclosure orders in furtherance of the Federal Bureau of Investigation project codenamed ARCTIC FROST," the text said.

"These nondisclosure orders covered Members of Congress who were acting in accord with their legislative duties and privileges guaranteed by Article 1, Section 6, Clause 1 of the U.S. Constitution."

Look, impeaching federal judges isn't like giving out a traffic ticket. It's rarer than an honest politician's memoir. Since 1803, we've only seen 15 such spectacles in U.S. history, with a measly eight ending in Senate convictions

The usual suspects? "Making false statements, favoritism toward litigants or special appointees, intoxication on the bench, and abuse of the contempt power." If rubber-stamping Deep State dirt on lawmakers doesn't qualify as the judicial equivalent of drunk-driving a gavel, I don't know what does. Buckle up, Boasberg; the bench might be getting a vacancy notice.

Wouldn't it be lovely?

Smoking Gun? Comey's Own Emails Torpedo His Lies—He Greenlit Leaks, Bet on Hillary's Win, and Now He's Sweating Bullets. Lordy, lordy!

Look, if irony had a hall of fame, James Comey would get a lifetime achievement award for starring in his own sequel: The Tall Scumwafer Strikes Back, Against Himself.

This is the guy who weaponized the FBI into a partisan clown car, chasing ghosts of "Russia collusion" to kneecap Trump while giving Hillary's email server a free pass. And now the DOJ's got him dead to rights on federal charges: lying to Congress and obstructing an investigation over his 2020 Senate testimony. Poetic justice should bring a smile to our collective face.

Comey's big lie was swearing up and down that he never okayed anonymous leaks to the press about Hillary's classified email clusterfrack or the fever-dream Trump-Russia hoax. Yeah, about that...

John Solomon at Just the News drops the hammer with fresh DOJ receipts that make Comey's denials look like amateur hour:
Federal prosecutors revealed Monday they have unearthed a trove of personal emails showing then-FBI Director James Comey openly talked in the days before the 2016 election that he expected to be working soon for President-elect Hillary Clinton and was being kept apprised by a top FBI aide on efforts to anonymously provide information to the news media. Busted. Forgot to delete those from your "Suckers List," Jimmy?
Solomon's thread keeps the heat on:
He wrote, “good job my friend!”Defend that one in court, chuckles.
And get this, the notes flat-out show Comey was already picking out curtains for his desk in President-elect Hillary Clinton's White House. The same sanctimonious hack who buried her emails and cooked up the Russia frame-job on Trump? He was job-hunting under Her Royal Emailness. They really never saw that "basket of deplorables" coming. Hilarious and downright damning. The DOJ isn't messing around, slamming Comey's perjury straight in their filing:
Halligan's filing said the emails showed Comey was aware of and encouraging Richman's contacts with the media, contrary to his claims to Congress.
"Consistent with the above-described correspondence, Daniel Richman corresponded extensively with members of the media regarding or on behalf of the defendant, including in an anonymous capacity," the DOJ court filing argued.

Translation: You didn't just know about the leaks, you cheered them on, you two-faced weasel. Congress got played, the press got fed, and Trump got smeared—all while Comey played 4D chess for a Clinton cabinet spot.

But wait, there's more Monday madness. Comey's lawyers tried the world's saddest Hail Mary: whining that the whole indictment reeks of "vindictive prosecution" courtesy of Trump tweets. DOJ? Not having it. They fired back in court:

"Through a mix of news reports, social media posts, and speculation, the defendant weaves a tale of what he calls 'glaring constitutional violations' that resulted in his indictment for making a false statement to Congress and obstructing a Congressional investigation," prosecutors said in the filing. "When the rigorous legal standard is applied to the facts here, it is clear that the defendant has failed to show the Constitution requires the Court to take the extraordinary step of dismissing this case."

In other words: Cry harder, Jimbo. Trump's posts? Legit beef. Your lies? Felony fuel. Suck it up. Oh, and Exhibit 13 is the cherry on this corruption sundae; a handwritten note on FBI director letterhead proving Comey wasn't just aware of the Russia collusion scam against Trump; he was in on it. Participated, even. The deep state's own Sharpie scribbles, sealing his fate.

As one of the slimiest, most self-righteous relics in the D.C. swamp—yeah, you, "86 47" Comey—you're finally choking on your own tall tales. These emails aren't just harmful; they're a kill shot. Enjoy the view from the defendant's table, buddy. The show's just getting good.

Pelosi Channels Her Inner Godzilla: Trump Is 'the Worst Thing on the Face of the Earth'

If you thought Nancy Pelosi's [aka Frenetic Hands] eyelid flutter was the most mesmerizing thing about her, think again. The former Speaker, who's apparently auditioning for a role in a dystopian sci-fi flick where she plays the unhinged oracle of the resistance, dropped a bombshell on Monday that has conservatives reaching for the smelling salts, or, more likely, the popcorn.

In an interview with Elex Michaelson on the Communist News Network (CNN), Pelosi didn't hold back on her eternal flame for Donald Trump. "He’s just a vile creature, the worst thing on the face of the earth," she declared, as if she'd just discovered the secret ingredient in her next batch of insider-trading stock tips was pure, unadulterated bile.

Michaelson, to his credit, pressed the point: "You think he's the worst thing on the Face of the Earth?"

"I do, yeah, I do," Pelosi confirmed, possibly hoping some lunatic who watches this network will take her words and save America.

When asked to elaborate on this earth-shattering judgment, because, you know, curiosity killed the cat but apparently not the cable news segment, Frenetic Hands unleashed a litany of grievances that read like a rejected script from a bad Law & Order spinoff. "Because he’s the President of the United States and he does not honor the Constitution of the United States. In fact, he’s turned the Supreme Court into a rogue court. He's abolished the House of Representatives, he's chilled the press, he’s scared people who are in the country legally."

Abolished the House of Representatives? Now there's a claim that's easily examined.

Last I checked, Nancy, you're the one who spent years turning it into your personal fiefdom, complete with gavels and grudge-holding galore. But hey, in the parallel universe where Democrats still control the narrative, Trump's apparently the guy who hid the keys to the filibuster.

The clip hit social media like a lead balloon, or more accurately, like one of those Pelosi wine coolers that explodes under pressure, and conservatives didn't waste a nanosecond piling on. The backlash was swift, savage, and about as subtle as a sledgehammer to a piƱata.

"More dehumanizing Democrat language about Republicans," tweeted NRCC National War Room director Ben Petersen, nailing the point that if this were flipped, MSNBC would be holding emergency town halls on "toxic masculinity" by now.

Piers Morgan, never one to mince words (or his British disdain), chimed in with the perfect eye-roll: "FFS… this is so absurd," he posted on X. "Worse than Hamas terrorists? Iranian mullahs? Putin? Jong-Un? Democrat dinosaurs like Pelosi don’t know anything but over-demonising Trump. It’s why they’re polling so badly."

Fox News contributor and former Trump operative Steve Cortes went full scorched-earth: "There cannot be a ‘compromise’ with hateful Leftist charlatans," he declared on X. "It’s an unbridgeable gap. We just have to win. Let’s do it!"

And conservative communicator Steve Guest posted on X: "I see Nancy Pelosi has ZERO interest in toning down the rhetoric," he observed, because apparently, self-awareness is the one constitutional right Pelosi skipped class on.

Even a Trump White House account couldn't resist the low-hanging fruit: "Very sad to see what little was left of her addled, demented mind evaporate as she becomes fully engulfed in hatred," it posted on X. "Sick!"

Tell us how you really feel WH.

Look, we've heard this tune before: the endless drumbeat of demonization from the blue-check brigade that's somehow shocked, shocked, when it inspires the occasional unhinged soul with a manifesto and a bad haircut. But at this stage, it's less rhetoric and more relic, a greatest-hits album of grievances spinning on a scratched vinyl played on a worn-out Victrola.

When Fox News Digital reached out for comment, Pelosi's office fired back with all the grace of a Twitter troll: a screenshot of a Newsweek headline screaming, "Trump Launches Attack on Nancy Pelosi: Disgusting Degenerate." Classy as ever, Nancy. Nothing says "unifier" like screenshot warfare. Oh, and timing being everything, this outburst drops just as whispers swirl about Pelosi's sunset tour. NBC News reported Monday that Pelosi is poised to "make an announcement" post-Election Day about her political future, with insiders betting she'll hang up her gavel for good at term's end. A graceful exit or is it just the universe's way of saying, "Thanks for playing, try the retirement community"?

But don't hold your breath for introspection. When Fox News Digital queried the retirement buzz, spokesperson Ian Krager swatted it away like a fly at a Botox convention: "Speaker Pelosi is fully focused on her mission to win the Yes on 50 special election in California on Tuesday," he insisted. "She urges all Californians to join in that mission on the path to taking back the House for the Democrats." [And the socialists.]

For the uninitiated, "Yes on 50" is the Democrats' latest Hail Mary: a ballot measure to let California's legislature bench the nonpartisan redistricting commission and gerrymander a new congressional map friendlier to the Left ahead of 2026. Because nothing screams "democracy" like overriding the voters to stack the deck.

Pelosi's legacy is a masterclass in power plays, partisan pyrotechnics, and now, apparently, planetary-scale pettiness. As Trump might say, it's going to be a wild ride—but for once, maybe the dinosaurs are finally headed for the tar pits.

Fleeing Felon? Ex-Dem Oregon Commissioner Allegedly Swipes $30K from Elder, Bolts to Mexico with Kid in Tow

Oh, the irony is thicker than a Portland protest fog: A former Democratic bigwig in Oregon, Melissa Fireside, is now America's Most Wanted in sensible shoes after allegedly lifting $30,000 from her own mother's boyfriend, you know, the guy rotting away in an assisted living home. Because nothing screams "progressive values" and socialism, like preying on the vulnerable to pay off your own debts.

According to KPTV, this little escapade went down back in March 2025. Fireside, ex-Clackamas County Commissioner and presumably a card-carrying member of the "tax the rich, but not me" club, sweet-talked her way into the poor sap's bank account during a visit. Then, in a move straight out of a bad Lifetime movie, she rings up the bank, walks the guy through resetting his online login, and boom! Access granted.

Prosecutors say she funneled $29,000 straight to square up a loan from a state representative (because of course it was). Oh, and she skimmed an extra grand for her personal piggy bank.

The whole mess came to light when the victim's daughter spotted the sketchy charges on his credit union statement and hit the panic button. Fast-forward to last week, and the Oregon Department of Justice drops a bombshell in an Oct. 31 presser: Fireside's probably hightailed it across the border, dragging her 9-year-old son along for the joyride. The kid's dad rang up the Clackamas County DA on Wednesday, frantic that the boy was yanked from school and that his ex had "apparently fled the country."

Authorities suspect she waltzed into Mexico on a phony ID, because why not add identity fraud to her rap sheet?

And get this: Just Tuesday, she supposedly booked a hop from Mexico to Amsterdam. International woman of mystery? More like international woman of misdemeanor , wait, no, make that felonies. She's slapped with first-degree aggravated theft, first-degree theft, computer crime, and first-degree forgery. Her conditional release explicitly banned her from jetting out of Oregon without a hall pass.

Trial was set for Dec. 2. Guess who's a no-show?

"Our top concern right now is the safety and well-being of this child," said Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield. "We are working closely with law enforcement partners here and at the federal level to locate Ms. Fireside and ensure she is held accountable under Oregon law. No one should be able to evade justice by crossing a border."

Spoken like a true blue-state enforcer, Dan, though one can't help but wonder if the DOJ's resources were this gung-ho when it came to, say, actual border security.

Fireside's saga is a reminder: In the party of "eat the rich," sometimes they just help themselves to grandma's boyfriend's nest egg instead. Lock her up and send the bill to the state rep who loaned her the cash.

Linda SarSour will ensure Mamdani follows her directions if elected

In the grand bazaar of American identity politics, where the stalls overflow with grievances and the currency is unyielding entitlement, few figures peddle their wares with quite the fervor of the execrable Linda Sarsour

This Palestinian-American activist, ever the vigilant sentinel of the progressive faith, has taken to the digital airwaves to issue a stern admonition to her protĆ©gĆ©, Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic Socialists of America's anointed contender for New York City's mayoral throne. Should he triumph on Election Day, she promises, there will be no complacency in the ranks of his supporters. No, they shall not "let him do whatever the hell he wants when he gets to City Hall."

Instead, Sarsour and her anti-Semitic cronies will loiter perpetually on the steps of that venerable edifice, transformed into a sort of ideological praetorian guard, ensuring their jihadi toes the line on promises as radical as they are risible.

Picture this: a Saturday night Instagram livestream, captured by Fox News Digital, where sourpuss Sarsour addresses her flock with the solemnity of a commissar briefing the apparatchiks. "I just want you all to know I'm not going to work for the Zohran administration," she claims, as if preempting some imagined descent into bureaucratic sinecure. "I'm not going to work in City Hall, because, guess what? There gotta be people like me willing to stay outside."

Ah, the romance of the outsider; the eternal revolutionary who thrives on the periphery, forever threatening the storming of the Winter Palace, even as their chosen one occupies it. "Our friends on the inside need people on the outside to hold them accountable. To say, 'We see you. We're paying attention.'"

This is a thinly veiled warning, laced with the unmistakable stench of leverage. Mamdani, after all, owes much to Sarsour's mentorship. A fellow traveler in the Democratic Socialists of America, [a group of socialists who are not so quietly infiltrating the Democratic Party while hating them] he first crossed paths with her in 2017, pounding the pavement alongside her for the doomed candidacy of Khader El-Yateem, another jihadi DSA darling.

Soon after, Mamdani ascended to the board of the Muslim Democratic Club of New York, co-founded by comrade Sarsour herself. She was there at the cradle of his Assembly victory and the launch of his mayoral bid, a spectral godmother whispering incantations of solidarity. Now, as MPower Action, the political nonprofit she co-chairs, marshals a coalition of 110 groups, from labor unions to Muslim and South Asian outfits, all bent on crowning the city's first Muslim mayor, the bill has come due.

Sarsour's ire, it transpires, fixates on one overt particular pledge: the evisceration of the NYPD's Strategic Response Group, that elite unit forged in 2015 to confront terrorism, riots, and the more boisterous strains of protest. Insofar as the, you know, Jews are concerned, I guess we'll see how many will need to flee the city to save their skin.

Mamdani has pledged the NYPD's disbandment, even as he murmurs sweet nothings [i.e., taqiyya] about retaining Jessica Tisch as police commissioner, a choice that drew Sarsour's pursed-lip disapproval. "I wasn't really happy about the news that he was going to keep Tisch on for the NYPD," she confesses in the stream. Yet she tempers her discontent with a reminder of the pecking order: "What's most important is that in New York City, the police commissioner works for the mayor. They are not a separate elected official. So that means if Zohran says to Tisch, 'You gotta do A-B-C,' Tisch gotta do what the mayor says." Should Tisch demur, the mob outside will duly descend: "Now, if she doesn't do that and goes against the mayor, then that's when we're going to have to go to Zohran and be like, 'You definitely made the wrong decision here. What are you going to do to hold your police commissioner accountable to the plan?'"

Hitler salute?

One cannot help but marvel at the choreography here, the way Mamdani's campaign pirouettes between invocations of his Muslim heritage and a studied avoidance of anything so gauche as overt sectarianism. Sarsour, ever the apologist, dismisses any suggestion that faith is the fulcrum: "Our candidate is out there and just happens to be a Muslim," she insists. His pro-Palestine fervor? Conspicuously holstered. "None of the campaign was ever like ‘Free Palestine’ or the Muslims are going to get extra rights. It just happens to be something that's part of who Zohran is. But that's actually not been his campaign."

How convenient, this selective amnesia, especially when one recalls the protests that have convulsed New York since Hamas's barbaric incursion on October 7, 2023, demonstrations policed by the very unit Mamdani and Sarsour now seek to consign to history's dustbin. Both have marched in those ranks, their chants echoing off the canyons of Manhattan.

And yet, for all the talk of accountability, Sarsour's rhetoric occasionally cracks open to reveal the fissures in this improbable alliance. Mamdani's coalition, after all, marries the DSA's Marxist zeal to the firebrand sermons of figures like Siraj Wahhaj, the cleric who once vouched for the mastermind of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

"You can't be a Marxist and a jihadist and an Islamist and a fundamental Muslim, or whatever they call him, all at the same time," Sarsour concedes with a wry shake of the head. "You gotta pick a side. Either we're theocrats or we're leftists. Like these things don't go together." A rare moment of candor in a movement that prides itself on such contradictions, tacitly nodding to the messaging triumph of blending red banners with green crescents.

Come inauguration day in January, "Inshallah," as Sarsour invokes with pious flourish, dreaming of a "new type of politics," the mayor-elect will find his view from City Hall obstructed not by pigeons, but by the expectant faces of his benefactors. "When Zohran gets inaugurated in January, and as we move forward with this mayor, we have to be the people outside," she urges.

"Zohran is going to have to tell his own critics that are on the other side to basically say, ‘Look out that window, those people outside, these constituents, these activists, these organizers that are outside, I'm accountable to them, because they're the ones that helped me get there.’" And should he falter? "When he does something when he's in City Hall and he's wrong, I'm going to tell him he's wrong." After all, as she reminds her audience, "Voting for Zohran is not, 'We're going to vote for Zohran and just let him do whatever the hell he wants when he gets to City Hall.' Our job as a movement is we have to hold whoever goes to City Hall accountable."

In this tableau, one glimpses the inexorable logic of the activist state: power is not an end, but a means to perpetual agitation. Mamdani may wear the mayoral chain, but the true governors will be those rattling the gates below, their demands as unyielding as the Brooklyn Bridge. Whether New Yorkers, wearied by riots and radicalism, will indulge this shadow governance remains the gamble of the hour. But if history is any guide, the house always wins, at least until the next election, or the next conflagration.
